Title: Not The Greatest of Her Days
Description: [p] Bastian
Nravee - May 26, 2008 03:03 AM (GMT)
Nravee sat on a low roof. Her legs folded underneath her, and she leaned over the roof slightly to look at the street below. The entire place was bustling with people. They were rushing... why? She looked up at the sky, and her eyes widened and she let out a soft moan. It was going to rain soon. She slid down the side of the slanted roof to the edge, where she jumped off and landed on the cobblestone street on her feet, and she started walking down it, looking for a tavern. She went down the street heading towards the taverns district and reached it soon, where tons of people seemed to be gathering around, and every now and then, she heard someone say fire spellcaster or something. Interest dawned on the fire genasi, and she walked closer to the group of people but stayed quite aways so she didn't seem like she was eves dropping.
But as she got closer, they changed the subject... about how it was going to rain soon, and Nravee felt the first drops of rain fall on her. She held back a squeak of fear as she stared at the small drops on her arm, she brushed them off, and ran to the tavern, just as it suddenly started to nearly downpour. The moment she reached the door and inside the tavern, she was completely wet.
Her eyes were wide with absolute fear and annoyance. Her hair stuck to her face and her clothes to her small build. She hated rain and all water, it was torture for her. Someone could just threaten to drop of water on her head and she would spill out any secrets she had. Other people rushed in the tavern, and pushed her aside, for she stood in the way, and she ended up tripping over her own feet and falling into a table full of people. She scrambled to get up and away, as the people at the table raised their voices cursing her, and telling her to go away.
"Sorry." She mumbled and righted herself and wandered to a empty table, hoping to get a drink that would warm her up somewhat, and she hoped to hear more of this fire spellcaster. She wanted to increase her own fire abilities, well, not that she really had any yet, but she hoped to learn.
Bastian - May 26, 2008 03:21 AM (GMT)
Bastian had been had a corner of the inn, well and relaxed. He was drinking a bit so it help to his mood even though the souvenirs in this place. Meeting the dwarf and the half-demon on a quest to gain more power, so much that they would rule the world. But times have changed....Even so young.
He was feeling somehow more accostumed to this world, even tough he was coming from another and could not remember a bit about it. Was this like his world would like? Only without magic? What could it be like? how could his family be like? Were they worried about him? Had they been caring? Did he, atleast have a family? He sighed and hope as much.
Suddenly people were gathering inside the place. Crowed, he would have to watch for it. Though the innkeeper looked at him. "Hey, can you be a bud? And light those candles? When people enters like this and with this weather, it's pertty hard to keep them lighted..."He knew since it's been a couple days he had been there, and thanks to him a couple of bandits who try to get their money on this palce, had faced a infernal punition.
The young outworlder stood up and pointed at the candles in questions."Little grow big, until it brings inferno...SPARKS![b]There you go, sir..."He sat down to his table and the innkeeper brougth him another drink free. Nodded to the man, Bastian started to drink again. He noticed this girl excusing herself here and there . Well, she was cute but, everyone have bad habits. One, of the reason he is now used to travel alone.
Nravee - May 26, 2008 03:36 AM (GMT)
Nravee sat at her table alone, feeling uneasy here in such a crowded place. She didn't have a big problem with crowds, only water. But it was slightly annoying to hear all the talk of random, pointless things. She glanced about, wondering if there were more people out there who knew of the fire spell caster. Something caught her eye as she flicked her eyes around the crowd. It was someone lighting a few candles, with a fire spell, she recognized as a spark spell. She may not know yet how to use those spells, be she certainly knew how they work. She had studied fire magic for a long time, and was often able to identify them.
She stared at the man who used the spell. And felt happy that she may have found the fire spell caster the men had spoken about outside. She turned her gaze away, and felt nervous. How would you approach a fire mage, one who knew more about fire. She also wondered why she wanted to meet this mage, but she somehow figured that she may want help to reach her goal. She bit her lip, then finally deciding on what to do, she stood up, leaving her table, and walking towards the man.
She reached in table in a few steps, though, she had nearly fallen again, but luckily caught herself before falling onto another table and people, which she was glad. She wasn't always able to catch herself, she had terrible balance, except when it came to dancing and the sort.
She stopped at the mans table, and smiled slightly.
"Umm... Sorry to bug you. But curiosity got the better of me." She said, and smile nervously. "But are you the fire mage that some of the men outside mentioned?" She asked, shifted slightly where she stood.
Bastian - May 26, 2008 04:47 AM (GMT)
Bastian was still deep in his thougths. What should be his next move? That was one of the disadvantage of not beeing in a group, but it compensate with the fact that he was in a tavern and this kind of place were the nest of rumors. Bandits where they could be hiding, a lost treasure, an undead making ravages, anything.
His eyes fell on this clumsy girl of sooner, the pyromancer sighed. She was coming at him and he hoped it was worthwhile, though not like he had something to do but...There was a but somewhere. What could she want him? If if it was for the bandits taken out few days ago there was nothing there. She would not be the first to try to pass the night with him.
