Title: Looking for a job
Description: ((PM to enter)) {with Fios)
Sigmund - February 16, 2008 10:02 PM (GMT)
It was still way too early in the morning to see people outside. Sigmund Headed to the inn. There was still non one at the counter either. He rang the small bell and waited. Minutes passed without no one coming. The bell rang more and more noisily. If the owner wanted clients, he only had to be up all the time, or atleast eomone to look at late hours.
The owner woke up and looked at the young man. still drowzy. His grey hair was messed up and his eyes red. Looking at him Sigmund felt bad. After all it was only him who was early in the morning. "Needin'somehin'?"
Well, they were in a inn after all. They needed to rest on a comfy enough bed. "Well, you got a room for two?" The man boredly blink. "It's a inn, sir." What was that all about? Now, he was making Sigmund appeared Stupid. And that was a bad idea. Sighing he replied. " That's why i'm here, i wanted to know if it was free."
-Nothing is free, kid you should know that.
-Dah, i know! I wanted to know if the room was free of people.
-Wich room?
-The one for two.
-Two what? Two golds?
-No, grrr. Two peoples.
-Got the golds anyway?
Sigmund stared at the innkeeper with wide eyes and then turned to Fios. "Got any?
Fios - February 17, 2008 12:57 AM (GMT)
When the buildings of the village came into view, Sigmund had ran forward. Fios followed calmly, though, he drew the hood of his cloak back up, shadowing his features for no one would know who he was. He walked into the village, but hesitated before walking calmly through the gate. He followed the boy through the village and then to the tavern. The whole time, he stayed silent.
He glanced to his sides, but saw no one about. It was too early, but it was fine for him. He liked it when no one was about, maybe because he was so used to being alone. He remembered that long ago at the academy, he remembered he loved company, he loved joking around and loved to have a good time, but he hasn't been able to have that type of fun for years. He walked into the dimly lit main room of the tavern. He stayed near the door, where the shadows seemed darker. He kept his dark gaze on the bartender, then they flicked to Sigmund when he started speaking to the tender. A small smirk played across his face once the bartender didn't quite understand what the young boy meant.
"Got any?"
He looked at Sigmund a moment, staying silent, then he walked forward, stopping a little ways away from the counter, then pulled out a leather pouch that jingled with coins. He opened it, and took out two gold coins, the elf then handed the coins to Sigmund. He then took a step back. He looked to the side, seeing a wanted paper on the wall, it had a sketched out face of Fios. On the paper said his name Fios Armorheart, and that he was son of a noble. Then it said his supposed committed crime, by killing an innocent woman. There was a nice reward for him, everyone wanted to get him, dead or alive. He sighed silently, then turned back to the barkeep.
Sigmund - February 17, 2008 02:15 AM (GMT)
Sigmund looked at the paper that Fios was looking at. It was not a joke after all. Not that he ever doubt the elf but to see a proof of this was getting on his nerves. He took the paper and rolled in his pocket. The inn kepper looked at Sigmund. "Watta da ya think your doin'?"
The young man grinned. "Well, keping an eye on profits. You got other wanted paer like this one?" The man shook his head. "Nah, put it back there. Or i'll call the guards." The young man and ripped a piece on purpse. "Oupsie!"He whispered and put the poster back. This way no one could recognize who he was travelling with. He payed the innkepper who gave him the key back.
He turned to the knight and invite him to fo;;ow him. Once in the room the young man lokked at Fios "We shoud get information about anything to do around here. Where do you think we should look?"
Walking to the windows he put a cloth on so no one see inside. Pt he felt tired and yawned. "Well, maybe we should look after we rest..." He layed on a bed and as soon as he touch the matress.
Fios - February 17, 2008 02:48 AM (GMT)
Fios grinned a little when Sigmund ripped the paper so no one could notice who he was. That made him a little calmer, though, he felt still tense. He stayed silent still. He watched as Sigmund paid the innkeeper then as the man gave the boy the key. The elf was happy how things were turning out so far. No guards coming after him yet. He turned on his heel, and walked towards the stairs, when the boy gestured for him to come. When in the room, Fios went to one of the bed, and pulled off his hood again. He stared at the bed a moment, with a grimace. He was trying to remember what it was like to sleep on a feathered bed, as in his fathers house, the whole family had them, even the servants, but its been... years since he last slept on one, and here before him is a sorry excuse for a bed and mattress. He sighed, then shook his head.
"We shoud get information about anything to do around here. Where do you think we should look?"
"Best place to look would be here, in the tavern. Around... evening, when the business is better." He said, thinking a moment. "They're may not be many jobs to do around here. The best business we could get would be in a city, but seeing as we're in a village..." He said, and trailed off in thought. He took his cloak off and threw it on the bed, then he took out his elegant two-handed longsword, and some whetstone. He sat on the edge of the bed, and stuck the tip of the sword in the wooden floor, then took out some cloth and wiped the now slightly dry blood from the blade (The blood from the bandits), after that he ran the whetstone along the edges, to help sharpen the blade some more. In the academy, one was always supposed to keep ones blade clean and always ready to use for a battle or anything.
He was also tired, but he kept himself awake. In the war camp, he was used to staying up all night, this wasn't anything new to him.
"Well, maybe we should look after we rest..."
"Most sensible idea. Evening is a long ways away." He muttered, as he still sharpened the blade.
Sigmund - February 23, 2008 02:11 AM (GMT)
As he slept, Sigmund made a nightmare. The boy was moving a lot in his bed, a bit to much. His father's was lying on his lap vomitting blood. Chazz was laughing out loud, pointing his blade to the young human. "So, still think i'm weak?" The man asked as he grinned holding his blood-soaked sword.
Siegfied body was shooked by his son. "Come back father, you can't go dying on me! Not now, you still have time before you.He closed his eyes letting his tears fell to the ground. He then glared at the murderer. "You! You're at hearth. Weak in mind. Too much weak to be a leader." Chazz did not say a word only raised his swird and striked the young man.
Siegmund woke up all sweaty. He had still flasback of the dream and his previous day. He did not pay attention to Fios since his mind was away. He stood up and walked to the water jar and placed his hands in it. It was a cold fresh water, he wash his sweat with the water. It feels good.
He looked at his reflection in the water. His face seems like his father but younger and without the beard. But suddenly, he saw himself injured to death, he swang his hand on the jar the water splashed everywhere. He took a deep sigh. Things were looking grim. He looked at the windows it was near the end of the after noon. He then looked at his elven ally to see if he was sleeping.
Fios - February 25, 2008 03:00 AM (GMT)
He finished sharpening his sword, well, he just got bored of it. He set the blade on the front of the bed, the slender well crafted tip of the sword resting on the pillow. He looked at the blade for a moment or so. He remembered when he received it, it was given to him as a gift when he graduated from the knights academy, all knights receive one when they are fully trained. He smiled slightly at the memory, even if hours later his father sent him to the war. Suddenly he felt a longing in him, a longing to see Sava again. Since he left, nothing was the same. He looked away from the sword and out the window. He stayed silent, as the boy slept.
"Could you train me? I need to get better as soon as possible."
The boy had asked Fios to train him only hours ago, and still he was unsure. He didn't feel up to training a boy to fight, and if the boy wanted to get really good, it would take years, but no, the boy had seemed in to much of a hurry for years of practice like Fios had. After a long while, he decided that it would be best to help the boy, and teach him as much as Fios could, or as much as the boy wanted.
