Alaisdair Vanalon - July 12, 2008 09:35 PM (GMT)
Alaisdair had been in Taras for only a day, her stay was planned to be much longer. Having gotten lost almost every three steps she came to a jerked stop in front of the library. The building was tall and intimidating to those who were undereducated but Alaisdair stared at the building in awe and marvel. The elf was a lover of books. She had an entire floor at her home dedicated to all the books, scrolls and parchments she had. It was still a wonder to anyone how someone so dedicated to reading and so in love with it could get as lost as she did. “Wow” she muttered. Her eyes stared hungrily at the ancient stone building. What better place to get lost than in the library she thought. She shifted the weight of her back pack and walked into the library.

The main floor was lined up to the ceiling with shelves and each shelf contained hundreds of books. Alais circled herself as she got in a full view of the room. A brisk chill ran down her spine as she took in all that she saw. Slowly she walked to a table in the middle of the room and placed her bag down. Her hands moved to her belt where the hilt of her sword was latched to her side. Unbuckling the belt she laid it across her bag. She walked away from her things to a case not to far from her. She raised her pale blue colored hand to the books and caressed the spines of the books. “So many to choose from” she mumbled. Her hand and eyes came to a stop at book.

The book was bound in black. It was ancient source of text like a lot of the other books there. She looked at the title that read Basic Potions Vol. 1. Alaisdair held an unknown love for potions. She knew little to nothing about them but loved them anyway. This girl was an amateur at best with her potion brewing skills. Plucking the book from the shelf she opened it and began flipping through the pages. It seemed that this book was one out of thirty seven others. If she ever expected to survive in a world not like her own she was going to have to learn the ropes and gain an understanding of how the society worked. “Hm best take these two as well” she muttered as she took Volumes 2 and 3 off the shelf as well. Three books in hand she walked back to her table. Alais had pulled out the chair and was about to sit down before she got up and realized she needed a couple of scrolls. Turning around she went to the front desk and asked for three scrolls, a bottle of ink and a quill. The librarian behind the desk looked awfully cross at her but gave Alaisdair the things she needed. Nodding a silent thanks she went back to her table and sat down and began to read through the book.

Sarin Mythros - July 31, 2008 04:19 AM (GMT)
{{{Well, since no one else wants it, I'll take it. MORE MONEY FOR ME! And a new friend, I hope! *grins*}}}

Sarin shook his head at the disorder before him. "That's just brilliant. Who's supposed to be putting these books back?" he said, and shook his head, wings ruffling slightly. "Honestly, you'd think they just throw the books where they want and don't bother with where they belong," he said in a muttered voice.

Careless. Completely careless. They wouldn't DARE treat this books like this in Celestia.

"Yes, Zarinock, I know," he muttered under his breath with a chuckle, pulling one of the books from the shelf. His eye caught on the symbol on the cover, and then turned his head to look at the mark on his shoulder. It was the same symbol. "Irony, or your doing, Zarinock?"

The voice sniffed indignantly. "I know not what you speak of. I have done nothing."

He shook his head with a smile, and headed out of the aisle just in time to see the look the librarian gave the young woman. He tilted his head, and then shook it with a smile. He walked over, and leaned on the table, book in hand, glancing at the title. Of Celestials and Devas Yep. You did this.

"Don't mind her. She's a bit... puffed up with the fact that she's in charge of this whole big building," he said with a grin. "They say absolute power corrupts absolutely, and she's proof," he said, clearly joking.

"I'm Sarin, by the way. Any questions you have, let me know," he said, settling at the table next to hers, wings fanning out slightly as he did.
