Title: Whispers
Description: <p>
Yaksha - August 2, 2008 04:31 AM (GMT)
Yaksha sat in the middle of Norwood Forest, lounging in the sun's rays. His eyelids closed rarely if ever, and he had an aura of contentment around him. To anyone watching, he was just a normal human, basking in the glory of a beautiful day. After a moment, he rose his head, as if hearing something far off, then gave a bone-chilling smile. This was a smile that would freeze small animals in their tracks, and force even large animals like wolves or dogs to roll over in sheer terror. He pushed himself off the ground, and muttered a single word, one which sounded a lot like "Company."
He stalked off into the underbrush, his hands clenching and unclenching reflexively as he did. After a moment, he walked out, carrying a large fox by its leg. His cheeks were steadily bleeding, and the chest of his suit was torn, but he had a large smile on his face, and the fox itself appeared nearly torn to shreds, fur only visible in some small parts. Yaksha began to whistle absentmindedly as he pulled a knife from a pocket, twirled it, and then began to cut the fur from the fox.
Almost half an hour later, the fox lay in small chunks, and Yaksha had several dozen sticks lying next to him. His knife was lying next to a steady flame, and he was busily stuffing several peices of meat onto sticks, then sticking them in the ground over the flame. He studied it for a second, then nodded, and stalked off again. He returned moments later with a handful of berries, and he then sat, watching the flame with a mild disinterest.
Drask Brihlado - August 2, 2008 04:49 AM (GMT)
Another warm day...a day many would enjoy...but not this overgrown iguana. Drask was in a river, not to far from where Yaksha was posted at. His clothing, which consisted of only a loose fitting, single pieced outfit looking something similar to a fighting monk garb, was resting on the shore on a rock, the lizardman was completly submerged underwater. The heat for him took a toll. Being cold blooded, he needed to cool off once in a while to prevent overheating after all. His skin also needed moisture to. Dry skin was painful for the Argonian.
Swimming swiftly, his eyes open, he could see everything in crystal celerity. He had ben swimming for well over an hour. It was good exercise. Slowly, he surfaced, taking in large lungfuls of air as he waded over to the shore, water dripping lazily from his rough lizard skin. he merely shook his body, like a canine, to get the water off, and snatched his cloths, and slipped it on promptly. Thats when his nose twitched, and he lifted his head...was that food he smelt?
His mouth began to salivate slowly, his stomach growling loudly. He hadnt eaten for at least a day. Perhaps whomever was eating would be kind enough to share with the massive lizard. If not, he was sure they would flee, and leave the food for him to eat on his own...either way worked fine...
Following his nose, he began to make his way towards the source of the smell, making his way through the trees, and through several thick patches of bushes, until he came to the man sitting at a fire, sticks around a flame with pieces of fox meat on the ends, cooking to perfection. Course, Drask didnt need cooked food, but it would be suitable, though he didnt move from his spot, his slitted eyes locked onto the male before him, standing hunched a bit, so not to seem so tall, though his bone structure didnt allow for total upright walking anyway...
Yaksha - August 2, 2008 05:00 AM (GMT)
Yaksha looked up, spotting the rather large lizard near him. He smiled warily, and then rose. "An argonian. Haven't seen one of you in ages. Are you hungry? Plenty of meat to spare." He waved a hand at the smoking meal, and grabbed a peice of the raw meat, popping it into his mouth and chewing slowly. "Tastes a little better cooked, but you always lose that nice bloody flavor when you heat it up. Personally, I take a little of both. Ahh, but I digress. Sit, eat, enjoy yourself!" Yaksha sat down by the fire once more, and began to twirl the sticks.
Drask Brihlado - August 2, 2008 05:08 AM (GMT)
Drask was a little wary of this man...he seemed just a little too kind...not even disturbed...not even the slightest...odd...and he had seen his kind before?...that seemed very doubtful...but he was hungry...he moved forward, his eyes locked onto him, so not to give him a single chance to make a move. He didnt sit, but rather snagged some meat, and gave a small bow of his head before eating it in one large bite, chewing slowly...
