Title: The Mountain path
Description: Open RP

Slazhar Rex - June 13, 2008 12:52 PM (GMT)
A bright lightning crossed the dark clouded sky, the rain was falling heavily onto the rocky ground of the Gwilikith mountains. It had been raining for many days now, rain with no end to be seen. The animals had searched shelter inside small caves and holes around the area, none of them would freely leave there sanctuary in a weather like this.
But there was some creatures that was unaffected by the heavy rain.
A cloaked creature was slowly walking down a narrow path of the mountain, the fact that his robe was extremely wheat did not bother him much. Not much did ever bother him anyway.
Slazhar moved his gaze towards the sky and he watched the dark clouds as they moved around up there, once or twice he could see a bolt of lightning move across it. He moved the cloak closer around himself and continued to walk.
The half-fiend had been walking for two days now and he feelt like he could use some rest, he just had to find a place to rest in.

Suddenly he noticed something in the light from a thunderbolt, a house? There was a house in this mountains? Now that was a surprise to him. Well he would have to take what he could find. He began to walk a little faster now and soon her could see the building closer, it looked like some kind of old tower, most likely used by dwarf a long time ago, but the power of nature had done it´s work and much of it was in ruins. The bodyguard stopped outside and examined the area around the tower. When he was sure nothing was wrong he calmly opened the door and walked inside. He made sure to close it behind himself.
The inside of the tower was quiet and the only thing that could be heard was the sound of the rain and a little now and then thunder.
Slazhar walked further inside, most furniture was still here and intact. He discovered that the stair to the upper parts was ruined so he would not get there so easily.

He quickly gathered some blankest he found inside a closet, they where old but it would have to work anyway. He placed himself into a corner, but first he removed the wheat cloak so that it could dry better, he used the blankets to keep himself warm. This was going to be a long night.

Melmoth - June 13, 2008 07:28 PM (GMT)
Who dares enter my home? A creature of little sense or great need.

Melmoth crouched on a rock ledge facing the tower. Its walls, though in ruins, had been his home for the last... Month? Year? Week? Time ran together in his mind, years were as days and minutes as hours. Time was not his friend. Neither was the invader in his chosen abode.

He shifted, loosening up his stiffening legs, and pondered what to do about his mysterious invader. He was ill equiped to kill it, and scaring it was a chancy proposition at best. Perhaps the catapult? Fling firey death at him? No, the catapult was still at his last stronghold, abandoned to the orcs.

So, how?

Melmoth slipped off the ledge and landed on the path below. He had a plan, one that might scare off the thing, and would avoid fighting. He'd have to impersonate a tax collector, but no problem there. The taxmen were the most feared of the civil servants, and just showing up and demanding the taxes to the place for the last fifty years or so would probably send him running.

Or else he'd grab one of the weapons that were hidden inside the tower... Things might get slightly out of hand if those were found before he got to the door. Best to hurry and get there as soon as possible.

Slazhar Rex - June 14, 2008 08:22 AM (GMT)
Slazhar closed his eye for a moment, but he opened them again and shook his head. The fiends did not feel like sleeping now, he was not tired. He calmly stretched his back and his gaze moved around the room for a moment. Then he moved the blankets a little closer to himself and watched a lightning as it crossed the sky. He had a pretty good waive of a window from where he was.
He muttered something to himself as he sat there, then he shook his head and sighed.

He turned his head when he thought he heard something from outside and he turned his head that way, he did not move for a few seconds and listened for something. Must have been something done by the rain, nothing more then that. But the bodyguard was not sure about that, he was on his guard, he was trained to be on his guard and now he was ready for something. He stretched out and grabbed the first object he could find, it was a small dagger or something like it, he calmly examined it but he did not say anything. This things was useless as a weapon anyway, the one he had himself was much better.

Melmoth - June 14, 2008 08:48 AM (GMT)
Melmoth reached the large wooden doors of his tower. His tower, regardless of the person inside.

The overhang above his head provided only slight cover from the rain, but it was better than sitting on that damn boulder in the middle of the storm. He was soaked to the bone, and gratefull for the shelter. It also afforded him a slight amount of time to quickly rethink his act. It had no problems that he could see, but it nearly sent his elderly frame into a spasm of evil giggles at the thought of the trick he was to play.

He straightened up, wiped the grin from his face, and almost knocked on the door before he doubled up in a silent fit of laughter. Tax collectors? In the middle of nowhere barging in at night demanding taxes from ages past? Stranger things had happened.

His second try at the door went off without a hitch. His fist slammed into the wood, and a great boom echoed after each successive knock.

"In the name of the God King of Dune, I order you to open your purse to the Imperial Tax Collecters of Imythess!"

Melmoth couldn't hide a quiet snicker upon completion. God King of Dune... That was good.

Slazhar Rex - June 14, 2008 09:06 AM (GMT)
Slazhar had his eyes closed when someone knocked at the door outside. He raised his head and moved his gaze to the closed door. He tilted his head slightly to the side....who could be in these mountains besides him. He slowly stood up frm the floor and wrapped the blankets around his extremely tall body. He stopped when he heard the voice outside...right...tax? Here in the middle of the mountains? From a tower which had not been of use in the past years? Well stranger things had happened before and Slazhar had his way to deal with people of the law. He smiled to himself and then he calmly walked towards the door.

