Title: Night at the Inn (Open RP)
Erin Shander - May 25, 2008 10:05 AM (GMT)
Heavy rain was fallin down from the dark clouded sky creatings small pools of water on the street outside, one could see many jumping over them to avoid getting wet. Erin was lucky she did not have to be outside in a weather like this one, the young storm kindler sat at a table next one one of the windows, she watched the rain as he feel down, a little now and then her eyes moved around the inn, it was crowded with people. Most of them only there because of the rain. She liked to examined them all and guess what kinds if people they where. Most of them she could tell was artists, it was something about the way they walked and acted.
A young man walked over to Erin. "Good evening young lady" he said and bowed, Erin smiled at him. "Good evening" she said. The man returned the smile. "I was going to ask if you wanted something to eat or drink? It´s a cold evening and you have not been eating anything since you got here"
Erin giggled, then she nodded. "You might be right about that, I could use something to eat. I will have some beef with potatos and vegetables. I would also like to have some tea" The man nodded. "As you wish miss, it will be with you right away" then he bowed again and walked away. Erin followed him with her eyes, then she shook her head and looked out the window again.
DornKoon - May 25, 2008 10:17 AM (GMT)
Alice slowly walked down the street as the rain feel around her, but she did not seem to mind it at all, she calmly walked around a pool of water and lifted her dress slightly not to get it wet. The elven lady stopped outside the inn and looked at the door for a moment as if she was thinking of something, then she shook her head, opened the door and walked inside. She lowered her hood and looked around the crowded room, it was very much people and Alice did not like it very much when it was to much people. She sighed deeply and walked further inside, her eyes moved around the room to see if there was any place where there was not to much people. Suddenly she noticed a young lady sitting at a table in a corner by the window, she was the only one there...that would have to do.
Alice moved across the inn towards the table where Erin was, she smiled at the young girl. "Excuse me, but would you mind if I sit here? There is not much room anywhere else." The elven sorceress did not know for sure, but this girl was not human, her eyes looked strange and not like anything normal, she was no demon or vampire. But what was she? Well that would have to be a later problem.
Piter - May 26, 2008 12:27 AM (GMT)
Piter skulked about the inn, looking for some interesting people to visit with. The ginger spotted a mouse sneaking about, a piece of bread in it’s small jaws. Piter circled it widely, having caught it’s attention with a low purr. It disappeared into a forest of legs and shoes, camouflaged. He looked about warily, nipping at the fingers of a man who reached down to pet him. The mouse was spotted not too far away. Piter seized the chance and flicked his tail, lining the poor rodent in purple flames.
As the small brown mouse ran, nose twitching, piter followed close behind, following the purple that stood out so clearly amid the darkness. The cat climbed onto a chair and made a final leap, capturing the mouse with one stretched paw. A bit of magical force boke it’s neck, making it go limp in hs paw, purple fire no longer finding something to bond to, so it faded away. Victoriously, The ginger cat picked it up in it’s mouth, walking over to a nearby table to eat his meal.
As the cat climbed up, he saw it was occupied by a woman, who was being asked by woman with blond hair if she could sit (the blond). Piter hopped up onto the table with the mouse and lay down in the middle of the two, looking them over with emerald eyes that gleamed with contained intelligence. The cat began purring as it gnawed.
Fara're - May 26, 2008 01:05 AM (GMT)
The rain had been pouring steadily for many hours now and Fara're was drenched to the bone. Her traveling cloak was little protection against the forces of nature. She shivered fiercly as she continued walking. She hated the rain. At least she was in the elven form and did not have to deal with wet fur...
The young elven were-tiger was greatful when she at last arrived at a town. Perhaps she could finally find a warm inn and take hot bath. Noise met her as she opened the door to The Broken Strings.
Water ran freely off her cloths and hair as she walked across the room. She felt and looked very much like a drenched rat. As she approached the bar tender he looked up at her with tender eyes.
"Ye look a bit cold lass," he said in an almost fatherly tone. "I can have one of the girls make you up a bath and get ye some dry cloths."
"That would be very nice," she said through chattering teeth.
She handed him a few coins in payment before following one of the serving girls to the bath house. She came out an hour later feeling warmed and refreshed. Her black hair was dry and hung around her face in soft waves. She had been given a simple tunic and pants to wear until her own cloth could be cleaned and dried.
As she came back into the tavern she saw a ginger cat catch a mouse. The feline then jump up onto a table with two women and began to enjoy its dinner. Fara're smirked, she recognized that cat all too well.
She walked over to the table and gave Piter a scratch on the top of his head. "Hello there my friend," she said. "Good to see you again."
She then smiled to the other two women. "And hello to you too," she said warmly. "Who might you ladies be? I am Fara're."
Ornell - May 26, 2008 07:23 AM (GMT)
The rain outside was something she actually didn't really mind. It was a nice change from the desert's dryness. Valen was supposedly at the tavern already, so she walked along the streets at an easy pace. She had gone to the trouble to get proper attire for this sort of weather. She wore a finely made leather cloak with a hood that tied in the front. The entire thing had been waxed when it was cured, so the water simply beaded on it and rolled down. She had spent more then a few coins on it, but it would no doubt be very useful.
