Title: Poison Ivy (Open)
Lilith Vie LeMonte - March 27, 2008 08:52 PM (GMT)
Lilith sat at the table in the Green Gryphon. Even though her mood was sour she had still taken the time to make herself look good. It was an obsession of sorts. She had to look good before she could set foot outside into the world of judging eyes, obsessive eyes, eyes she loved to have drink her in. And so she had spent a little extra time in her rented room, in this very inn, curling her blond locks so that they framed her beautiful face. She had applied rouge to her lips and kohl to her eyes. Her skin was already pale and divine, so she had no need to apply anything else. She had sat on the side of her bed and looked over the array of dresses in her closet before she selected a dark red dress that complimented her figure and skin, instead of make her seem paler.
Now she sat staring down at the food the barmaid had placed in front of her. She wasn’t very hungry and so she merely moved the food around the plate absently. She was still aware of the man hungrily running their eyes over her body, yet she didn’t care. She didn’t even like it this time. She was ignoring them and the few that approached her she had turned them away with a cold shoulder and a few words. Lilith sipped and her wine before letting out a sigh and staring at the wall of the Green Gryphon.
Kyrus Lynin - March 27, 2008 09:45 PM (GMT)
Kyrus entered the Green Gryphon in, he had dined here many times before and the place was familiar to him. He had his wings folded close to his body so as not to draw too much attention to them, the fine scaling on his skin was only just beginning to show and at the moment it gave him an exotic look. He had sharp eyesight and hearing and he looked about the Inn, looking for anyone he knew or any friends of his. Finding no one he gave a soft sigh, but then his eyes rested on a young woman sitting alone and he thought that perhaps she would like some company, he knew he liked company when it came his way, which it didn't all that often and so he put a warm smile on his face and trotted over to her. He coughed to gain her attention before he spoke.
"Hello my name is Kyrus and I was wondering if you would perhaps like some company, you look a tad lonely," he said politely and bobbed a polite bow as he had been taught was polite to do when meeting new people.
His amber eyes, like two golden pools ran over her out of a habit of analysing to see if a threat presented itself. He had had to do this in his wanderings as often people who didn't look like a threat were, one could never be too careful. He felt a russling under his left wing and parted it slightly so that a furry cat face peered out, followed by a fluffy body as the cat climbed up to sit on his shoulder, giving a soft mew.
Lilith Vie LeMonte - March 27, 2008 10:12 PM (GMT)
The grains of the wooden boards had blurred together in her sight by now. The colors blended into an odd shade of brown before her light green eyes. The usually sparkle in them had faded. They sat dully on her face, dropping to the grains on the floor when the wall had gotten too much. The food before her had hardly been touched and a barmaid took it away and replaced it with a drink. Lilith just nodded her thanks and swirled the glass between her fingers. She brought it to her lips when someone spoke to her. She waited until she finished and then she placed the glass back down on the table and stared into the distance a moment longer.
“You may sit if you wish to. My name is Lilith,” She motioned to the seat. Although she wasn’t lonely she wouldn’t turn away company. For some reason it didn’t mean much to her at the moment. At any other point she would have revelled in the company of a man. Now she merely accepted it. She wouldn’t turn him away but neither would she flirt or show any interested in... that way. Not tonight. She mood was overbearing her, although what bothered her the most of the complete lack of reason for the mood. Everything had been good since she had arrived in Imythess. Sure bad things had happened but nothing to change her ... personality! Still she was uninterested, distance, without any reason why.
Kyrus Lynin - March 27, 2008 10:53 PM (GMT)
Kyrus sat next to Lilith and studied her for several moments, he could tell that something bothered her, that she wasn't speaking much and he decided to ask about it. Perhaps she wouldn't turn away company but acting like this was in fact itself turning company away, no one wanted to be with someone who acted like this. It was childish but he would say that, humans they were curious creatures to say the least. He touched her had simply in a comforting gesture as something obviously upset her "What is wrong? I can clearly tell that something troubles you and brooding in this manner is not good, it can have....unforseen consequences," Kyrus said, knowing all to well of what he spoke. He caught the attention of a barmaid and ordered a meal and an ale then returned his attention to Lilith, he was silent for several moments "Please speak, that would help whatever is troubling you."
Lilith Vie LeMonte - March 28, 2008 06:09 PM (GMT)
Lilith pulled her hand out from under Kyrus’ and shot the man a warning look that clearly said “touch me again and pay the consequences”. Rage built up inside her and she wanted to snap at this man. He didn’t have to come and sit by her table if he didn’t want to. It was his choice to come and sit here and she did not like how he assumed he was equal to her, how he was allowed to touch her. The golden-haired beauty calmed herself and smothered the rage before it could reach her lips. She put on a sweet smile, and her voice dripped with sugary malice.
“Unforeseen consequences...” She mulled it over. “Anything I do would end in a consequence and then I’ll only have myself to blame for what comes next. Life is an unforeseen consequence and I assure you that it doesn’t bother me.” She raised her eyebrow at him and took another drink from the glass in front of her. She only shook her head slightly.
“If I do not know what is wrong I cannot speak of it, therefore it would not ease whatever is ‘wrong with me’. Besides Mr. Kyrus, who says you can be the one to sooth away whatever pain I may be feeling? I didn’t ask you to sit here.” She knew she was being snappy but she couldn’t help it. She let out a frustrated sigh, more with herself than anything, and downed the rest of her drink before calling over and maid and ordering another.