He stretched out his hand and slowly opened the door, his gaze quickly focused to the man outside. Most parts of the fiends body was hidden inside of a big blanket, but one could see part a little here and there, his legs was bent like of a typical predator and he did not have normal hands with five fingers, he just had three very long finger-looking claw things. "What was that? I did not hear you from the inside little man." he said and his voice sounded very off, as if he was talking into a bucket or something. He tilted his head to the side and calmly examined the stranger outside."I must have heard wrong but I thought you said something about.....tax?" he laughed lowly to himself, this stranger did not look very dangerous to him, but he was ready to fight if he had to.

Erolam - June 15, 2008 02:16 AM (GMT)
Erolam trudged uphill, cloak over his huge form, cloven hooves digging deep into the rocky soil, driven down by several hundred pounds of demonic flesh and muscle. The black cloak swayed in the wind, flapping about him like broken wings, his blackened saw-toothed glaive strapped to his back. The demon climbed the hill slowly, tired out by the long walk.

His mood brightened as he spotted an old tower, perhaps somewhere to rest himself and speak with Abe. Erolam chuckled low, a gravelly crunching tone to his voice. His satyr-like demon form seemed to take in the light, black skin giving the white stripes a bright glow. His silvery eyes gleamed, black horns shining.

He unstrapped the glaive and used it for a walking stick, the abyss-forged steel one of few things that could support his weight. He grunted as a piece of hoof chipped off. The demon's temper flared. He was ready to fling his glaive, to hurl it as hard as he could. But the barbazu demon infused in him wouldn't have let him dispose of such a valuable weapon.

Abaelshazarr had used this glaive in many a war in the abyss, this blade had seen and bitten through the flesh of pit demons and imps alike. It was a mighty thing, nigh unbreakable.

Voices rolled from the opening of the tower. Silver eyes jerked upward, glyph raised in his eye staring straight at the two men. He lumbered towards the tower yet, unholy aura spilling from about him like a powerful wave. His large, clawed hands flexed anxiously.

Fara're - June 15, 2008 02:49 AM (GMT)
Fara're had her hood pulled low over her face. She made her way through the mountain path with ease. As she scanned the horizon with her emerald eyes she noticed three forms ahead. Something was not right about this. And one of the shadowed figures seemed familar...

But there was no point in turning back and it would do her no good to try and stray off the path. There was no trees for her to hide in. But there were at least some big rocks. If need be she could easily duck behind one and hide. If things tuned for the worse she knew her speed could easily carry her away. Especially if she transfromed into her tiger form.

As she drew closer she checked a pouch on her belt to make sure her shurikin were easily reached. She also unlocked the clasp on her dagger. Her eyes narrowed as she recognized the smell of one of the figures. Erolam. She had unfinished business with that one. But she had no clue who the other two were.

Undaunted she kept moving forward. She would not be scared off like some stray kitten.

Melmoth - June 15, 2008 10:33 PM (GMT)
The thing intruding in his tower was definently not human. Not even close.

The door had opened slowly enough, and he'd stepped aside to see inside. All thoughts of scaring the intruder away with thoughts of tax disappeared as he caught sight of the monster in his tower. He'd been stupid to even knock on the door. And taxes were supposed to cow this thing? It was as funny as it was moments ago, but now the laughter he hid inside chilled him to the bone.

It was big. At least a foot or two taller than Melmoth's unusual height. It was shrouded in what appeared to be a blanket or rag of some sort, but although it covered much, what it revealed was unnerving. He had the impression the creature was part insect, long black chitonus fingers protruded from the blanket, and wierdly turned knees were hinted at in the way it stood.

Most definently not human.

Melmoth looked up at the shadowed head of the thing, and cleared his throat. "On second thought, why don't I come back later? Its probably not a good time for this and-" He stopped suddenly as a chill unrelated to the rain or the thing he was dealing with swept over him. He'd had dealings with darkness long enough to know an unholy aura when it hit him.

Something bad was on its way.

Ignoring the thing at the door, he turned and looked down the path to the tower. Sure enough, a form approached, a polearm of some kind in one hand, and most likely source of the aura. He let loose a vile curse and wished he were somewhere else. Preferably inside with what few weapons he'd scavenged from the ruins of the tower.

Slazhar Rex - June 16, 2008 05:15 PM (GMT)
Slazhar let go a slight chuckle, he could see that the stranger was unsure, who could blame him since people like Slazhar was not very common.
This man had no real guts. He was a coward relying on the fact that his act would have scared him away, Slazhar would guess that he had never seen a demonic creature in his life, pathetic. The fiend despited people like him, they had no back-bone. The bodyguard calmly shook his head. He noticed the darkness moving towards them and quickly moved his head that way, he stretched his back to his full size to see better. He did see a shadow moving in the road, but it was still to far away fro him to see anything clearly. But it was something dark...could be interesting.

He quickly turned around and walked back into the tower, he made his way across the room to the place where he had left his red robe, as he walked he calmly dropped the blankets. For s few seconds one could see what he really looked like. The skin was dark and thin, his leggs was bent just like an insect. A long tail was growing out from his back and it looked much like the tail of a scorpion.

