A slight breeze flows inthrough the open door as a dark figure looms in from the bright surroundings. "I've come to.... applie... for this.... school...." his voice echoed as if he had taught himself the language. He stepped forward revealing his face. His body was well built but seemed starved, as if he hadnt eaten for weeks. He wore red, nothing but red from head to toe. His pants were the only black garment he wore. His hair was a red as blood dripping from a freshly mutilated corpse; His eyes also red like the shining sun at dawn. His face.... his face was the most interesting thing about him. It was as pale as a baby deer, starving and cold.
A scar twelve inches long streached from the top of his head, over an eye; his nose; and his mouth. But, the most amazing feature was the two long pointed teeth hanging from his grin.

After deciding she should practice with her new longbow, Solaris had made her way to the academy for the second time, having already been there once. It was obvious, of course, that she was in her werefox form considering she had both fur, fangs and tail. Her quiver of arrows could be seen on her back, the longbow held in one hand. She paused at the entrace, looking over at Vincent curiously, having heard his words. "You need not apply for this school sir, all are welcome to train on their sands," she finally said to him, a faint smile spreading across her muzzle.

"oh... thank... you. Ive .... only.... just .. learnes... dis..... laangag. Is zer a fist.. fight.. room... i am afraid i dont..... have...a svord." Vincent leaned against the wall looking at the woman.

The smile grew, exposing her own ivory fangs as she nodded, understanding his words easily. "Yes the training sands, are this way. There are wooden and metal swords you can practice with... I'll be happy to show you," Solaris added as she moved towards the corridor that would lead to the training rooms.

Vincent walked through the coridors following the werefox. He looked amazed at what he saw. Pictures of many things hung from the walls. Every so often the past a door with two people fighting on the other side. Finnally they came to a large room with sand on the ground. Wooden swords were manteled every few inches.

Solaris glanced back at the vampire following her, swallowing her chuckle at his expression. She looked forward as they stepped out onto the sands. "Well, here we are." She waves a clawed hand towards the swords. "There are the swords," she added incase he had not noticed them.

Vincent waked over to a rack and picked up a sword. TO test it he swung it against a wall. With a loud crack the sword shattered into peices. "..... i suppose.... that will..... work? Shall we duel?" Vincent pulled a sword out from the same rack and readied it.

Solaris chuckled, depositing both her longbow and her arrows in a safe spot before following him to the rack and claiming a sword for her own. "Alright though I admit I have only used a sword a few times, so bare with me if I'm horrid."

"we Shall see" Vincent said. He quikly lunged forward at solaris. The wooden sword flying at her lower chest.With a quick wrist movement the sword went streight towards he face.

Solaris watched his movements then instantly brought her sword up, deflecting his attack though just barely. "I knew I should have taken Vulpes up on his offer," she muttered beneath her breath before swinging her own sword, aiming at his legs.

Vincent jumped up almost tripping over his own sword, and landed with a "thump". He slidded to the side and aimed for solaris's kneecaps.

Solaris dodged back as his sword swept by then moved forward, swinging her sword for his arm and upper chest.

Vincent stood up only to get wacked in the face by he sword. "ow my face!!!!!" vincent stood up and sat down. Vincent then disapeared.

Solaris instantly dropped the sword to crouch down before him. "Are you oka..." She trailed off as he disappeared, looking around in wideeyed surprise.

Vincent scilenlty appeared behind her "you should look more carefully. all i did was cast i little cloaking spell. Not even a very good one. You couldve seen the mist." Vincent said aloud. He slowly withdrew another wooden sword from a shelf.

Solaris got to her feet with a shrugg, picking up her sword as she did so. "Well, I do not deal with magic, nor does my brother.... How would I notice?" She shrugged a second time before stepping back and bringing up her sword in a defense position, waiting for his attack.

Vincent stood grinning. "well isnt that... to bad... Hmm my ...knoledge of this language... gets better every ... moment." Vincent said somthing quetly and dissapeared again. "i see you. but do you see me?" Vincent reapreadred behind her again and striked.

She twirled on her heel, swinging the sword up and catching the blade by the hilt. She surpressed a yelp when the blade slid farther, smashing her fingers. Instead, she danced back for a moment then returned with the swing aimed for his midsection.

Vincent used the moment to block and then kick at her legs, then spinning his body aiming his sword at her head.

Solaris jumped back from his kick, then moved forward without thinking. She turned her face aside at the last moment so that the point of the wooden sword caught her along one furred cheek, sending her back a few feet from him to press a careful hand to the scratch. Though shallow, as where most cuts made by wooden blades, it had already begun to bleed enough that it could be seen seeping through her red fur.