Kyrus Lynin - March 29, 2008 04:30 AM (GMT)
Kyrus smiled at her "No you misundertand, I do not mean that," he said "I have been through a lot so I thought I might be able to help you but if you would rather not speak of it then I understand." He studied her and listened when she spoke of him sitting here "Oh no I want to sit her," he said with another one of his smiles "I do not mean to offend you and I apologise, but forgive me I have forgotten to introduce myself. I am Kyrus Lynin." He listened as she spoke again "You are correct life is an ever continuing series of consequences but it is a thing to be lived. It is overcoming the consequences that makes things worthwhile," he said at her "let me buy you a drink," he said and when her next drink came he paid for it. For the first time he unfurled his wings so she could see them "Believe me I know how hard life can be, it was very hard at me for a long time."
Eliel - March 29, 2008 05:12 PM (GMT)
Eliel walked in to the bar, Gwen close at his heels. He looked around curiously and saw Kyrus. He was not truly surprised, but it was odd to be seeing him everywhere. Perhaps they had the same destination in mind, and were merely travelling the same route. Gwen walked over to him, More interested in his cat than anything. It seemed the housecat had caught her interest better than any other animal could, save for a tasty morsel of a bird. He laughed at her behaviour and walked over to the pair.
"I guess Gwen gave me away." He laughed and looked at Kyrus' company. He frowned for a moment, trying to think of where he had seen her before. "Hello, i'm sorry for staring, but i feel i've met you before, some time ago..." He shrugged and bowed respectfully. "In any case, I'm Eraspeola, going by Eliel." He frowned again. Deja vu. He smiled and stood, not wishing to sit unless invited. He had forsakedn a rather antisocial and rude lifestyle for a more respectful one.
Then it hit him. "Ah, i remember you now. It was months ago, at at Richimon Lake. I was the fellow who dropped from the tree." He laughed at the momory. He was captivated by her then, and was still somewhat taken by her. He smiled pleasantly and patted Gwen.
Lilith Vie LeMonte - March 29, 2008 06:35 PM (GMT)
She let him buy her the drink, and thanked him for it. Why was she acting this way? She decided that she would just have to shake it off, try and act normal at least, if not herself. She tried to lighten the weight of her shoulders and relax her body, settling into a more comfortable position. She tried to shake off the ominous feeling that hovered in her mind and enjoy the musky smell of the Green Gryphon. She closed her eyes for a moment before expelling a pent up breath. Afterwards she looked a little more relaxed and at ease with whatever had been bothering her.
Just then a large cat came up to the table. It was a black panther. Why did that seem familiar to her? She watched the graceful creature, fascinated by her. Although Lilith wasn’t a stupid woman and so she made no move to touch the cat for she knew what they were capable of if they didn’t wish to be touched. She was content with watching her for now. For some reason she thought of the panther as a her.
Suddenly she knew why the panther was familiar to her. It was because the man who had just approached was familiar to her as well. “Hello Eliel. I’m Lilith. Don’t just stand there, come sit.” He obviously knew Kyrus by the light way he talked to him and she assumed that he would either think her rude or involved with Kyrus if she turned him away. And if neither were true why make them seem that way.
A smile lit up her face when he told her that he was the one who dropped out of the tree. “Ah yes I remember you!” Lilith tossed her hair and settled her head on one hand to gaze at the man. “If I recall right you never told me about your...” She tried to remember what it had been. “Usual mischief,”
Eliel - March 29, 2008 06:58 PM (GMT)
Eliel laughed and sat down. "Thank you." He looked at her briefly, then smiled at gwen's strangely flirtatious attitude towards the cat. He sook his head and patted hers lovingly. Once again, he turned his attention to Lilith.
"It's nice to see you again." he ordered an ale from the barmaid. He smiled at her, slipping a couple coins into the woman's pocket with a wink. She blushed and walked off quickly. Eliel laughed and turned back to his company. "I guess i never did, did i?" He smiled and nodded his head towards the barmaid, who was bringing drinks to their table. He laughed.
"Small stuff, mostly. Bounties, flirting, the works." He smiled warmly and called off Gwen, who was about to pick up the cat. She perked up her ears and walked over to Lilith. She purred, obviously remembering the woman. Eliel smiled and set an armed hand on her head, scratching lightly. The purrs sounded like a rumble more than anything, especially for the big cat. He shrugged and put his hands in his lap, until the barmaid came along. He recieved his ale, and she handed out the other drinks.
"So what have you been up to?" He smiled behind his mug, drinking the amber liquid. He set down the mug and sighed, looking quite content. Gwen looked at him and he sighed, reaching down with the mug and poured a bit into his hand. She lapped it up slowly. He laughed heartily and set the mug down.
Lilith Vie LeMonte - March 29, 2008 08:53 PM (GMT)
Lilith laughed lightly. The feeling of unease she had stayed with her but she had firmly decided to ignore it. “The works hmm,” She eyed the Gwen who had made her way over. Lilith put out one hand for the panther to sniff at and recognize her before she used the other one to pat under her chin. The great rumble that issued from the cat made her smile.