But he it was soon hidden again when Slazhar quickly dressed himself in the robe. It was almost dry now. When he was done he turned his gaze towards the stranger in the door, and he waited without a word.

Erolam - June 16, 2008 05:54 PM (GMT)
Erolam stopped as he smelled something, not human. He ran his eyes over the area, not seeing anything out of the ordinary. He shook his head and began to walk again, but he stopped again after Abe spoke. 'Erolam, it's the catwoman.' Erolam turned back to where Abe indicated. He spotted her form, well-hidden. A grin covered his face underneath the shadows of the cloak.

He grinned. There's no child to help you now, Fara're. The demon turned and continued on his way to the tower. He spotted a man outside of it, whom had seemed to have seen him. Erolam smiled in dark anticipation and looked beyond him, into the tower. He saw a creature in a robe, definitely not human. But he felt the demonic presence. An ally, perhaps?' 'Probably not. Don't trust demons, goat.' 'quiet, abe.' Erolam chuckled. Let Fara're show herself. He was ready.

Erolam approached the tower, glaive digging deep into the packed earth. He strode calmly, cloak not quite covering his large demonic form. It went to just below his knees, showing the black light fur and hooves. Satyr or not, his demonic heritage and Abaelshazarr's presence had warped the form into it's own, twisted, terrifying way. This form was the beast in your nightmares, the creature imaginative children check under their beds for.

He came to a stop a couple meters away from the man outside the tower. The mild smell of brimstone flowed from him, mixing in with the unholy aura for a sickening presence. His silver eyes shone with their own dark light from the blackness of his hood. The glyph in his eye shone clearly on it's own.

A single black finger pointed at the man. “You, to whom does this tower belong?” He asked in his gravelly voice.

Melmoth - June 17, 2008 05:31 AM (GMT)
Melmoth didn't understand why the new intruder was here if he didn't know Melmoth had laid claim to the tower. Big creepy people with glow in the dark eyes must like walking around in the rain, he reasoned.

As to the question, how should he reply? Claim the tower and risk drawing the stranger's attention? Give up his claim, and let him deal with the creature inside?

Either way, he had to get inside and get his sword. With Fate in his hands, he'd be in a much better position to secure his tower, maybe knock the others down a peg or two. Obviusly they didn't think highly of his attempts to avoid a fight. Unarmed except for a dagger and a light spell, who'd want to take on the bug-man or the glowy-eyed freak in front of him?

Melmoth looked the thing in front of him in the eyes, and tried to ignore the glaive in it's hand. "The tower is mine. I am Melmoth the Wanderer. Who are you and why are you here?" He wondered why the bug-man waited inside for him. Was it an invitation in? A gesture of peace? Or was it simply to stay dry and watch the two on the doorstep?

He couldn't go in yet, no his back would be exposed to the glaive wielding man. If he backed in, he showed fear to the man, and his back to the bug. Someone had to make a move or he'd freeze outside his home.

Slazhar Rex - June 17, 2008 10:06 AM (GMT)
"The tower is mine. I am Melmoth the Wanderer. Who are you and why are you here?"

Slazhar began to laugh where he stood, his eyes moved around the tower chamber and the focused on the man in the door. But then he shook his head and calmly walked across the floor to another part of the tower and picked up a piece of stone from the ground.

He examined it under silence and then he dropped it again. "Your no dwarf, this is dwarf work. They could kill you if they knew you said this was your tower...dwarfs can be very protective about what´s theres." he said with a dry voice, he did not care if the man would listen to him or not, "I think you will find that we all, including this dark stranger came here for the same reason" He quickly picked up the stone again and threw it right at a window, the glass broke into pieces, rain began to fall inside from the hole in it. "It is raining, and have done so for the past two days...you will most likely have much more people coming if this rain keeps falling. If you did not see that yourself then your more stupid then what I thought."

He then slowly moved the gaze to the once in the door, he did not say anything else, he just stood there watching them.

Fara're - June 18, 2008 01:41 AM (GMT)
She knew that Erolam has spotted her, she was not trying very hard to remain hidden anyways. Besides there was no reason for her to try and hide, even if she could have had proper coverage. It was no surprise to her that she would run into the goat again, she knew that this day would come. But it was a bit sooner that she had expected.

She wrapped her cloak around her thin body trying to shield herself from the falling rain. She would have been glad to seek shelter in that building she saw up ahead, but did not wish to share it with the folks she saw on the road ahead of her. If they were to stay there, she would continue on. A little rain would not send her running for cover, especially cover than needed to be shared with one like Erolam.

As she gradually drew closer to the group she was able to make out the other two better. A man it seem, and a tall one at that. The other, she still could not tell who or what it was. She let out a sigh as she trudge on, she would find out soon enough wheather she liked it or not.

Melmoth - June 18, 2008 05:26 AM (GMT)
The bug man had no manners, that was certain. Pointing out the omnipresent rain and the dwarven craftsmanship of the tower was no problem. They were true enough, though the tower was long abandoned by dwarves. Calling him stupid had been a bad idea.