He pushed himself on the bed more, and rested his back against the wall, and he brought his knees up closer and rested his arms on them, and bent his head slightly, closing his dark blue eyes, thinking. He would like to sleep, but he felt quite uneasy still, and didn't even think he would be able to sleep. His eyes snapped open the moment he heard the boy thrashing in his bed. He raised his head slightly, and looked at the young boy, but didn't move from his bed to see if he was alright, Fios already knew it was most likely a nightmare, he has had to many himself, mainly of Sava eating him, or even the fight they had, even of his father.
He looked away and closed his eyes again, till he heard the splash of water, and then feeling eyes on him. The elf looked to be dozing off, even though he was awake, he stayed silent for long moments, before speaking.
"What you dream of?" He asked, his voice quiet with its usual grimness. Most would wonder why he was so grim, since no one knew of his whole past, of Sava, or the mage that had tortured him to get information, and all the other things.
He sighed, then opened up his eyes, and looked at the boy. "I suppose it wouldn't matter what its about. All dreams are the same, nice dreams, or nightmares, they all lead to the same thing, and fill you with false feelings." He said. He always seemed to have the downside of everything, never finding anything to be cheerful about, well, not anymore.
Sigmund - February 25, 2008 04:05 AM (GMT)
Sigmund took his used leather covered journal, some ink and his pen to write in ti. He wrote the day he spent: The moment of his cleaning at the stables, then when Chazz and his friend trying to catch him, then he went to hunt with his father. He slowed down his writings. It was now darker in emotions to write it, but he still did it, knowing that it was still fresh in his memory: The assault at the cheif;s house, his father getting killed, fell injured during the escape and beeing saved by Fios.
He written stuff that they talked bout but he could not at the elf personnal life details. So he skipped to the bassis. The demand of Sigmund for training. Their arrival at the inn, the stupid argumentation with the inn keeper and the nightmare. When the young man fifnished he sighed releasing a burden off his shoulders. Writing his emotions was so good.
"What you dream of?"
Sigmund startled, if Fios would have asked about his dream sooner surely the young fighter would have stain his pages with ink. "Nothing that you should not be aware of, my father beeing killed."He closed his book strongly.
He stood up and took his chainmail on and his brace, since he had been topless to go sleep, and then the turned to the knight. He was still in bed and his grimm tone he could not know if he was still tired."Did you slept well? You seem kinda tired.."
I suppose it wouldn't matter what its about. All dreams are the same, nice dreams, or nightmares, they all lead to the same thing, and fill you with false feelings."
Siegmund nodded. "I know all that, it just burning scars on the mind." He went to the door. "WEll, are you ready? We got a job to get." He was excited about his first mission. Even though he would have to find it.
Fios - February 25, 2008 04:45 AM (GMT)
He watched the boy write, and wondered a moment of what he wrote about. Fios has never wrote in a journal or anything, not finding it useful, thinking it just a thing to remind you have all the bad things that happen in life, and how cruel everyone truly is. He looked towards the window. To him, it seemed forever since the boy spoke, and the former knight merely nodded. One always does seem to have nightmares of most recent disasters, he knew it happened to him. He kept his gaze on the window, looking out at the trees, his back still against the hard wall. His hands on his knees clenched and unclenched, as he thought.
"Did you slept well? You seem kinda tired.."
"I didn't sleep." He merely answered. He then got off the bed and stood, and stretched slightly. He picked up his beautiful sword, and slid it into its scabbard. He ran a hand through his hair. He wished he could've gone to sleep, but he knew he wouldn't be able to even if he tried. He would be plagued by memories thought nightmares, and probably end up in a very grumpy mood worse then his grim one. He put on his cloak, and lifted the hood up, covering most of his features again.
"I know all that, it just burning scars on the mind."
He thought about that, then merely nodded, though, it was slower. He turned towards the door, hearing noises from downstairs. The tavern was starting to fill up. Hopefully there will be a good job down there, waiting fro them.
"WEll, are you ready? We got a job to get."
"Yeah. I'm ready." He mumbled. He went to the door, and opened it, and hesitated before walking out. He heard some music from a bard who got here early, and the noise of people talking. A small smile found its way on his grim covered face. When he was in the academy, he had always spent time in taverns with friends and well, he had always had much fun, and it made him wonder what happened to them. He walked down towards the main room of the tavern. He glanced about the room, wondering if anyone was there who had a job that needed to be done, but he supposed he would leave that to Sigmund, to see how good he could get a job for them. He headed towards a empty table in a corner of the large room, and sat down in one of the chairs. He looked up to see if Sigmund followed, then he looked for a barmaid, and waved to one to come over. Soon, a elf girl came over. "Hello, m'dear, would you get me some wine... elven wine? I hear this place has the best stuff in all of Norwood." He said, a smile still on his face.
He seemed very at ease, and calm, but he was actually tense and wanted to leave, in fear of guards showing up or something, but he stayed where he was, and wished he was his cocky, careless self again, it would be hard for anyone to ever know how he was once a cocky, overconfident, trickster elf, who is now one of the grimmest people in the world.
Sigmund - February 26, 2008 12:34 AM (GMT)
"I didn't sleep."
That was why he seemed to tired. Sigmund only nodded to make Fios see that he understood. The elf did not wanted to say more. He had been talking about how strange the dreams and nightmares were kind of useless. He did not want to sleep because of nightmares about his past.
He slowly followed the former knight, and went down to the noisy but alive crowd. Seems that people were enjoying that. Sigmund smiled, they would get a job abd would meet other people either to get a job, meet interesting peoples, get allies. He looked at Fios, the former knight was acting differently.
Hello, m'dear, would you get me some wine... elven wine? I hear this place has the best stuff in all of Norwood.
That almost made the young man laughed when he realized that he was talking to an elf girl. He walked between the crowd, and get next to his friend. The elve was cute enough but surely to old for him, he did not mind, he wanted to tease his partner. "So that's what you were after!" He poked his elbow in Fios' side. "A beatiful woman for company! Come on, you can use better pick-up lines then that, right?"
He then looked at the crowd to see anyone who would be interesting to talk to. But without an idea of what of person he was looking for, that could gave them a job, it would be quite dfficult.
Fios - February 26, 2008 04:03 AM (GMT)
The elf girl was beautiful, but she was like any elf girl in Fios' eyes, but probably humans saw elves differently, he wouldn't know. He smiled at the elf girl a moment, till he looked away and at Sigmund, and then grinned in a almost cocky like way when the boy spoke.
"A beatiful woman for company! Come on, you can use better pick-up lines then that, right?"
"Ahh, yes, well, I believe I am quite rusty, seeing that I haven't flirted with a gal in... well, last time I did, I was merely forty years of age. Damn, its been too long since I've actually enjoyed myself." He said, in a cheerful sounding voice. He leaned back in his chair, thinking of his age a moment, and was a bit shocked to think that it has been a hundred years. "To tell the truth, I wouldn't even think of getting company from a pretty lass anymore, all they do is bring heartache. And if I did, I would surely be dead within minutes. He said, thoughts turning over once more to the woman he had loved. He grimaced, annoyed at himself for always letting his thoughts strayed.
