Rothardan - August 20, 2008 06:49 PM (GMT)
He had been beaten, bruised and battered. But nothing was stopping the paladin galloping to the temple of earth upon his horse, fear racing through his heart. His divination powers had once again woken, and had told him to go to his home as soon as he could. His mind was rushing to Enelya, for even though she was a god... he was fearing for her life. If anything had happened to her... NO! Rothardan cleared such thoughts from his mind. Nothing was wrong, Enelya would be fine.

Finally, he had arrived at the temple... and his mouth dropped open in a silent scream. The once mighty tree that had housed them both was now gnarled and dead, leaves were hanging pathetically from the branches, which in themselves were all withered and dead. But nothing could have done something like this, the temple was protected by divine magic that no mortal knew of... that no mortal could control. And yet, something had destroyed their home.

But Roth was more concerned with one thing, the well being with Enelya. He jumped off his horse and ran towards the once majestic temple, looking for a sign of life. But all was quiet. No birds were singing, no animals were running, you could hear only silence. And then he spotted it, something that was fluttering on the ground. Rothardan ran over to find Enelya's midnight blue dress... her and Roth's favourite dress as it brought her eyes.

As soon as he touched the dress, it happened. Maybe it was the immense fear he was feeling that triggered the Divination power once again, but Rothardan could now see back in time. Back when Enelya was alive, only a few moments ago. Enelya was dressed in her midnight blue dress, humming a tune... waiting for him to come home. And then it happened, a massive surge of unholy energy. Enelya dropped to the floor, in shock more than pain. What could have caused something so powerful? And then another shock... and that was the killer. Enelya simply faded out of existence, there was no grand exit nor majestic death. She simply faded away...

And then he was back in the present, curled up in a fetus position and screaming in horror. Enelya had been snuffed out like a candle flame. Something had attacked her, something had destroyed her. Rothardan rocked to and fro on the ground, clutching the tear-ridden blue dress and screaming, his world torn apart. He had loved her more than any human ever, she completed him. And now... Enelya had gone. It was so sudden, the two of them never even got a chance to say goodbye. And now they never would.

He had been beaten, bruised and battered. And now, he was broken.