Melmoth turned to the door and advanced inside. "Dog, are you so confident in yourself to insult those you know nothing about? Do you know my measure?"

There, off to the side was the shelf. All he had to do was trip the hidden switch, and it would tumble, revealing his hidden sword. Surely the bug hadn't found that weak point of the shelf yet. The clutter, undisturbed since his last visit, stood witness to his assumptions, but who knew...

"Creature, speak your name. What manner of being are you that so carelessly angers others?"

He could feel it coming. If the bug didn't back down, there would be a fight. The glaive wielder would be a problem if he joined in, but the bug? Unless he was a wizard or had a hidden powerfull weapon, he would fall. A part of him cried out against killing. Misery was far more painfull than death, but killing was so fulfilling. He doubted either of the beings would be the one anyway.

He silently wished for a quiet resolution to it all. Back down... Please... Don't make me do this again... My sword and shelter, they're all I want.

Slazhar Rex - June 18, 2008 09:50 AM (GMT)
Slazhar laughed and placed one hand on his stomach. He shook his head and kept laughing. Then he stretched his back calmly and looked at Melmoth. "I will not be angry because you called me dog, I see no reason to be so since I know it is not true. I think you would be a little on edge if you had been walking in the rain for many days with not much rest or shelter." he said calmly and walked to the other side of the room.
He moved his gaze around the tower and did not say anything for a moment, then he turned back to Melmoth.

"Slazhar Rex, that is who I am, bodyguard to the job." he shook his head slightly. "and about your other question, I think you could say that it is my life that have changed me. People in this world have a strange way to hate things they don´t understand. Feelings is irrelevant if one of my kind is to survive. You might find me mocking and arrogant. But if your mother had thrown you out right after you where born just because you was different you would most likely be like me to Melmoth."
He did not care much about his past, not that it was not true, Slazhar could have been like any other child if his life had been a little different. But that was a part of the past and his life was like this now. He had killed his mother a long time ago....but he did not say that loud because it would give the wrong expression. The fiend did not feel like fighting today, because there was no reason to fight in this place.

Kaess was throughly misserable. He had gotten lost and didn't even know where the road was. This was not uncomon, but the rain was making it very unplesent even with the protection of his scales. Desperate he desided to try and spot the road or some shelter from the sky. He unfolded his wings and took off. Very soon he was airborn looking for any place better to be.

Now he didn't take into account that the air was much thiner in the mountains, given he hand not flown in them before. So it was much to his surprise when he was soon getting dizzy. By the time he relized his mistake it was too late to land. He passed out, but luckily a natural reflex kicked in and his wings stiffened allowing him to glide throught the rain. He was blown by the wims of the wind.

When he came too he saw that the wind had sent him towards the ground and he saw a cloked figure (Fara're) in his path. He though he saw what might be others farther on, but he didn't have time to think about it. He was going to fast to alter his direction much in his half awakened state and it looked like he was coming in from the creatures back side. He tried to slow down without a terrible amount of success. He thought 'This is going to hurt', as the earth came closer and tried to call out a warning to the person he was about to hit, but wasn't sure they would hear him. "In coming" He then braced himself for impact best he could to protect himself.

Fara're - June 24, 2008 03:24 AM (GMT)
"Huh?" Fara're uttered as she heard sound behind her. "AAAH!!"

She saw a gold man with wings heading her way. She sprang into the air and lept over him. She landed safely on the ground, but she could not say the same for the new commer.

She cringed as he crashed into the ground and slid to a stop. Cautiously she crept forward and looked at him. He was indeed gold. She had not been sure if her eyes at decieved her at first. And he had wings! You did not meet people with wings every day.

She poked his side. "Uh....you okay?" she asked.

She did not wait for an answer. She stared to look at his wings. They facinated her. She had always wondered what it was like to fly. But obviously it was not as easy as it looked... She reached out and pulled on one of his wing. She pulled it open and studied the leathery skin that made up the membrane of the wing. She gently touched it, obviously oblivous to what the stunned half-dragon might think of her poking.

Erolam - June 24, 2008 03:57 AM (GMT)
Erolam laughed hard at the man's boasts. It was obvious he did not own the tower. The demon in the tower seemed to be the only thing keeping the man from freezing rain and shelter. Erolam shook his head simply. “You speak big for so small a man.” Erolam pulled his hood down, letting the rain wet his thick black hair and drip from his horns. A pink tongue ran across his teeth, pointed as they were.

The demon inside had much more sense than the man. Erolam smiled and humored the smaller man. “I am Erolam. That is all that you need to know.” Erolam grinned at him and listened to the insectoid demon speak From their tones, he gathered they were not looking to fight. Erolam agreed. He wished no conflict today. The rain had dampened his fighting spirits.

Erolam stamped down his glaive and chuckled. “All is well, then.” He ducked and entered the building none too hesitantly. “Good to meet your acquaintance, Slazhar Rex.” He grinned and sat down promptly.

A sigh escaped his open mouth as his eyes closed, and Abe chuckled silently in his head. The Barbazu didn't seem to mind Slazhar, which was quite unusual. However, he stopped worrying about his infused brethren when Abe began cheering for Melmoth's immediate disposal.

