Title: The Map
Description: Open: one or two people only please!

Aether Draka - July 6, 2008 02:30 AM (GMT)
Aether Draka didn't normally find herself in taverns, but the place was quiet enough at the moment that it didn't bother her any. There were only about three or four other people in the place and one was the bard on stage playing a tune on a flute. She sat perched on the edge of a bench in a booth on the far was with an empty dish near the edge of the table and a glass of spiced wine near by. She had a peace of paper out in front of her. It was a map but she couldn't remember to where. That was mostly because she was more then tipsy at the moment and couldn't really read what it said. AD giggled to herself and took another drink as Turin sat crouched in the middle of the table.

"Aether Draka. You have had enough to drink, really! Now come on, let's get some fresh air! It will clear your head and then you can figure it out, alright!" The fly dragon urged.

AD grinned at the tiny dragon. "You're being silly Turin. Silly Turin." She giggled again and put her head down on the table and hummed to the music. Then she sat up suddenly and in the process knocked her drink and dishes on the floor. She blinked in surprise and stared at the mess before busting out in uncontrollable giggles. Even as the maid came over to clean it up, AD only found this more hilarious. Unable to stop giggling she ended up giving herself the hiccups. "I'll get some water." The maid said and ran off to the kitchen with the dishes themselves with every intention of returning with some water for AD and a bucket to clan up the split drink before the dinner rush started to show in about an hour.

Nikkolai Virendra - July 9, 2008 03:50 PM (GMT)
((OoC: hrm... I hope it's an all right post. I wasn't too sure about it when I was typing it.))

------------------------

He really had a terrible sense of time. He didn’t know how long it had been, how many hours, or days, or nights… it wasn’t really something Nikkolai could keep track of. He had had enough trouble trying to get out of Istan – he didn’t even want to try to calculate sometime so much more difficult like time. In the end, the only thing that really mattered was that he had made it out and now he was exhausted. Each movement of his limbs was much more difficult than it had been when he had awoken and seemed to be a bit of a struggle.

He had at least managed to buy new clothes that weren’t ripped or torn and didn’t remind him of the endless sand. Nikkolai didn’t plan on going back there, for reasons that at least seemed obvious to him. Not only had it taken a while to fully rid himself of any traces of sand that lingered on him, but his skin had become red for some reason. Whenever he touched it it returned to a semi-normal color for a moment before returning to that ugly, pinkish color. He had also discovered the thick, black, swirling marks on his back, although he didn’t know what they meant just yet.

In enough time he had found a building, the sign outside reading ‘The Broken Strings’. Upon entering he looked around, blonde eyebrows shooting up in wonder. Well, this was certainly different. There weren’t very many people in here, but the few that occupied the place so far didn’t seem very dangerous, scary looking, or strange. That was so much better than what he had encountered in Istan.

With a sigh of relief he stepped further inside, only to hear a loud clattering against the floor. His eyes shot over to that area, widening a little bit at the unexpected noise. Why was she laughing…? She seemed a bit odd. Nikkolai tilted his head to the side a little bit and watched as the woman cleaned it up and walked off, waiting until she was gone to make his way over there. “Miss, ah… are you all right?” he asked. “You’re not ill, are you? I heard you laughing and hiccupping and saw what happened and I got concerned…” Had he known about the affects of alcohol he might have been a bit less worried for her well being, but quite clearly, he had no idea at all.

Aether Draka blinked in surprise as someone came up to her and she took a deep breath. Then waved her hand dismissively in the air almost like she was waving hello or good-bye. "Oh I'm abso... absolutely wonderful. This is such a nice place. Isn't it such a nice place? And I have my good friend Turin here with me to make sure that..." She fell silent for a moment and then looked to Turin where he was still crouched on the table near the map.

"Oh. I forgot!" She proclaimed and picked up the paper to hold it out to him upside down. "Can you read this? I can't read this and I was thinking of finding out where it went to, but I can't do that if I can't read it." She said it so matter of factly that Turin shook his head in dismay. He was going to have to find a way to make sure AD didn't drink like this.

Just then the maid started back for the mess with a bucket and rag in hand. She frowned at the new comer and shook her head. She only hoped this was some friend of the girl and he would take her out of here so that the big table could sit more people when the lunch rush arrived. She didn't say a thing though, not yet, and instead went to work cleaning up the mess.
