Title: Good times
Haddod Hardfist - March 8, 2008 09:21 PM (GMT)
As many other days Haddod was walking towards the tavern, he was known around the city as a mighty warrior, not that he had anything agains it, he liked it. But there was things he liked even more.....and that was to get himself a good ale from the bar. The dwarf laughed to himself as he walked down the street, it was a loud sound and most people in the city knew it very well, well the once around the tavern. He smiled towards some people he knew and said things like. "Itīs great day, donīt you think mate?" and "You think lady Athena has made some more of that ale?". He did not stop to talk with anyone for very long and he soon arrived to the entrence of the tavern. The dwarf opened them door and walked inside.
He walked trought the crowded room towards his normal spot at the bar, as usual the bar tender had keept it for him.
"Aye ye be a pearl" he said to the man behind the bar. He smiled. "Well I thought It was time for you to come sir Hardfist" the bartender said. "I guess you want your usual ale?"
Haddon pretended that he was thinking of it. "Well I guess I could take that, since yer asking so nicely mate"
The bar tender laughed, then he quickly picked up a pint and filled it with nice ale, then he calmly gave it to the dwarf warrior. "I donīt need to tell you how much to pay Haddon."
"Right you are"
Haddon picked up some coins and gave them to the B-tender.
Then he began to drink the liquid from his pint. He made a pause from his drinking and looked around the room. "So Sam, any news to share?" he said. The bar-tender thought for a moment. "No sir, things have been very calml around town these days, but it is only a matter of time before something comes."
Haddon nodded. "Only hope it will come soon, because all this calmness is very boring to me mind, I have to do something, kill of some beasts. Now the only one can do is drink ale and watch the ladies in town." He smiled slightly and took anather large gulp from his ale.
Mogrim Aran - March 9, 2008 10:53 PM (GMT)
Mogrim entered the tavern and some of the costumers fell silent. Looking at the very tall man, with a hood over his head, whom kinda looked a little like a troublemaker, Mogrim saw that the bouncers readied themselves to throw him out if he was any trouble. As he passed the tables he heard all sorts of whispers around him. "Who is he?". "A criminal, that's for sure", and various other insults and whisper, but Mogrim was used to this and decided to ignore it. After what felt like an eternity, he reached the bar desk. From outside children could still be heard crying after he had passed. Mogrim closed his eyes, took a deep breath and spoke. "A dwarven ale", said his dark voice. The bartender eyed Mo suspiciously and then frowned before handing him a dwarven ale. "Why wont you show your face!?", shouted one man. "Are you so ugly not even your mother wants to see you?", another one yelled. Mogrim ignored every attempt to make him mad and sat down by a table, sipping on his dwarven stout.
Bastian - March 10, 2008 02:38 AM (GMT)
A young man entered, his skin tanned, his dark brown eyes quickly scouting the place only two man got his eyes: A dwarf and a.....Bastian could not tell. One who seems an assasin and the other a warrior. Wich one could he try to convince to join him?
Only hope it will come soon, because all this calmness is very boring to me mind, I have to do something, kill of some beasts. Now the only one can do is drink ale and watch the ladies in town
The young man was passing behand the dwarf at the moment this comment went out. He grinned. So the little man wanted to do something? Excellent. He sat right next to the happy man. "So, it looks like you are an adventurer from what i heard." At this comment some stared at the young human. It this inn, adventure asked by someone meant trouble.
Since the hooded man was scaring some of the people, a old man came to Bastian "Well, son. Haddod is a fine warrior, but look at him. The man pointed to the half-demon.Look at his shape. How muscled he his, how tall he is. Imagine the power of a man like that!" The young sorcerer looked at him and grinned. He ignore the man and thought for himself.I'll take them both.
He raised his hand towards the man. "Hey, there my friend! Come take a drink you don't have to be so lonely." He payed up for another drink and showed it. "Now, i was nice enough to pay it for you, you can't refuse that, can you?"
Mogrim Aran - March 10, 2008 08:02 AM (GMT)
Mogrim slowly lifted his gaze from his flagon of ale. He was carefult not to raise his head too high so his glowing eyes would be seen. He stood up from his place and sat down next to Bastian. "I guess I can't refuse.. Thanks", he said as he sat down at Bastian's table. Mogrim knew that this man was either gonna mock him, or try to pull down his hood to force him to flee, nobody ever did anything else to him but put him in trouble. "Okay.. I accepted your drink and you've got my attention.. What do you want..?", asked the very tall and muscular half-demon.
