Title: Morning
Description: OPEN
Falcas Durrall - February 10, 2008 12:13 AM (GMT)
“Dearest brother, you know of these things. What is the land like?” A young-looking red-bearded dwarf asked. His larger companion looked to the stalactite-ridden ceiling. “I take it you mean the land of the giants, lad. It's a terrible place. The beasts are larger than our own, and the People six foot high!” he reached a stubby arm up above his head, exaggerating slightly the given height.
“Terrible, too. They'll destroy ye without a thought. That's why so few of us ever leave the mountain. And I advise you to do the same.” The brother said. Nodding, the younger dwarf opened the large door, giving off a groaning sound. The sound echoed around the cavern before him, growing louder and louder. It became deafening and the youth yelled for it to stop, holding his hands over his ears. Forms materialized, giant, hideous beings with six fingers and fangs. They all reached at him, hands crowding his vision.
Falcas sat up quickly, ramming his forehead into the nightstand. He stood groggily, short legs barely holding, and looked into the large mirror, a polished panel of metal. A large red welt lay neatly across his brow, throbbing painfully. He cursed and rubbed it, looking around the room.
His sheets lay on the floor, moist with sweat. Apparently he had fallen out of bed in his nightmare. “Ugh.” He groaned as a large headache pierced his skull like a hundred arrows. Looking around the room again, he spotted a bottle of some alcoholic drink whose contents he did not know of. “Barkeeps idea of a nice, good mead? I think not. Probably some kind of poison.” He mumbled and grumbled to himself as he struggled into a clean set of clothes, worn from travel.
Falcas struggled downstairs from his room, cursing the barkeep every step of the way. He sat at the bar, head in his arms on the bar. He heard a laugh as the barkeep saw him. “strong enough for ye?” the man asked cheerily.
“I've had hammer blows that hurt less.” Falcas muttered "You seem awfully cheerful for a man without a soul."
The man seemed to be enjoying himself. “Quite possibly. You want something to drink?” He asked, wiping a mug clean.
“Just give me something to kill the wee man with the drum.” He said, rubbing his temples.
Nightwind - February 10, 2008 05:17 AM (GMT)
Sava stood in her small room in the tavern, looking in a mirror at herself. She wore a long black dress, with nice long bells sleeves. It was a beautiful dress, perfect for her needs, as she was to confront a noble today, though, later in the day, evening, and it was merely morning, but she didn't mind, she planned to wander the streets today anyway, and not bother getting into a fight or anything, even if the guards may try to come after her, she just have to somehow avoid them.
"Well, how do you like this dress, Blackquill?" The dragon woman asked the small dragon, that was wrapped around her throat, looking like a little necklace. Lovely. Was all the fly dragon said, yawning. Grinning slightly, Sava stroked the small dragon, then turned on her heel. She was in a oddly cheerful mood, even if her meeting later today will turn out like hell, she didn't care. If nobles didn't accept her, she blow them all to ashes. She left her room and walking down the small hallway to the stairs, and walked down them. She has been in this tavern several hundreds times it seems, and most of the time, the same bartender, like today. When she reached the bottom of the stairs, she gave the bartender a charming smile, though, it was tinted with evilness. The bartender merely glared at her. Even if he was in a cheerful mood, he still despised Sava, who had torn down his tavern a long time ago.
She went the counter, and sat down in a chair, not far from the dwarf.
"'Ello, m'dear. I would like a glass of elven wine... even if it is still morning. Need something to keep one going with a long day ahead." She told the bartender, who refused to speak to her, but got what she wanted. She loved tormenting the poor fellow, but she did all playfully, and just to have fun. It was her thing of having a good time.
She cocked her head towards the dwarf. "Didn't have a good nights rest, last night, did you, sir dwarf?" She asked. She could nearly tell he didn't, since she often woke with a headache or feeling groggy from her curse of nightmares forever, and of her recent ones, of her mother, and the dwarf didn't really look like he didn't, but maybe all dwarf's act that way. She didn't know.
Falcas Durrall - February 10, 2008 03:27 PM (GMT)
Falcas heard an unfamiliar voice request elven wine somewhere not far away from himself. The bartender said nothing, but still fetched a glass and poured the wine. Seconds later, Falcas heard a thump in front of him. Peering from the makeshift shelter of his folded arms, he looked mistrustfully at the bartender and wrapped one hand around the oddly-colored vial and smelled it. A smell of rotting plants and apples floated out of it. He grimaced and looked at the Bartender. “ 'Ow do I know this isn't poisoned like my mead was?” He asked slowly.
The man laughed and replied “It's the antidote to a bad hangover, my friend. Bought a batch from the alchemist down the road. Why would I poison you? You're single-handedly keeping my mead supply dry.” He laughed, now paying little attention to the newcomer. Falcas took a swig and almost instantly felt his mind begin to clear. He sighed and set it down, feeling better. “Almost tasted as good as it smells.” He commented with a playful tone. “I take it you're feeling better?” The bartender said. “Aye.”
A voice floated to him. “Didn't have a good nights rest, last night, did you, sir dwarf?” The human woman next to him asked. Falcas peered at her curiously. He decided he could trust her, as was his way, not a very bright way, but his way. He chuckled and nodded. “No thanks to this... Gentleman here.” He swung an arm in a wide gesture, knocking over the potion and almost hitting the bartender. “Damn. I needed that.” Falcas said sadly. He looked over Sava, taking in her appearance.
She wore a black dress, something he hadn't seen at this particular bar during his stay. Her hair was black with green streaks, something he had not seen in one of the giant folk period. Even her eyes had the green specks in them. His eyes were drawn, however, to the necklace she wore. It gleamed, as if made from the finest metal, but not any he had ever seen. He looked curiously at it, eyes drawn to the intricacy of the scales and head. It was shaped like a small dragon. Upon further inspection, however, he noticed it breathing.
“Nice friend you have there. Haven't seen one of those in some time.” He laughed, pointing at her necklace casually. He noticed the bartender looking at her with a look of distaste. “You really should be kinder to your patrons, good friend. They may not come back if you continue on like this."