He looked at the crowds, and noticed that Sigmund was looking for someone to obviously to see if they needed a job, but so far, Fios couldn't see anyone, yet.
"Main people who need jobs done can be the shady kind of people. Though, I won't take any jobs from them if it includes killing innocents." He said, completely ignoring the elf girl he talked to not too long ago, and she went to fetch the wine Fios wanted, since she was one of the barmaids here. She soon came back, with a glass of wine. She set it down on the table, and nearly right away, Fios picked up that glass and took a long drink from it. He loved the taste of elven wine, it was absolutely delicious, though, he liked the stuff from his homeland, that had to be the best ever. He set the drink down, then flexed his fingers a moment, considering how long it has been since he last pick pocketed someone, or done any of his little tricks.
He looked over towards the bard, who was singing some songs in elvish. He groaned slightly. "I hate listening to songs in elvish. Human songs are much more interesting, all elves seem to sing about is beauty and nature and all that. But then, never listen to the human bard who was at the war camp, all he sang of was death and sorrow, nothing that lifted our minds from the war. He said. He sounded like he was bored, even if he wasn't. His dark gaze look over many faces of elves and few humans.
Sigmund - March 3, 2008 06:28 AM (GMT)
Ahh, yes, well, I believe I am quite rusty, seeing that I haven't flirted with a gal in... well, last time I did, I was merely forty years of age. Damn, its been too long since I've actually enjoyed myself
Sigmund looked with wide eyes at the elf. Sometimehe forgot that elf are nearly immortal when it come to ages."Well, i'll look around. You, go get some fun. Who knows what kind of job we can get and when we could be back."He patted his friend's shoulder.
To tell the truth, I wouldn't even think of getting company from a pretty lass anymore, all they do is bring heartache. And if I did, I would surely be dead within minutes.
The young warrior shook his ead. "Don't say that. Your tougher then that, aren't you? Come on, you can have some one night type of fun once in a while. Or was it forbidden by the knight's code?" He did not know a thing about the knight's and their behavior so it was better to ask.
Main people who need jobs done can be the shady kind of people. Though, I won't take any jobs from them if it includes killing innocents
Sigmund nodded. It was understandable and he would not accept either. If they make a good reputation for themselves, they would have more chances to make Fios free from the price his father put him againts. "Don't worry/He said as he walked away between the tables.
Fios - March 3, 2008 05:29 PM (GMT)
"Well, i'll look around. You, go get some fun. Who knows what kind of job we can get and when we could be back."
He merely shook his head slightly. He was still loyal to Sava, even though she wants him dead already, and that he is absolutely terrified of her for being a dragon. He considered saying something about Sava, but decided not too, he hated answering a lot of questions, he didn't know why, he just did. He stayed quiet, his dark eyes darkening in thought. He wondered if they would ever run into the dragon when they get jobs, after all, that was the main thing Fios was doing in Imythess, besides hiding, it was to find Sava, he needed some answers from her, that she would most likely not answer, since she didn't answer them last time he saw her.
"Don't say that. Your tougher then that, aren't you? Come on, you can have some one night type of fun once in a while. Or was it forbidden by the knight's code?"
He laughed. "Tempting, but no. It isn't against the knights code. You could say its against my own code. But, the last one I was with had a fiery temper, and I wouldn't want to complicate things anymore, even if it is very complicated..." He said in a quieter voice. The fiery temper was very true, no one ever would want to cross her, or betray the little trust she has for you. He took a long drink from his wine.
He watched the boy walked away among the tables, then he glanced about the room, and looked towards the door that opened and more people, elves and humans coming in. He thought one of the elves were familiar, but he couldn't quite place where he'd seen that elf. It was a male elf, he was tall and not the strongest looking of the bunch, and he had short red hair and gray eyes. Fios looked away, thinking. He wanted to know where he might have seen that elf before, but nothing came to him.
"Ya naa tanya? He mumbled in elvish.
The redheaded elf noticed Fios, despite the hood he wore. The elf came striding over, stopping at the table.
"Fios? That you hiding at this table?" The elf said in good humor it seemed. Fios looked up at the elf, still not knowing who it was.
"Lîn Esse?" Fios asked, still in elvish, since all elves should know how to speak elvish.
"Daluec Braveeye. I can't believe you forgot my name." Daluec laughed. He pulled out a chair and sat down opposite Fios. Fios stared at the other elf Daluec, and now he couldn't believe who this was. Daluec was one of Fios' best friends at the knights academy. They often practiced and joked around. Daluec was always one Fios could count on when in trouble, and the elf always seemed to never care getting the blame or anything, since Daluec was also a highborn noble like himself.
"What are you doing here in Imythess?" Fios asked surprised, and switched to common. He looked up, wondering if Sigmund was having any luck, but he soon turned his attention to Daluec.
"I got bored of being home. I managed through the war, which ended just ten years ago. My father had me spend all those years fighting dragons, elves and humans. I hate wars. Your lucky you got that wound, I almost wished it was me nearly dying on that bed. But I came here to get some peace and quiet, I hear Imythess can give that sometimes, though, I don't know about staying here, I had some troubles with bandits" Daluec said, and laughed. "What about you old friend? You don't look so well."
"One never does well when your being hunted by your own father." He looked at Daluec, a little suspicious that the elf may just be there to just capture Fios in a trap, but somehow, he doubted that. Daluec would never betray his friends.
"I'm surprised to find you here, Fios, since I haven't seen you forever. I never suspected that you'd be in Imythess. And I wouldn't be surprised if Sava's around here either." He said and laughed again.
Fios shook his head. "I am also surprised. But Sava is not here, I don't know where she's at."
Sigmund - March 5, 2008 02:31 PM (GMT)
Meanwhile that Fios was talking with the other elf Sigmund kept looking. Suddenly, a cloaked figure tapped on his right shoulder and whispered with a feminine voice. "Come with me,outside warrior." When the young warrior turned around the stranger had already passed the door, not giving him a chance at all to reply.
It was weird but since she knew he was a warrior, perhaps she would nottry to pick a fight with the young man. He passed between the poeple who were drinking, chatting, singing. Living a nice place without his friend was making him nervous. Once outside, under the shining stars,he kept following the girl until they stopped at the border of the forest.
If the bandits could see him they would jump over him. He took his metal staff in his hands and looked at the woman. "What do you want from me?" The woman made a sign to Sigmund to whisper. "Please, i don't want anyone's attention."
He felt slightly more comfortable. He would not be fighting bandits, atleast not tonight. "Fine then, then tell me why you wanted to talk to me." He got closer as he whispered. The woman noticed it. "I just wanted to see you closer, hehe. And your cuter that way." The young man got surprised, he made a step ack and blushed. "W-Wha...?We... euh...Thanks , i guess." He shook his head and slammed his palm on his forehead. "Please, don't tell me that's it?["
She giggled and shooked her head."No, don't worry. I'm joking when i'm nervous,it calm me down." She took a deep breath and start to speak."I need you to get an item to one of my aquaintance in Taras. I can't tell you about the object but the man there will. And for the money well, you will get you get a quarter here and the rest of it at Taras. Will you accept?"