Then she spotted it, The Broken Strings. She let a hand slip out from under her cloak to push the door open. The sounds of music and conversation broke out of the tavern as she opened the door. The place was rather full, so she made her way inside so the door could close behind her. Ornell lifted her hood off her head so it wouldn't try to undo her hair and settled it about her shoulders. Watter dripped behind her as she walked over to the bar. She nodded to the barkeep. He rose an eyebrow at her and she shook her head. She wasn't here to recruit people for another quest this time. This time she was just looking for her dragon. She leaned against the bar and asked, "Have you seen Valen?"
He nodded and jurked a thumb toward the stars. "Upstairs, he should be down in a bit."
Ornell nodded. "Thank you. I'll wait then. Some mead please." She said, handing him the coin. As he went to get her drink she glanced around the place. It was then that she saw what looked like that cat she had met in the library, the one who could talk. Curious.
DornKoon - May 26, 2008 09:18 AM (GMT)
((Okey, since there have been so many different people here I think I better remove Erin from this one, or I will just be confused....she was never there. :P That makes things better.))
The woman nodded and she had nothing agains that Alice sat down, but she said that she had to go and do some things and the table was hers. Alice smiled, all with the help from her change peoples memories, she did not even have to move to do it. The elven lady calmly looked around and was suprised when a cat jumped onto the table with a dead mouse. Her eyes examined it for a moment. Then her eyes moved up when the next stranger arrived.
Alice raised an eyebrow and examined the woman that was talking with her eyes. "Hello yourself" she said with a friendly voice. "My name is Alice, nice to meet you Fara're. Won´t you have a seat? There is so much people here today with the rain and all, one have to share there places, I do not mind to have people to talk with."
Her eyes moved to the cat and she shook her head. "It looks like there are others that have invited themself to" she giggled and looked back at Fara're to see what she was going to say.
Fara're - May 26, 2008 03:38 PM (GMT)
Fara're smiled as she took a seat. "Thank you," she said.
"Yes it is nice to have people to talk to," she said. She then smirked and gave Piter a knowing look. She wondered how long it would take before the cat decided to talk. It would be interesting to see Alice's reaction.
She looked out the window to see the rain still coming dowing heavily. Fara're was very happy to be inside, dry and warm. "Did you get caught in that storm?" she asked. "I got soaked to the bone. Was not a pleasent experience."
Fara're smiled in a friendly manner to Alice waiting for her reply. She reached over to Piter again and began to scratch him head again.
DornKoon - May 26, 2008 03:50 PM (GMT)
"Yes it is nice to have people to talk to,"
Alice nodded. "Yes I have to say that it is nice to have peope to talk with" she said and then suddenly a man arrived with a plate. "Oh...where is the young lady that ordered this?" he asked and looked confused. "Oh she had to go but I can take it" Alice said with a sweet smile. The ma hesitated for a moment, then he returned the smile and placed the plate with food in front of Alice, then someone else shouted at him and he had to go.
"Did you get caught in that storm?" she asked. "I got soaked to the bone. Was not a pleasent experience."
Alice laughed and shook her head. "No I was not, I was ready for it since I saw this very morning that it was going to rain much" she took a slight sip from her drink, but she was still looking at Fara're. "I like it when it is raining...but only when I´m in a dry place where I can watch it" she giggled slightly and placed the cup of tea on the table surface again.
Piter - May 26, 2008 05:50 PM (GMT)
Piter finished his mouse and purred as Fara're scratched his head. He leaned into her hand, putting more pressure on the spot. Looking about, he spotted the woman he had seen in the library, the one wh did not act all too surprised. Piter shrugged and looked to The blonde woman, Alice she said her name was. The ginger cat tossed the rest of the mouse to the side and patted his paws together to clean off the bits of brown fur that stuck there.
Piter looked to Fara're and smiled. "That's the spot, my good friend. Glad to see you again." Piter said pleasantly. He nodded, looked to alice, and bowed lightly, as he did with all the others he introduced himself to, mostly women as it happened. "And nice to meet you. Alice, was it? I'm Piter. Your average magical talking cat." He winked and stood to walk over to her slowly, tail swaying back and forth to watch her reaction.
A woman entered the tavern and caught his eye. It was another woman whom he'd met in the library. He watched her, caught her looking his way, and nodded in recognition as he remembered her name. Ornell.
DornKoon - May 26, 2008 06:51 PM (GMT)
Alice raised an eyebrow when the cat started to talk. She knew there could be talkin animals since her grandmother had one living in her house when she was alive. She was over 100 years old after all and had seen many places.
"And nice to meet you. Alice, was it? I'm Piter. Your average magical talking cat."
Alice nodded calmly and even if she was suprised there was nothing to see in her face and her eyes was still normal. "Nice to meet you to Piter" she said and took another sip from her tea. "Not very common to run into a talking cat, I give you that. Remind me of old Thempus, a talking cat that lived with my grandmother when she was alive" she thought for a moment. "Now when I think about I do not know what ever happened to him. He could still be alive, whould be fun to see him again" she smiled and returned her gaze to Piter. "Sorry about that, my mind walked away for a moment" she slowly began to eat food from the plate.