Nightwind - February 10, 2008 06:58 PM (GMT)
Sava watched the bartender a moment, then looked at the dwarf, who drank from the vial, and she cocked her head a little, and wondered what it was, but the bartender talked to the dwarf, saying it was an antidote for a hangover. She smiled slightly. Since she was a dragon, it was near impossible for her to get drunk, she would have to spend hours drinking if she ever wanted to get drunk, but, she wasn't a fool to let that happen, even in her worst of moods. She considered getting drunk, and having a hangover afterwards a disgust, and disgrace, but she never said that to anyone, since she had a friend who got drunk, and she had been very disgusted with him. She turned her gaze away from the dwarf, and stared into the wine she had, then took a sip of it.
“No thanks to this... Gentleman here.”
She smirked slightly, then looked at the bartender a moment.
“Nice friend you have there. Haven't seen one of those in some time.”
Sava laughed. "See, Blackquill, people notice you." She said, stroking the fly dragon again. "Fly dragons aren't very common. There are very few in the world I believe." She said, wondering about that. She would have to go to the library, and look up fly dragons, it would be an interesting thing to know, since Blackquill, didn't always tell Sava everything.
“You really should be kinder to your patrons, good friend. They may not come back if you continue on like this."
Once more, the dragon woman laughed. "Oh, he doesn't have to, he knows I'll always come. This is my favorite tavern, even if he doesn't treat me so well. He has a reason too, since when did that accident happen? Two years ago? Ah, that was so long ago." She said, sadly, then she smiled evilly, then laughed, and shook her head, then she turned to look at the dwarf again.
"Well, sir dwarf, I'm Savarkael, but you can call me Sava. Can I have your name?" She said politely. She basically trusted the dwarf now, he didn't seem like he would turn on her, so why not tell him her name? There was no harm in doing so.
Falcas Durrall - February 10, 2008 09:05 PM (GMT)
Falcas laughed on her comment to the fly dragon. Surely beautiful, but near useless. This one seemed to match it's owner. 'See, Blackquill, people notice you.' The woman said. His curiosity was furthered by this comment. Either she made assumptions based on the thing's mood, or she could speak to it. He had heard something about the being that held these traits from his father's lessons, but he had slept through most of them, and could barely remember the rest. “I should know something about her, but I can't quite put my finger on it.” He thought to himself.
“Oh, he doesn't have to, he knows I'll always come. This is my favorite tavern, even if he doesn't treat me so well. He has a reason too, since when did that accident happen? Two years ago? Ah, that was so long ago.“
Falcas laughed, toying with the idea of spiting the barkeep before his departure. He had earned it, after all. He was thinking to himself various ways to perform such a task, but lost his train of thought and returned his attention to the bar. “I'll have a mead for myself.” He said, eying the woman's wine. “Never been one for wine myself. Strong enough, no doubt, but it's a drink for the giants.” He said matter-of-factly. He thought over his statement, and decided she may become confused by his choice of words.
“Giants meaning, err... Humans and such. Still haven't gotten over other races yet. It's only been a month.” He said brightly before taking a swig of mead. It was morning now, and he wasn't as tired. “Yer foul mead won't be killing me now, sir.” He chuckled at the barkeep.
"Well, sir dwarf, I'm Savarkael, but you can call me Sava. Can I have your name?"
“I'm Falcas, of Clan Durrall. Pleased to meet you, Sava.” He said, happy to have a new friend in this land of beasts and enemies. “Hope we can become the best of friends.” He said, becoming calmer.
OOC: i'm doing so much better posting!
Nightwind - February 13, 2008 08:10 PM (GMT)
Sava grinned when he spoke of how of how he never liked wine, but frowned slightly when he said giants, but knew what he meant, he wasn't the first dwarf she met, but, she couldn't remember what the name of the last dwarf she met was, it was so long ago. She smiled when he explained what he meant what he meant. "Well, I mainly drink wine because it has the strongest effect on me, I suppose. No alcohol ever effects me, unless I drink way to much at a time, but that will never happen." She said, running a hand through her oddly colored hair, then pulled her hair back, and pulled out a small thin piece of leather seemingly out of nowhere, and tied her hair back in a ponytail.
"If you plan to stay in the cities and such, I bet it won't be long before you learn of the man races here. But there are hundreds, I'm not even sure I know of them all." She said, considering that a moment. Through her own travels, she has met hundreds of different races, mixtures two, some part dark elf, and an other type of elf, or part celestial or demon. There were to many different races she has seen, she can't recall all of them sadly.
“Yer foul mead won't be killing me now, sir.”
Sava laughed cheerfully, then just grinned while taking a sip of wine again. She straightened up slightly, when the dwarf introduced himself as Falcas, of Clan Durrall.
"Pleased to meet you too, Falcas. And yes, I hope we do become good friends." She smiled softly, then looked into the red liquid. She then looked at Falcas. "Why are you so far from the mountains, Falcas?" She aske,d she wasn't exactly sure he was from the mountains, she just took a wild guess.
Falcas Durrall - February 16, 2008 07:54 PM (GMT)
Falcas chuckled to himself quietly, pleased to make the woman laugh. He enjoyed her company, she was full of life, much more so than most the other patrons in the place. Most of the others were a solemn bunch, most unfitting for such a lively city.
“Why are you so far from the mountains, Falcas? “
He smiled and thought it over for a second. There was not much to tell, he was told stories of the evils of the surface by his brother, and his father had hardly mentioned them at all. Several occasions flitted through his mind, including the previous night's nightmare. He smiled at the tall tales and returned from his deep thoughts.
“I came to investigate, more or less. I was a curious lad, and My family told me stories of terrible giants and enormous beasts in the lands beyond the mountain range.” He laughed to himself. “Only parts of it were true, I guess. The other dwarves advised against going outside, but their advice fell on deaf ears. I packed up provisions and my mace and left home. Took me a good few weeks to find my way out, but eventually I came to the village of Kellen. Stayed for some time before hearing about an even larger city, of varied races.” He chuckled once more, tugging at his beard.
“So I came to Taras, curious. I've been here a couple weeks, and plan to do some more adventuring before I'm finished.” He said. “And that's my story. How about you? What brings you to this city?”
He took a sip and looked back at the Fly dragon, admiring it. Perhaps questions would be answered if she chose to divulge her story.
