Mara - June 10, 2008 03:57 PM (GMT)
Mara stood in a large, grand house. It was beautifully made out of delicate wood, and inside, it was furnished so lovely, it was made for a wizard, not her, but a old friend. She walked smoothly towards the body that was strewn across the floor of his study. She gently stepped over him, and walked to his desk. The mage breathed, but only slightly, he was on the edge of death, and Mara didn't care. She lifted a few papers off the desk, and flipped through them with her long slender fingers, finding nothing interested in the papers, she let them fall to the floor.

She looked through the desk more, and taking out the drawers and dropping the contents out on the floor. She was looking for something, but wasn't finding it, but any signs of frustration was not clear on her face, frustration never showed on her beautiful elven face.

When she had looked through everything in the drawer, she walked towards the wizard again, and knelt down beside him, and prodded his arm.

"Wake up, you fool." She hissed. "Where is it? Where is the second jewel? I know you have it..." She said, and prodded him again, this time with the hilt of her bone hilted dagger. The wizard, tried to speak, but it was a difficult thing to do, when near death. She watched him, and leaned slightly closer. "Where is it?" She asked again in her same calm voice.

"I-I d-d-don't have it..." He managed to mumble quietly, before death took him, Mara had to lean closer to hear him, but what he said made her somewhat angry.

"Fool." She swept to her feet, her long blackish, purplish robe that had silver runes etched into it fluttered wilding around her. She stepped over the wizard again and took a few steps away from him, then turned around, arms raised, and moving in strange patterns, and Mara started speaking in a strange language, language of magic. The spidery words slid off her tongue easily. The dead wizard was shrouded in a purple, black looking mist for about five seconds, then it evaporated, and near the mans body was a pure black stone. Smiling at her work of capturing his soul, she lowered her hands and went to pick up the stone and she held it in her hands a moment, before slipping it in a pouch at her waist.

"Now, Malie, where were we?" She asked the small fae dragon who was perched in the dark shadows on a shelf, the little fae dragon screeched lightly in reply.

What Mara did not know was that Alice to was in the mansion, she had been there for some time now since she needed a place to stay in and rest. It had not been hard to talk herself in with the stupid wizard, she had her way with men and used it all she could. Alice had heard some strange sounds coming from the study, but the sorceress was busy reading a book at that time so she did not care much what the old fool was doing. "Must be some experiment again, will does old-timers ever quit? It is soon night." she said to herself and flipped the page of her book, she read the page and then she calmly closed the book and placed it on a table. "Well by the sound of it I would guess he is done down there, might get to my own work then" she smiled to herself and then she calmly stood up from the chair she had been sitting in. She brushed some dust of her green dress before she walked to the door and out from the room.

The elven lady slowly made her way trough the mansion towards the stair down to the lower floors. The only sound from her was the light once from her shoes as she walked over the wooden floors.
Alice calmly moved her gaze around as she walked, it was very quiet and to her it would seem like all people in the house was sleeping, well that was better for her then. She suddenly stopped because she got a strange feeling, something was not as it used to be. Odd?

She shook her head slightly and then she continued to walk, she made a turn and walked into the main hall of the house, none was there either but she could see light coming from further inside, from the study? Was he still awake? She walked towards a door and opened it, on the other side was a small corridor that ended with another door, the door to the study.
It was darker here and the only light was coming from the open door to the study. Alice was not afraid or anything, she was rarely afraid of anything at all. She simply tilted her head a little to the side and then she began to walk down the corridor towards the open door. She heard a voice as she came closer and it was not the old wizard because this was a woman.
This surprised Alice, why would a woman be in the study? She did not stop when she arrived to the open door and simply walked inside, still very calm. Her eyes quickly analyzed everything she could see, the dead body and the woman. She tilted her head to the left and focused her golden eyes onto the stranger.