He looked at her with a neutral eyes. Curiosity? For what for? What didshe came to ask? He saw a lot of stuff been asked to him since he changed his goal. But still people and curiosity was all over the world. Nothing could change it."So?"He asked and took a sip of his drink before putting it back down on the table."People may mention stuff, and there is plenty fire mage around. But if you look for a pyromancer, yeah. It's me."Bastian did not liked to be called a mage, he prefered sorcere pyromancer but not mage. mage seems....frail...
Nravee - May 26, 2008 08:16 PM (GMT)
"People may mention stuff, and there is plenty fire mage around. But if you look for a pyromancer, yeah. It's me."
She stared at the man a moment, then sighed. "Fire mage, pyromancer, same thing." She said, and waved her hand in a dismissive gesture, then resting her hands on her hips. Then very oddly, her hair and clothes seemed to have dried, all because of her fire elemental side. "But only a few know how to use the powers, most only think they can and almost blow themselves up." She said in a quieter voice, almost like she was talking to herself, and she looked away for a moment, but quickly looked back up at the pyro.
"I need help." She said, and shifted nervously again. She sometimes hated it when she asked for help, especially when it came to magic. She liked to learn magic by herself, but for her, she knew it would be impossible, for she would lose herself, like her mother did in fire magic, and her father.
"I mean, to put in more description for what I need help with, is... I need help in my magic. I'm trying to become a fire sorceress, but i can't achieve that by myself, or I'd lose myself." Nravee said.
Bastian - May 26, 2008 08:47 PM (GMT)
Bastian sighed as the girl says that it was similar. There were differences. Fire mamge was only casting it, Pyromancer were using it, controlling it. But the outworlder knew he was not at the stage to control fire perfectly. "There is slight differences...Herm..."[color=darkblue]Well, she did not presented herself, so whats the deal, the pyromancer would surely not ask.
He then noticed that the clothes of the clumsiness on legs in front of him, were drying faster then usual. He knew only one thing that could do so. Rare people and he had been told by Alice, his elven friend, back at the academy of magic."Excuse me miss, but..."He came closer to her to see if his tougths were right. Up close like that she was even cuter, he was looking in her eyes but then looked down to see the dryness of her clothings and to changed subject."What made you dry as fast?
He was blushing but act like he did not. His nose was pitch red, from both alcool and shyness of the moment. He was feeling stupid. God, what a moment to be that way! And...Why was he having this feeling now? He took a deep breath to keep himself cool. He didn't not even know her name.
Listening to her, he sat back at the table and made her sign to take a seat. Blowing themselves up? So far it never happened to him, so he knocked the wooden table just to be sure. His eyes stayed focus on her, help. Bastian was able to be that. Taking out monsters was no problem. Perhaps beside Lichs, cursed undeads. He took a sip at the moment that the girl asked him to teach her. The drink stopped in his throat and he choked.
People around looked at the outworlder, slightly worried. The guy had killed bandits and was filling little tasks for the innkeeper, it would be a shame if he had to die by choking. Once it passed, people were quite close of him to offer their help but Bastian thanked them and made sign that they could go sit back.
He turned back to his wanna-be apprentice."What? So you think i might just teach you like that? It ain't easy to learn it like you said it yourself. I travel around and i learn them. It is quite easy somehow even though...He stopped, he was about to let out that he was not coming from this world."...I'm no Genisis. Since they can learn as fast as i did, or even more."He sat his back layed on the chair.
Nravee - May 27, 2008 02:23 AM (GMT)
"There is slight differences...Herm..."
She rolled her eyes. Slight, she thought carelessly. She watched the man then lean closer and speak. As he leaned closer, she took a step back, mainly out of habit, then held her ground and she cocked her head at him slightly. Most would know what she was, but she supposed, there were some out there who wouldn't.
"Excuse me miss, but... What made you dry as fast?"
"I'm a fire Genasi. I never stay wet long." She said. She never really knew what made her always dry faster, maybe it was because her skin was warmer then normal humans, but she never paid much thought to it, it was natural for her. She pulled a few strands behind her ear. She watched him closely, and was surprised slightly to see him blushing, but, she noticed it was also probably due to the alcohol. She was never fond of the stuff but the warm stuff was pretty good.
She sat down, even before the man gestured for her too, who would turn her down and say she couldn't? She sat then, sitting on the edge of the chair. Nravee was surprised by his reaction to what she had said about asking him to help her, she hadn't expected him to nearly choke himself on a little drink. She noticed the other people here get on edge that same moment, mainly it seemed for the mans safety, they must not want him dead or anything, especially over a little thing.
"What? So you think i might just teach you like that? It ain't easy to learn it like you said it yourself. I travel around and i learn them. It is quite easy somehow even though... I'm no Genisis. Since they can learn as fast as i did, or even more."
She shrugged lightly.