“Me? Hmm...” Lilith wondered where to start. What with meeting Lokiri things had become... interesting. “I met the most interesting person... her name was Raya.” Lilith suppressed a shiver and offered a little more of an explanation. “An odd girl from a different realm of existence entirely.” She suddenly decided she didn’t want to remember Raya. “But she’s not really that important,” She tapped her chin and thought about what else she had really been doing. “Mostly seeing the sights and meeting some new people.”
She returned her attention back to Gwen and found a spot behind the ears that most cats found hard to reach themselves. She scratched her there. “Nothing very exciting really... I’ve been thinking about how my wings haven’t been getting all of their use. Perhaps I need to go flying.” She shrugged a bit then turned the attention away from herself. Another sign that she was a bit off today. “What of you Kyrus?”
Kyrus Lynin - March 29, 2008 10:55 PM (GMT)
Kyrus nodded and smiled at Eliel "Hello again old friend, it is good to see you again," he flapped his large wings and show the man a look which showed that he too was interested in Lilith, that he too was taken by her. Ah the ways of women, they had such an affect on men. When Lilith spoke again he smiled warmly at her "What have I been up to?" he pondered and chuckled "well I recently travelled the mountains with my good friend Eliel here and visited the desert." When she mentioned her wings not getting as much exercise as they should he nodded "Yes, mine could see a bit of a work out too. Perhaps they and I should take a little flight together, if you want to that is," Kyrus blushed softly and wondered how Lilith would react to this. He then returned his gaze to Eliel, his golden eyes studying him and he leaned in to whisper in his friends ear so only he would hear it "She is pretty attractive isn't she?" he said and chuckled "I must admit she caught my attention when I first met her, I seem to be quite taken by her," he winked at his friend and teased him "I know you like her too, if only a little. May the best man win," he whispered to looked to Lilith to cover the whispered conversation "I was just telling Eliel here that I heard someone has just bet his record in Goblin Hunting."
Eliel - March 29, 2008 11:25 PM (GMT)
Eliel sighed as he recieved the signs from his good friend. Pity. Eliel shrugged. If it had to be so, he guessed it would. Luckily for Kyrus, Eliel liked him too much to pull him into a side alley and dig his claws into him. Gwen looked at Kyrus warningly. she knew what was going on too. Eliel laughed as he made his last comment.
"That's quite a feat. I'll have to meet this person." He grinned and winked at Lilith. A bit of friendly competition wouldn't hurt. Even though he had met the woman first, and had clearly shown signs of being quite interested, Kyrus found it to be a quaint little game. Eliel smiled at lilith. "A moment if you would." He said it nicely.
He seized Kyrus' shoulder and leaned towards his ear. "It's a dangerous game you play, friend. Don't play it too roughly." He told it in a friendly tone, but there was a slight hint of threat there. He so loved games. He excelled at them. It was in his nature. Laughingly, he leaned back into his seat and put a pleasant look on his face. Gwen purred again.
"You should come hunting bounties with me. It's not just goblins. There's others, like humans, if that's more to your liking. It's a bit more fun." He laughed warmly. His last encounter with a wanted bandit was quite interesting. He had done it in no time at all, but there was enough action in it to last a while. He was never satisfied, however.
Kyrus Lynin - March 29, 2008 11:40 PM (GMT)
Kyrus cocked his eyebrow at Eliel's comment and whispered back to him "Oh I know old friend, I have played it many times," he winked at him for continuing "I am somewhat of a master, you'll be lucky to top me." He said this in jest before whispering to him again "But everything is to be fair old friend," he said flapping his wings and putting a hint of threat into his own voice "you are dealing with a half dragon." Kyrus fixed Eliel with a teasing glare and flicked him lightly with his tail then turned back to Liliath "I know the nicest spot to fly, its above the Debon plains where the air is calming and the thermals plentiful." He again mock sneered at Eliel and tapped him with his tail in a teasing, playful gesture and he gave him a look which said 'You are quite outmatched old friend' he then laughed "Yes that would be fun friend, nah not goblins. Have you ever hunted Orcs? They are like goblins but larger and ever stupider."
Eliel - March 29, 2008 11:56 PM (GMT)
Eliel frowned at kyrus' comment. "I may be dealing with a half dragon..." He whispered. "But you are dealing with me." He rested his armed hand on kyrus' shoulder and gave a light squeeze, claws coming out just enough to prick the skin. Eliel grinned dangerously. "I dislike enemies, Kyrus, but if it comes to that..." He smiled and lowered his hand, drawing his cloak to the side to reveal a couple of daggers.
He smiled at lilith again. The mock-battle with kyrus was no longer about her as much as it was about their friendship in danger of drawing to a sickly close. Gwen sensed his feelings, and she stood next to him, tail wrapped around his ankle. eliel sighed and nodded to her. He released kyrus' shoulder and smiled.
"Orcs are big, yes, but their stupidity makes them less fun. I like more challenging fights, ones who can think of their next move." He smiled, looking at Lilith while he said it, but speaking to kyrus with a glint in his eye.
Kyrus Lynin - March 30, 2008 12:40 AM (GMT)
Kyrus smirked and whispered back to him "Oh you are confident, good. Then are little friendly competition shall be all the more entertaining," he said and took his hand shaking it "May the best man win," he whispered to him. Kyrus scowled at him in mock challenge "I shall try and give you a chance," he whispered and laughed, letting Eliel know that this was all in fun "Oh you think you could beat me?" he chuckled "well perhaps we should have a little spar some time." He admired Eliel, he didn't back down, he was his good friend and he enjoyed spending time with him "You are right, perhaps something smarter. How about...." he thought for several moments "Minotaur, they are both strong and smart." He watched to see how his old friend would like this idea.