Even during this exchange of events, people looked at Mogrim as he walked through the bar, and the whole tavern fell silent as he spoke. They though the muscular man was an orc, or a troll, or anything else nasty that would probably start a fight easily. Everyone were listening to him and Bastian, but when Mo turned his hooded head and looked around, people returned to their drinks. Mogrim sighed deeply as he turned back to the young man. "Make it quick.. I am not liked in these parts of Taras"
DornKoon - March 10, 2008 05:31 PM (GMT)
"So, it looks like you are an adventurer from what i heard."
Haddod smiled and looked at Bastian when the man began to speak with him, but he did not have time to say anything before the rude man began to talk. The dwarf sighed, then he shook his head. "Yer very right my friend, I like a good adventure or two." she said before the old man had the time to speak more, this was before Mogrim joined them.
"Hey, there my friend! Come take a drink you don't have to be so lonely." He payed up for another drink and showed it. "Now, i was nice enough to pay it for you, you can't refuse that, can you?"
Haddod looked towards the hodded stranger, the dwarf calmly took anather gulp from his ale. He followed him with the eyes untill he sat down and began to talk. He smiled at the stranger. "Aye you have taste friend, the best ale in the world if ye ask me. You know, I headr what they said before, you must have your reason to hidde your face, meself sometimes would like to do that to." he laughed a typical dwarven laugh. "No offence mate."
Then he looked at Bastian to see what the man wanted. "Yes tell us stranger"
Mogrim Aran - March 10, 2008 06:03 PM (GMT)
Mogrim just smiled. "No offence taken.. I need to meet people with a little humour sometimes, it keeps the mood up and my temperament in check, not that I am a hot-fused man, but still". Mogrims voice was so dark that when he spoke lower, like he did now, it could still be heard across the tavern. He lowered his voice to whispering, which made his voice sound like a giant wasp for those in the tavern apart from the dwarf and Bastian. "Yes, a good ale indeed....", he said to the dwarf.
Bastian - March 10, 2008 08:58 PM (GMT)
Okay.. I accepted your drink and you've got my attention.. What do you want..?
Bastian smiled. This was good, though now the tougher was to come. How could he invite him in his quest. Perhaos in saying details but not too much."I Need to visit some temples in this country. There quite well hidden and there is powerful beast around them. I am only been sorcerer for a short while but i can easily fight off. I only know of a few spells. But important, they should help out. I have not much money on me but at each temple there is treasures to get your hands on. I'm not interested for the treasures, so you could keep them for yourselves."
The fire sorcerer looked at the two man. What the young man wanted was simple: Getting a hand on some book in the libraries. So he will learn the most powerful spell quicker. Then gather more power, to perhaps conquer Imythess. And if those two wanted power aswell, they could have him as his generals. He liked the idea.
An image of himself, older casting the most powerful spell in the world, especially the fire ones backed up bu a black armored giant knight, it had to be the hooded man. and the dwarf in full plate mithryl armor swinging a great axe, had came to his mind. There the empire will be born....
Haddod Hardfist - March 10, 2008 09:49 PM (GMT)
"I Need to visit some temples in this country.
Haddon listened, then he smiled. "Aye that sounds like something I might like much, a good adventure in an ancient temple."He said and laughed again and took one last gulp from his ale, then he placed the pint on the table. "Iīm in with ya, not only for the gold, but for the danger, large beasts will fear us, ye have to be sure of that."
Haddon waved his hand to catch the intrest of one of the bar-maides. "Yo lass, would you be nice and get me anather ale, oh....make it three, two for me new friends here"
The woman nodded. "Right away sir Hardfist" she said.
Mogrim Aran - March 10, 2008 10:30 PM (GMT)
"I Need to visit some temples in this country.
Mogrim also listened to every word, and then nodded. "I will follow, danger is good for me, plus I don't have to be around people, and they don't have to be around me.. Where are these temples you speak of?"
Behind Mogrims back, which he could not see, but Haddod and Bastian could, some men were whispering and pointing at Mogrim, as if they planned something. "By the way" , began Moe. "I'm Mogrim Aran, the few friends I have call me Moe". The tall man fell silent as the barmaids came with his ale. One of them gave him a flirty smile. "Don't look so sad, there are plenty of girl you can rest your eyes on, sir. Drink your ale and look at women, can life be better?". This made Moe smile a little, but as the barmaid walked away, and Moe turned his attention back to Bastian, the barmaid passed the whispering men and they began whispering things to her aswell.
Bastian - March 10, 2008 10:51 PM (GMT)
I will follow, danger is good for me, plus I don't have to be around people, and they don't have to be around me.. Where are these temples you speak of? I'm Mogrim Aran, the few friends I have call me Moe
Bastian nodded and shook the half demon's hand. "Excellent to have you onboard, Moe! It's weird but i knew i could count on you as soon as i entered the tavern." This could be interesting. With a man of his size and strength the could be quite the dangerous phisical damage dealer. Well, the magical one is the young sorcerer of course. A dwarf as as an asset too.