"I know the basics. All my life I've studied magic, ever since I could read. My family were fire sorcerers, my brothers and sisters helped me and I helped them. I just need help studying the spells, help to control them. You travel around learning, then I could go with you. I need to learn. I need to control fire." Nravee said, almost desperately. "Only one person in my family is destined to control fire, and I don't plan to be the one who ends up losing and burning myself inside like the rest of my family."
It was true, every member of her family, for generations have been killed by fire, because they weren't able to control it right, they ending up going crazy to learn about fire, then ended up roasting inside and so far, there was only two of her family left, herself, and her elder brother.
Bastian - May 27, 2008 03:09 AM (GMT)
Bastian's eyes widened in interest when she told that she was a fire genisis. Incredible, this was one of his dream coming true. Well, not that he have been too long but still. He was now a bit more interested to help her. He crossed his arms and closed his eyes.
Listening to the fire genisis girl, he tought of finding a way to becone one hiself. If he could take a sample of her blood and try to make himself one, to increase his own fire power. But The pyromancer would never think of killing for his own purpose. He opened his eyes when he heard that even genisis could get themselves killed by their own element.
He stared at her/"How...Can someone so Linked to an element get killed by it? I'm nothing but a human and still have a pretty good control!"Seems eother mos of her family were really badlucked, either somewhat stupid, or Bastian was either skilled or lucky. He sighed knowing that there is no way he can get an answer.
Fine,He stood up. He hoped that it was not the effect of the alcool that he was making his decision, neither the one that she was a pretty cute girl, or simply because she was a fire genisis. He hoped that he could help her, she seemed so in need for it."I'll help you..."
He walked at her and tripped but grabbed himself on time. His face pretty close to the girl. He blushed once more and stepped back. His last drink had went to much. The clients around looked at him again, and Bastian laughed of both nervosity and fun waving at them. The crowd laughed with him. Strangely, people look cheerful even with the temperature.
The innkeeper smiled at the pyromancer offering him a room. He nodded and asked for a room for his companion. The innkeeper agreed and asked for names."Bastian and..."The outworlder grinned at his new traveling friend. "After all, we need to get ready for tomorrow."
Nravee - May 27, 2008 03:33 AM (GMT)
Nravee noticed his look of interest in what she had said about her being a fire Genasi. Hopefully, that would make the man think again about helping her, and she knew she would need the help. Her family had been to arrogant to get help from other fire users, they were selfish and wanted to keep their powers to themselves, and look where it got them; burnt to a crisp in the family tomb.
"How...Can someone so Linked to an element get killed by it? I'm nothing but a human and still have a pretty good control!"
She shrugged. "My family says its a curse. I agree with them, because they were too arrogant. My family crave fire. They tried things no one should with fire. Fire is a destructive force, and I'm not going to make the same mistakes." She said, raising her head slightly.
"Fine."
Her eyes widened with joy, and a wide smile broke over her soft features.
"I'll help you..."
"Really?" She was surprised, she almost expected him to turn his back on her like most would. She could barely keep herself from leaping up and hugging him, but instead she sat where she was. Then the man tripped, and came close to her face, and this time, Nravee blushed, one thing she has barely ever done. She tensed up slightly, when she felt all eyes turn her way. Soon, the bartender came, and asked if they needed rooms. The girl recovered herself, and nodded.
"Bastian and... After all, we need to get ready for tomorrow."
"Nravee Lsee." She merely said. She had nearly forgotten to even say her name. Slowly, she stood, and straightened out her dress again.
Bastian - May 27, 2008 03:56 AM (GMT)
The innkeeper let the keys to the two fire spellcaster, whatever they skills. Bastian led the way to Nravee's room."Well, good nite...Bastian opened his room, it was the same one since the couple he had past as a reward for having got rid of the bandits."See ya tomorrow, hoping that i won't get an hangover."He let this as a joke. He entered the room and closed the door behind him.
He take a deep breath. He knew he would not be so bad tomorrow, his body endure well, slow drinked alcool. But the image of Nravee blushing straigth in front of him was far to bad a bad memory. The smell she have, hereyes and this smile. He felt his stomach feeling strange. Surely he had frank to much.
He took out his black robe and let it fall on the floor, and hide in the bed. Thanks to the sleepiness given by so much drinks it would not take too long before getting asleep. And in no time, his mind was off. Dreaming of beeing cozy with the fire genisis. This time, no nightmares about the undeads, the bandits on an innocent village, or his evil side fighting him. Just, an happy and peaceful slumber.
Nravee - May 27, 2008 04:40 AM (GMT)
Nravee followed her new master up the stairs to her room, she stood at the door, and watched Bastian go to his room. He said goodnight to her, and she smiled slightly, and nodded her head, laughing lightly at the joke he made. Hopefully he won't have a hangover, it would be bad to try to control fire with a headache. She mumbled a goodnight herself, before slipping into her room. She took her small back pack off. It was smaller then normal ones, and it couldn't hold as much, all she had in it was her clothes. She set the bag on her bed and took her quarter staff off her back too, and leaned it against the wall.