Kyrus Lynin - February 19, 2008 09:04 AM (GMT)
Kyrus entered the Inn and taking a table by himself he studied the other patrons. Although he was a High Elf it was evident that there was a hint of a Dark Elf in him brought forth by how he was treated by others and recent events. As usual a hood hid his face as he looked about and silently, without speaking ordered an ale. An air of mystery and intrigue hung about him which perhaps would draw the interest of others. A Scimitar hung from his belt and it was easily within reach should things turn violent, outside the window waited his Gryphon, his loyal and constant companion.
Lethuron Windwolf - February 19, 2008 11:49 AM (GMT)
Lethuron sat at a table, squinting from the bright lights in the tavern, his hood pulled low on his face to hide his black skin and white main of hair, and to protect his eyes. Lethuron stroked the hilt of his sword as he sat, affectionately thinking back to times when it would have been put to good uses, slaying the enemies of Matron Penithro. And then house De' Paleth, his house had fallen, and he had fled into the underdark, serving with a mercenary group for ten years until that too had been crushed, and he had run to the surface, hunted by the Drow of Kil-Thornit.
Sipping his dark wine, and wondering why humans would pay so much for the vile stuff, Lethuron scanned the room with icy blue eyes.
Looking over, he saw Kyrus, and lowered his head further. A drow... he thought and considered the possibilities of the Drow being there. After a couple of minutes he decided that he was not there to do him harm, and returned to the wine.
eugh...
Nightwind - February 21, 2008 02:23 AM (GMT)
Sava listened to his story in silence, her strange eyes watching him for part of it, then she looked at any of the people here, though, since it was still only morning, there was really no one here, but she did notice a few. She noticed a very familiar elf, and she was curious about him, but her eyes were drawn to a darker figure. She paid little attention to both those people and looked at Falcas, a smile upon her face. It was nice to be making a new friend. It has been awhile since she has met someone new, a dwarf at that. She laughed a little when he finished speaking.
"I had no idea dwarves are frightened of humans and such. Shows how much more I need to research at the library sometime." She said, grinning. She took a drink of her wine, and gulped down the last bit. "I hope you enjoy your stay among the... giants." She said, smiling in a amused way.
“And that's my story. How about you? What brings you to this city?”
She cocked her head slightly, and thought a moment, and wondered if he would be one who she could trust. She would just have to make everything a bit modified, where she would say nothing about being a dragon, since she figured it would be best to keep that quiet now, especially since she had goals to reach. She rested her hands on her lap, thinking a moment still, then opened her mouth to speak.
"I've been around Imythess for two years. When I first came, it was to get away from my past, and old friends... Things were getting... Troubled? Anyway, I often come to this city. I have been recently trying to get nobles to notice me, and accept me. But its a lot harder then I thought it would be to become a noble of sorts. Thats why I'm here today, and wearing this... dress thing." She said and laughed, her dark eyes lighting up. She shrugged then. "I guess I don't have much of a story. But... I suppose one interesting thing about me is that my mother is hunting me down, trying to find me. Seems my past is catching up with me." She said, and shrugged again, like it didn't matter.
Her eyes flicked to the door, then back at Falcas. She believed she was getting a little paranoid, since her mother started hunting Sava down. There were spies every where, and more and more assassins came after her.
She noticed the dawrf looking at the fly dragon again, and so did Blackquill. The tiny dragon lifted its head, and stared at the dwarf, its tiny, buggy eyes seeming quite intense. Sava smirked, when Quill started complaining telepathically to her. "Blackquill doesn't like you staring at her." Sava laughed.
Falcas Durrall - February 24, 2008 09:12 PM (GMT)
"Enjoy your stay among the... giants."
Falcas laughed and nodded. "I'll be sure to do that. guess they aren't all bad." He grinned. He waved a hand at the bartender, who gave him a new mug of mead. He took a big swallow and watched Sava.
He listened to her story as quietly and respectably as she had been through his own ramblings. He gave a small belch, which he covored with one hand, an apologetic look on his face.
"Seems my past is catching up with me."
He smiled and nodded. "It appears as such." He chuckled at the idea of Sava's mother looking for her. He never payed any thought to such actions by a taller mother. It seemed the sort of thing a Dwarven woman would do, chasing after children so far.
His thought skimmed this last bit, reflecting on her words. it had taken her a minute of silence to gather her story. Perhaps she was not telling the whole truth. He took a swig of mead and thought to himself. 'if she does not wish to tell me something, then i will not press her to do so. If she wishes, she will tell me when she deems it time. until then, i will not pester her about it.' he took another swig.
"Blackquill doesn't like you staring at her."
Falcas laughed and bowed slightly to the small dragon. "My apologies, mighty dragon." He chuckled in good humor. Even for one so small, it was a dragon, and deserved respect nonetheless. He always had a large respect for the race from stories he was told, and for the one experience he had with a dragon in his youth.
Kyrus Lynin - March 4, 2008 10:46 AM (GMT)
Kyrus walked in and looked about for anyone he knew, scanned the crowd he recognized a face he knew and approached her giving a nod in greeting to the other man nearby. It could be seen that Kyrus was a High Elf but he was not fond of the reputation his people had and was trying to right the wrongs down ages ago, he smiled at Sava as he approached and bowed in respectful greeting to her "Sava, it is Kyrus," he said warmly in greeting "do you remember me, from the Cathedral Ruins?" His eyes sparkled in a friendly way and he was silent as he waited for her reply. As usual his cat Samson was perched on his shoulder and his furry tail tickled Kyrus' back as the cat watched the two figures before him with curiousity.
Nightwind - March 5, 2008 04:57 AM (GMT)
"I'll be sure to do that. guess they aren't all bad."
She thought about humans and all the other races he meant by giants and such. There were hundreds of people who were good, but more that were evil, you just have to find the right ones you want to be around with. She hoped this dwarf would have a fine time in Imythess, and not have to deal with many bandits and such, but who knows, dangers were around every corner, waiting for you, always. She took a drink of her stuff, then cracked her knuckles.
"My apologies, mighty dragon."