Lilith Vie LeMonte - March 30, 2008 04:48 AM (GMT)
Lilith retracted her hands as Kyrus told her of the flying places which would be good. She put a finger next her lips and make a “hmm” sound, as though she were thinking it over. “Perhaps... It would be nice to fly, however it is much too late at the moment,”
When Kyrus pulled Eliel to the side Lilith brought the wine glass to her lips and smiled into it. She politely pretended to ignore their conversation, but she silently knew the basis of what was passing between them. Lilith pulled a barmaid to the side and whispered in her ear. The barmaid blushed and hurried away, returning with a sweet cake for Lilith. She thanked the woman and paid her for the dessert.
Attention was brought back from the whisperings of the men to involving her again and she nibbled on the cake and gave Eliel a sly smile. “I suppose you’ll have to win your goblin hunting title back now,” She winked at him and gave a small laugh, her earlier discomfort had been pushed to the back of her mind. The company was turning out to be more fun that she had expected.
“I hope you’re not planning to leave me out of this little hunting expedition.”
Eliel - March 30, 2008 11:32 PM (GMT)
Eliel glanced at Lilith in time for her last statement. He grinned and winked at her. "I have no such intention, my good lady. I would be honered if you chose to join me on my hunting." He smiled and shot Kyrus a smirk. Few words were behind that look, chief among them were 'i'm winning.' He laughed and hugged Gwen, who was eyeing Kyrus' leg hungrily.
"So where shall we go? I've gone below to the drow caves before, where i met kyrus here. Goblins seem to breed like rabbits without something there to loosen the population a bit." He winked at her. "I may have to lok into one of these enchanted bags soon, ones that seem to have no end. sounds pretty useful." He smiled in thought.
"I leave tomorrow, should you decide to accompany me." He ordered another ale for himself. The barmaid walked off quickly to fetch his drink. "They always go faster when you tip them, it seems." He smiled as she left. Eliel leaned back in the chair and stretched his fingers. They grew increasingly cramped in the gauntlets, but then they seemed to fit themselves to his hands.
"Increadible tools, these." He said to nobody in particular. Just whoever was listening. "I use them nearly every day. never run short of uses." He awed for a moment, then looked around the tavern for ny activity. A couple was chatting in the corner, shooting him a glance every now and then. He shrugged and drew his gaze back on Lilith.
Lilith Vie LeMonte - March 31, 2008 01:54 PM (GMT)
“I would love to,” Lilith sipped at her wine and thought about how well that would go over. It didn’t matter it would more than likely be fun, and an adventure, although between the few she’d been having would one more really be needed. Of course not needed but interesting and exciting nonetheless.
“Goblins,” Lilith mulled over the idea of hunting the horrid creatures. It wouldn’t be bad, more fun that not. She smiled. “Sounds like fun.” Well maybe ‘fun’ wasn’t the right word. It sounded interesting. It sounded different. Like something she had never done before and she wanted to do it. “Where shall we meet tomorrow then?” She was not going to miss this trip.
Lilith smiled at the barmaid who had come up to their table, although past that she paid her little attention. “Anyone goes faster with a little… motivation.” Too many times had that been true. But then again she couldn’t exactly condemn those who wanted a little extra money in their pockets. If she were offered enough of a sum she would probably hurry with her task as well… but she fancied herself a very high price.
Lilith finished her wine. What was that the third? It didn’t matter, she ordered another and reveled in the small buzz she had obtained for the night. Something still pricked at her. She wondered now if it was a mood or a warning.
Eliel - March 31, 2008 11:26 PM (GMT)
Eliel smiled at Lilith happily. She had accepted his offer, much to his pleasure. When she asked about where to meet, he thought it over for a moment. "Well, i'll be staying here for the night. So maybe we could meet here in the morning." He smiled at her. "What do you think?" He asked, sincerely curious. He watched her finish off her wine and order another. He cocked his eyebrow and sipped at his ale thoughtfully.
She had gone through a couple glasses already. He was surprised the woman wasn't swaying where she sat already. He marveled at this woman and took another sip. Gwen eyed him watchfully. He paused and scratched her behind the ears. "I know. This is my last one." He laughed and stared into her eyes.
Looking back at Kyrus, he winked. Their 'game' was drawing to a close. As much as Kyrus saw it as a game, Eliel just saw it as picking up where he had started at the lake so long ago. She was just as beautiful as ever, since he had first seen her walking into the waters. He sighed and drainjed the remnants of his ale. He looked at the empty glass sadly and set it down. Gwen nodded and purred.
Kyrus Lynin - April 1, 2008 12:06 AM (GMT)
Kyrus shrugged "And your certainly not leaving me out of this," he laughed "I enjoy goblin slaying just as much as the next man, or in my case dragon." He then turned to Lilith "So when would you like to take our flight? We could do it tonight before it gets too dark?" He looked to Eliel with a gleam in his eyes which said Touche old friend, she also accepted my offer. He flicked Eliel with his tail again, showing that he was on par with him at every step and he whispered to him "Cunning move there old friend, but you see she accepted my offer of a flight first. So I am ahead," he grinned and winked at him and then returned his attention to Lilith "You will like this flying spot above the Debon plains, warm air and thermals, wonderful views."
