I thought it would be best for me to clear some things up about what happened to all the members.

What was once the Member group, was change to the Validating Member group. By doing this, anyone who signed up was a Validating member. Validating Members can only see one forum, and there for are forced to post in said forum. This was done to prevent spam from getting on to the actual boards. After one post, the Validating Member becomes an Active Member and there for can view the entire site.

Any account who had not been promoted and was still a Validating Member is gone. Remember, the Validating Member was originally the Member group, so a majority of the accounts on Imythess were then Validating Members until they were promoted or moved to a different group. This was how we were preventing spam, but was never meant to be used as a way to delete members.

Unfortunately, there has not been enough communication between Admins, and an accident happened. All accounts in the Validating Member group are deleted and can never be retrieved. A few people I know had accounts they had not used yet, therefore were not promoted to Active Member and are gone. This, however, did get rid of all the spambot accounts, with great sacrifice to other members.

The exact total of accounts that were lost: 3184

This was an accident, and I am sorry to anyone who may have lost an account.

Another thread will be posted later with instructions on how you can get most of your stuff back from an account that was deleted.