She then sat down on the bed, and didn't think she would be able to sleep tonight, she was to excited, and was filled with mixed feelings, ones she didn't even know what they meant. She puzzled over this before laying on her bed, knocking her bag to the floor. She closed her eyes, and tried to sleep, but couldn't.
After a while, she sat up, and wished she could sleep. She looked towards her door, and wondered if Bastian was sleeping well or not. It would not do good for her to stay up when she needed rest for tomorrow.
Sighing, she stood up again and walked to her door, and into the hall again and walked quietly to Bastian's. When she reached his door she knocked on it softly, then reached down and turned the handle and peeked in.
"Bastian, you awake still?" Nravee whispered.
Bastian - May 27, 2008 11:25 PM (GMT)
The soft voice of the girl woke him slowly up. He was not sure if he had been dreaming or not. So he stood up the blanket falling off his chest, revealing his body slightly muscled and covered with scars. He had a drowsy look to the genisis.
"Nravee? He was not sure if it was really her or a part of a dream. He stroked his eyes. and looked carefully at the door. And could harldy believe it. He stood up was about to grab his stuff but then realized by looking at the window.I wasn't not late?He lightened the candles on the desk near the bed."Nravee...Is there something wrong?" She was making him worry.
What? He was getting worried? No, way! It was way to quick, he did not even know her. He shook his head and took a deep breath. He was not shy at all to be topless, but this world was somehow different, how could she react?
Nravee - May 28, 2008 02:18 AM (GMT)
Nravee watched him stand, and cocked her head slightly when the blanket fell from his check, and she couldn't help but smile ever so slightly, but it was gone as soon as it had come and she stared at Bastian's face, her eyes calm, though, she felt nervous, but she was excited about tomorrow, but there was that one part that did bug her, it was how her family always ended up dead. Ever since her younger sister died by fire, it made Nravee a bit uneasy, but hopefully she found someone who knew how to control it enough to help her.
"Nravee? I wasn't not late?"
She laughed lightly, shaking her head.
"No, you aren't, its still late night." She said. He seemed a little uneasy to her, she knew what must be going through his head, but she ignored that. When he asked if something was wrong she shrugged her shoulders and looked down, biting her lip, thinking for a moment, before looking back up.
"I couldn't sleep, I kept thinking about tomorrow. Your the first one to even agree to help me, the others sorcerers I went to refused to teach me, they thought my family cursed. Who couldn't with our bad luck?" Nravee said, and sighed. "Are you sure you want to teach me? It will probably be a waste of time if I end up as ashes like my mother."
She didn't really mind seeing him shirtless, even if it was the first man she has ever seen without. She took a slight step forward but stopped herself.
"I'm just worried I'll end up like my family, a few burnt bones in a tomb." It was sort of horrifying to live in a family that basically experiment with fire, seeing how well they could control before it kills them.
Bastian - May 28, 2008 03:59 AM (GMT)
When she laughed, it seemed like a weight of his shoulders. It was good to hear laughter and also to hear he was not too late. Though to see her nervous like this, the pyromancer knew there was something wrong but what was it? He hardly knew woman since the only hehad been with a long time was that elven lady Alice.
As heard the part of the story saying that everymages refused, he felt bad. He walked at her and closed the door behind his guest so she could sit somewhere."You know what i think? I say that what the people avoid to fear stp them for beeing better."He walked back to his bed and sat on it, in viting the fire genisis to do so herself.
There was no point on wearing the black robe if she did not mind. After all, everyone had their ways to be in pyjamas. He listen to the parts she feared. He really did not know what to say. So Bastian walked to her, only knew, or remembered anbout cheering peoples. He hugged her friendly a hand in her hair and the other around her shoulders.
"Stop worrying about it, if you do so all the time, you'll won't be as good."He looked in her eyes with his bronze eyes. He blushed but by his behavior he knew it was not the drinks he had. He could not remember his parents, he could not know if they were alives or not. But he continued to try to change her mind.
"If you let your mind free of those thoughts, you will think more about the fire magic. Eithre case i have i have more chances to be bad about myself, if i had to let you go, or something had to happen to you, i would not forgive myself...So im sure you will do okay."He strangely said that he did not wanted to lose her? Whoa, things were going a bit too fast but at the same time, he could not help it.
Nravee - May 29, 2008 07:14 PM (GMT)
Nravee listened to Bastian as she stood still, her hair seeming to constantly waver almost like fire. She smiled slightly, she was slightly surprised when he hugged her in a comforting like way, she supposed she didn't mind that much, it somehow felt right to be near him, she shook that feeling off mentally, she had no right to think of such things, it was foolish. He was right, she should stop thinking about that, it wasn't going to happen to her, she was going to fulfill her families future, she was going to one day control fire, but as long as her brother is still alive out there, there was still a competition, but he won't win, he couldn't.