Sigmund listened and thougth for a moment. "What is wrong, why can't you take it there by yourself? If there something special about it that will put usin danger yu would better tell me." She sooked her head again." No it's something basic, i'm just afraid of theives and corrupted rangers on the roads." It was making senses, and he did not want to lose a job on his first time. "Okay then, when will we received the object?"
"Here at sun rise, be there!" On those words she turned away, letting the young man alone. He decided to go back to Fios and report him the news. He entered, and saw his elf friend still talkingwith the other elf. Perhaps it was afriend of his since theformer knight had been nervous to be recognize. He sat at the chair next to them.
But Sava is not here, I don't know where she's at.
Sigmund smiledat Fios. "Who is she your fiery tempered girlfriend?" He was joking but it was the better way to enter the conversation.
Fios - March 5, 2008 03:31 PM (GMT)
Fios noticed that Sigmund had left the building, and wondered way, but soon, he returned, and made his way over to the table he sat at. Daluec looked up at the boy, and he chuckled at what the boy had said.
"Who is she your fiery tempered girlfriend?"
"Thats a great way to describe her." Daluec said, laughing. Fios smirked slightly, though, he never liked talking about Sava much, since he hasn't seen her in years and hated to think that she hates him now, and because of hating him, she hates the entire moon elf race. He took a drink of his wine, then set it back on the table.
"This is one of my best friends here, his name is Daluec Braveeye. He went to the same knights academy I did. Daluec, this is Sigmund, he's asked me to train him." Fios said, but he wondered if he could still consider Daluec a friend, but since he knew he helped him escape death, then he could still trust him, but he didn't believe Daluec was here to get peace and quiet.
"Its a pleasure to meet you, Sigmund." Daluec said, smiling.
He looked at Sigmund. "Where were you?" He asked, his voice dull. His eyes looked how they always did, grim and sad looking. He knew that Sigmund wouldn't trust the elf Daluec, but Fios didn't want to turn away his friend right now. He hasn't seen Daluec as long as he hasn't seen Sava, or any of his other friends. He looked over at Daluec, and noticed that he carried a very similar sword like Fios' own, but instead of a graving of a unicorn on the hilt, there was a dragon on it. Like all knights who finish their training, they receive identical two handed swords, but all with different gravings, that tells other of their best trait. The unicorn was for loyalty, and dragon for strength, all the animals and creatures on the swords meant different things. He looked over at Sigmund again waiting for an answer.
The tavern was now fully filled, already many people were drunk, and playing gambling games and other things. He was always disgusting how people always seemed to get drunk, and waste their lives gambling, but he wasn't thinking about that now, he was curious if Sigmund managed to get a job.
Sigmund - March 6, 2008 12:40 AM (GMT)
Thats a great way to describe her
Sigmund smiled. "I'm kidding i did heard much about her." It was true and about fifteen minutes ago. Well, he could not remember really, time was keeping him busy so he lost the count.
This is one of my best friends here, his name is Daluec Braveeye. He went to the same knights academy I did. Daluec, this is Sigmund, he's asked me to train him
The young warrior shook the elven knight's hand. "Good, that's atleast one who wont be after you. Friends are priceless." He remembered one thing: Fios was an ally not yet a friend. They were on the same boat that's all. It was kind of sad to think about it, so he shook his head and keep smiling.
Its a pleasure to meet you, Sigmund.
Sigmund laughed. A pleasure? Ah, come on! "Hehe, no need of this kind of politeness with me, after all i'm a son of bandit." There was honor and politness, the bandits took one and forgot about the others.
Where were you?"
"Outside, alone with a woman." Sigmund let a suspense trying to make the two man think that the young warrior did something with her. " She ask me to do something and we'll get to work tomorrow morning at sunrise." He was still thinking about the misterious object. What could it be? Why was it so secret if it was nothing?
Fios - March 6, 2008 02:22 AM (GMT)
"I'm kidding i did heard much about her."
"So? That is still best way you can ever describe that woman. Insane, she is, I think." Daluec said, laughing. He Leaned back against his chair, seeming very at ease. Fios glanced at Daluec, remembering the fun times of mocking others and pulling tricks on everyone, it was fun, and he missed hanging out at the taverns after practice, and all the long classes of war tactics and the such. Fios looked back at Sigmund and raised a eyebrow slightly to what the boy said.
"Good, that's atleast one who wont be after you. Friends are priceless."
He supposed that was good. Friends were better then always being alone, and Fios believed that he was, since all his friends were back in his old kingdom, he never expected to run into a friend here, an old friend. Fios noticed Daluec smile at that.
"Hehe, no need of this kind of politeness with me, after all i'm a son of bandit."
Daluec laughed. "So does this mean that I have to treat you badly like any other good for nothing knight would?" He said, sounding quite disapproving at that. "No, I think not. Just because I am a son of a highborn noble and am a knight doesn't mean I'll treat everyone else like garbage. I respect everyone. And sides, your with one of my good friends, I'll never treat those who travel with him badly." He said, and smiled in a friendly way.
Fios listened as Daluec talked to the younger human boy. The younger elf Daluec was always kind to others it seemed, and he did respect everyone, no matter of their heritage, or race, or what they chose to do in life, he respected that, except the decision his father chose for him.
"Better not try to convince Daluec otherwise, he's very stubborn to what he thinks." Fios said, and grinned.
"Outside, alone with a woman."
Fios cocked his head to the side a little, and grimace slightly. He noticed Daluec just smirk a little.
" She ask me to do something and we'll get to work tomorrow morning at sunrise."
"Good. Perhaps you can tell me the details later. I think it best to talk with Daluec a while, since it has been over twenty years since I've last talked with him." He said. He knew Daluec was here in Imythess for more of a reason then just "peace and quiet". Daluec did something, and Fios wanted to know what. The redheaded sun elf looked at Fios a moment, then seemed to consider getting a drink.
Sigmund - March 7, 2008 03:34 PM (GMT)
So? That is still best way you can ever describe that woman. Insane, she is, I think.
Sigmund could not helpbut laugh. Even thouh Dualec was Fios's friend he was still laughing at the sight of his former girlfriend used to be. The young man thougth that Fios should be happy with even if it was not the best subject to talk about.
So does this mean that I have to treat you badly like any other good for nothing knight would? No, I think not. Just because I am a son of a highborn noble and am a knight doesn't mean I'll treat everyone else like garbage. I respect everyone. And sides, your with one of my good friends, I'll never treat those who travel with him badly.
The young warrior stroked the back of his neck of both shyness and nervosity. "WEll...thanks, It's just that i'm not used tothat much respect..." He went back to his regular position. "But nowi'm a merc, not a bandit anymore." This thougth made him feel good. A new life was waiting for him.
Better not try to convince Daluec otherwise, he's very stubborn to what he thinks
Sigmund nodded. "Okay, anyway... AS soon ashe was about to give the details of the job to Fios.
Good. Perhaps you can tell me the details later. I think it best to talk with Daluec a while, since it has been over twenty years since I've last talked with him
Sigmund stood from his chair. "Okay, so i'll tell you later and let you two catch up. I'll be in the room." On this he salute the two knights and headed towards the stairs. But he felt something or someone coming.
Menelanna - March 8, 2008 02:51 AM (GMT)
Celebriel slowly walked through the elven village. The half-dragon was nervous. She had not been in an elven village since her father's people sent her away. Her father, Earindil a master ranger and an elf.