Vincent dropped his sword and looked at its blade. The sword had been broken. Its was nothing but a large wooden shard. "Im sorry" Vincent said, But his eyes were focused on the blood. Hunger was in his eyes. He smashed the sword and slowly begain to pull somthing from behind his jacket. He handed a red cloth to solaris and watched the floor. He didnt want to bite her; she had been truley nice to him. The first out of many people hed met. "You diserve a free shot" Vincent said lowering his gaurd.

Solaris caught the cloth and pressed it against the scratch, waving away his apology. "No, don't apologize. It's my fault, I should have been watching... And no, as I said, it's my fault not yours. You dont deserve to be hit because of my stupidty."

Vincent picked up the shards of the sword and stared at them. He shoved one into his left shoudler blade, another into his leg, and the last one into his fighting arm. "Now i cant block dodge or attack quikly. You WILL get a free shot" VIncent pulled the shards out of his wounds blood gushing to the sand. Vincent picked up a new sword and readied himself.

Solaris made no move towards her dropped sword, instead she reached out her freehand and snatched his sword from him. "No, I refuse your offer and now we're going to tye up those wounds before you lose anymore blood."

"bah!" vincent called. "Why bother" Vincent picked up the sand from the floor and shoved it in his mouth. "il just eat what i lose" he said swallowing the sand. "Now lets fight!" Vincent charged forward and missed solaris hitting a bag of sand.

Solaris muttered something about males beneath her breath, dropping down and picking up her sword. She jumped up and swung the sword around, aiming for his side.

Vincent being hit in the side stepped back a bit then charged again. A full downward thrust with his sword. Even more blood spilled out of vincents wounds.

She dodged back from this, not sure how she should parry. "You really should bind those," she remarked, eyeing all the blood.

"i think.. you might be... right" and vincent fell to the ground. "god im an idiot"
He begain to eat some of the blood filled sand warily. "Ok no more stupidity today." VIncent pulled out more red cloths from his back and bound his wounds. "Kinda ...... tired....."

Solaris shook her head, her sword dropping to the ground a second time before she crouched down beside him, her bushy tail falling still against the ground. "Yes, no more stupidty today... Here, you should sleep and I'll make sure that no one bothers you."

"Sleep...." Vincents eyes closed and his upper body fell. Loud snores begain to echo throught the school. The red cloths around his wound slowly begain to turn white ashis blood was reobsorbed by his body. The cloths were entirly white in a minuet as if they were bleatched.

Solaris watched for a few moments to make sure he really was asleep then rose to her feet and disappeared down one of the corridors. She returned a few minutes later with a pack and sat down beside him, her tail curling around her crossed legs.

She dug through the pack till she found what she wanted, pulling out a toren shirt, some thread and a needle. Once the needle was threaded, she sat, sewing up the tear silently while Vincent slept.

Hours past , vincent dreamt about things he had planned befor.... Like how hed wanted to become a knight; practicing shivalry and streigth. Now... he was the exact opposite. A vampire.. why me... A picture came into his mind. A blazing flag, beasts and demons lined up. Then a horn sounded. Vincent charged into battle smashing every person the came into his path. Then somthing..... huge... white.... something of heavenly origin stood infront of him. It growled its flowing manes flew in the wind. Then it took a step forward engulfing vincent with his foot. Vincent awoke! hands sweating heart beeting. "what was that thing?"

Solaris glanced up from the third shirt she was on, putting in the last few stitches before she spoke. "What was what? There is nothing here besides you and I, so I would guess that you just had a nightmare."

Vincent was breathing hard."it felt so real though... as if i were actually there." Vincent stood up, sweat dropped from his face. "i was in battle..... it was a giant.... horse maybe?.... Does this place have a bestiary in it?" Vincent had to find out what that thing was.

Solaris returned the shirt, needle and thread to her pack before shaking her head. "It might have been a vision or a nightmare.. A bestiary?" She asked in confusion, not understanding what he wanted and what the word meant.

"bestairy... its like a dictionary for creatures, beasts, and speices; or perhaps i should go to the acadamy of magic to find what i need." Vincent was sweating like hed just ran twelve miles.

"Calm down, your safe here.. I promise." Her head titled to one side before she nodded and got to her feet, the pack on her back and a hand held out to help him up. "I'm sure that they'll have it in the magic's library and if not then it might be in the Talas Library.. I'll take you there if you'd like."

"sure, that'b ........ gen...er..ous" vincent said searching for the right word. Vincent grabbed solaris's hand and stood up. Vincent pulled his coat on and pulled a sword from its inside and buckled its sheif to his belt with the sword in it. "sorry about that, didnt know who i could trust" vincent said smiling "shall we go then?"

Solaris nodded, "That's quite alright..." She turned and leaned down, picking up both her quiver and her longbow then straightened and brushed off the sand from her breeches. She shifted skins, as some called it, returning to her human form. Her hair, a rich black, was fixed back in a braid and her skin was a warm tan from being out in the sun a little too much. "There, I'm ready now."
