Because I'm bored and don't yet feel like getting to my work:
Ally of the Woodlands:
Name: Web
Description: The caster heaves a thick webbing out of his/her mouth that firmly binds to targets. The holding power of the web is much greater than Entangle, and it acts as a projectile, so it can affect those in flight. The maximum range for the spell is variable based on the power put into the spell before expelling the web. Extreme concentration can result in webs flying high enough to tangle the wings of some dragons. The web material itself is difficult to cut or burn, and it contains minor toxins that will slowly daze anything caught in its grasp. (Epic Spell)
Cost: 200
Name: Adaptation
Description: Allows the target to gain appendages more suitable to the current environment. This includes gills, webbed fingers/toes, temperature resistant skin, basic wings good for gliding, and other non-magical traits. The traits are dependant on the enviroment of the caster at the time of casting, and this spell has a duration of half an hour. (Non-Epic)
Cost: 80
Name: Silent Hunter
Description: For the next half an hour, the forest makes noise to cover the footsteps of the caster. This can be in the form of rustling grass and bushes to creaking treess. The noise covers a large enough area that the caster can jog lightly and not be heard. Any faster movements or excessive noisemaking may be heard over the forest, and the caster may be detectable. (Non-Epic)
Cost: 60
Death's Kiss:
Name: Sever Soul
Description: The ties between a target's body and soul are cut. This does not remove the soul from the body, so the target does not die. The affected target slows to a halt and becomes dazed with a lifeless expression. They are helpless until the soul can rebuild the ties that were cut, which usually takes at least a few minutes. Those with the Strong Soul feat are only stunned for a few seconds as they shake off the spell. (Epic Spell)
Cost: 150
Earthe Magic:
Name: Sink Hole
Description: Creates a sink hole which slowly expands. The ground falls away, consuming structures, plantlife, and creatures. Those caught in the growing hole are trapped while debris continues to rain inward, and they likely take damage from the falling materials. (Epic Spell)
Cost: 150
Before I get into detail about a couple of them, I'd like to mention I'm fond of the idea of all of them, but only see three of them as potential spells.
As far as web goes, I think it should be nerfed slightly. All that power packed into one big loogey seems a bit much, even for an epic. Distance, ok; stronger than entangle, ok; but not so sure on the poison.
I love the idea of adaptation, but it kinda takes away from both PrCs and buyable objects in the shop. What I'd really like to see is a shapeshifting PrC over this spell, or even have this spell as the first rank in said PrC.
And as odd as it seems, I absolutely love the prospect of Sever Soul. Now, I know someone's going to come in here saying how pointless or overpowered it is, but I say, "BAH!" Think about it: anyone buying this spell is going to be completely evil, and what do completely evil people like to do? Incompacitate their target and rant on and on about how awsome they and their evil plan is, laughing maniacally at the target's futile attempt at twarting the evil-doer. What better spell to give to one such villain? It causes little immediate harm to the victim, and killing characters is only allowed if given permission by said character's owner.
Another senario for Sever Soul is if it's two goodies against one baddie. Think (I know, awful me) Star Wars episode 1 where Qui Gon and Obi were fighting Maul and Obi had to watch Qui Gon die. The spell could be used as a similar senario with the Severed frantically piecing themselves back together while their long-time partner is getting the snot kicked outa them by some demonspawn.
I put these together randomly at four in the morning. Feel free to be critical since I have no real attachment to them.
The reasoning behind Adaptation is to provide a non-shapeshift/alter self alternative to a more naturally based character. The abilities granted are fully achievable through the Durothil's shop, which take away from the items and PrCs as it is ;) . This is just a way to keep a nature character more "pure" in a sense.
Dumping the poison in the epic-wad spell (web) is a very fair change. It was an afterthought anyway to keep in line with the other poison spells that seem to dominate the nature shop.
Sever soul is just fun, and yes, the ranting and raving of an evil character did pop into my mind.