That seemed to make Blackquill happy. The little fly dragon flew up into the air, and then buzzed around the bartenders head, who tried swatting the little dragon away, but soon the fly dragon flew over towards the dwarf, and went around his head a few times before slipping out a crack in the door. Sava was unconcerned where Blackquill went, after all, the fly dragon was over a hundred years old, and did whatever she wanted.
"Sava, it is Kyrus, do you remember me, from the Cathedral Ruins?"
Sava perked up slightly, and quickly turned to look at the elf, a slight smile found its way on her face. "Ahh, Kyrus. I remember. I never forget a face, nor name, especially if I've fought alongside them." She said, smiling. She glanced at the cat, but didn't pay it much mind. "How have you been faring, Kyrus?" She asked in a polite tone, and friendly.
She then looked at the dwarf, and figured it would be best to introduce him to the elf.
"Falcas, this is a friend of mine, Kyrus. Kyrus, this is Falcas." She said in a calm even tone.
Falcas Durrall - March 5, 2008 02:28 PM (GMT)
Falcas laughed at the antics of the fly dragon, not minding it circling his head at all. He watched it fly out and cocked an eyebrow. Dragon or not, she was a tiny one and may get hurt outside. He thought about what could happen. He looked at Sava, curious. She didn't seem at all concerned, and she knew the dragon better than he. He brushed off his worries and sipped his mead, looking around the tavern.
A high elf walked into the tavern, and upon seeing Sava, he walked over and bowed. Falcas grew curious and watched. The man had a cat on his shoulder, much to Falcas' displeasure. He disliked cats, being allergic to them. He sneezed and took in a great sniff, before Sava introduced him.
“Nice to meet yer, Kyrus. Even if yer like cats.” He laughed, set down his mug, and reached out to shake his hand. He had no particular towards high elves in particular, even though the last one he saw was a snotty rich one. But he didn't base an assumption on a race on just one person. Falcas grinned.
“So what bring yer to Taras?” He asked, still liking to know about his friends and acquaintances. He was trusting, not stupid. Many had believed otherwise and now lay in the ground with a large dent in their skull.
Kyrus Lynin - March 5, 2008 10:13 PM (GMT)
Kyrus smiled warmly at Sava "I have been a tad busy but very well thank you, I have been doing a spot of Goblin hunting. It was a while ago that we last met in thso ruins and I thought that with everything that has happened since you might not remember me but I am glad that you do," he said and smiled warmly to her. He nodded and smiled again as he was introduced to Falcas "Ah a Dwarf!" he said with a happy smile "I am immensely found of your kin, you are a very kind folk. Why, when I was a little elf boy I spent time among the Dwarves in the mountains near Kellen," he shook Falcas' hand warmly and smiled at him. He then whistled for Samson to go back home "Terribly sorry, I didn't realise you might be allergic to cats and Samson there follows me everywhere," he laughed.
"What brings me to Taras you ask?" he said and took a seat with his friend Sava and Falcas "why I live nearby, I have travelled for a long while and I decided to settle here. But don't worry I still love travelling and adventuring," he said "What about you Falcas?"
Nightwind - March 27, 2008 03:40 PM (GMT)
Sava watched the two talk for a while, then she turned and took a long drink of her wine. Just then, something jumped around her legs, and she glanced down and saw the most annoying thing ever... the Furfur. She grimaced in annoyance, and then kicked the little thing away, but it just continued to hop towards her. She reached a hand into a pouch, and brought out a small piece of candy, and then threw it under a table. The small fuzzy creature gave chase to the candy. Sava turned her attention back to the dwarf and elf.
"why I live nearby, I have travelled for a long while and I decided to settle here. But don't worry I still love travelling and adventuring,"
She looked at Kyrus a moment, then sort of wished she lived somewhere near Taras, instead of living near the Memphian Falls. If she had decided to build her home here, then she supposed that would have made things a bit easier for her, then she wouldn't have to stay at taverns, but no, she liked living where she did, it was calm, and peaceful, no guards ever came there, making it a safe place for her to go, and luckily, no dragon slayer have wandered there.
Blackquill soon came back, and curled around Sava's neck again, looking once more like a necklace. "Horse is fine. So is Felix, but he's getting annoyed, and wants to go home." Quill said to Sava telepathically like usual. She smiled slightly. Felix her umbra was still young and seemed to be very impatient. At least the horse wasn't as intelligent as Blackquill and Felix, if Jenna was, then Sava would have a whole herd of impatient animals. She shifted slightly, and considered going off to see the market today, there were some things that she needed. New whetstone was one thing, hers was getting... small? She always seemed to sharpen her swords.
Sava cursed then, and tapped her side, then she stood up from where she sat. ""I forgot my sword." She said, then she walked towards the stairs in long strides, her black dress flowed after her. She went up the stairs quickly and into her room. She grabbed her Lightning blade, that was strapped in its scabbard, then she took hold of her bag of Neverending space and tied the bag on the black thin belt she wore, then she left then room, still carrying her longsword. "I hate it when I forget my precious sword." She said, then clipped the scabbard and the sword on her left side, she traced her fingers on the hilt of the blade, before she returned to her chair. She brushed her long hair out of her face and behind her ears.
Kyrus Lynin - March 27, 2008 07:17 PM (GMT)
Kyrus watched Sava and smiled at her fondly, she was a friend of his. Suddenly he thought of how she was always staying in Inns and he mentally kicked himself for his rudeness. "If you ever need any place to stay Sava, my door is always open. Not very good of me letting my friend stay in Inns is it?" he gave a chuckle and watched her, as her black dress flicked about her and her hair shifted in a slight breeze. Then he thought of himself, no one knew exactly what he was not even himself, he wasn't exactly a high elf for he had wings, nor a man, and obvious not a dwarf. What was he exactly? Nevertheless he smiled as he looked at Sava "So friend?" he asked of her "What have you been doing since I last saw you?"
Kyrus looked at himself again, what in Imythess was happening to him? He had undergone a myriad of changes the most recent and substantial being the growing of a pair of draconic wings which he flapped gently and somehow managed to hid, though perhaps Sava with her sharp eyes would be able to notice them. Looking down at his arms he gave a start of surprise as he saw fine pebbly scaling beginning to appear therre and tried to cover it up. What in the world was going on? He had always been told he was a High Elf, right from birth. But he had begun to doubt this story when at first his vision then his other senses had heightened and he had first felt the growing pains on his back.