She did not even know why or how she ended up here. Her wondering feet always seemed to bring her to the places her heritage could cause the most trouble. Well...it was too late to turn back. SHe was already in the village and the sun was sinking fast. All she could do was stay out of trouble and hopefully find an inn willing to keep her for the night.
She could feel the elves stares boring into her hard dragon skin. She bent her head low and walked on. Why did she fear their sharp eyes so much?
She kept her tail close to her as she moved through the village. It was best to keep the extra appandage close to her body to keep from accidently hitting someone with it. When that happened, trouble usually sprung up for the young half-dragon.
When she found the inn she slowly walked in. She walked right up the the inn keeper.
"Good evening," she said in fluent elvish. "May I get a room for the evening?"
The inn keeper looked at her for a moment before replying. "5 gold for the night."
Celebrial nodded and exchanged her gold for the key.
She noticed Sigmund looking around the room. When his eyes met her she gave him a greeting nod. She hoped he would not think her some sort of monster since she sported not only silver skin, but a tail and a set of horns too.
Sigmund - March 8, 2008 06:13 AM (GMT)
Sigmund was more curious about the half-dragon. He did not sees her as abeast but like a different smart beeings. The warrior realized that she had elven traits but scales as her skin. He went at her smiling. "Hello there, he said,Sorry to barge in like that but, i was wondering where you came from. Surely not from around..."
It was easy to guess since some of the villagers were glaring at her. He knew the elves as a peacefulrace, if they were not attacked, they would not attack. "Why are you around here?" He thought about having a half-dragon in his group of mercenaries but he would have to know Celebriel better.
"Oh, sorry i don't have any maner. My name is Sigmund Palmir, mercenary." It was a subtil way to tell it. but he wondered what would Fios think about having her in their group.
Fios - March 8, 2008 05:34 PM (GMT)
"Okay, so i'll tell you later and let you two catch up. I'll be in the room."
"Nice friend you have there, Fios." Daluec said, glancing at the boy, then at Fios again, he noticed the older elf looked slightly angry, though, it was pretty hard to tell. "Whats up, Fios?"
Fios stayed silent a while, wondering how he should ask his question, he tapped his finger on the table a moment, then spoke. "What did you do, Daluec? Your here for a reason. Either its because your with one of the search parties, or you did something so you came to hide. What is it?" He demanded, glaring at his friend.
Daluec looked uneasy, and shifted slightly, Fios saw his hand rest on the dragon head on his sword.
"Well, you are my friend, and it would be best to have you know... I killed Maythra." Daluec murmured. Fios stared at his friend with wide eyes, then leaned back, thinking this over. Maythra was Daluec little brother, who was 20 years younger then the red head elf. How did Daluec come to kill his own brother? Fios hadn't truly killed his sister, so was falsely accused, but this was bad. Daluec was a highborn noble, son of one of the greatest nobles in the city where Fios came from, and Maythra was just behind him, if Daluec didn't take his fathers place, then his brother would, but now the lord would be missing both his sons, so he would most likely look for Daluec.
Fios looked out over the crowds and noticed a strange looking person in the crowd, and his stomach clenched in fear. He looked away, and clenched his hands into fists. It was a half-dragon. Fios had a fear for dragons, almost anyone who went to the war he was in did. They had to kill dragon, and sometimes half-dragons. Last thing he wanted was to be reminded of dragons.
"Theres a half-dragon here." He whispered to Daluec, who also noticed the half-dragon, and watched.
"She also looks elven. The kinds we fought and killed were dragon and human, I don't believe I've seen a part elf one." Daluec said, and looked over at Fios. "Luckily, she doesn't look evil."
"You can never tell with those creatures." Fios hissed.
Menelanna - March 8, 2008 06:33 PM (GMT)
Celebriel studied the two men for brief moment before replying.
"Greetings Sigmund Palmir, my name is Celebriel. And as you seemed to have alredy figured out, I am a half-dragon. But I am also half-elf." she introduced herself. She held out one of her clawed hands for a hand shake, hoping it would not scare of the man.
She gave a sharp look to Fios. His hissed comment was not missed by her. Typical of an elf to assume the worst of her just because of her heritage.
"And no I am not evil. Please to not jump to conclusions just because of my look," she said calmly to him.
She turned her gaze back to Sigmund, "As for where I came from...you most likely would not know the place. I left the land of my birth many years ago. I plan on never returning there, so its name does not really matter."
She then cocked her head as she looked at Sigmund curiosly, "A mercinary huh? That is a bit of a dangerous life is it not?"
Sigmund - March 8, 2008 09:06 PM (GMT)
Greetings Sigmund Palmir, my name is Celebriel. And as you seemed to have alredy figured out, I am a half-dragon. But I am also half-elf.
Then if she knew that Sigmund guessed why was she explaining almost to make the young human stupid? He only nodded at the moment that the half dragon said her name. "Nice to meet ya, Celebriel." He turned towards the table of his elven friand and made him a sign to come. "Hey, Fios. I want you to meet someone."
And no I am not evil. Please to not jump to conclusions just because of my look.
Shooking his head, the young mercenary explained himself. "Got nothing againts anyone. Look i'm the son of a bandit who was renown around here...am not such a bad guy..." Still thinking about his desceased father brougth him painful memories.
As for where I came from...you most likely would not know the place. I left the land of my birth many years ago. I plan on never returning there, so its name does not really matter.
Sigmund just shrugged. It was only to have a conversation. But he suddenly feel tired. He had problems to keep his eyes opened.
A mercinary huh? That is a bit of a dangerous life is it not?
Sigmund smiled. "Well, maybe when you got no experience in danger. But i was a bandit and my friend was a knigth so...we are used to it." He was stroking his own ego, only to be well present in front of others people. Though, in the real situation he would not have this way of thinking. "If you are interested perhaps you could join us. But for tonight im tired and we have to get early tomorrow morning"
Fios - March 8, 2008 10:40 PM (GMT)
Fios watched the half-dragon speak to Sigmund, and he overhead her saying her name. He glared at her when she gave him a sharp look.
"And no I am not evil. Please to not jump to conclusions just because of my look,"
His eyes seemed to gleam with distaste, and distrust. He had fought many of her kind, even if they were part human instead of elf. Even if she was good, and not evil, he still had a doubt he'd ever trust this monster. He looked over at Daluec, who was smiling in a friendly manner towards the half-dragon, then looked towards Fios, and shook his head, still smiling.
"Don't think about the past right now, Fios. She doesn't look like the others." Daluec said. Fios wished he could believe his friend, but he didn't think he could trust anything his fought and killed several hundreds times. He looked at Sigmund, who had gestured for him to come over. Reluctantly, he stood up. Daluec stayed where he was, ordering a drink from a barmaid that came around. Fios walked over to the half-dragon and Sigmund.
"Well, maybe when you got no experience in danger. But i was a bandit and my friend was a knigth so...we are used to it."
His fingers twitched a little, annoyed that Sigmund was giving quite a bit of information away to this person he just met, and to the person who was a half-dragon. He grimaced slightly, then just tried to ignore that fact, but it was still nagging him. He decided to be at least a little polite. He bowed a little, stiffly.