"Thanks, Bastian, again for helping me. Fire is very important to me, I should not let myself fall into despair, thinking of what may happen." She said then took a couple steps back then leaned against the door slightly. "I guess I should let you sleep."
She was a little hesitant to leave, she didn't want to go to her own room yet, but they both needed rest for tomorrow. Thunder rumbled outside, and she looked past Bastian and to the window. Rain was falling down hard. Nravee hated rain and thunder, to her it was frightening to be stuck out there, she was glad to be in a large tavern with a good roof, she would hate it if it started to leak. She pulled herself out of her light thoughts and looked back at Bastian.
Bastian - May 30, 2008 11:35 AM (GMT)
Bastian smiled at Nravee."Don't worry, i can understand why people need help sometimes...and besides, it would be kinda boring to travel alone."He said that when he relized that he would prefer travel along with her. What was going on? Those feeling weren't right for now, he was the master and she was his apprentice.
"Wait!"This was more a call made out of a reflexes as when the genisis told him that she would let the outwordler sleep."Let me sleep? Why not you getting to bed? Won't you be able to sleep? If you can't well...."He looked around, shyly. Why was he blushing? He had no right! Why did she told Nravee to wait, now he had to say something."Well, if we go to sleep around the same time, and that is whenever we feel tired, we wake up around the same time tomorrow anyway. And we are in no hurry, i will teach it anyway so i you prefer to talk, then you can stay."
This was not right at all! Attachements would be another one of his weakness now. He had refused magnificent young woman to do as they wished with him, but yet, he needed to be with this one now. The pyromancer, passed his hand in his hair and stroke his neck. This would get complicated. He did not like when it was so difficult to think about something. Spells were easy to cast, fight were easy to handle but relationship? Not at all. And he did not even know Nravee. Except a part of er past, and her good attitude, and....No enough! If he kept thinking about it, he would found other stuff.
Nravee - May 31, 2008 02:52 AM (GMT)
She stopped leaning against the door, and was turning to open the door, but stopped once Bastian told her to wait, often a thing she remembered when her mother read story books to her. She tilted her head to look over her shoulder at Bastian, a smile forming on her lips. Even though she just met him, she was starting to like him, he made her nearly laugh sometimes, with the way he seemed shy around her, it seemed slightly funny, no one ever acted like that around her before.
She would prefer to talk, she was never good at sleeping at night when she was excited about learning form new things hopefully. She turned to face Bastian fully, and smiled. She was tired, but, excitement always kept her up. She walked towards his bed, and sat on the edge of it, and pulled her knees up and rested her chin on them, while wrapping her arms around her legs. Her long red hair, falling about her face.
"I would enjoy talking, if you don't mind. I mean, its not everyday I run into a fire sorcerer who blushes a lot in my presence." She said jokingly, laughing again.
"So, master." She said, and grinned slightly at that one word "master". "I've been wondering where you come from, you don't look like you are from around here." Nravee asked, rocking back and forth slightly.
Bastian - June 2, 2008 02:35 AM (GMT)
Bastian was glad to hear that she wanted to talk with him. But what could they talk about? He had no idea, though he wanted Nravee to be near of himin anyway. Weird that he was etting obsessed with a girl that himself barely knows. Well, it would not take long before he does. Since the fire genisis sat beside him, he could not help but smile at her. How cute was she in tht postion near him.
When suddenly she told that the outworlder was blushig often, his eyes widened and his nose became redder. The pyromancer was reacting badly at this joke, even though he knew it was one. But each joke contained a part of truth, well, she did not seem to mind about that. Perhaps she was even liking it? He slightly shook his head, he did not want to daydream about stuff like this.
Then the word 'master' showed up. Bastian became uncomfortable with that. True, he was the genisis' master but, he felt himself cloe enough of her that she could call him normally."Please, no master. I'm not comfortable beeing in an autority position, consider me as an helper not as a teacher. So Call me either Bastian or Bast, anything you want but not master or sir..."
Another thing made him get uncomfortable. His birth place. Bastian wanted to avoid that, he could not tell her that. Perhaps he could go with a lie? Or, tell her undirectly? He opted for the second choice."Well, since an accident, i can't really remember it. I don't know my family, my former firends anything, the only thing wich i remember is my name..."
His eyes were looking sad even though he was smiling. Alicia was the one who took care of him most, though he needed to make her safe even tough she is a capable mage. He did not wanted to get the elf hurt, but it was his heart calling upon company. And he got a pretty nice one."So where do you come from? Since i don't know the places much...Anything to change subject, and to know her better
Nravee - June 8, 2008 01:44 PM (GMT)
Nravee noticed him get uneasy, with basically everything she said, and it sort of seemed funny to her. He didn't like the word "Master", but she might end up calling him that anyway, teasingly, of course. She merely smiled after he had talked the first time, a playful glint flashing through her fiery orange eyes, one look that many saw when she was thinking of playful little things to do.
