Title: Glory seeker's realm redone

Master Ace - May 13, 2008 05:30 PM (GMT)
I finally got the first bit of the armor redone the way I wanted to and I'm rather pleased with the way it came out. The changes are much bigger than they were for the weapons and you'll just have to switch out the armor for the nearest thing. Calmonah wood is essentially the Darkwood shield with extra spice and I explain the magical properties by being very flexible to magic which which would explain the dark and warped nature of the forest. I may later add adamanite, but I'm not sure if we need it or if it would be better replaced by an original material.

To use the shop add the material price to the price of the armor piece you want along with any add-ons, which aside from masterwork will only be found in armor and defensive equipment.

Check Calmonah Wood again: "can hold three enchantments instead..."

Good catch. ^_^ It's fixed now.

Why are you re-doing all the shops, I don't get it? Is this something you're doing to appease your personal tastes? Really, most stuff is fine how it is, sans nit-picking. :s

Because I'm redoing some of the shops because I'm strongly inclined to organize things to make them easy to use for whomever the shop keeper is and clear to those who would like to buy things... and he offered to help via suggestions. This one has me more confused though while I was more looking for a simpler shop.

I really don't like the way this one is done at all. It's like it's more important to know what everything is made of then it is to know what you can buy. That's incredibly confusing... This same sort of method was why I didn't like the Masterwork as an add on with each type of weapon.

Look at it this way, What's the difference between an elven shield and Druid shield or the Drow shield for that matter? Why is the Darkwood shield in the magic armor shop despite being noted as non-magical? Are Dragon scale shield's small, medium, or large in size? Why is there only Masterwork for helms and bracers? This is to answer those kinds of question and replace vagueness with details, albeit perhaps too much detail.

Edit: I did it that way because I wanted a variety of materials, but didn't feel like finding a new pic for ever material of the item. Seems find to be, but then again I made.

I just think it is incredibly confusing to have add-ons before you have anything to add on to them. That's like saying "It comes in red, blue, orange, and green and can be made of wood, canvas, or plastic!" and then adding on at the end, as a side note, "tent"

You seem like a shady used car salesman doing it that way, or something!

It should be something more like:

Item's name and description
-in wood, cost
-leather, cost
-steel, cost
-etc.

Master Ace - May 14, 2008 01:18 AM (GMT)
lol, I see what you mean now. I just started it off that way because the add-on covered all off the items. Never thought about moving them, but I see an improvement after doing so. ^_^

But, Ultimately the material of the armor is far more important that the individual armors which only differ in size. A wooden small shield is drastically worse than Dragon scale small shield, particularly if it happens to be a red dragon against a fire attack. A wooden tower shield only really covers a larger area than a wooden small shield. I like having it set up like this, otherwise there would be a lot of back and forward to buy armor if it were as you suggested.