Lilith Vie LeMonte - April 1, 2008 12:10 AM (GMT)
Lilith swirled the red liquid around in the glass mesmerized by the motion. This would have to be her glass otherwise she probably would start slurring her words and by then she probably wouldn’t have the will to stop herself. She sipped this one slowly. It took her a moment to answer Eliel, her head was drifting and she was starting to think on slaying actual beasts. “Hmm that sounds good to me.” She smiled at him. “You’ll have to give me enough time to get ready and have breakfast,” She giggled into her glass and took another sip.
Lilith put the glass down on the table and reached out for Gwen again. Fascinated by the cat. “Will she be accompanying us?” Lilith scratched her under the chin again, enjoying the rumbling sound that was a purr for this beast.
As for Kyrus’ request she mulled it over. However the wine that flowed through her blood at the moment wouldn’t make for a very fun flying session. Especially in the darkening hours of the night. She slowly shook her head. “I’m sorry Kyrus but I believe that the wine will not permit me to go out tonight. Perhaps another time.” Best when light and not so tipsy she thought.
Kyrus Lynin - April 1, 2008 01:08 AM (GMT)
Kyrus nodded "Perhaps you are right, flying when you've had something to drink is not such a good idea," he said sounding hurt, misbelieving that she was favouring Eliel over him. The look he shot Eliel told many things "I shall accompany you on the hunt, it has been too long since I have been Goblin Hunting. My scimitar itches to slay them once more," he said and looking at Eliel. To make an enemy of a dragon was a bad thing, a very bad thing. A small puff of flame exited Kyrus mouth almost unbidden and his tail moved it his back, becoming slightly rigid. If Eliel knew of dragons he would realise this as signs of slight offence and slight aggression. A forked tongue flicked from his mouth, indicating his completed change into a dragon and an unbidden, low growl escaped his throat "Let us hunt these Goblins," he said and his golden eyes fell on Eliel again, this one was making their little game a challenge, but he would do well not to offend him.
Eliel - April 1, 2008 11:23 PM (GMT)
Eliel smiled happily. He noticed her a bit tipsy and smiled. "Had enough wine, friend?" He winked at Lilith. Eliel looked at Kyrus and shrugged. His temper rose a bit when he invited himself into a trip meant for eliel and lilith, for them to get to know each other better. Eliel glared at him, noticing the signs kyrus sent. He had seen them before, on the face of a dragon he had met, and to his sadness, had killed. The dragon was a child, which made his job a bit easier. The bounty was there for terrorizing a nearby farming community.
He felt anger towards Kyrus, the like of which he had not felt in some time. He was such a great friend, and eliel knew he had several relationships in the past. Meanwhile, Eliel had been alone for the duration of his long life. He had never caught a break for being the offspring of two races at war with each other. Either the women wanted to kill him or just rejected him. He sighed and started to order another ale, but felt a claw poke at his leg. He nodded and looked back at lilith.
"Of course Gwen will be accompanying us. I can't go anywhere without her, she's too protective." He patted the cat again and looked back at kyrus, his anger apparent. also apparent however, was his look of regret. He did not want to fight the man. He was one of his best friends. Of course, if he did turn fully draconian, he would be young, and thus much easier to kill. Trying to get used to new muscles, as well as new, weak ones, would be a problem for him.
Kyrus Lynin - April 2, 2008 06:52 PM (GMT)
Kyrus relaxed and patted Eliel on the back, showing it had just been a moment of folly then he smiled teasingly at his friend "So Eliel I hear you have got yourself a girlfriend," he teased "word travels fast and they say you two are together now." He smiled and clapped his friend on the back, showing that before had just been a momentary flight of folly and that there were no hard feelings "So Eliel, who is she? What is she like?" he asked like a school girl would ask a friend when she had met a boy. He smiled again at his friend and swished his tail from side to side, he was only a half-dragon, but still he was quite strong and there was something on his mind. He liked Lilith but he also liked Sava, he just didn't know if she would be interested in him, Sava was another half dragon like him. But what of Lilith, he liked both and didn't know who to go with. In the mean time he turned back to tease Eliel "Come on Eliel spill," he said "You really should keep an eye on Gwen here, it was she who ratted you out." He laughed he had met Gwen a little earlier when he had first learnt that Eliel was in the Inn, one of a half-dragon's powers was telepathy and it was through this that Gwen had told him.
He smiled at Eliel and leaned to whisper in his ear "No hard feelings friend and there is a little something I need to speak with you about in private," he whispered for him to hear. He leaned down and patted Gwen, admiring the panther who he had met many times and he playfully began to tease Eliel "Oooh Eliel's got a girlfriend," he swished his tail from side to side in good natured teasing "oooh la la, and I heard through a friend that she is a pretty one too," Kyrus laughed "in fact it was my Gryphon Solomon who saw you two, he just happened to be flying over the Richimon Lake that day and saw." It was then that Kyrus hugged his old friend "Good for you my friend and don't worry, I'm not going to embarrass you with her," he chuckled.
Silendra - April 2, 2008 07:35 PM (GMT)
The form of a young Drow woman swept into the Inn, she seated herself at a table and raised her hand to gain the attention of a passing barmaid. She asked for a wine to which the barmaid nodded and scurried off, Silendra saw Eliel and wondered how long it would be before her man noticed her. She smiled at him as she watched his back, the smile was a fond, loving one. They had not been together for long but she felt the beginnings of a strong love for him. Not being able to help herself she got up and softly padding up behind her she drapped her arms about his neck and kissed him softly upon the cheek "Hello you," she whispered in his ear.