"Greetings. I am Fios." He said, refusing to use his last name. He still didn't trust this person. He knew Sigmund wouldn't turn him in, but what about this person? Fios was accused of being a criminal, and he couldn't really trust anyone. He stood there, his hood still on his head, his features still shadowed, one hand resting on his sword.
Menelanna - March 9, 2008 01:20 AM (GMT)
Celebriel's sharp eyes rested on Fios for many long moments. She trusted him no more than he trusted her. It had always been hard for her to trust anyone, let alone someone who looked at her with such distain in his eyes.
At long last she spoke again. "Well me Fios," was all she said.
Well, maybe when you got no experience in danger. But i was a bandit and my friend was a knigth so...we are used to it
Celebriel nodded. "I can assure you I am no stranger to danger myself. Being one who is often mistaken for a demon or the like, I am quite use it it."
If you are interested perhaps you could join us. But for tonight im tired and we have to get early tomorrow morning
The half-dragon raised an eye brow at the inventation. SHe was interested that was for sure. But she was a little surprised that he would ask a stranger, let alone a stanger like her.
"And what exactly would you be doing?" she inquired. "I might just be interested in joining company with a fine fellow like yourself."
She gave Sigmund a friendly smile. She was quickly growing to like this man. Fios on the other hand would take some getting use to.
Sigmund - March 9, 2008 11:27 PM (GMT)
Greetings. I am Fios.
Perhaps Sigmund gave a detail on the elf profession, but not his identity. Even tough his face was hidden, how many guy in Imythess was named Fios, rare. Those in another country, perhaps lots.
Well me Fios,
The young warrior sighed. "Okay, i don't know what's your problem with each other. But try to atleast tolerate. You two are He looked at the elf Nice and looking at the half-dragon. Good people, pass over the races okay? It doesn't make the person we are."
I can assure you I am no stranger to danger myself. Being one who is often mistaken for a demon or the like, I am quite use it it.
Sigmund clapped his hands together. "Excellent, then you got all the requirements needed." If she was interested that was great a bigger group meant more able to be recognize. And then bigger influence, enough to reveal the truth about Fios to the world hoping that the father would lose his, or atleast a major part.
And what exactly would you be doing? I might just be interested in joining company with a fine fellow like yourself.
Sigmund blush at the compliment. He was always bad at receiving them. "Well, thanks...The more the merrier." He looked seriously at the two of his companions since his friend did not know about the deal. For a little professionalism, he stared at Celebriel. "I'm sorry can't tell unless you join, it's to save the privacy of my client."
Fios - March 10, 2008 01:12 AM (GMT)
"Okay, i don't know what's your problem with each other. But try to atleast tolerate. You two, Nice , Good people, pass over the races okay? It doesn't make the person we are."
Fios frowned slightly, his gaze still hard on the half-dragon, then he removed it, and looked over the crowds of people. He heard Daluec's laughter, as he was talking to one of the barmaids. Fios glanced towards the door, his hand tightening, then loosening on his sword. He was slowly getting annoyed at Sigmund, but hid that well. Sigmund was a good person, and wouldn't betray him. And maybe he was right about this half-dragon, maybe she was good too, but Sigmund was a fool for trusting this person right when he met her, and already asking her to join their group.
"I'm sorry can't tell unless you join, it's to save the privacy of my client."
Fios grim dark blue eyes now showed anger and annoyance. " Sigmund, don't be a fool. You just met this... person. You can't just instantly let her join us. You have no idea if she'd turn on us the second we turn our backs on her. He hissed. Fios learned not to trust anyone unless you know them for a while, or they prove themselves trustworthy, he learned it from the dark mage who had tortured him, and all those other people who turned on him. Even though, he trusted Belana with his life, he knew her since she was tiny, and she ended up turning on him too. He wasn't sure who he should trust or not, but he was sure they couldn't trust this half-dragon... yet.
Fios looked hard at Sigmund. The boy was to trusting. It would surely be the death of him one day, but hopefully, Fios could prevent that. The boy was still young, and had such a short life ahead of him, while Fios had hundreds of years left within him. He continued to watch the boy, wondering what his answer would be. If the boy turned down what Fios said, then the moon elf would get more annoyed.
Menelanna - March 10, 2008 02:38 AM (GMT)
Okay, i don't know what's your problem with each other. But try to atleast tolerate. You two, Nice , Good people, pass over the races okay? It doesn't make the person we are.
Celebriel merely nodded at this but decided to hold her tounge. She did not judge Fios for his race, she hated when that happened. Especially since people usually did that to her. Her distrust for the man came for his attitude towards herself.
I'm sorry can't tell unless you join, it's to save the privacy of my client.
Again the half-dragon nodded to this. "I understand and find that perfectly reasonable. I would be glad to join you."
Sigmund, don't be a fool. You just met this... person. You can't just instantly let her join us. You have no idea if she'd turn on us the second we turn our backs on her.
Celebriel's gaze fell upon Fios at this time again. She did not miss the fact that it seemed he was reluctant to call her a person. She knew he saw her as some sort of monster that would be best slain.
"And I in turn have no idea if you will put a dagger in my back as soon as you get the chance," she replied calmly to the elf. In truth she did not doubt that the elf would try to do such a thing, if he could stab past her hard scales that is.
"I do not know what your issue me is, may it be because I am indeed a stanger or if it because my mother just happens to be a silver dragon, she said with a forced smile. Traveling with this one would indeed be...interesting.
She purposely made a point at mentioning that her mother was a silver dragon, one of the races of dragon know for being of the good aligned type.
Sigmund - March 10, 2008 04:51 AM (GMT)
Sigmund, don't be a fool. You just met this... person. You can't just instantly let her join us. You have no idea if she'd turn on us the second we turn our backs on her.
The young warrior sighed. "Come on, trust my instincts. There is nothing sure in life. You are one of those who should know....Because i know too..." He was so sure that no one could kill his father but he was wrong. "Life is full of surprises, as much good then bad. If i'm wrong...and still alive after this i'll keep my mouth shut and follow you but for now please...."
I understand and find that perfectly reasonable. I would be glad to join you
Sigmund nodded. "I don't know for Fios but i welcome you But what are you abilities? But her look she did not seems to be a fighter. If she was a mage, what kind of mage was she? How could them make tactics for team attack? Those will all depends later.
And I in turn have no idea if you will put a dagger in my back as soon as you get the chance
"Don't worry.the young man says Me and Fios are not that kind of people. if we got a problem, first we speak. and besides His tone changeed to a comic one., We don't have any dagger hehehe!" Those types of jokes, Sigmund told them when he was tired. He would have to go to bed soon.
do not know what your issue me is, may it be because I am indeed a stanger or if it because my mother just happens to be a silver dragon
"A silver one? Aren't those who are good?Sigmund asked but he yawned a bit too loud afterwards. "Oh! I'm sorry. Well see you tomorrow, here when the sun will rise." He turned around, climbed the stairs and went into his room.
As he fell on his bed, Sigmund was excited for his future. Full of adventure. Women even ould be after him. He blused at the idea and started to snore since he was exhausted.
Fios - March 10, 2008 04:17 PM (GMT)
"Come on, trust my instincts. There is nothing sure in life. You are one of those who should know....Because i know too... Life is full of surprises, as much good then bad. If i'm wrong...and still alive after this i'll keep my mouth shut and follow you but for now please...."