The sorcerer scatch the back of his head."Unfortunetly...I have no idea, i'm not from Imythess. So i barely know the places...And i would not venture around them while i am not ready, right?" He would have to ask about the location of the locations.
But from what he had heard it was a water temple. But he would still have to invertiage about it.
Mogrim Aran - March 10, 2008 11:06 PM (GMT)
The people at the tavern had suddenly lost their patience, they wanted to know. A barmaind swept by Moe again, and gave him another flirty smile and sat down in his lap. "Hi there pretty", she said. "Don't sit here with your friends and drink, come and talk to me instead". "I'd rather not.." , echoed Moe's voice. "Don't be shy, give me.. a kiss!", said the woman, but she didn't want a kiss, instead she reached out her hands and attempted to pull down Moe's hood. He grabbed her by her wrist and wrangled her over his head, putting her down behind her.
"Don't... touch.. the hood", said he, now with a threatening tune, which made half of the tavernfolks pale of fear. A few of them readied weapons, like daggers and such, but the bartender frowned. "Leave the poor man alone!", he shouted. "Can't ya see he's tired? You can fight outside the bar, but fight in here and I'll make sure you wake up tomorrow and realize you're dead!". Everyone sat down again and enjoyed their ales, though still eyeing Moe suspiciously. "The sooner we leave.. The better"
Bastian - March 10, 2008 11:39 PM (GMT)
Even if it did not look like it, Bastian had followed the move of the barmaid. She was cute but, too flirty enough. He knew that the hooded man was not quite popular around this place. He knew how it feels. Getting rejected from his falsly entitled grandfather. He knew.
You can fight outside the bar
On those words, Bastian stood up quickly and showed two fire balls. "Those who wants to mess with him, will have to mess with me aswell!" He did not want to lose an ally, and certainly not a possible friend. He would do anything to keep them close.
but fight in here and I'll make sure you wake up tomorrow and realize you're dead!
Bastian grinned and pointed one of his fire sphere at the barkeeper. "Keep threatening in the air and your the one who'll end up dead!" The sorcerer was not scare of teasing like those ones. Only greater power would prove it. For now no one was in position to do a move.
The sooner we leave.. The better
Bastian nodded to Moe. Sure he understood. It would be way much less trouble that way. He turned to the dwarf."[color-darkblue]Are you coming too? We got to move.[/color]" If they did not move, the guards would surely comes to arrest them.
Mogrim Aran - March 10, 2008 11:44 PM (GMT)
Moe sighed. "I can take care of myself", he said. "You don't need to stand up to me, and don't mess with the bartender please.. It might cause you trouble". The bartender didn't take any offence though, he was used to small boys playing tough, and he just chuckled before returning to cleaning a glass.
Haddod Hardfist - March 11, 2008 04:32 PM (GMT)
Are you coming too? We got to move.
Haddon raised an eyebrow. "I think ye have a bad hearing lad" the dwarf said. "I told ye that Iīm with ya on this. I guess you was to busy looking at the girls that you did not hear me" the warrior laughed and shook his head. "Ah here is our ales"
The barmaid that Haddon had asked to get the ale came to there table, she placed the pints in front of them. "Thanks hon, your an angel sent from heaven"
the girl smiled. Haddon picked up some coins and gave them to her. "I give you some more as a tip, have a nice day now lass"
The barmaid smiled, then she walked away from them. "I guess we better hurry to drink these once then if we are to leave soon."
He calmly looked towards the wispering men. "You silly creatures, I could break your necks if I wanted to. Not to defend you lad" he looked at Mogrim. "But I donīt like it when people is talking bad about others behind there backs. Even more if the once your talking about is in the same room."
Bastian - March 11, 2008 09:55 PM (GMT)
The young sorcerer tilted his head on the side. The barkeeper did not seem to be somekind of mage, so why wasn't he taking Bastian seriously. Guess some were too proud to even smart enough to see when their life were on the line.
The young human turned around and gulped fast his ale. He was tired of this place already. Not only for his tall ally but for the attitude general of the people. He passed his sleeve on his mouth to be sure he had not any left around it and on his chin. "Let's get outta here." Bastian left the place with a quick pace, showing how much he was pissed.
How could this be? No respect at all for any race. What was this world? OOnly one god should lead this world, there would be less confusion. Would it be true? He clenched his fist so hard that after a few seconds there were white and bloodless. He hoped to gather enough power to make this world turn right.