Lilith Vie LeMonte - April 2, 2008 08:15 PM (GMT)
((OoC: A little short but I have to run out now... sorry))
Lilith raised an eyebrow at the odd conversation. She didn’t understand men. It was an honest statement to be sure. One minute they were fighting over her and now he had a girlfriend. She sighed and slowly shook her head at the childish behaviour of the two. She couldn’t say much to Eliel except what she had already said with her raise eyebrow. There wasn’t much to say. Instead she sipped at her wine and waiting for the two of them to finish whatever banter they were on about.
She smiled at Eliel and winked when a girl came over and draped herself around his neck. A little over the top for sure but what could she do about other people. Lilith finished off the rest of her wine in a gulp, aware of when she was... not needed. Lilith would have politely excused herself and left just then and there however they had made plans only seconds before and she would not be caught waiting downstairs when no one would show up.
“Are we still on for tomorrow Eliel?” She asked him absently and gazed around the bar. The sooner he answered the sooner she could excuse herself and be out of here.
Kyrus Lynin - April 2, 2008 09:06 PM (GMT)
Kyrus saw the look on Lilith's face and he moved around to sit next to her, whispering in her ear "Thats Eliel's new girlfriend, he has a bit of a bad memory sometimes," he whispered to her, to explain why he hadn't told her "Silly man has too many things on his mind at once." He then looked back to Eliel "Well it looks like you have company," he said and chuckled "Yes, are we still on for Goblin Hunting tommorroww?" he asked of his old friend. Again he returned his attention back to Lilith "Perhaps we should leave these two alone," he whispered and laughed "would you like to take a walk with me?" he looked at her as he asked that.
Eliel - April 2, 2008 10:31 PM (GMT)
Eliel grinned and pecked Silendra on the cheek. "Lilith, Kyrus, this is Silendra." He laughed as Gwen readied herself to latch her jaws onto kyrus' leg. any insult to Eliel was an insult to her, it seemed. He looked the other way while she playfully nipped at his heels. He had truly felt something for Lilith before, and had acted on it. he could see a bit of hurt in her eyes and saddened.
"Lilith, i'm sorry. I wanted to be friends, possibly more, but that was before. i fear tonight's speakings were of ale and old feeling. I apologize if you took it close, and i hope we can be friends." He grasped Silendra's hand with one of his and reached across the table to shake her hand. "We are still on for tomorrow, if you don't mind others tagging along." He said in an apologetic tone.
He squeezed Silendra's hand for support and pulled up a chair for her next to himself. He sighed as he thought about what this could do to everybodie's thoughts of him, and his relationships with his friends.
Lilith Vie LeMonte - April 2, 2008 10:50 PM (GMT)
Lilith smiled at Eliel. “Wine proves to best us all eventually.” She took a sip from her wine. Or tried to at least. Her glass was already emptied and so she only managed in lifting to her lips and sipping at air. She let out a small sigh of disappointment, sure that if she had any more she wouldn’t be sleeping all too well that night. She placed the wine glass down and told herself not to order another.
“I don’t mind company,” She smiled at the girl, who Eliel had introduced as Silendra. “And it’s nice to meet you Silendra.” As to Kyrus’ request it would be nice to go for a walk but not at this time of night. It was dark and she had been having wine. “I’m sorry Kyrus but if I’m not good on my wings I probably won’t be too good on my feet either.” She smiled and tried to take a sip again. She put down the glass again and thought that it was probably about time to go up to her room.
“If you’ll excuse me gentlemen,” Lilith rose from the table and issued a small bow, a dip of her head no more. She smiled at Silendra and then made her way to the stairs to the rooms. She swayed on her feet and a man caught her by the elbow and walked her to the stairs. “Thank you,” She said and then made her way up using the banister as a guide.
Silendra - April 3, 2008 12:19 AM (GMT)
Silendra smiled and looked to Lilith "It is a pleasure to meet you too Lilith and you two Kyrus," she said warmly, putting her arm about Eliel. She listened as Eliel spoke of Lilith and she frowned slightly looking from him to the young woman, a hint of jealousy in her eyes. But what was the point of it, it was not like Eliel was cheating on her or anything. Quite the opposite, he was saying that he couldn't be with her as he was with her and this caused Silendra to smile. She leaned forwards and kissed him lightly on the lips "Thank you Eliel," she said, what he had just done meant a lot to a woman, whether they were Elf, Drow or Human.
Eliel - April 3, 2008 02:09 AM (GMT)
Eliel smiled at the kiss and looked at her lovingly. "I's nothing, Silendra. Worry not." He smiled and gave her a quick kiss. Eliel looked back at Lilith, who was making her way upstairs. "Thank you for understanding." He whispered in her direction and smiled to himself. Eliel looked back at Kyrus, who sat at the table yet.
"So, Kyrus. In your own words, i have a girlfriend. So what becomes of my favorite Half-Dragon? Will he chase after the woman? Or go questing for someone already on his mind?" He smiled, saying it in a storyteller's tone. He laughed and leaned over to Silendra.
"Would you like a drink, love?" He asked.
((OOC: Dear god, my posts are falling short...))
