Description: Open

A party was to be held in the norwood forest village, all manar of elf or living being that inhabited the forest was alowed to go. They espicallly loved when the woman of tree's, lake, and cave came. And they loved a party, so most the time they went. There would be food, dancing, and visiting. Even a game or two for the kids.
Ashely was inside her tree home now finding a dress to wear, she slipped on a sleevless dress made of leaves that were held together by spider silk. It fell to the floor but had a slit up the side where her leg could peak out when she walked. Her emerald green eyes made only greener by the green powder she placed on her eyelids, her long brown hair tied in many small braids. Her light pink lips made a brighter pink by gloss. Once satisified she left for the party.
Upon ariving a smile came across her lips. The vilage had many decorations placed and a large table of food lay nessled in the corner. She saw many elves, a few of her own kind and fairys flying in the air. The golden dust fell on her skin making her glow just a little.
Immediatly she was greeted by an elf that looked rather important and bowed taking her hand and kissing it. Ashley curtsied. "A pleasure to see you hear, lady of the Ash tree."
She smiled. "I was honored to come, could never miss a party. Especially one thrown by elves."
Soon many people had joined in the conversation, they all talked and laughed, little kids squezing their way in wishing to know what they were talking about.

Astalder ran through the thick lush of Norwood laughing, chasing his familiars Mar Thysi and his green moth. They zipped in front of him mocking him for not being quite as fast as they were. Astalder lunged forward and began flying a few feet above the ground with his tiny friends. The three wove their way around trees towards the current destination. Astalder had received word of a party for the Elves of Norwood and all Elven kind. Astalder could never refuse a good time so naturally he accepted the invite graciously. For the occassion he'd dressed slightly nicer than normal.
He wore a long sleeved silver shirt under a dark green vest with a golden trim and shining gold buttons and matching green pants. Over top he sported a long silver tunic that opened in the front to show off what was underneath. It was tough work finding a store that sold clothes that were "wing friendly" so Astalder had decided to cut and sew back together holes in all his garments. Despite the holes looking a bit sloppy, his white and cyan wings complimented his bright silver attire quite nicely.
Astalder touched down to earth when he began to hear the festivities grow louder in his long ears. He dusted off any particles that got caught and made his way into a crowd of fellow Elves. Thysi floated above his right shoulder as his green moth floated above his left shoulder. He smiled warmly and poured himself a small glass of ale. He wandered about for a bit, greeting Elves he was familiar with and starting some small talk with them before departing and starting the cycle over again. He walked up to an Elf he'd never seen before, let alone met, the center of attention to a few Elves he did know, and thought it'd be a nice gesture to introduce himself.
"Hail m'lady," he said gently, taking her hand and bowing low with it."I don't believe we have met, I am Astalder Astellan." he said with a smile. His two familiars flew around his head in a game of chase.

Ashley's attention was turned from the circle when she felt a hand, gentle but strong hold hers, she turned to see a man with fantatsic wings bow low with her hand in his. She smiled warmly and laughed a little. The warm touch was nice. His wings captured Ashley's attention. Her ermarld eyes watched them with wonder and awe. She wanted to reach out and stroke the soft white feathers. But she did not wknow if that ment something in his culture.
"We have not met, until now. Astlader, you are very kind! And your have a rare beauty, your wings. They are magnificent." She said releasing her hand from his grip. "I'm Lady of the Ash tree's." She said with a curtsie, her leaf dress rustling as she did so. She did not give him her name, for very few villagers knew it themselves. She liked the air of mystery.
A song started and many began a waltz that she did not know. Living in the forest, and her natural clumsyness did not help. So she watched as people spun, melting itno one another like pools of water. Some of the candles were out, casting a dim but magical light. children lay sleeping on tree trunks. Some wandered around drunk. But most were dancing, suddenly she felt very alone, many of her circle had left.

"A pleasure to meet your acquaintance, Lady of the Ash tree's." Astalder was caught a little off hand, or perhaps it was the ale buzzing around in his head, when she said her name, or perhaps her title. He'd never heard of a Lady of anything, let alone trees, however, he supposed he wasn't exactly a normal sight either. After all he was a winged Elf, not many full blooded Elves had wings, though he was an exception. He was not born with his wings, rather he woke up with them melded to his back. A result of an incredibly intoxicating night was the only reason he could think of.
The reason was not important, all that mattered to him was that he had them and in return they have made him a more formidable foe. "Yes, it's not every day you see an Elf flying alongside the Griffins," he joked politely. A tune had picked up not far away from them that he recognized as Ei Bol sai Jholi Thys, or a Night to Live For in common tongue. After all he was a musician, it would be a sin for him not to recognize such a common tune here in Norwood. Astalder shifted a bit uncomfortably as one by one the large crowd around the lady of tree dissipated to dance about. He was never much of a casual dancer... Not to be underestimated the least bit, the Elf could dance around enemies all day without a scratch on him, but dancing with some one he didn't intend on killing was not his forte.
So instead of asking the stunning lady that kindly complimented his wings for a night of broken toes and embarrassment, he took her by the hand and ran over to the bards. They were closer to the music than anyone else as he began to pull is half-sized harp out. "Do you play? Or perhaps sing?" Astalder asked with a smile. He sat down and rested the harp on his knee, immediately melting into the song for a few bars, before taking a solo.