Falcas Durrall - March 28, 2008 01:16 PM (GMT)
Falcas Smiled at the newcomer with interest, wondering what this new creature could bring in a friendship. He had not seen one in the lands like him as of yet, yet he was sure there were those more bizarre. He could probably expect to see more strange beings on this trip, if he decided to look into it. He grinned and watched sava go upstairs. When she came back, she was wearing a sheathed blade, which had a promising look about it.
Falcas stared at the sheathed blade with awe. "Nice sword you've got there, Sava." He watched the little dragon around her neck for a moment before looking back to her. He could see the slightest resemblance between the small dragon and the woman, yet the features, which would make most others stand out, somewhat enhanced her features.
He found his gaze drawn back to the sword. Staring for a moment, he decided to see if he could hold it. "May I?" He nodded towards the sword and held out a hesitant hand.
((Bleh, sorry for the post))
Nightwind - March 29, 2008 03:55 AM (GMT)
"If you ever need any place to stay Sava, my door is always open. Not very good of me letting my friend stay in Inns is it?"
She laughed lightly, and smiled. "Perhaps I will stop by then sometime, but I like staying at taverns sometimes, it gives me the good old feeling like I'm on another adventure. But I spend most of my time at my own home, which is around the Memphian Falls." She said, and thought of her palace again, and smiled slightly. She wanted to get home soon, it was always nice to stay and relax for as long as she wanted.
"So friend? What have you been doing since I last saw you?"
She shrugged. "Nothing really. Just trying to get along with the city more, since no one seems to respect me." She said, and gave a slight glance to the bartender, who glared at her. Once again, a thin smile played over her face. She turned her attention back to Kyrus. "What of you, Kyrus? What have you been up too?" She asked.
"Nice sword you've got there, Sava."
She looked at Falcas, and gave a friendly smile. "Thanks. Its called a Lightning blade, its one of my favorite weapons to use." She said, and stroked the hilt of her sword, then she nodded when he asked to hold it basically, and she slowly pulled the sword from the scabbard. The blade had a faint glow to it, and it seemed to crackle. She handed it over to the dwarf.
Kyrus Lynin - March 29, 2008 04:44 AM (GMT)
Kyrus had been busy trying to hide his changes but as Sava spoke a pair of draconian wings popped out from under his cloak where he had been hiding them, his hood slipped to reveal his face having developed fine scaling and he looked at Sava "Me? I have been up to all sorts, I went wandering down in the Mountainous North and paid a visit to the Green Gryphon in Kellen again," he said and flapped his draconian wings, which he had been hiding for fear of being judged but now the were in plain view and Sava would remark on them. He smiled at Falcas and gave the Dwarf a pat on the back "while I was in the Mountainous North I ran into a few of our kin Falcas, friendly folk they are." He then motioned for Sava to speak with him aside for a moment, he did not doubt that she had noticed his changes, it was as if some spell had given way and he motioned to his wings "Sava whats happening to me?" he asked and looked to her "first this wings appear and then my skin starts to develop scales."
Alicia - March 29, 2008 03:15 PM (GMT)
When she woke in the morning, Alicia went outside to look at her bet companions for a couple years. A yellow common riding riding bird but he was not there, even the material for him was gone. "Chocobo...Chocobo?.....CHOCOBO!!!"She was running througth the crowd outside in the streets. Most of them were travelers, since their destinations were far away they had to leave early.
Her heart was pounding. The templar apprentice had to find her mount and friend. She would not be able to make it back to the temple on time if she lost him. Chocobo had been her friend for ten years. She could not think of living without him. Most of them aren't very smart but this one was more then the others. She kept her wing close to her.
There was not a lot of place to find such birds, but she would need help. Where are people traveling, sometimes without knowing where they go. The inn! She had to get there before most of them leave the town. She ran faster, sometimes using her wings to glide over the people and their caravans.
When she finally reached the location that she wanted, Alicia entered panting. Her breathing was burning her longs, she was nervous and she ran like crazy. Looking around she could not try to find anyone to help, she was too shy. Since, she had entered quiet brutly the place, all eyes were on the girl. She smiled while blushing and scratched the back of her hair. Why was this happening to her? How shameful.
She went to the bar and ask for a fruit drink. The bartender give her what she wanted and let her kept her money. It was not like anyone could take money out of her. She had the uniform of the temple of light. The only people she spoke to their was the monks and rarely the priest, she was not so well accepted but since she was half-celestial they gave her a chance. She had mortal traits, so almost one of them.
She took her glass, it was shaking in her small hands. Alicia turned around and looked througth the crowd. There were people in every corners talking. How could she even go there and ask anyone else. She sigh. What a coward. She had not a great view of herself. She only wanted to help others. The templar apprentice would never be the leader type of person. But if something happen, we never know...
Falcas Durrall - March 29, 2008 04:59 PM (GMT)
Falcas took the blade and gazed at it, turning it this way and that, looking at every feature of the finely crafted blade. He took pleasure from the soft glow it eminated, Sure it was much more deadly than it seemed. He admired it's every aspect and handed it back to nightwind.
"You are indeed lucky to own such a blade." He smiled at her. "It is one of the finest i've seen yet." He chuckled at kyrus, who patted his back. He was slightly confused, however when he spoke of their kin. He cocked an eyebrow and looked over the man curiously, somewhat surprised when he revealed his wings. Falcas lowered his eyebrow and admired his wings. He decided to visit more Taverns, as there seemed to be some very interesting people who visited them.
"What do you mean by our kin? You don't look as if you have dwarven blood in you..." He laughed heartily. He looked at the door as a young woman entered, looking a bit stressed. He smiled and waved her over to their little group.
"Come have a drink wit us, lass. Another drinking partner would be great!" He smiled and looked at the bartender, who had decided to ignore them. "I'll have two meads." He smiled pleasantly. Falcas looked back at the girl and asked. "What would you like?"
