((OOC: Ivory will not be in this thread but as I only need Ajan for this one thread and random things later on with Ivory there, I'm not going to bother making him his own account. Ajan is my NPC.))
She wasn’t being careful enough. That was all. If she went and got herself killed… the entire thing would have been wasted. All this time and effort would have amounted to nothing. Damn this curse!
A solitary figure was slouched in the corner booth of the tavern. A glass half full of a rich amber liquid was held in one claw like hand. He spun the liquid with a flick of the wrist and watched it spin with his gray eyes. Eyes slitted like a cat’s. Then he downed it. The glass thumping to the table as he swallowed.
He was still wearing a finely made elven cloak in dark colors and to the untrained eye looked very much like a dark haired moon elf. Anyone who knew better could tell he was at the least a half fiend. Those gray eyes of his looked around the room. He smiled. It was something that almost looked like a snarl.
She was useful. It had taken over a century to find an albino elf. The fact she was actually an Avorial was even more of a surprise. She would be even more useful for some coin once this was over. The only real problem was if she died. If she died before finding a way to remove the curse… it would never be broken. So she needed to keep looking so it would do no good to lock her away just yet. The game of cat and mouse would be fun with that one. No. There was really only one real solution. She needed to be watched. She couldn’t watch out for her self. Not blind. She needed a hired guard. The message had been sent by word of mouth. Now, now Ivory’s guardian had only to appear and accept the job.

A tall hooded figure walked down the street, much taller then all the others around him. This made people look at him a little now and then but he ignored it completely, he was used to having people look at him. He slowly moved his gaze around the area and it stopped on the sign above the door to the broken strings. He watched it for a second as if he was thinking, then he walked to the door and opened it.
Slazhar had to bend his back to get inside since the door was made to fit the average size. But he could stretch his back again when he was inside.
There was some people in the inn but not to many. The fiends eyes scanned the room for what he was looking for and he stopped when he noticed the stranger in the corner. That man was the only one that was close to the description he had heard from the men on the street. The one that was looking for a bodyguard. Slazhar had been without a job for a while and he was bored. This could help him.
The tall bodyguard slowly made his way though the crowded in and he stopped when he arrived to the table, without a word he sat down on the other side of the table and watched the man carefully. "Some people told me that you needed....hired protection." he began with the normal dry voice. "Correct?"

One of the little trumps of a waitress flounced over and took his empty glass. She replaced it with a full one and made her way back through the crowd. Her hips swung to the music as she moved. Human. So very human. What a pointless existence. The gaze of many looked to the door and a few of those who seemed to have at least some common sense looked back away. Others seemed to be gawking. Their gaze and his own fell on the tall figure cloaked in red. The figure took a seat across from him and spoke. For a moment Ajan simply looked across the table. Then he reached out and picked up his now filled glass and took a gulp. He then sat upright with the glass still in hand.
Told? Then he had been told wrong. What use did Ajan have for protection? It wasn’t for him. It was from him. Part of his mind was laughing at him. It was saying how easy it would be to take this so called Body Guard. How much of a use this one would be was still up for debate.
“No. I’m looking to hire someone capable of protecting someone else. I actually have no need for it myself but she seems to and I don’t feel like following her about.” His gaze dropped to his glass and he too another drink before setting the glass on the table. His elbows rested on the table and one hand curled over the other so he could rest his chin on them. “She’s a young lady by the name of Ivory. She is set doing a task for me thought she believes it to be her own goal. I want her to be able to complete it. She has had a little bit of trouble with it as of late. I want you to keep the trouble occupied until she had completed ‘her’ goal. After that I really don’t care what happens to her.” He gave a slight smile that was part sneer this time. “Do you think you can handle that?”

“No. I’m looking to hire someone capable of protecting someone else. I actually have no need for it myself but she seems to and I don’t feel like following her about.”
Slazhar listened and then he shook his head. "No you misunderstood me stranger" he said calmly. "I know it was not you that needed it." he moved his gaze up into the roof for a few seconds and then he looked back at Ajan. He examined him carefully with his eyes. He wondered what this was all about, not that he cared. He simply wanted money, that was what he was living for after all.
He calmly placed his hands together as the stranger was talking about the job, he closed his eyes for a moment to, but he was still listening carefully. When Ajan was done with his little speech he opened his red eyes again. "I see, so the mission will be to keep this young lady safe then, I don´t think there should be any problem with that." the bodyguard ignored the look on the others face when he said the last part, he simply raised an eyebrow. "I think you will find that I will handle this very well."
He thought for a second and then he remembered something important. "About the enemy I will run into, any information that could help me see who they are, any special group or is she simply a magnet for trouble? It would be extremely helpful to know these things If I am to protect her in a better way." he smiled slightly inside of his hood. "It is better to know your enemy after all"

((OOC: Sorry its so short but I'm going to be late if I work on it more. I'm not happy with this post.))
He let his hands fall to the table as Slazhar spoke. He leaned back once more into his slouching position and closed his eyes for a moment. “She had crossed paths with a few undead. Most are small fry. Loners or mindless undead. There was one that I want to make sure doesn’t interfere. I think the meeting was unintentional but I would like to make sure it doesn’t happen again.” Ajan opened his eyes once more. “His name is Lynthaer Golthry and he is the leader of a little group of demon spawn known as the Divschatten. If the rumors are true, they actually have their guild here in this city. I would rather Ivory didn’t get tangled with them as I really could care less what they are doing. I just want her task done.”
He reached out and snagged his glass off the table. He didn’t drink it just yet. Instead he added in almost a monotone, “The one you will have to watch out for the most and not actually kill will be, me. I’m not a patient man and if she doesn’t keep on the move and takes too long I will grow impatient and decide to get rid of the problem. Unfortunately I need this task completed before I do that and killing me won’t get you paid. So you will have to humor me. So tell me, how much do you think such services are worth to you?” He stayed slouched back and gestured to Slazhar with his glass when he asked his question.

Slazhar listened without a word to what the other one said, he nodded a little now and then. He was thinking carefully about the situation. This job could surly give some money since it was obvious that this was very important to the stranger. "I see, well I have heard the name Divschatten before in demonic groups, but my knowledge about them is limited." He made a pause and calmly moved his gaze around the area. "But if they are the once I should watch out for then I will make sure to gather what information I can about them."
He raised an eyebrow when he said the last part, this man sure was weird. [B]"I see, well I don´t think that would be a problem for me" he said calmly. "I will not be able to do much about what she has to do since my knowledge about magic is very limited, I will keep an eye on her and protect her for you like instructed."
He made a pause to think about the price. "Well the mission looks like it could cause a few problems, let me ask you how much you are willing to pay." he focused his red eyes on the stranger and waited to see what he was going to say.