Fios stayed silent. He would have to deal with this, even if he didn't like it. If the boy wanted a complete stranger to join them, then fine, just it would be Fios to get rid of the half-dragon if she tries anything. He wasn't going to just let her join and not be watched carefully. Though, Fios had to watch Sigmund also, since he met the boy not to long ago either, and still couldn't trust him yet.
"And I in turn have no idea if you will put a dagger in my back as soon as you get the chance,"
He, again stayed silent, finding no reason to say anything to that. He didn't trust her, and he knew that she wouldn't be able to trust him either, and somehow, Fios liked it that way better, then even trying to trust the half-dragon, he was always more alert around people he didn't trust. If he could remember one of his spells to detect her alignment, he would use it, but he always had a bad memory for spells. If he ever had a reason to kill her, it wouldn't be much of a problem to get by the scales. In the war camp, they were taught where to stab a half-dragon, since those were one of the main enemies they fought, besides dragons. There were a few enemy elves, and lots of humans, but those you could just stab anywhere, wherever the armor isn't.
"Don't worry.the young man says Me and Fios are not that kind of people. if we got a problem, first we speak. and besides, We don't have any dagger hehehe!"
He glanced at Sigmund, and just sighed and looked away, but looked up when Celebriel spoke.
"I do not know what your issue me is, may it be because I am indeed a stanger or if it because my mother just happens to be a silver dragon,"
He smiled, a near sarcastic smile. "Right you are, Celebriel. I hate dragons, whether they are good or evil. All are the same. I hate half-dragons for near the same reason. I hope you don't want me to say how many times a dragon and half-dragons tried to kill me." The former knight hissed. Anger lining his features.
"Oh! I'm sorry. Well see you tomorrow, here when the sun will rise."
He looked at Sigmund go, then he looked at the half-dragon. His already dark eyes seeming to darken more. "Don't be late." He said, then turned on his heel, and walked back to where Daluec Braveeye sat, and Fios pulled out a chair and sat, and started talking to his friend.
Menelanna - March 11, 2008 02:04 AM (GMT)
"I don't know for Fios but i welcome you But what are you abilities?
Celebriel had been wondering when that question was going to come.
"I am a soceress and will be specializing in ice magic," she explained.
Oh! I'm sorry. Well see you tomorrow, here when the sun will rise
The half-dragon nodded. "Good night good sir. I shall see you in the morning," she bid him goodnight.
She then looked over to Fios. Great...she was now left alone with someone who seemed to hate her.
Right you are, Celebriel. I hate dragons, whether they are good or evil. All are the same. I hate half-dragons for near the same reason. I hope you don't want me to say how many times a dragon and half-dragons tried to kill me
"All dragons are the same huh? Try saying that to any dragon, they would indeed be insulted. Though I can garantee you that a red would kill you for the remark, a silver on the other hand would just be angered."
"And I do not care what you oppion of dragons, or half-dragons is. For is have the same feeling for arrogant, pompus, racist idiots like yourself," she said in a calm voice flashing an almost innocent sweet smile.
"Now if you would excuse me, I think I shall follow our companions lead and be off to my bed. Have a lovely evening."
With that she headed upstairs and found her room. She quickly got ready for bed and laid herself down. SHe knew she would need sleep. Sigmund she knew would be enjoyable to travel with, but Fios would prove to be...difficult. The journey ahead would be an interesting one indeed
Fios - March 14, 2008 03:42 AM (GMT)
Fios heard what the half-dragon said, and he didn't really care what she said, but when she basically called him a racist, he flinched slightly, but he showed nothing of it on his face. He kept his grim look, not seeming cheerful at all. He went back to Daluec, and spoke to him quietly, so no one could hear. He glanced up, watching the half-dragon leave, then turned to Daluec again, and stood there
"I hope to see you again, Daluec, but I must try to rest a little. It seems I barely sleep anymore. Enemies are everywhere, or the search parties seem to be." He said, and it didn't help at all that Daluec was in Imythess, charged with the murder of his younger brother. Daluec smiled in a friendly way still, barely even acting like his problems weren't bad, but Fios knew Daluec was terrified. "I'll see you later, friend." Fios said, and turned on his heel and went up the steps to his room.
He walked in the room. He glanced at the sleeping form of Sigmund, considering to wake the boy up, since Fios wanted to know more about this job the human took. Shaking his head, Fios went to his own, and unclipped his sword and scabbard from his belt and leaned the weapon against the wall. He looked out the window a moment and into the darkness, before turning towards Sigmund.
"Sigmund, wake up." Fios said calmly, and prodded the boy in the shoulder with one of his fingers, then he took a few steps back, his dark eyes staring at the boy. "I want to know of the job you took for us." He said, and then wondered if he should lecture the boy or something about letting the half-dragon join. Fios figured he probably shouldn't. Let the boy do what he wants, Fios would just have to keep his eye out for trouble, and at least sometimes try to advise the boy not to do anything foolish.
Sigmund - March 14, 2008 11:48 AM (GMT)
Sigmund, wake up.
The boy slightly woke up. It's not have been too long since he had fallen asleep."Mmmh? What? Is it already sun rise?" He had lost the notion of time. He had been dreaming about adventures and powers, Magical equipments, strange monsters and all kinds off things.
I want to know of the job you took for us.
True, Sigmund did not talk about the job to the elven yet. He slowly rised from his bed, his eyes still half-closed. Trying to find Fios in the darkness of the room. "We need to bring a unknown item to a city. Suppose to be any common object with a great personnal value. She will give us a quarter of the golds here, and someone we need to find a the city will give us the rest."
Even though, the young warrior was tired, he knew that the former knight will ask why."She is scared of bandits and corrupted rangers. That's her reason." He felled back on his bed, still quite tired. "If you don't have any question, better go to bed, it might be a long day tomorrow."
Nightwind - March 14, 2008 06:27 PM (GMT)
Fios listened to Sigmund as the boy talked, who seemed to be only half-awake to Fios. He did wonder why the woman didn't deliver the item herself, and when Sigmund said why, Fios didn't know if he believed that. Sure there were bandits about but there aren't many corrupted rangers, from what Fios had seen anyway, but Fios believed it may be something more, but who knows? Already Fios didn't trust the person who gave Sigmund the job, even if he hasn't met her or anything. It was obviously something important, if not, the woman wouldn't need mercenaries to do it.
"If you don't have any question, better go to bed, it might be a long day tomorrow."
He thought a moment, then turned away. He didn't have anything else to say. He should get some rest, but was a little paranoid like he has been for most of his life. He shook his head slightly. He considered taking his chainmail off, but he was used to sleeping in it, and the cool metal seemed to calm him sometimes, so he left it on. He took his cloak off and laid on the bed.
He soon fell into a deep, dreamless sleep.
((OOC: oops... sorry, wrong account again, lol))
Sigmund - March 17, 2008 12:51 AM (GMT)
The night passed peacefully and strangely, Sigmund woke up a bit before sunrise. He prepared to go to down the stairs and saw Fios sleeping for the first time in three days. He smiled, atleast the elven had some rest perhaps he would act nicer towards the half dragon. The young human shook the former knight. "Hey, Fios wake up! Time to go" Then e went downstairs.