Erolam disagreed with the demon, sure that only good could profit from an ally as him. Sure enough, melmoth seemed arrogant and sure of himself, but perhaps some of his arrogance was well-earned. Only time could tell.

Abe seemed content with this and fell into silence. “So from where do you travelers hail?”

Erolam was vaguely aware of the happenings outside. Fara're had other matters to attend to. He could deal with her later.

redfiver - June 24, 2008 06:39 AM (GMT)
Kaess had aborbed a enough of the fall to avoid serious damage, but it still hurt. He felt lucky to have the added toughness from his draconic heritage. He was glad the person got out of his way though. He heard what sounded like a female voice asking, "Uh....you okay?"

He tried to say 'I'm fine and don't touch the wings', but it came out as "mmh mfhinne ammd domp mtouch the mings" mulfed by the mud he was face down in. Relizings he was face down in the mud he sat up and repeated "I'm fine and don't touch the wings. Oh sorry about earlier and who are are you?"

He stood up and then started casting a heal spell on himself to patch up the damage from the fall, while he waited for answer. He also positioned his wings to form some cover from the rain. He also looked around to see his suroundings and was plesently surprised to find himself on a road. He then asked, "You don't happen to know about where we are would you?"

Slazhar Rex - June 24, 2008 11:01 AM (GMT)
Slazhar listened to what Erolam said, he made sure to remember the name. This could be a good contract to use in the future if he played his cards right. He liked this man because he was more to the fiends liking then what the other one was....he talked to much was Slazhars opinion. He walked over to the table and sat down, but the table was a little to small for him. He sighed deeply, why could they not make things in his size? Well this was a dwarf tower after all and one would have to think about that. He nodded to Erolam when he talked to him, but he did not say anything since he did not have anything to say. He closed his eyes for a moment and gathered his thought, then he opened them again and looked towards the door for a second, but then he shook his head slightly and turned his eyes forward again.

He thought about the question for a moment before he said anything. "I hail from the dark parts of gloomwood, a small cottage in the deepest parts of it." he made a pause before he kept talking. "But I have not been there for a very long time now." he laughed and smiled inside of his hood. "But I miss it sometimes really. Ever been there?"

Melmoth - June 24, 2008 07:43 PM (GMT)
Erolam was the Demon's name then. He had, in truth, expected something longer and harder to pronounce, but Erolam would do. Not all demons had to have incredibly hard to pronounce names.

Mentally, he sighed in relief as things appeared to settle down somewhat. There would be no fight today unless someone provoked it, but just in case... He moved into the shadows towards the bookshelf. He easily reached it, and drew his sheathed sword from the hiding place without tripping the precariously balanced shelf. Hand oh Fate's hilt, he felt at home. He grinned and strapped the sword on while the other two talked of home.

He turned and walked slowly back to the two, close enough to hear well, but not to be in immediate danger from a twirling glaive. He kept his hands carefully away from his sword and hoped his cloak mostly hid the thing from the eyes of his momentary companions.

Home they spoke of. Slazhar Rex, the bug-man, was a former inhabitant of the gloomwood. Melmoth had never been to the Gloomwood, and did not really feel a loss at giving it a miss. He was better suited to cities and villages than sparsely populated tracks of wilderness. Too little of interest happened away from the cities. Forgotten hordes of treasure and magics would invariably draw him into the most uninhabited places in the world, but little else.

He was not even from anywhere special. Kellen was his birthplace, and though the village had changed much over the years, it was still little more than a glorified wide spot in the road compared to Taras and even Istan. Since then, however, he'd more than made up for his humble beginings with a long life of adventure reaching it's high point several years back when he retrieved his sword Fate.

"I'm from Kellen." he said somewhat absently as his thoughts wandered over his past.

Fara're - June 26, 2008 02:54 AM (GMT)
Fara're quickly let go of his wings. "Oh! Sorry...curiosity got the cat i guess." she said. She smirked at her own inside joke.

He really did look strange. She would indeed need to stick around this guy for a while. Strange things always interested her.

"Do you always try to meet girls but almost crashing into them?" she asked with a flirtasious wink. "I am Fara're. And who are you golden boy?"

She was sure he would not like being called that...but that was what he was! He was gold after all. He had to be use to some various nick names. Fara're cocked her head as she looked at him. A warm smile spread across her face as she awaited his response.

redfiver - June 26, 2008 05:14 AM (GMT)
"Its alright"

The healing spell he was concentrating on started to help things and he at least felt less sore, but he lost his concentration at golden boy. 'Haven't heard that one before.' he thinks 'Damn now I have to start the spell again.' He seemed to miss the wink completely.

"No I don't normally meet girls like that, but then again this is the second time I have run into one by acident.

He thinks of the other half-dragon he met and finds that he misses her company. Still not sure why he misses her, but he looks a little distracted for a bit. Then continues like nothing happened.

"To tell the truth this crash was more a passed out from lack of air at high altitudes, stupid thing on my part really. I have heard about this sort of thing, but just thought about it. My name is Kaess by the way and again you don't happen to know about where we are would you?"

Seeing her head cocked he thinks 'This one definetly has a curious streak, almost like a cat.' He then tried to get what mud he had on him off and tried to repositioned his wings to give the best protection from the rain they could, but they were still to sore to move properly. He winced slightly during the effort.