Her gaze slowly moved around the room, she watched the people but there was many of them and not very likly that anyone had noticed the talking cat over all the others voices inside.
Fara're - May 27, 2008 02:39 PM (GMT)
Fara're glanced about the room. It was full of people, but none seemed to take notice of the talking cat. She figure his voice just melded in with the rest of the crowd. That was fine with her, no need to attract unneeded attention. She did that enough as it was all by herself.
She smiled at Piter. "You are so easy to please," she said with a small laugh. "A warm place, a mouse, and a willing person to scratch your ear and all is well with you."
She then lifted her gaze to Alice, her fellow elf. Well...fellow elf in a sort. This woman still had no idea that she was speaking with a were-tiger.
"Your grandmother had a talking cat?" she asked. "Was she magic user?"
Fara're had always been interested in magic. She just could never cast anything...well not without accidently blowing something up and getting those around her very angry. The only thing she knew how to do was to preform a simple healing spell. But that was not uncommon among monks like herself. But as bad as she was at magic, she did make up for it in her other skills.
DornKoon - May 27, 2008 02:52 PM (GMT)
Alice was eating from her her food under silence, she listened to the people around her to see if she could learn something new from the world, but most of them was talking about uninteresting things. "The night is coming" said the voice inside of her head, but she ignored it for now, it was very good to say things in crowded places where Alice had no interest to listen to it.
"Your grandmother had a talking cat?" she asked. "Was she magic user?"
Alice moved her gaze from the food to the woman at her table. "Yes she was a sorceress just like me" she said. "In fact I think that Thempus was my grandfather, he would have been transformed in some magic experiment and could never get his body back again. Of course I never found out the truth since none wanted to tell me anything about it when I asked. But I was not stupid, my grandfather was gone since before I was born and the cat had the same name as him." she laughed to herself and took another sip from her tea. "Mother told me when I was a child I would be as powerful as granny was, I start to think she was right about it. My magic is growing."
She looked down at the cat on the table. "So then I guess your not a real cat? An magic accident perhaps?"
Ornell - May 27, 2008 04:16 PM (GMT)
((OOC: Aww, but I wanted Ornell to meet Erin. :( oh well, perhaps another time. Sorry for the sucky post...))
It took a moment for her drink to show, but she smiled at the barkeep and nodded her thanks for the mead. She took a sip first so it would be less likely to spill and then made her way through the crowd to the table to hear them talking about magic and people being turned into cats. She wondered how much these women really knew about how things like that worked. She herself was trapped in a body not her own, but the original occupant had left and if she didn't want to die she was going to have to stick with it.
"Hello Piter. I see you found some interesting company. You do well with the lady's I do believe. Friends of your's perhaps?" Ornell asked the cat. Her tone held no mallace and a smile tuffed at her lips. The one woman was petting him and the other was simply talking about magic. Ornell ideally wondered if that one knew any fire magic or if she simply used another type of magic.
The ex-avatar didn't invite herself to take a seat nor did she ask to join them. Doing so would make Valen feel obligated to join her at this table when she was here to talk to him about something else entirely. Not that talking to someone familiar, or unfamiliar for that matter, to pass the time while she waited was a bad idea. It was funny to see them sitting around a table with a cat in the center of it. Irony perhaps? Who knew.
Piter - May 27, 2008 09:05 PM (GMT)
Piter smiled at the lot, looking at Fara're, the one who possibly understood him the most. "Absolutely." He nodded matter-of-factly and chuckled. He listened to her talk to Alice, feeling somewhat interested in her past. "Accident? hmm. Something like that, i guess." His words held truth, her guess was scarily close to the mark, however. only one had been allowed to hear the entire tale. She was fairly close, though. His creation held some purpose, and some accident as well.
He purred for a small while and looked at ornell, wondering why she was here, of all places. And why she did not take a seat. Waiting for someone, perhaps? He did not know her well enough to make any guesses.
Piter laughed at her comment. "That i do. Women seem quite a bit more accepting and friendly. They don't try to crush me with a club." He laughed in remembrance, but it was true. Few men were willing to accept a speaking cat.
"Oh, I've just met alice here. Fara're i've only met once before. How are you doing?" He spoke smoothly. He'd only met ornell once as well, in the library.
Erin Shander - May 27, 2008 10:18 PM (GMT)
Alice smiled at Ornell when the cat said her name. "Nice to meet you miss" she said with a sweet voice, she calmly took one last sip from the tea, then she placed the empty cup on the table. Her eyes slowly moved to the closest window and she watched the rain for a few seconds, then her gaze returned to the others. "So what are you all doing in this village on such a rainy evening?" she asked. "If I mat be so rude to ask?" she smiled friendly at them and moved some hair from her face as she talked.
She would have to get to know more people if her plan was to work, she needed them to trust her and this was a good start for this day. A very good one to.
((Wrong account again!! I´m very good at this don´t you think so? :P Well no big deal...))