Alicia - March 29, 2008 05:46 PM (GMT)
Alicia gulped. Someone had invited her to their table? She could not refuse the offer. First, it was a gentle move and second she needed help. She shyly walked at them took a chair and sit beside the kind dwarf. "Thank you." Her face became so red. She was too shy.
She was more used to be alone with her friend. Chocobo, where could he be? Who could have kidnapped him? It was a friend someone close to the templar apprentice so it was not stolen, the Riding bird was a beeing. A friend, her whole family. The temple was only her home. A duty and a reason to live with a routine. She was the messager of the temple but without her friend she was useless on foot. She had wings but she prefered to keep them close to her. As a cloak or sheet ast night when she sleep outside.
She showed her drink to the dwarf to tell him she already had something. She looked at the others and smiled. They all seem so relax and sociable. It was hard not smile. It was the first moment since the disappearance of Chocobo, she was smiling for real. Even though it was only this morning...
Nightwind - March 29, 2008 07:22 PM (GMT)
Sava listened to Kyrus, and smiled slightly. "Sounds like you had fun." She said, then looked at Kyrus more closely, and her eyes grew a curious looked. She looked at the scales, then at the wings. She wondered what was happening to the elf, but right now, she had no clue. She kept watching the elf, then took a sip of her wine when he spoke to her again.
"Sava whats happening to me? first this wings appear and then my skin starts to develop scales."
She set her drink down and looked at Kyrus again. She didn't want anyone else she meets to know she is truly a dragon, well, not at the moment, and Falcas had no idea she was a dragon, and if she spoke to much of dragons, then the dwarf may find out. She slowly shook her head.
"I have no idea. Seems your changing into a dragon. Do you have any draconic blood in you?" She asked. She would just have to act like she just studied dragons. The more people who knew of her race, the more people who would want to hunt her down and try to slay her, and she didn't need that. She looked at Falcas, who handed her the blade back.
"You are indeed lucky to own such a blade. It is one of the finest i've seen yet."
She smiled. It was a good blade, as good as her other magical blades, but she had to admit this was her finest one. Then Falcas invited a girl over. Sava looked at the girl, and gave her a friendly smile. "Hello, dear. My names Sava." She said, and nodded her head in greeting.
Kyrus Lynin - March 29, 2008 10:46 PM (GMT)
Kyrus looked thoughtful as he inched a little closer to Sava, he had known for awhile now that she was a dragon but he kept it a secret "Umm...," he said trying to remember if he did have any draconic blood in him "Yes I believe I do," he said softly for her to hear. A dragon? He was becoming a dragon? This thought caused Kyrus great surprise and he smiled and flapped his wings gently "What would you suggest I do Sava my friend," he asked of her. He had always found Sava highly attractive but didn't speak of it as he thought she might take offence to it, and perhaps the time wasn't right. But he still did find her highly attractive but kept it to himself for now, perhaps one day he would build up the confidence to tell her but not yet. He smiled at her "Sava what am I going to do?" he asked,a hint of worry in his voice. Not because he was turning into a dragon but because of what people in Taras might do.
Caden - March 31, 2008 03:10 AM (GMT)
Caden swept back his golden hair and entered into one of the taverns he spotted in the city of Taras. He had come from overseas, paying his way on a trade ship. He opened the door and ducked inside, the dim lighting a huge contrast to the sun shining outside. He needed a room and one in the city of Taras would make things a lot easier for him.
He was wearing casual clothes and looked much like a sailor on this day. As soon as he entered blue eyes scanned the inn and noticed a group of people gathered around a table. Not many others were in the Tavern in the morning and so he approached the group with a calm ease that was unmatchable. He walked up to the woman, who looked quite stunning.
“Excuse me miss,” He smiled at her, friendly but nothing else. “Would you mind if I join you and your party? It seems that there isn’t much other company around here in the mornings.”
Alicia - March 31, 2008 06:22 AM (GMT)
It seems only the woman was talking to Alicia. Thirl blushed and repied shyly. "H-hi...my name is ...Alicia...."She was happy so far, Sava and the dwarf were the only two to talk to her. Perhaps she could asked them help soon. But she would have to take her courage.
She looked at the man, who was growing dragons wings. She was speechless. hw could that happen? "Is it good or bad? Do we need to heal him or wat?" She was worried a bit for the man, beside beeing cursed or transforming thanks to a spell, there was no other way.
The templar apprentice noticed the sailor looking man, and he had come straigth to them, or most likely The woman called Sava. It's seems she was attracting most of the men. Well, not that it was surprising she had the charm the self confidence. And she was quite good-looking. Another person got her even more nervous and shy that she was already, not letting time to the young girl to get comfortable to do her request.
Kyrus Lynin - April 1, 2008 12:11 AM (GMT)
Kyrus turned to Alicia and taking her hand he kissed it softly in his characteristic gentlemanly greeting "Ah Alicia I apologise, I did not see you there. My name is Kyrus Lynin," he said struggling to keep his wings hidden so that the others would not find out, afraid of how they might judge him. But alas he could not hide his wings and they unfolded from his body, plain for all to see and he blushed "Errm while I guess it is out now," he said slightly shyly "the truth is I am a half-dragon."
Falcas Durrall - April 1, 2008 11:50 PM (GMT)
Falcas smiled and leaned back in his chair, draining his mug of mead. He smiled contentedly before looking down into his glass, a sad glint in his eye. He had run out of coins. He shrugged and reached for his second and last mug. His head was swimming lazily, feeling a bit of dizziness. Perhaps the mead was getting to him. He smiled. Was it his fifth?
As he let the last drop fall onto his tongue, he smiled and slid the mugs to the bartender. Falcas stood and ran his fingers through his beard thoughtfully. He wandered over to the end of the barside, where the food was located. He fished around in his purse and drew forth a dusty coin.
He blew it off and seized a loaf of bread, handing the coin to the bartender. He broke off a chunk and returned to the table, a smile on his face. He stuffed the bread into his mouth greedily, a few crumbs falling into his wiry beard.
Nightwind - April 2, 2008 02:10 AM (GMT)
"Umm..., yes I believe I do. What would you suggest I do Sava my friend,"
Sava looked Kyrus over, and at the wings that poked out, then at the new scales on his skin. She actually had no idea what he should do, she was quite clueless, since she never started to change into a dragon, because she was already one, and everything came natural to her, and she doubted she could help Kyrus with this. She thought over ideas for long moments, but still came up with nothing. She lightly shook her head.