Fara're - June 29, 2008 09:49 PM (GMT)
"We are in the Gwilikith Mountain Range" she answered. "Do you often crash land in places you don't know? Kinda makes getting lost easy for you."

She then started walking down the path again. She wanted out of this rain. "So you said your name is Kaess. Interesting name," she said. "Come on lets try to get out of this rain."

As they walked she sniffed the air taking in his scent. She could tell by his looks alone his was not a normal being but his scent was most interesting. She knew she she transformed she would be able to smell better, but that would not be wise. Not only would she end up with wet fur, but she would let this strange stranger know what she was!

But there was something familiar about his scent too...Then it dawned on her. He had a similar scent to Sirus! Sirus the silver dragon. She studied him with a new found interest with her intense green eyes. His scent was very similar to that of the dragon's but definately not as strong. He seemed to only be part dragon.

"You're....part dragon?" she asked almost in awe.

"Ah well I suppose this is the road I lost when I got lost and I don't crash often, but I do get lost a lot. However, that is what you get for wandering around for a living....."

He works on concentrating on a healing spell, muttering the words following Fara're when she sugests getting out of the rain. He found this new person some what interesting. He couldn't quite place it, but instinct was tell him there was something different about this girl.

When Fara're said "Your part dragon"

A little bit surprised. "Hmm.... well yes I suppose I am half-dragon, elf is the other half. Nothing to be impressed about, just how I was born. I suppose there aren't that many of us though. So why are you traveling around here? "

Erolam - June 30, 2008 06:20 PM (GMT)
Erolam chuckled hard as Slazhar asked him if he'd ever been to gloomwood. “Ah, dear friend. Have I ever been there? I was born there. The offspring of a fiend and a satyr. While it may seem rather weak, I assure you it's actually not a bad mix.” He chuckled and wiped a tear from his eye. The tiefling grew uncomfortable on the small couch, being so large and grunted.

He turned back into the drow-like scholar he used as his other form and smiled. “You don't easily get into town as a huge demon. Getting in as a drow is easier than you may think, though.” He chukled as he looked around the tower for a mead or wine.

“Is there anything to drink here, do you know?” He asked the demon, then turned his attention back to the other man. “Kellen you say? Never been. But a village boy I may be able to believe.” He chuckled good-naturedly, glaive set down, but not too far in case somebody proved untrustworthy. He disliked using the thing, he preferred the feel of bones snapping under his hands, but Abe insisted he learn to use it.

Slazhar Rex - June 30, 2008 09:11 PM (GMT)
“Ah, dear friend. Have I ever been there? I was born there. The offspring of a fiend and a satyr. While it may seem rather weak, I assure you it's actually not a bad mix.”

Slazhar listened to the words, he nodded slightly. "I see" he said calmly. "Well I´m sure the mix had it´s advantages in some aspects, to look weak can be a great strenght if used in the right way. I as a bodyguard have meet several very skilled once and many of them looked much weaker then what they really was." he made a pause and moved his gaze to Melmoth, but it then returned to Erolam. He raised an eyebrow when the demon suddenly changed to the scholar drow shape. He chuckled slightly to the mans comment and nodded. "Well I guess that is very helpful to you then, I myself can have a hard time to move around in big cities, but If I make sure to hide my body it works most of them times."

He nodded slightly to the question. "In fact there is something to drink, you can drink the water from the sky." he calmly began to dig around inside of his robe as he was talking. "Or one could drink some excellent red wine" he picked out a bottle and placed it on the table. It had been there for a while now and he thought he would never use it, but at a time like this it would be nice with something tasty to drink. He stretched his back slowly and brushed some dust of his red robe.

He turned to Melmoth when he talked. [B]"Kellen you say? I have been there once some years ago, I was protecting a young farmers wagon as he came from Taras, a sharp young man he was and the payment was good" he laughed slightly and then he shook his head.

Fara're - July 1, 2008 02:40 PM (GMT)
Fara're looked at Kaess. "Why am I traveling here?" she repeated. "Why not? I was curious about this area so I came to explore. And explore I did and now I am returning to more populated areas."

She walked beside him for a bit. He was an intersting one. Not only in his look but in the way he acted. He seemed to a little unaware of everything going on around him.

She spun around in front of him and began walking backwards. She flashed him a bright smile. "What about you? What brings a big strong golden half-dragon like yourself to this neck of the woods?" she asked in a cheery voice.

Her eyes darted to look over her shoulder. They were getting close to the tower. Close to where that half goat half demon Erolam was. She wanted to avoid him, but it seemed like that would not happen. She hope that this half-dragon prooved to be someone who could be an ally to her should things turn ugly. If not...she could be in serious trouble.

redfiver - July 1, 2008 11:43 PM (GMT)
"What am I doing here ....." He laughs a bit. "You know I completely forgot. I know I had a reason, but I can't seem to remeber it right now. Wasn't a job ..... Hmm... Oh well it will come back to me eventually." He thought to himself 'So she is another random wander. Might be a nice companion for bit. I do miss the company of others at times and she seems nice enough.'