"Well, since an accident, i can't really remember it. I don't know my family, my former firends anything, the only thing wich i remember is my name..."
She perked up, and lifted her head up and looked at him, curious about that. "You have amnesia then? Wow... I never met anyone with that before. I can't even imagine what thats like..." She said, and looked towards the window, wondering how terrible it must be without a memory, it was hard for her to believe it even possible. She would be terrified if she ever lost her memory, but then, it would be nice not to know her families curse, and not worry about it all the time. She shrugged the thoughts away mentally.
"So where do you come from? Since i don't know the places much..."
She smiled again, cheerful once more.
"I'm from Cascadia. A beautiful place, to much water though, but its still wonderful! I love all the art there, but Imythess is full of beauty, and thats only a portion of it." Nravee said, thinking of home. The city Cascadia was wonderful, full of wonderful things, but it was only a little bit of Imythess wonders, she couldn't wait to go see how many other things are there out there, waiting for her to see.
((OOC: Sorry 'bout me late reply... been sick and bored.))
Bastian - June 13, 2008 02:56 AM (GMT)
"No, That you can't....
It was true, who could imaine such a thing and be sure that his imagination is right? How can he knows that his personnality won't change because of that? The memories are what build the character of someone, without it, you could be as innocent as a child. Or was the personnailty in the subcounsciouness? There was no way to know, no one to tell so.
Sure there was advantages about having no past, new life ahead but nothing to hold on either. Freedoms and yet, no bound. Independant but no safety. All those things, missing...It was getting heavier on his mind, so the otworlder shook his head and looked at the sealing laying his back againts the wall, siting on the bed, still topless.
Though, he started to have a past, was easy to see with the scars he had got from a fight againts the undeads. Now, though he would fight, ifght to defend, attac to protect. A tougth came to his mind: The best defence is often the best offence. He closed his eyes for a second and try to remember if he already been in the native town of Nravee. yes, at the waterfall, avoiding the rest of the town.
He needed to get to those temples, they are not supposed to b that far of the towns either. Atleast he hoped."Yeah, it seems like a nice place.|"When she told that this world was full of beautiful things."Yeah, i can see that most of it we can see it by traveling in places..."He looked in the Genisis'eyes with a sparkle of fire in the eye."Other are by traveling in time and space."
It was true, the beauty of the jungle you have to go there, the beauty of a picture you have to go get it, the beauty of a woman, to be with her, to be in love, you have to meet her at a certain time as it seemed destined. Then Bastian realized what he was thinking. His eyes widened, and his face blushed, he looked away at the window. Man, was it true? No, it could not! They were only talking and it was not even a full day difference. Even his own attitude towards her seemed to have melt, normally he was somewhat rough and all but not with her.
Nravee - July 8, 2008 02:45 AM (GMT)
She leaned back, her back touching the wall, and she leaned her head back, eyes closing briefly. She couldn't wait till tomorrow, so much adventure already, so much to see. Imythess was a truly wonderful world. She lifted a hand, running it through her red hair, twisting it around a finger then letting it go, her eyes still remained closed, but she soon opened them, and turned to look at Bastian when he spoke again, but she didn't think much on the words, mainly thinking of his voice, it was a nice voice, and he seemed kind too, though, she still thought it funny that he blushed a lot.
All her life, she avoided getting close to people, but now, something was nagging at her, like telling her that it was OK, that being close to someone was fine... But Bastian, she just met him. She looked away from Bastian and yawned, finally feeling content, and tired.
It was hard to stay awake, she considered getting up and going to her room now, but felt so tired suddenly.
Bastian - August 30, 2008 05:19 PM (GMT)
''Nravee?''
He realised that she had her head on his shoulder. He could not help but the the situation cute. He smiled and stayed quiet, after all he did not wanted to wake her up. He closed his eyes tired of everything else. He sighed slowly drifting into slumber.
Bastian dreamed of flying above plains, lake and mountains. The outworlder was laughing and smiling. Feeling happy? He looked and he was with the fire genisis. He was holding her and she seemed happy too.
He did not mind really at his moment because he knew it was only a dream. He felt something warm, and he got blinded, waking him up. Sun was by the window, and something was on his arms. The pyromancer was surprised. Now how to move without waking her up? He decided to do as he was still sleeping, she would surely try to get out of his arms steatlhly.
Nravee - August 30, 2008 06:24 PM (GMT)
Nravee slept easily. Perhaps she dreamed, but she couldn't remember what they were about. All she remembered was seeing fire, bright flames, then someone screaming in agony. And then her brother, or, what was left of him, a pile of ash. But after that, she couldn't remember what happened. And next thing she knew, her eyes fluttered open to feel the heat of the sun on her, making her skin warmer then normal. And she noticed someones arms about her. He glanced to the side, looking at Bastian for moment, believing he was a sleep.