Mogrim Aran - March 11, 2008 09:58 PM (GMT)
Mogrim stood up. "Certainly, let's head for those temples you spoke of", he said and followed the young man. Even now, people stared at him when he reached his full height and almost touched the ceiling. Mogrim headed towards the exit and waited there for his newfound allies.
Haddod Hardfist - March 11, 2008 10:06 PM (GMT)
Haddod quickly drank his ale, then he noticed that Mogrim did not drink his when he left..."Sorry to waste such nice ale" he said, then he quickly drank it to, after that he calmly followed the others out from the tavern.
"So lad, yer talking about some temple, but yer not from around, If yer looking for a mysterius place then there is some ancient city to the south from this city. Should be a good place to start looking at, donīt ye think so?" He looked at Bastian when he talked. "Have been thinking to go there meself sometime, why not now" the dwarf smiled a bright smile at the young magican. Then he looked at Mogrim. "What do you think lad? Have you ever heard of the mysterius ruined city to the south?"
Mogrim Aran - March 11, 2008 10:24 PM (GMT)
Mogrim nodded. "The ruined city it is then.. I wonder what sort of enemies we will encounter there.. Are there any old books about the ruined city, of what kind of people lived there? There might be ghosts, and zombies". Mogrim knew maybe it sounded stupid, but he had thought like that before, that things sounded stupid, and the things had turned out to be exactly that way. "Lead the way, friend", he said, since neither Haddod nor Bastian had told him their names.
Bastian - March 12, 2008 03:56 AM (GMT)
So lad, yer talking about some temple, but yer not from around, If yer looking for a mysterius place then there is some ancient city to the south from this city. Should be a good place to start looking at, donīt ye think so?
Bastian thougth for a while. Ruins of a city? "I guess it could makes us train our skills at the same time. And we could even find some interesting stuff as well."He looked at his new partners and smile. That was his way. Letting space and ideas to his ally so they would feel more comfortable with the outworlder.
The ruined city it is then.. I wonder what sort of enemies we will encounter there.. Are there any old books about the ruined city, of what kind of people lived there? There might be ghosts, and zombies[i]
The young fire sorcerer grinned. "They still will be no match for us. As soon as we find a good battle tatic it's gonna be one of a massacre" He closed his eyes and imagned them fighting a bunch of nasty monsters and beating them up.
[i]Lead the way, friend
The young human nodded. "Yeah, you know where it is right, erhm..."He then looked at the hodded man and the dwarf realising he still did not know their names, and they were about to set out on a quest?"What are your names?Mine is Bastian. I know my name is weird, but i don't know about it's origin" After all how could he know? All the knowledge had been burned downed.
Haddod Hardfist - March 12, 2008 06:48 AM (GMT)
"Yeah, you know where it is right, erhm...
Haddod laughed. "Yes mate, I know well where the cures city is" he said. "To the south, one day from here. I say it should not be to hard to get there. But if we want info then we could go to the library, has to be some kind e old book about the place" The dwarf pointed towards a large building that could be seen over the roofs. "This city be famus for there colection of books."
What are your names?Mine is Bastian. I know my name is weird, but i don't know about it's origin
"I donīt know anything weird with ya name lad" Haddod said. "Your name sounds much better then some other humans I have meet. Like Tim.....what kind of name be that? No warrior would be named Tim." the dwarf laughed and shook his head.
"Me name be Haddod Hardfist" he bowed slightly. "Warrior of the old school."
Mogrim Aran - March 12, 2008 07:30 AM (GMT)
Moe, whom had already told his name, was surprised that Bastian had forgot it already. "I'm Mogrim Aran, the few friends I have call me Moe", he repeated himself. "Mogrim Aran, outcast warrior and lone wanderer". He turned to Bastian, waiting for him to leave.
Bastian - March 12, 2008 09:00 PM (GMT)
Me name be Haddod Hardfist, warrior of the old school.Mogrim Aran, outcast warrior and lone wandererHe smacked his head with his palm, Bastian had forgotten about the hodded man's name, that was not a great start. "
I'm sorry Mogrim. I'll remember it from here on now." He then turned to the dwarf."
Nice too meet you, Haddod." They got themselves some titles while the outworlder had none. Well, they had live something here, and yet the young sorcerer did not as much.
He nodded, "
Okay let's go south then." The young sorcerer took the lead and headed south of the town. He would ask the way to the dwarf for the
Quest Among the ruins.
Mogrim Aran - March 12, 2008 09:13 PM (GMT)
Mogrim was glad that they finally were about to leave. He swept his cloak tighter around him, checked his sword and then followed the outworlder outside, towards new adventures in Taras.
DornKoon - March 12, 2008 09:16 PM (GMT)
Haddod did not say anything, he just nodded and followed his new found friends.