"Sava what am I going to do?"
"I have no idea. I've never dealt with a situation like this." She said, and pulled a black strand of hair behind her ear. She gestured to the bartender to get her another drink as she drained her cup again. Sure, she may sometimes drink a little too much elven wine, but hey, it had no affect on her unless she drank barrels full of wine. The bartender got her the drink, and set it in front of her. She took a long drink of it, when done taking a sit, a voice spoke. She looked up to see a man standing there, that had a sailor like look to him, and he seemed charming, if any man was charming to Sava anymore.
"H-hi...my name is ...Alicia...."
She looked to the girl. "Shy little girl, this one is..." Blackquill sent to Sava.
“Excuse me miss, would you mind if I join you and your party? It seems that there isn’t much other company around here in the mornings.”
She smiled slightly, her friendly smile. Everyone was very lucky she wasn't in her snappy moods today. She gestured to a chair. "Sure" She said, then she noticed the young girl seemed uncomfortable, uneasy. Sava's gaze seemed to soften slightly. "Whats wrong, dear?" She asked calmly, her voice seemed soft.
Sava returned her attention to Kyrus, who started to speak.
"Errm while I guess it is out now, the truth is I am a half-dragon."
"Hmm... odd, I never noticed that when I met you in the ruins." She said, a bit thoughtful. She stroked the hilt of her shimmering magic lightning blade, as her gaze wondered over to the sailor man. "So, whats your name, sir?" She asked. "I'm Sava." She said. Today she was meeting so many new people, it was somewhat nice. She looked to Falcas, who seemed to decide not to speak. She smirked slightly.
Kyrus Lynin - April 2, 2008 07:00 PM (GMT)
Kyrus smiled at everyone "Welcome to you all, I am Kyrus Lynin," he said by way of introduction then looked back to Sava and gave a soft blush, which he wondered if she would notice. His tail curled about his middle, a sign of shyness in any half-dragon and he smiled to Sava. But he had always thought she was attractive and nice but had never wanted to say anything, thinking her too good for him. He fidgeted shyly with a piece of cloth and without noticing he had drawn Sava's name on it with a finger tip, leaving an ashen 'Sava' on the cloth. He blushed as he realised he had drawn it, Sava's sharp eyes would pick it up no doubt, would she be angry? He looked to Sava admiringly and smiled a shy, nervous smile.
Caden - April 2, 2008 07:29 PM (GMT)
Caden thanked the woman for the seat and took his place. He looked at the group, admiring the differences in each person: A dwarf, a half-celestial, a woman, and a half-dragon as he had said. He smiled at each one of them before he ordered a water, unsure if his body would be able to handle alcohol after being on a ship for so long.
He eyed the woman he had spoke to. She was stunning in a dress, and her jet black hair was streaked through with green. Interesting... He took a sip of his water. “I don’t think I introduced myself either,” Caden smiled after Kyrus introduced himself. “The name is Caden,” He turned so he faced them all and gave a small salute. “How about you all? Care to share your names?”
Kyrus Lynin - April 2, 2008 09:28 PM (GMT)
Kyrus eyed Caden suspiciously, he did not like the way he was looking at Sava and whats more he thought she was human. This caused Kyrus to chuckle as he knew that Sava was infact a half-dragon like himself, but was hiding it so as to avoid trouble. Kyrus gave a slight growl, he liked Sava and he didn't want this Caden interefering but he disguised his thoughts by putting a smile on his face and shook Caden's hand, deliberately to show how strong he was "Good to meet you Caden, its nice to see a new face in these parts.
Alicia - April 2, 2008 10:45 PM (GMT)
Alicia was abit stressed, she was not comforatble with people. Not comfortable at all. Too much was happening. Humanoids were so much more complicated then animals. Chocobo....
She lowered her head and quickly rised it up when the balck haired woman ask if there was something wrong. Now the half-celestail girl could finally talk about her problem. She came for that after all, not too chit chat and she certainly not wanted to interrupt this friendly meeting. "Oh, well..." She looked around nervously. "My friend just got kidnapped this morning..." For her the common riging bird was a friend, so it was not an object or a thing like lots of people think of animals. So it was not stolen. "I came here for help first of all..." She was pitch red, as was more then Kyrus. And why was he blushing about?
When the sailor asked about their name the young templar apprentice gulped and talked." I'm Alicia.....Nice to meet you."She then crawled her back to the chair. She was really nervous her stomach was aching now.
Falcas Durrall - April 3, 2008 02:42 AM (GMT)
Falcas watched the group quietly, a grin on his face. He had watched Kyrus' antics, wrapping his tail about himself and writing Sava's name on the cloth. Falcas cocked an eyebrow and slapped the half-dragon on the back, laughing heartily. His dwarven nature was somewhat enhanced by the good amount of mead he had drank this morning. He looked at the bartender.
"And you, lad, need to fetch me another bottle of that potion from earlier." He winked and tore off another piece of bread, mopping up one of his empty mugs with it before cramming it into his mouth hungrily. He was in a good mood, and the bartender knew not to spoil the moods of his rarest customers. The man sighed and called over a waitress, telling her to go fetch another batch. Falcas smiled, pleased, and returned his attention to the group.
It struck him odd that he had not taken the opportunity to introduce himself to the newest girl, despite offering her a drink. He muttered to himself, and bowed respectfully towards her, beard tickling his knees. "I apologise for not doing so earlier, but My name is Falcas Durrall, at your service." He winked and wobbled on the spot.
Deciding it was best for his health to rise and sit, he did so and looked dazed, waiting for either a reply, or the alchohol-nullifying potion. Whichever arrived first.
Nightwind - April 3, 2008 03:14 AM (GMT)
((OOC: Oh, and Kyrus, you said Sava there was a half-dragon, when she is really a full-bred dragon))
She glanced at Kyrus, and noticed he drew her name in a piece of cloth, and then she saw him blush ever so slightly. She looked away, and shifted slightly. She knew that the half-dragon liked her, well, now it seemed quite obvious, and Sava didn't know if she liked that, after all, she has never really bothered herself with men, not after what happened between Fios and her. She closed her eyes lightly, refusing to think of the moon elf knight. She mumbled something under her breath in elvish, but soo quiet so no one could hear. She opened her eyes, and looked at the man who introduced himself as Caden. She smiled.