Ashley ran with him, easily keeping with his pace. They were now only feet away from the musicians, the music was louder and the light just a little brighter. Astalder pulled out a harp and began to play, she shook her head no to his question. She could neither sing or play. She could sing but not very well. So she simply took a seat on the ground and watched the others waltz, the musicans play.
The music was almost over when a drunk man stumbled into the middle of the dancing area and said rather groggily. "L-let tttthe n-Hiccup-mphs dance." He then promptly passed out and was dragged away to sleep.
Ashley's cheeks turned a good shade of pink. They nymphs where excellent dancers, but having an audiance could be rather embarassing. Still the others clapped and she was forced up. Soon they were all in the center with eyes upon them. They all stood, the new music started and slowly one by one they started dancing. Ashley was the last to 'come alive' and they all jumped around and moveid their bodys as if the music was a part of them. Some did cartwheels, others did flips, some did round offs, others jumped high, but all in all their dancing looked like poetry come to life. At the end they all ran off in different directions, each climbing up a different tree.
The villagers clapped and murmered about the dancing. Indeed they could dance well, but stick a partner for a formal waltz, they were dead meat. They danced like no one else.
Ashley had chosen a tree by where Astalder was playing and once the music was done she hung upside down from the branch using her legs to hold on. Now she looked at the world upside down. She smiled and for a fleeting moment ran her hand down a feather of one of Astalders wings. She then tapped him on the shoulder from behind, still hanging up side down. "Catch me!" She said before straighting her legs to fall from the branch.
Astalder - August 14, 2008 03:49 AM (GMT)
Astalder continued to play regardless the Lady knowing how to play or sing. He had a love for music that kept him going. He laughed as Mar Thysi and his green moth joined in the merriment, Thysi prancing across his shoulders, and his green moth flying in figure eights above his head. A faint glittery dust fell from the moth making him feel better, lifting his spirits even higher. Astalder muted his harp for the newcomer to the dance floor. It was Graensyl, High Elf and chairman to the League of Defenders here in Norwood. He had a slightly more known reputation than all those things, and that was the forest drunk.
Astalder chuckled as he struggled to form a proper sentence and eventually passed out on the spot. Poor Graensyl wouldn't get to see his wish for the nymphs to dance. The Elf watched as the Lady took the dance floor with several other nymphs. He began a slow tune he'd played before for a nymph, she'd danced a similar way, dancing like she was telling a story. Astalder began to truly feel the music just by watching the nymphs. He closed his eyes and began to sway back and forth to the beat, his wings spread upwards.
Before he knew it the song was over and the nymphs scrambled to different locations to signify the end of their performance. Astalder smirked as he played a cluster of nonsensical notes on his harp to accentuate the fleeing and also to add a bit of humor. It was truly a beautiful performance of both song and dance combined. Astalder looked up at the little nymph that hung above him when he felt her touch a feather from his wing and tap his shoulder.
"Okay okay," Astalder laughed as he stood up, laying his harp down. "Hit me." he joked putting his arms out to catch the Lady of the Ash tree. She fell lightly into his arms, Astalder barely needed to bend his knees to absorb the shock. She was quite light but then again she was also quite short, standing a couple inches under Astalder's nose. "That was quite a performance!" he exclaimed. "Easily beat watching people waltz around every time." Astalder packed away his harp and stuck out his hand for the little green moth to land on. It was a curious thing, his moth, he had just recently received it and already it seemed quite loyal to him. "What should I name the little critter?" he asked at random.

Ashley felt him catch her and gently set her back down again. Ashley laughed at his compliment, a laughed haert by many travelers in the forest. "Thanks! Your not that bad yourself." She said with a curtsie that was bearly a bob. "Your right, waltzing isnt qutie as much fun. And uhm..." Ashley leaned in a little closer and stood on her tip toes. "I dont know how to waltz." She whispered in his ear, the color in her cheeks just one shade pinker.
It was true, a skill that many had in this day and age she lacked and she didnt even know where to begin. But she admired the ones who could do it. They were good at it. And it was a usefull skill to have anyways.
More people had gone in to rest, soon the sun would be up and the celebrations would be over. People would talk of it for the next day or two but then go back ot thier regular lifes, back to the forest.
Astalder - August 17, 2008 06:53 PM (GMT)
Astalder chuckled at the Lady when she mentioned she could not waltz, however the Elf kept his attention down at his Moth. She played around his hand, weaving through is fingers, circling his, palm, and jumping on his fingertips. She seemed to be very light hearted and wanted to enjoy life to it's fullest. That's perfect! he thought. "Ok girl," he raised his palm that so that the two were eye level, "I'm naming you Johl Caes, perhaps Caes for short?" he sort of half asked half commanded. Immediately Johl Caes flew up and literally began doing backflips. Astalder laughed at the sight "I think he likes it." he said smiling.
Indeed it was well past midnight and the guests were beginning to filter out of the area. Astalder, however, did not feel the need to leave. In fact, he felt some disturbance nearby in the Forest. He dropped his arm and closed his eyes, relying on his sense of hearing to pinpoint the location of the pending trouble. He heard several quick footsteps, like they were running, not too far away. Initially when he heard the parade, he thought of Goblins. Heavy yet fast, as if they were running for a purpose, some sort of mission perhaps.
Like clockwork, Astalder felt a sharp pain in the back of his head, as if some one had thrown a rock at him. He turned around to see his third familiar sitting on the ground looking a little dizzy. It was his pet gargoyle he'd ordered to patrol the area previously. The small gargoyle got up and flew into his tunic, obviously frightened by some one, or something.
"Ryhdir! Karaes ei kyr! Shi'vi kyl sai myr." he ordered one of the head defenders of Norwood in the common tongue in this area. The Elf nodded and proceeded to gather a small group of scouts as Astalder had commanded. "I'd advise you to go find somewhere to hide, this could get dangerous." and with that Astalder vanished into the night with a small group of Elves accompanying him.
