Title: City in the Sky
Description: open, one other please!

She had decided that a place like this would be a very good place to start her search for a way home, if she could figure out the name of it, that would help. How was she supposed to know what her home was called by others?
The biggest problem with her search so far was that many people simply didn't seem to want to talk with her. She didn't quite understand why. She was still wearing the clothing she had in the mountains, just enough to be what those she had once protected called covered. One had mentioned it wasn't polite... but clothing was so incredibly hot. Especially the furs they had. She had her staff in hand and a blade and flute case on her hip, but they looked at her so strangely. She wondered if she needed shoes or something. Or perhaps it was that they simply didn't know what she was. Annoyed, she decided to go into a building where she heard a lot of talking. Perhaps someone would talk to her in there. As soon as she walked in, the room went silent and they turned to look at her. She looked around, a look of annoyance still on her face. Some were muttering to each other and more then a few were looking at her. Damn this idea. This wasn't going to work at all... She had to try at least though. So she started into the room.

Aron sat at a table in the far corner. This was his last hope. This place seemed peaceful and quiet. Mabeye they wouldn't care about his hideous appearance. His wings ached from being hidden under his cloak. They were bent in an awkward position, pinned againist his back. He squirmed in his seat, trying to get comfortable.
He saw the door open and a young women walked in looking around. She paused in the doorway for a moment, then walked in. She wasn't wearing any shoes and was dressed in furs. She held a staff in her hand and it seemed she had something in a case by her hip. The room became quiet as other people noticed her. "Why do they look at her that way?', he thought. He thought about approaching her, but he remained seated. She would be like the rest, always asking him to remove his hood, then running away or chasing him off.
Aron stood up and decided to leave. He could search for a new home somewhere else. He stood up and picked up his staff. He slightly moved his wings, then carefully covered his hands so no one could see the bright red scales covering them or his long claws. He pulled the hood over his face more, so that a shadow was cast over his face. He began walking to the door and dropped his staff. He bent down to get it and his hand came out of the sleeve of his cloak, the scales flashing as the sunlight struck them and reflected off. He grabbed it quickly, then pulled his hand in, covering it again. He hoped the woman didn't notice him.

Nia was really starting to dislike these people. What was wrong with them? It was as if they had seen a ghost. She was just going to have to get one of their attention and then get them to help her, that was all. Besides, they were all so much taller then the people she had known in the mountains... Her attention was then drawn to a cloaked man as he was on his way out. She had no idea why he was wearing a cloak like that, as it was already stifling warm in here.
She noticed a glimmer of... something? She was curious then... was this someone she would be able to speak with? He straightened rather quickly and her gaze fell on him. It was worth asking at least, wasn't it? She reached out her free hand and let it lightly grip the arm that held the cloaked man's staff. Only the fabric would halt the chill from her touch.
"Excuse me. I'm not trying to be a bother, but I'm trying to find out some information. Would you be able to help me, or perhaps point me in the right direction?" She asked, trying not to let her frustration show.

Aron looked up in surprise. This lady actually talked to him! Most people wouldn't approach others wearing shady cloaks. He stood up straight, pulling the hood over his eyes a bit more. He didn't want to scare her. She apparently needed help, so he decided to at least try to help.
"Of course miss. I'll do my best to help. What would you like to know?", He said nicely. He looked her in the eyes, trying to be sincere. He might be able to help her, since he had been nearly everywhere, except some of the more dangerous places.
"By the way, I am Aron McRaven," he added.

She had steeled herself for more silence or the wide eye looks of some people when she spoke. It was like they thought they were seeing a ghost or something. With his answer, she felt some of her tension evaporate. Thank goodness! Someone around here was sane!
She tool a deep breath to compose her thoughts and said. “It's rather complicated actually. I'm looking for a place, but I don't know where it is in relation to Imythess and I don't know what the people here call it. I want to get there but don't know how. I'm afraid the only way to get there would be by magic.” She left her explanation as of where she was talking about at that for now and decided to make a request of this stranger first. Her tone dropped as she saw that many people were still throwing her glances. “Is there somewhere we could sit down and speak?” She meant anywhere actually. The city was very busy compared to places she knew and it was making her a bit on edge, having to focus on remain solid like ice and not turn into her snow form here. She wanted to sit down a moment and figure things out.
Aron - September 2, 2008 11:23 PM (GMT)
Aron thought about her response. If she was looking for a place reached only by magic, he might be able to help, if only a little. Realizing she wanted to sit, he gestured to the table he had just left. "This way. We may sit and talk here miss." His hand once again came from under his sleeve. His scales reflected the sunlight again, causing a flash of light. He quickly pulled his hand back in, hiding it from view.
He began walking to the table, quietly, trying to act as though he had not noticed the light his scales reflected. He hoped she had not noticed it.
