Title: Scouting Out The Foe
Description: <p>Tumnus

Ornell - September 23, 2008 08:29 PM (GMT)
She hadn’t ventured back out towards the once Temple of Fire in some time. First, The Burning Fist had gotten scattered and she had been working to get them back together. Most were in or around Istan City now. Then Taras had been attacked… what she was worried about now was the fact that the temple was so close to the city and she knew evil lived in the place. It could easily become a staging ground for demons like those that destroyed Taras to do the same for Istan. She didn’t wish to risk it.

She came to the place in the dark and had scouted out all around it in the air and on the ground without being seen. There didn’t seem to be many more there, but she really needed to see about getting her forces up off the ground so that they could come and take back their home. It had been gifted to them by Lady Era and by all rights the guild’s home was right here.

She moved back into the desert, out of sight of the once temple behind a dune. Settling down in the sand cross legged, she lifted her face to the warmth of the sun. For a moment she closed her eyes and let her other senses reach out around her. Sand shifted on the slight breeze. She heard the skittering of some insect as it felt it was safe to move now that Ornell wasn’t. Then something else reached her and she waited for it to move toward her or toward the structure she had just scouted out.

Tumnus - September 23, 2008 08:44 PM (GMT)
Tumnus had trudged through the sands of the vast desert for close to a full day with out any rest. Tumnus had entered the city of Istan a full week ago under the cover of night. Even though, he had been forced to hide in one of the various inns until he was able to secure enough information about the location of the Temple of Fire. While he had never done anything illegal in his entire life, Tumnus' race seemed to have a adverse reaction with the guards of most cities. In turn, this had messed up his information gathering for the whole week he had been in Istan. Luck was with him though as during his final day in Istan City, an old traveler had informed him of the general location of the Temple of Fire.

He was extremely tired by the time he had reached the area that supposedly housed the Temple of Fire. Tumnus decided he'd stay a little ways of until the morning. As he lay down his pack and began to drift off into sleep, he noticed a woman sitting down a few yards away. The old traveler had warned him that various rumors had come through town about the old temple being over run with foul things.

"Who are you?" Tumnus said just loud enough for the woman to hear but not to disturb any of the temples members or what ever beasts were currently inhabiting the Temple.

(OOC: Is there any threads that would be good for gaining some knowledge of the guild?)

Ornell - September 25, 2008 12:56 PM (GMT)
((OOC: If you want to look here there is a short history called From the Ashes and a full discription of the guild hall. If you would like I can work on fleashing out the history more, but it will take a bit to do.))

The sound seemed a little too heavy for someone attempting to sneak up on her. With the voice she heard she knew it was not a demon. She dropped her chin and opened her eyes, fire flickering in their depths before they focused on him. He wasn’t human, or elven at all. He wasn’t a gensi and he didn’t seem to be anything like a dragon. How unusual. She was going to have to find out more about this one, if she could.

She had yet to have seen a being like the one she saw now. She did see the fire in him though, it was there. Ornell rose to her feet and dusted the sand off. With a smile she offered her hand in greeting. “Hello. My name is Ornell, once Avatar of the Goddess of Fire and current leader of The Burning Fist. May I ask who you may be and what reason you have for being out here by The Heart of Fire? It really isn’t safe to venture inside at the moment.” She weighed her words and actions carefully, looking for a response. From there she would gage if this was a foe or someone who might not only be able, but willing to help her and The Burning Fist gain back their guild hall.

Tumnus - September 25, 2008 07:22 PM (GMT)
Tumnus was thoroughly excited when he heard the first section of the woman's speech. He had expected it would be extremely hard to find or to talk to the leader of the some what hidden guild.
"I am Tumnus, the fire troll, and I have wandered here to learn the ways and join the group that you leave. I have heard many rumors of the place being infected with demons and such and I would love to help you clear it out," Tumnus said with a smile.
After all the days of traveling, he hadn't thought it would be this easy to find the guild leader. By helping to clear out the guild hall, he thought he would be able to impress the guild leader and in turn allow him to join the guild immediately.
"Do you know anything about the evil that is within the building," said Tumnus, still smiling at the ease that this was all going.
"I do not take pleasure in running into a haunted guild hall with no information," he said with a short chortle. He took out his mace and retied the belt that was around his waist. He ready for battle and the woman looked like she was an even better fighter than him.