Silendra - April 3, 2008 03:03 AM (GMT)
Silendra smiled softly and again blushed as Eliel called her love, she had never been called that before, not by anyone and she loved it. She nuzzled him gently and smiled up at him "Yes love, I would love a drink," she said, her voice merry and light as she looked upon him, placing a gentle hand on his chin and kissing it. She had only known him a short while but she was quickly beginning to feel close to him, getting used to having him around and it made her very happy.
Kyrus Lynin - April 3, 2008 07:24 PM (GMT)
Kyrus chuckled at the way Eliel talk and he grinned broadly "You are a funny one old friend," he said and patted him on the back "Well to tell you the truth I like Lilith, I find her very attractive but you see I also like Sava. But the problem is that I do not know if I have a chance with Sava but I do like her a lot. The real problem is that I like them both a lot and have no idea what I should do," he said "what would you suggest Eliel?" Kyrus was silent as he waited for Eliel to speak and he sat looking at his old friend. How could he chose between Lilith and Sava, he liked them both very much.
Eliel - April 3, 2008 09:08 PM (GMT)
Eliel sighed and looked at his good friend, head cleared. He thought over Kyrus' problem for a bit, smiling when the waitress came along with Silendra's drink. Eliel ordered another ale quietly, so Gwen and Silendra could not hear. He traced patterns over his hand with one long finger, thinking.
"I think you should go after whoever you think would understand you most. I mean, think about it. Lilith is a beautiful girl, i will not lie." He nodded apoogetically to Silendra. "But Sava is a dragon as well. You are half dragon, with a tail and wings. Don't you think you would be best off with her?" He asked, secretly taking his mug of ale from the passing waitress.
He leaned over to sip it, catching Gwen's eye. She huffed and looked away, and Eliel shrugged, setting it on the table. "It's what i would do, friend. A girl like lilith must have several people after her, and may have someone on her mind already." He smiled at kyrus. His life was nearly complete. He had found someone he loved, good friends, and a position of some respect in the bounty hunting area.
"Mind you, do not let me make decisions for you. My words are merely for thought and suggesting, not telling you what you should become. That is strictly up to you." He took another light drink from his ale, reaching down to scratch at the bandages on his leg.
Kyrus Lynin - April 3, 2008 11:18 PM (GMT)
Kyrus smiled and scratched his head with his tail "Actually I am a full dragon now, I don't know how but it all happened so fast," he looked at Eliel, listening to his words and scratching his head "You are right Eliel, your words have truth in them, I shall think on them before I act." He smiled and thanked Eliel, perhaps he was right, Sava was a dragon like he was and they would have much more in common. But he also liked Lilith and found her entirely attractive, but Sava? He liked Sava greatly and he knew that she was single as she had no interest in other men but she seemed to be warm towards him. Lilith on the other hand could well have another on her heart and suddenly a thought that had not yet entered his mind came to him, because he was a dragon he had a well extended life and it would be likely that Lilith would die before him, very likely and this would play a part in his decision. "Eliel," he said "dragons like elves are immortal so falling for a human girl like Lilith, although she is very beautiful, would only cause pain in the long run as she would die and I would go on. That would be very difficult to bear, whereas if I courted Sava we could live together, neither of us dying. But how would one go about courting a she-dragon, I guess I have to find that out," Kyrus laughed and patted Eliel on the back.
Fios - April 3, 2008 11:31 PM (GMT)
Fios sat in the darkest and emptiest corner he could find, hoping no one would recognize him as Fios Armorheart, the wanted moon elf, who supposedly killed his own half-sister Belana, which of course was not true. Fios loved his sister, and didn't understand why she had framed him for killing her. Everyone thought he hated his sister, because she was half-drow, and half-moon elf. He sighed, and pushed those thoughts out of his mind before he thought of Sava. He took a long drink from his elven wine, and looked out from under the cowl of his hood, and out into the crowds of many people.
His attention stayed on the half-dragon, and his eyes hardened with anger. He despised half-dragons, and was scared to death of dragons. He noticed that there were two drows also, next to the half-dragon. He had noticed a woman leaving the party of people, but he paid little attention to that. He looked at the half-dragon, and calmed himself, even though, he was quite tempted to go and kill the half-dragon, mainly because he had to kill hundreds in the war. He was then, absolutely shocked to hear Sava's name being said. His elven ears and caught that, and he thought that they may have said a name that was like Sava's, but somehow, he doubted that. His eyes dimmed, going to there grim state again.
He had been looking for Sava, hoping to run into her again, and apologies for running from her in fear. His stomach clenched in fear and sadness. He missed Sava, missed everything about her, her friendship, her touch... He shook his head. He wanted to stay where he was, but the conversation he heard interested him, and disturbed him. He stood abruptly, and strode towards the group, but then slowed his pace, and then halted in front of them.
"Umm... excuse, but... I heard a bit of your conversation, and interest drew me over... but, I heard the name Sava... and the word dragon. Do you know of her?" He asked. His voice was grim, and seemed quiet. He pulled his hood off his head, and glanced nervously about, then at the group. Everyone would be able to tell that he was a full-bred moon elf. His shaggy black hair fell over his dark blue eyes, and his elven pointed ears stuck through his hair. His face held a complete grim look, but one would be able to tell that he had smiled much in his past. He rested a hand on his two-handed longsword, the hilt of the blade was carved into a unicorns head.