While saying this his healing spell has finnally finish cleaning up as much of the damage as he cares to for the moment. He shakes himself trying to losen up the muscles a bit. He then noticed the tower they were aproching how he missed seeing it before he didn't know.

"Oh I see shelter ahead. I hope that anyone in that tower won't mind another person or two trying to escape the rain."

He felt a little relieved at the sight of shelter hopping there wouldn't be too many more surprises today, but then that hope was rarely ever the truth in his life. He then relized his companion was walking backwards.

"Why are you walking backwards?"

DornKoon - July 5, 2008 03:52 PM (GMT)
Alice walked trough the falling rain, her hood protected her from the falling rain and she hd no problem to stay dry at all. She came from the other side so she did not see Fara´re or Kaess. She was inside of her own world at the moment, a lightning crossed the sky and she looked up, then she shook her head and turned her gaze back to the road. This was going to be an interesting event to her, that she had seen in the rain, she was going to meet someone she knew from before, who could be in a place like this anyway? Well she would see that soon enough.

The sorceress walked around a cliff and noticed a large tower further down the road, she stopped and examined it with her eyes for a few seconds, then she raised an eyebrow. There was something familiar about the feeling she had just now, it made her shiver slightly. Could it really be so? Here of all places? How very odd really.
The lef slowly began to walk again, following the road towards the tower, as she came closer she could some shadows moving further down the road, but because of the rain it was hard to see much. She ignored them for now but was ready if it turned out to be something hostile. She stopped a few meters away from the tower, she could see the building closer now and it looked like it had been there for many hundreds of years...but most likely not in used for the latest century or so. The feeling was stronger now, that aura she could feel....it had to be him...it could not anything else.
She nodded and then she walked to the door into the tower, she raised her hand and knocked at the door.

Melmoth - July 5, 2008 04:17 PM (GMT)
(ooc - This guy lives in taras or kellen? I'm assuming kellen, since it's more likely to have farmers than taras. Coming home from the big city?)

Melmoth looked at the bodyguard with a new perspective. As he remembered Kellen, it was not a village with enough money to be able for one of it's people to hire a bodyguard at today's prices. As he figured it, Slazhar had probably either shown a kindness to the man, or something happened he wasn't speaking of. "A man with money in Kellen? I thought all of them were too poor to afford the services of a bodyguard. His harvest must've gone well."

The demon, Erolam, was doing his best to irritate him, but as of yet was not at a level that would provoke a fight. Melmoth had mentally congradulated him, and hated him even more at the same time. He would enjoy stabbing the creature, but would wait untill a better opportunity arose. Erolam had to sleep sometime.

"So I was a village boy. You were born in a forest, and your mother was a goat. So think a moment before... Why are more people coming here?" He had just spotted two people coming towards the tower, a golden humanoid and a more normal woman. The rain and the tower drew the wierdest people from miles around. The girl, walking backwards for some reason, was probably a lich in disguise. It wouldn't surprise him a bit. He'd have to put up with two more people in his home, one obviously comepletely strange, and the other quietly hiding her strangeness. Probably.

It was going to be a long night.

Erolam - July 7, 2008 10:55 PM (GMT)
Erolam looked at Melmoth with a chuckle. “You cannot make me fight you, Wanderer. Stop trying to taunt me.” He cocked an eyebrow as he watched him, an amused smile on his face. His attention turned to slazhar and he sighed at his first comment. Figures. He wasn't expecting his next action however.

“Hoho! Very nice. Don't mind if I do.” He poured a glass for himself, leaning back in the seat and sipping at the wine. He sighed in contentment and grinned. The demon felt a familiar presence, something he hadn't felt in a while. In this place, though?

Erolam set down the glass and stood up before Alice knocked on the door. He chuckled and opened it.

“Hello Alice.”

Slazhar Rex - July 7, 2008 11:23 PM (GMT)
Slazhar moved his gaze to Melmoth as he was talking. "Well he did not pay me much for that job" the fiend said calmly. "He simply gave me room for the night and a place to sleep, sometimes money is not the most important thing after all...and one have to live to earn them" he laughed slightly and shook his head. He moved his eyes to Erolam and smiled behind his hood, he liked this one...he had style really. But he did not say anything about what he said since it was none of his business really. He took a glas of his own and poured some wine in it, he took a slight sip and then took a deep breat, it had been a while since he had been drinking such a nice liquid.
His eyes turned towards the door when he heard the knocking....who could that be, he watched Erolam as the demon stood up and walked to open, he heard his words and it looked like it was someone he knew.

Slazhar closed his eyes for a moment and took another sip from his drink, he did not care who it was really. As long as it was calm and no fighting...he did not feel like fighting in this weather.

QUOTE (redfiver @ Jul 1 2008, 06:43 PM)

"Why are you walking backwards?"

She just smiled at him. "Oh...not real reason. It is just fun that is all," she said.

With a skip she spun back around and walked normally. They had arrived at the tower now. She knew her enemy was inside and did not want to face him, but traveling in this weather would do her no good either. She took a deep breath before stepping inside.

She flung back her hood and shook her head sending dropplets of water flying all over. She put a hand on her hip and struck a cute flirtasious pose. A playfull smile spead across her face and she gave friendly wink.