She silently and easily slipped from his arms, and landed on the wooden floor, but stood still as she touched the wood, hoping she wasn't making to much noise, and glanced to look at Bastian, before she walked quickly, but quietly to the door, and slipped out, giving one last look at Bastian, a slight smile slipping onto her face, before she went into the hall, and into her room, to find a brush, and maybe go find some breakfest.
Brahms - August 30, 2008 06:42 PM (GMT)
When the fire genisis left, the young outworlder slowly get up, giving her time to do whatever she had to, and of course to givev her the impression that she did not woke him up. He placed back his hair and looked at himself in the mirror again. his chest scarred. Those undead...This necromancer! He got his black shirt and then his red vest, looking outside. Today was the day that he was going in adventure with someone.
The pyromancer stretched abit more to be sure to be well awake, and then left his room. He looked at the room where Nravee had been supposed to passed the night. He grinned. Not like anything happened much in his own room but still it had been fun enough. It was the first person with who he was comfortable so far.
Bastian went to see the inn keeper and he was granted with a good looking breakfast. The old man smiled widely at him making his little business savior a bit uncomfortable.''Yeah? Something's wrong? He said between two bites. The inn keeper shook his head.''Nay, nothing. Everything's just fine...just like your night hehe...''
bastian choked the meat he just eaten, worried, the inn keeper gave him a glass of water. As soon as he could breath he glared at the man.''Nothing happened, you hear me? Nothing! Not because a girl passed the night in a guy's room that something has happened....''He pushed the plate and stood up.''Thanks for the room and the meal, but it's time for me to go...''
People are all the same...Them and their ideals, suppositions making rumors, judging stuff....He stood his back againts the wall wating to see his aprentice getting down.
Nravee - August 30, 2008 07:21 PM (GMT)
She found her brush, and started running it through her knee length hair. It took a while, but at least it wasn't very knotted. She then washed up somewhat, and tried to brush the wrinkles out of her dress. She packed some of her things into her backpack, then left her room, her quarter staff on her back, and her backpack in her hand, and she then skipped down the hall, then walked down the stairs, but at the last step she tripped, and nearly fell, but caught herself quickly, and decided to go a bit slower.
She noticed Bastian, and smiled, while waving her hand slightly, before letting it fall to her side. She went to the closer table, and dropped her bag in a empty chair, then sat in one herself. She gestured to the bartender, who appeared to be the only one working at the moment besides the cook. He came over. "I'd like something... edible?" She merely said, and shrugged slightly. The bartender went off, to get her some breakfast. She wanted nothing in particular, just something to eat.
She tilted her head to look at Bastian.
Bastian - August 30, 2008 09:21 PM (GMT)
The outworlder nodded with a grin when he saw his apprentice. Tough something in his look was still a bit frustrated but Nravee could feel it was not againts her. ''When you're finished join me outside, i need some fresh air.''
As he walked out he felt warmer. Like it was one of the last beautiful day this city will ever see. Tough, he did not care, they would soon be gone from this place. Some usual costumers who passed by, recognised him and saluted him for his behaviors with the bandits of the other day.
That made Bastian felt a bit better.People are stupid, but yet so nice...Mmmh, They surely need protection, they have enough trouble by themselves, they don't need someone to step on them too...He sighed placing back his hair. This journey surely would get interesting.
Nravee - August 30, 2008 11:30 PM (GMT)
''When you're finished join me outside, i need some fresh air.''
She smiled, and nodded. She sat still, her hands on her lap, he eyes closing briefly, reflecting on the conversation they had had last night, before falling asleep. She had let out more then she wanted. She told him so much, told him how her family was dying and how only one will live to control fire. Why had she told him so much? Couldn't she at least keep one secret? She sighed, her eyes flashing open as the bartender set a plate of food in front of her. She smiled, and handed him a silver piece, then picked up and fork, and started eating, without even really notice what she was eating.
She finished eating after a few minutes, and sat there for a moment, before standing, guessing that she should go out now. She took her backpack in her arms, like she was hugging it, and walked out the tavern. She inhaled the fresh air, and sighed then, a smile touching her lips again.
She then Looked around for Bastian, and spotted him easily. She walked towards him, her cheerful smile still on her face.
"'Ello, Master. Lsee reporting to duty." She teased, a playful glint flashing through her eyes.
Bastian - August 31, 2008 12:10 AM (GMT)
Bastian noticed Nravee walking and smiling to him.''Looks like someone is having a good mood...''He did not even wondered why, since she did not seemed to be bothered by him holding her in their slumber.
''Fine cadet, We should go at the fire temple. From what he had read in the Fire Sorcerer's book, it should be the best place to learn fire spells and such. Harness and master the burning power. What better place then a temple placed in the middle of a volcano?
Nravee - September 5, 2008 02:13 AM (GMT)
She stood at attention in a playful way, before relaxing and turning her gaze to the people who walked by, watching them slip away in their lives. She felt her eyes close for a moment, wondering how long she will be able to stay in the world of the living, will her brother succeed? Or her? If she learned everything about fire and just ended up dying anyway, wouldn't it be a waste of life? No, fire was her life, fire was her families life.