His gaze stayed on them, anxious to hear what they said, but also... frightened? He made himself harden his emotions, as he waited patiently, well, tried to wait patiently.
Eliel - April 4, 2008 03:31 PM (GMT)
Eliel watched the moon elf approach and sat up in his seat, attentive. He made no move yet, but watched the man. No bounty hunter worth mentioning could not remember the faces of all his bounties. This man struck him as a familiar face, having seen him somewhere. It clicked. He had heard the guards of some town talking and listened in. This man had killed his half-sister, and the price for him alive was quite a bit. Eliel suspected something else, though, as the elf spoke to them.
"And what, good elf, would be your buisness with her?" He asked with a gleam in his eye that betrayed his greedy thoughts. Shaking it off, he looked at his lover, giving her a quick peck on the cheek. He drew his gaze back on the wanted moon elf. He had forgotten the man's name, and he needed confirmation.
"By the way, i believe i've seen you somewhere. Didn't catch your name, though." He made no move to hide the reason he wanted a name. Surely, the man knew by now Eliel's chosen profession and was most likely creating a false persona as he sat here in his thoughts.
Eliel sipped his ale in thought, looking the man over. He could easily see the man with the blade at his side. He was very likely more than a match for Eliel, but the bounty hunter always loved a challenge. But this one... Eliel could not imagine this man performing such an act as killing his own blood. The man seemed very coy in his situation and eliel thought over every moment of it. He had enough bounties for now, and plenty of gold stashed away.
He took another sip of ale and rested his hand in his lap, scratching Gwen behind the ears. The panther purred and leaned into his hand, staring at Fios all the while.
Fios - April 5, 2008 02:41 AM (GMT)
Fios' dark eyes flicked to the drow, and watched him silently for a moment, before he opened his mouth to speak. "Sava is..." He stopped, considering this a moment, then went on, "was a good friend of mine. I have been trying to seek her out, with no luck. I need to speak with her, on matters of the past." Fios answered calmly, even though he shifted nervously. He wanted to get as much information as he could then go find her, even if it may lead to his doom. What the drow said next, let Fios know that the man was a bounty hunter, and his eyes grew dimmer, again the grim look.
Fios has been hunted for a long time, and couldn't seem to escape bounty hunters and his fathers guards, it was starting to frustrate the moon elf knight. He clenched his mouth closed tightly, but forced himself to calm down again and speak. "I am Fios. You may know me of the wanted papers all over the place, that is probably why you've seen me, dark elf" His voice was calm and grim again, but the other would be able to tell that Fios was basically daring him to try something.
He probably shouldn't have said his name, but oh well, if either of them tried something, then he would be able to get out of it, he seemed to have luck of getting out of bad situations, but seemed to have bad luck of getting into them. He stood there, and looked at the other drow, then at the half-dragon, be didn't look long, since he still hated half-dragons, and it would take a long time to get over that hate.
"I have answered your questions, dark elf, now will you answer mine? Where is Sava? And how do you know of her?" He asked, his gaze stayed on the group.
Eliel - April 5, 2008 03:06 AM (GMT)
Eliel cocked an eyebrow. "First, let's set things straight. I would prefer to be called Eliel, not dark elf, drow, etcetera." He looked at the man, leaning over the table towards him. "Second, I'm not your enemy. I choose not to pursue your bounty. Ask me no questions and i'll tell you no lies." He smiled playfully and leaned back again. "Now that that's settled, Fios, I trust we can be civil?" He smiled, feeling himself to be in no immediate danger.
Eliel sighed. "Sava is one of few people who i can call a friend, one of few who do not judge me on the base of what the Drow people have done and still do. Let us hope our relationship can be similar. I met her in The chapel of a destroyed church, where we decided to wait out the rain on an adventure." He smiled, recalling the memories. Still, he wondered about the misshapen skeleton bound in the building catacombs. Eliel shuddered and shook his head.
"As for her whearabouts, i'm sorry i cannot tell you. It's not that i wouldn't want to help you, but i do not keep tabs on my friends. Doing so somewhat restricts relations." He frowned a bit and laughed. Eliel saw and noted Fios' look at Kyrus. Brief as it was, there was something there. He took it to memory, building up a mental file on this Fios character, just in case any of it could help him in the future. One did not stay alive in his buisness by walking into fights blindly, without knowing what the other was capable of. Such knowledge could save your life in a fight, or even turn it to your advantage.
Eliel pulled up a chair, shooing Gwen away from the empty seat kindly. She grunted and moved off to a corner. Eliel waved a hand to the seat, taking a swig of ale to calm his nerves. "By all means, sit with us. I don't think Kyrus here bites, and Silendra can be trusted." He laughed and kissed her on the cheek.
Kyrus Lynin - April 5, 2008 05:12 AM (GMT)
Kyrus looked at the new arrival and his eyes blazed with anger "You!" he said angrily "What are you doing here dragon slayer!" there was anger in his voice as he spoke and his tail became stiff and his posture tense "I know where Sava is but I shall not tell you murderer!" his eyes blazed with anger, the anger of a full dragon now. A small puff of smoke escaped Kyrus' mouth, it was clear that he did not like being around this one at all, he had killed more than one of his kind and the urge to attack him and get his vengeance was strong, almost overpowering. "You would do well to remember your manners, and for further reference I am not a half-dragon any longer but a full one," he said and sat like a coiled spring lest this one try anything.