“How about you all? Care to share your names?”
Sava bowed her head slightly, and kept her smile. As he bowed her head a little, her loose strands of hair fell from behind her ears and into her face, but she blew them out of her eyes. "I'm Savarkael, but everyone calls me Sava." She said. Blackquill, the fly dragon soon looked up from her necklace looking position, and stared at all the people curious about all these new people she and Sava met today. Sava laughed lightly then. "Oh yes, how could I forget. And this is Blackquill, my best friend in this entire world." She said, and smiled, and picked up the small dragon from around her neck, and held it in the palm of her hand, the small dragons beady eyes seemed to watch everyone. Sava set Quill on the table, who took to the air, and flew around. Sava took a drink of wine again, then turned her attention to the little girl.
"Oh, well... My friend just got kidnapped this morning... I came here for help first of all..."
Sava's eyes widened, and sympathy and comfort came to her black and green eyes. She reached over and gripped the young girls shoulder in a comforting way. "That is terrible. I will help you find your friend." Sava said, her voice sincere. Sava loved helping others, well, sometimes, matters if she's in a good mood, like today. She looked at Falcas who decided to introduce himself, and she grinned slightly. The dwarf was good company, she believes anyway, always seeming cheerful.
Caden - April 3, 2008 03:32 AM (GMT)
Caden gripped Kyrus’ hand and shook vigorously, a smile playing on his lips as the man’s grip got tighter. He let out a laugh and released the man’s hand. He then turned to the young woman who introduced herself as Alicia. He flashed her an easy smile and tilted his head in her direction.
“No need to be shy.” The girl looked troubled for some reason. He had caught a brief conversation of a kidnapping. “I’ll help ya out whatever way I can,” He reassured her. Then the lady he sat next to introduced herself.
Savarkael
He repeated the name in his head. Quite lovely actually, although not one that rolled off the tongue very easily. Sava suited her much better he thought. But such an odd name for a woman who appeared very human. She must have had some other race in her background. Thus the odd hair that fell into her eyes. Caden reached up and brushed her raven locks behind her ear. He picked a small strand of green between his fingers before he moved that behind her ear as well. He then dropped his hand.
“What odd hair.” He said it as a casual observation not wanting to offend the woman. She would expand if she wanted too and if not that was fine too. He turned back to the group and focused on Alicia again, hoping she would expand on her troubles.
Kyrus Lynin - April 3, 2008 07:34 PM (GMT)
((Nightwind- My apologies, that is even better :) ))
Kyrus watched Sava, he knew of the one called Fios and guessed that he had done something to upset Sava, but he would not do that, he cared for her greatly. So Sava knew he liked her now, that was good, things would sooner or later be brought to a front between them, some decision would have to be made. Kyrus did in fact like Sava greatly but he realised that now was not the time, perhaps later he would be able to get some time with Sava. But for now he would stand at her side, having unofficially declared himself as her helper, he got up and did infact stand at Sava's side "I too shall help you find your friend Sava," he said warmly and smiled to her. Although he was a half-dragon at the moment Kyrus was quickly changing, becoming a full dragon. He shifted slightly shyly at Sava's side and a light blush rose on his cheeks Not now he thought we have to concentrate on finding Alicia's friend. I can talk to Sava later, some other time.
Alicia - April 4, 2008 06:16 AM (GMT)
She kept smiling at Caden and Falcas. Those were nice people. "No there is no need to excuse yourself..."She lowly said to the dwarf slightly drunk from the view she had then she looked at the sailor looking man, she had to raise her voice, making her even shyer. "Can't...be help...I guess." She was lacking selfconfidence.
Then when Sava told that she would gladly help, Alicia got really excited, her shyness faded for a short time. "Really? Oh, thanks a lot!" She went to the dragon on human form and hugged her. "This is great!" Then as soon as The half dragon offer his help also, the half-celestial hugged him too.
Few seconds of silence brougth back her shyness. She let go of the half-dragon and blushed of a bright red color. "Oh, i'm...sorry. Got carried...by the emotions..."It was normal after all. They were about to go find for Chocobo. Soon, my dear friend...Soon, we shall be back together again. I promise!
Falcas Durrall - April 4, 2008 02:55 PM (GMT)
Falcas smiled and looked around the tavern, starting to need the mind-clearing potion. He shrugged and laughed about his present company. A strange lot they were, a sailor, What appeared to be a noble, a half-dragon approaching dragon, a shy girl whom he could not find any hint as to her job, and himself. He smiled warmly, finishing off his bread. He fished around his pockets and shrugged, not finding anything at all. "Oh well, it's probably a sign." He laughed.
The waitress came along with a vial with greenish contents. He took it and eyed it warily. This barkeep was known to him for playing tricks with him. Falcas sloshed the contents around suspiciously, looking back at the man. "For your own good, this had best be what you say it is." The barkeep smiled innocently. "Do you call me a liar, good sir dwarf?" He said, feigning hurt. Falcas popped the lid and smelled the potion.
"No, i'm calling you a royal arse." Falcas said without any restraint. He tasted it with the tip of his tongue and spat into a corner. "Well, if it's not what you say it is, it'll surely take my mind off the alchohol." He said disgustedly. Shrugging, he drank the stuff and slapped a hand down on the counter. Looking a bit worse for wear for a moment, he looked at the barkeep in disbelief.
"That burnt. I'm about ready to crack you over the head with my morning star, eh?" He threatened, not noticing his speech becoming clearer. He hopped off the barstool and stood proudly, hand on the handle of his weapon. "Anybody here like this barkeep enough to protect him from a good thrashin?" He looked around suspiciously. Apparently his thoughts weren't as clear as they usually were. That, or he just felt overconfident.
He was saddened a bit by the lack of challengers, and sat back down. Looking at his present company, he smiled. "I might be off. Got an adventure to look into." He winked and stood once more.