If his friend was not awake, it would matter. The young mercenary could go take the misterious object and then bring it back to his partners.Talking about partners, where was Celebriel? She must be sleeping too. Sigmund did not know at wich time the two others went to bed after him. He did not know how much time had passed until Fios woke him up. He shrugged.
The downstairs was empty, not like last night. He remembered the hooded woman. She had to be an elf, or a beautiful human. Either case, it would bring money and he hoped, popularity. Sigmund walked outside and went to the side of the forest where he had talked last night with the misterious object.
Few minutes later, the hodded woman appeared with a chest from the size og basket. The young mercenarie looked at it. "So that's the thing we need to bring?" The woman nodded.
Menelanna - March 17, 2008 04:37 AM (GMT)
Celebriel rose early. She always did. She figured her companions were still asleep so she took her time preparing herself for the day.
Once she was dress and ready the half-dragon pick up her stuff and made her way downstairs. She was surprised to see her human companion already awake.
He must be really eager to be on the road. I do wonder where my charming elven friend is... she thought to herself.
She walked over to Sigmund. "Good morning to you," she greeted with a smile. "You are an early riser it seems."
She saw the woman enter and walk up to Sigmund. The half-dragon grew quite and studied the woman closely. "So...this must be our employer." she thought silently. "Lets see what our task is."
Fios - March 19, 2008 04:49 PM (GMT)
"Hey, Fios wake up! Time to go"
His dark blue eyes slowly opened, and he got into a sitting position, while looking out the window, and he sighed. It felt like he didn't get much rest, but oh well, he was used to getting little sleep, from the training at the academy, and in the war. He got off the bed and stood, and glanced about the room, seeing the Sigmund must have gone down. He shrugged lightly, as he put his cloak back on, and clipped his sword on too. He made sure he had all his things he had been carrying with him, which was mainly his sword, everything else was with his horse Seer which he was going to have to call.
He walked down the stairs, and into the main room. He saw the half-dragon, and his eyes flashed a little, but then he shook his head slightly, it would do no good to fight right now. He looked about the room, hoping to see Daluec up, or here again, but saw no sign of the tall redheaded elf. He grimaced a little, then left the tavern, and walked out into the cool morning air.
He touched a ring he wore, that had a carving of a horse on it, and he mumbled the word "Seer" quietly, and then, not too far, a light gray horse materialized. It was soon done materializing and it stood there, stomping its hoof. Fios walked to the beautiful horse and stroked its neck. "How you feeling, Seer? Hopefully we won't be going into battle today." He said. Seer had been in ethereal plane, recovering from a couple arrow wounds, but they weren't that bad, she just needed to rest. He moved to the horses side, and checked his pack that was attached to the back of the saddle, and made sure he had all his equipment. Then he made sure the saddle was on good, and that his two scimitars on the addle were in good condition.

Good morning to you
Sigmund nodded back to her with a smile. She had come that was good but where could be Fios? Well, if he was still sleeping, the young man would wake him up for good. "Good morning to you too, did you slept well?"
The woman put the chest straigth in front of the young mercenary's feet. She rised up and nodded "Yes, to Taras..." The hodded woman stared at the half-dragon. "A friend of yours? I did not see her last night" The young human nodded. "Yeah, she joined us..." The look of the employer suddenly staring at him made him feel nervous. He knew that not everyone trusted half-dragon but still. "...Back last night. She was completing on one of her own mission..." The woman bowed to Celebriel. "I'm sorry i should not have judge so quickly..." She turns at her employee. " You must be a good leader and have a good heart to accept one of her kin. I'm glad i made the right choice.
She took a small bags of golds and handed over to the mercenary. "I wish you luck and may the gods watch over you." She bowed once more and left. Sig put the bag to his belt and lifted the chest. It was not as heavy as he was expecting it to be...Satrange "Okay let us go find Fios."

"Good morning to you too, did you slept well?"
Celebriel nodded, "I did."
The half-dragon tensed a bit as the woman looked at her. Was she once again to be rejected? Feared because of what she was?
Celebriel stared in shock as the woman bowed to her. No one had ever shown her respect in that manner! Once the innitial shock wore off Celebriel gracefully returned the bow.
"I thank you for your kindness, my Lady."She then turned her piercing blue eyes to Sigmund, "And the one here does indeed have a good heart to trust me in the group. I promise I will not to dissapoint."
When the employer left Celebriel turned and walked over to the bar keeper, who was busy cleaning some tables. She exchanged a few quite words with him and gave him some coins. He dissappeared and returned a moment later with a small bag.
She walked back over to Sigmund, reached into the bag and handed him a small louf of buttered bread before taking one out for herself.
"A bit of breakfast for the road," she said with kind smile. "There is one for Fios too...but I think you should give it to him," she handed him the bag. "Something tells me he won't want to take food from a half-dragon."
"I saw him go outside earlier. Shall we go find our elusive friend?"

Kaess had just finished rising from sleeping at the inn. He preformed his morning exercises. He had finished getting his supplies and couldn’t wait to get out of town they always made him nervous and the people always looked at him strange. He decided that now was the time to leave and quickly went down. As he went down he inspected his coin purse and realized he was almost out. Mumbles to himself “Darn got to find a job soon.”
Kaess was distracted by these thoughts and didn’t even notice that there were people in his path out of the inn. He didn’t even notice that one of them was a silver half-dragon. Walking quickly to get out of town and into the more comfortable surroundings of the forest, he rams into the back of Celebriel.
Shocked he stumbles back, but manages to recover. Bring his head up he says, “Oh sorrr…..??? ….. wha …”.
Even more shocked he thinks, ‘Yikes another half dragon! She’s silver….. and female!! …… and cute.’
After a minute passes he seems to recover and say slightly embarrassedly, “Again sorry I really should have been paying attention. So who are you?” If she looks closely she may see what seems to be a blush, but it might be just the light glinting off his scales.
He then notices that there is another person standing next to her. “Oh hi, didn’t see you there. You a friend of this lady?” He seems to be to thoroughly nervous about this entire event, but at the same time he is a curious about these two. They seem like an odd pair might be interesting to find out more or travel with them.

Celebriel let out a small surprised yell as someone slammed into her and sent her falling forward. She slowly stood back up and brushed the dust of off her robes.
“Oh sorrr…..??? ….. wha …”.
"Don't worry about it," she said without even looking at him. She then turned to face the new commer. "I am su...wha....?!"
She stared open mouthed at the half-dragon before her. She had never met another half-dragon in her life! He seemed to be as much surprised to see her as she was to see him.
'Another half-dragon? And...a gold one....and not bad looking too. Fios is going to *love* this,' she thought to herself.
After a minute passes he seems to recover and say slightly embarrassedly, “Again sorry I really should have been paying attention. So who are you?”
Celebriel was so surprised she did not even notice the amount of time that had passed before he spoke again. His voice seemed to awaken her from her shock somewhat.
"Uh..."she began sounding rather dumb. "I...I am Celebriel. And who are you?" She then cocked her head with a curious expression on her face. She looked at him closely, "Are you blushing?"
“Oh hi, didn’t see you there. You a friend of this lady?”
"Oh...this is Sigmund. He has been kind enough to let me join his adventuring group." She then looked back her fellow half-dragon. SHe really wanted to get to know him better. She looked to Sigmund, "Think we could use another companion?"