Yaksha - August 2, 2008 05:11 AM (GMT)
Yaksha smiled genially, and waved. "Sit, you are in good company. I would never prejudice against one who knows such pain." He seemed to shimmer, and before him stood a demon, almost entirely bones, long and spindly. He gave a wry smile, and then chuckeld. "I've lived for going on 300 years. I've seen just about all there is TO see in this world. I've seen argonians. But, more importantly, I've seen how the 'normals' treat you." His voice was full of condensending rage, barely contained.
Drask Brihlado - August 2, 2008 05:42 AM (GMT)
Drask swallowed, and was going for another when the man suddenly changed into something totally different...a demon he said. Drask couldnt help but instinctavly bound backwards, letting out a surprised hiss from the back of his throat, his eyes glimmer with the surprise of sudden change, though when he seemed harmless, he seemed to settle down, his powerful, tense myuscles relaxing slowly. He gave a mere nod at his words...'normals', s he called them, didnt treat him well at all...
Yaksha - August 2, 2008 05:51 AM (GMT)
His eyes twinkled with boundless sympathy and pity. "They don't appreciate you, do they? They do everything short of spit on you. Outrageous prices, glares, such animosity to someone who wants nothing more than to help. Your kind shouldn't be feared, Drask. They should be thanked, revered, and welcomed with open arms. But, if they insist your kind is so terrible, so ruthless, why not let the rumors become the legend?"
Drask Brihlado - August 2, 2008 07:27 AM (GMT)
Drask listened to his candy coated words, all he said was true...but when he said his name, he suddenly let out a hiss "How did you know my name...i never told you it...'' he hissed dangerously, his eyes glinting "who are you exactly...and why should i listen to any more of your words...?" his body was rigid yet again, his powerful muscles clenched and ready to spring, to flee or fight, depending on what might happen.
Yaksha - August 2, 2008 03:20 PM (GMT)
Yaksha cocked his head, and shrugged. "I make it my business to know things, Drask. I'm a demon, you don't think I have my own ways to figure out what I need to know?" He rose, and gave a formal bow, then pulled himself back to his full height. "That's beside the point, I would think. If the humans want your kind to be a bunch of savage berserkers, why not give them exactly what they want? Even a small group of argonians could easily...shall we say persuade, the humans to change their tune."
Drask Brihlado - August 2, 2008 04:21 PM (GMT)
Dark continued to watch the demon with the utmost caution, even when he bowed. The male's words did make sense...but revenge wasnt for Drask, he wasnt one to provoke violence. And it wouldnt prove anything if he just got a bunch of his kind togeather and attacked humans. It would only increase the fear of their kind, and send out a continent wide manhunt for any and all Argonian heads. Shaking his head, Drask spoke
"No...it would do no good...it would only start more conflict" he hissed, his s's seemed to drag on a little longer, sort of like a snake would, his voice deep, yet airy at the same time. "My people do not wish for superiority...we wish for peace and understanding...respect...bloodshed will get us nothing more than more hatred and fear towards our kind..."
Yaksha - August 2, 2008 04:33 PM (GMT)
"You think I speak of superiority? Nonono, hardly! I speak of equality, of your kind getting what they righfully deserve. Violence is never reccomended, of course, but sometimes it's required." He turned, and grabbed another chunk of fox meat, chewing it lazily. "I'm not telling you to attack the normals. But you need to be ready to grab what's coming. If you WANT change, BRING change."
Drask Brihlado - August 2, 2008 04:49 PM (GMT)
Drask grabbed yet another piece of meat, chewing it slowly "What i WANT...is to be in peace..." he bite down on the meat, chewing it hungrily "equality is not gained through violence...even if you fight, and win...you are still hated. People will only put up with you when your around...they are not sincere..."
Yaksha - August 2, 2008 05:01 PM (GMT)
Yaksha chuckled. "My friend, no one sincerely respects others. They either despise them openly, or they PRETEND to respect them. The only true emotions are fear and anger, and your kind has stewed in them for eons. If you want people to stop attacking your kind, make them too afraid to do it! They only attack you because they know they can. But, what if they were to discover they COULDN'T stop your kind? Eventually, they'd have to accept it, however grudgingly."
Drask Brihlado - August 2, 2008 05:16 PM (GMT)
Drask frowned at the demon and shook his head before tossing the stick into the flames. "We dont want to be feared. We dont want false respect. We want to be left alone, period. That is why we made our presence little known..." he turned his back "...thank you for the food...but i must be going now..." he hissed before beginning to walk away, massive trail dragging behind him