After a moment she pulled herself from her almost trance-like state, and looked at Bastian again, a smile in her eyes. The temple of fire. That sounded wonderful to her. "I've always wanted to go there, but Imythess is a dangerous land for a girl who can barely defend herself to be out on the road." She said, still smiling. Now she had help, someone to held train her, someone to teach her so she can learn fire and defend herself.
"How will we get there? It has to be a few weeks ride from here to there, and I don't have any horses, or much gold for some." Nravee's voice held a hint of disappointment, but it was barely noticeable.
Bastian - September 5, 2008 03:26 AM (GMT)
Bastian smiled at Nravee, she seemed to went in her tougth a bit. he coud not really guess about what it was but from what she had told him last night, it was not really difficult. He snapped his fingers when she reached ear him, it may not have been noticable but it help the Fire genisis to come back to reality.
The outworlder was happy to see her liking the idea. How could she dislike his idea. Fire place for fire beeing. It was a secind home for any of them, evil and good. Thing is, if the temple turned into ruins, there would be beasts there. If not maybe humans or such.
He smiled.''Well, don't worry. We'll go therwe together and you'll see this place. Perhaps learn stuff too...''Bastian walked away making a sign to follow, he heard what his apprentice said but he had a surprice to show her.
He stayed silent as he walked througth the crowd and the town. He was still up to something, definitly. A sly grin on his face was the proof. He walked to the central plaza of the town and stood stright in the middle. He gathered the energy that this spell would need, not an insane amount, thats why hje was pretty surprised of but in the end, it was a legendary spell both powerful and costless.
''Let me weakness become my strength, let my knowledge become my power. Shape Change!''Suddenly, the body of the pyromancer starts to glow a red light. His fingers grew bigger whiteier more solid and revealing claws. Wind gathered around him, mahing his cape float, regularly, beating and also solidified forming the wings. The middle eyes from Bastian became thinner, reptalian style and passed from Brown to gold.
The red suit seemed to thicken also covered the rest of the body and slowly. Bastian was no more, but standing in his place, a nice red dragon. He smiled like he could at Nravee.''That should take care of our ride, Wanna hop on?''The dragon layed down to let a chance to the genisis to get on his back.
Nravee - September 6, 2008 02:59 AM (GMT)
She once again smiled at Bastian once more, but said nothing. She followed him without question as they walked towards the large center of Taras. Letting her thoughts wander, she thought of the Temple of Fire, thought of the adventures they could have, and it made her smile at that. Her and Bastian, exploring the lands. She barely noticed anything as they went, but for a second, she though she saw a odd grin on Bastian's face, and couldn't help but be curious as to what he planned.
She continued to follow him to the center, then as he started speaking, she backed away quickly, so she wouldn't get in the way, especially when he said "shape change". She then stopped and stared wide eyed as he starting changing, and then before her was a red dragon. Others around stared with open mouths, and ome looked like they wanted to scream but found they couldn't.
Now she learned more of what Bastian could do, and shape changing looked like a wonderful thing.
''That should take care of our ride, Wanna hop on?''
She then smiled widely, and basically skipped to the now dragons side, and put her fingers around a scale, and pulled herself up, knowing it wouldn't hurt him. She continued to climb up his back, then sat at the base of his neck in front of the wings where it was safest to ride a dragon, then she grabbed unto the spine.
"This shall be a new experience... I've never flown on a dragon before." She said excitedly.
Bastian - September 7, 2008 01:32 PM (GMT)
Bastian grinned as he saw the citizens reations. He tougth that he could get some respect out of it since only powerful aracane users could transforms in such a beast without anything happening yet. It was interesting to se people smaller then him.
The pyromancer let his apprentice climbed on him, then he flapped his wings a few time just to be sure everything was alright. Then he flapped stronger and faster rising the dust around. His feet slowly leaving the safety of the ground. It was the first time he used that spell, the first time he transform into a dragon. The first time to fly also, but he did not wanted to scare the fire genisis.
He did seemed unstabble at first, but get used to it quickly. Perhaps that the young woman on his back would not notice since it's her first flight also. So he headed and towards the fire tempole but did a bit of circles over the time, not guessing this was the last peaceful day of such a beautiful city.
Nravee - September 8, 2008 03:10 AM (GMT)
Nravee was hunched over the spines, as she clenched onto them in a almost death grip as they went up. She stayed pretty much till, except for her her faster breathing, and he heart pounding in fear and excitement to be riding on a dragon for the first time, sure it wasn't a real dragon, but still, she was in the air flying! She couldn't help but smile as they flew, it was exhilarating. She soon relaxed more, and lifted her head up to look into the sky above her, then down at the ground below, and gasped. They were so high up, it was frightening, but then, it was almost beautiful, seeing the world below zip by.
She watched as Taras went from sight, and trees, and some small houses. She relaxed her grip slightly, letting a hand rest on the red scales.