"Hello boys!" she said cheerfully. "And girl," she added when she saw Alice.

She then gave a sly grin to Erolam. "Ah...good to see you again my dear goat. I hope I don't cause you to go running off again like I did last time."

She then studied the others in the room with her emerald eyes. One was for sure not human. What ever it was it had and odd shape to it, but she could not really teel due to the cloak it wore. The other she figured was human by his size, but once again his face was hidden in the shadow of a cloak.

If they were allies of Erolam she was for sure in trouble...but the goat demon's pet werewolf was not around so she knew that if she transformed into a full tiger she could easily leave them all behind. Well except for the winged one standing behind her.

DornKoon - July 8, 2008 09:23 AM (GMT)
Alice smiled at Erolam when he opened the door and greeted her. "Hello darling" she said with a friendly voice. "I´m suprised to see you in a backwater place like this....I´m surprised that I´m here myself" she laughed and then she walked into the tower, she gave the demon a light kiss on the cheek as she walked past him, then her eyes moved around the room and she quickly noticed the two others. She raised an eyebrow and a slight smile appeared in her face. "My I see that the mountains are crowded today, how very....fascinating." the sorceress laughed.

She turned around when she heard the voice from the door and she noticed the lady outside, first she did not remember but then she did, it was that cat lady from some time ago....my much people was coming to this place. "Oh, more people. Is it high season to run around in the mountain I wonder? Because it sure looks like it to me" she laughed again and calmly stretched her back.

Melmoth - July 8, 2008 01:50 PM (GMT)
This was getting more than a little annoying. His tower was slowly filling with people, each more noisy and talkative than the last. This Alice especially. She was an infused also, so it seemed, and he liked her even less than Erolam. At least you knew where you stood with the goat.

While she was talking and all eyes were off of him, Melmoth closed his eyes and slipped into his Shadowdancer trance. He felt a coolness descend upon him, and knew that he had just faded into the shadows. For all intents and purposes, he was invisible to the rest of the group. Whether he was really invisible or something about the trance caused others' eyes to slip over him without seeing him was up for debate. The effects were undeniable.

He slowly opened his eyes and watched the group. He would see how long it would be untill he was missed, and then consider revealing himself then. For now, the stillness of the trance was soothing. It slowed down his thoughts and made it easier to keep his emotions under control. He was one with the shadows. They would cover and protect him, hide him from their eyes, and give him the strength to keep from stabbing someone. He'd need it.

QUOTE (Fara're @ Jul 7 2008, 06:07 PM)
"Oh...not real reason. It is just fun that is all,"

"Oh I see"

He waited for Fara're to enter the tower then entered soon after. He shook himself a little and streched his wings as he step inside getting most of the rain off that he could. At first he didn't notice the others in the tower when he did he looked at them with interest. He did not even notice Melmoth before he disapeared. He felt they were interesting people, but then that could be a good thing or a bad thing. He was content to stay next to the wall by the door so he did. It didn't bother him to stand. The most important thing was he was out of that annoying rain.

"Wow lots of people are in here how interesting, hope the you don't mind one more person escaping the rain. Mind if I ask your names? I am Kaess."

He smiles a bit which shows his sharp draconic teeth, but he was trying to look friendly and he was hopping that these people would turn out to be friendly.

Erolam - July 9, 2008 04:47 AM (GMT)
Erolam spotted Fara're enter the tower and turned towards her, shedding his drow form, preferring to tear her limbs away with his natural hands. His nostrils flared as she spoke to him. “Cause me to go running off? Hardly. Your child friend stepped into a private fight. At least I had the guts to keep Brahms out of the fight. Pity you can't do the same.” He sneered at her.

Erolam's temper was calmed somewhat by Alice. He snorted and turned to sit back down. If things turned nasty, at least he could be sure he would have her on his side. Perhaps Slazhar, but most definitely not Melmoth. The man wasn't to be seen, but Erolam could hardly care less.

Erolam's attention turned to Kaess and he sneered again. A friend of the Cat's? Erolam shook his head and turned. The two were outnumbered. He could handle himself in a fight with Fara're.

Erolam looked at Alice and softened a little. “So what brings you all the way out here, Dear Alice?” He smiled, offering her a glass of wine.

DornKoon - July 9, 2008 10:30 AM (GMT)
Alice listened to all of this as it happened, she moved her gaze from the cat-woman to Erolam and then back to the woman again. Okey there was some serious negative energy moving around in this room at the moment....she liked it but she did not want them to ruin the nice tower or all of them would be wheat. She calmly placed one hand on Erolams shoulder, but then she moved it and sat down on a chair of her own. Her eyes stopped at the strange creature for a moment but she was not sure if he was looking at her or not...well he was odd but could work.

She smiled at Erolam when he offered her a glass of wine, she took it and calmly smelled it for a few seconds. "Well I´m on my way to the south at the moment, the north was so boring and I thought I might find something new to do further to the south." she smiled and took a sip from the wine, then she took a deep breath and closed her eyes for a moment. "That was nice, have not had anything tasty to drink for a very long time. Well that i what one have to deal with I guess. But what are you doing in this place then my dear Erolam?"
She opened her eyes and looked at the demon with curious eyes.
