Title: Trouble with Guards
Description: [Open!]
Nightwind - February 3, 2008 05:22 AM (GMT)
Sava ran along the streets and alleys in her human form. She had been running for while, but she had the strength of dragons on her side. What dragon didn't. She would be in dragon form, but she entered the city human, and suddenly got chased by guards, lets say, she wasn't very welcomed into this city. So, she hasn't gotten a chance to change, its always hard with guards on your tail, but she knew this city well, and had a bet with herself, that she would lose them soon, then she could hopefully get on with her business here, which was really nothing except to enjoy herself, and hope her mothers spies doesn't find her, she didn't need a black dragon coming after her after guards, that would just tick the short tempered dragon off.
She heard the clatter of the guards still behind her, and she heard them get closer, which made her curse to herself. She ran into a very shadowed alley, and since it was nighttime, the perfect place to hide, especially for a shadow dancer. She jumped into the shadows and pressed herself against the cold brick wall behind her, and then, she was suddenly hidden in the shadows, no one, would be able to see her. She stayed silent, and was as rigid as a statue, even as the guards came clattering down the alley. Their swords were out, and the silver shined with the reflection of the moon. They reached the mouth of the alley, and ran out into it, but when they saw no sign of the running woman, they grew a little confused, for the street the alley led out to, was a long one, leading to the left and right, with absolutely no alleys there, so, they would have been able to see her run somewhere, and now, she cursed herself for that foolishness. She wanted them to go one of those ways, so she could go back the way she came, all would be easy from then on, but the guards were makeing it too complicated for her.
She waited silently, waiting for the guards to make their decision. They started arguing amongst themselves for a while, before they split up. Three went to the left, and three to the right, while the other three, went back the way they came. She waited till the clattering noises of the guards were gone, before she slipped out of the shadows, and went out of the alley, and down the other street the way she had come. She went silently, and cautious, often glancing behind her back.
When she believed she was safe, and after walking a bit, she stood up straight, and brushed the dust off her tunic, and straightened her black midnight colored cloak, then ran her hand a couple times through her black and green hair. When she believed she didn't look as bad as she had been since the guards chased her, she started striding down the street, while slipping the hood on her head, and wrapped the cloak about her. One hand held onto the blade of lightning lightly, while the other hung at her side, but it was near her other blade, the blade of air.
She wandered the streets a while, till she came to a noisy one, the street that has the Song of Elves Tavern & Inn on it. She headed straight for the tavern, and upon reaching the doorway, she slipped through, and gagged a little at the smell of alchohol and other smell, but she got used to it soon, and then smiled. She headed for a corner, where no one sat, for all wanted to be included with the games that went about. The tavern was full of merriment, and she liked it. There was a bard playing on the small stage, some people even danced to the bards music. There were drunks, who drank more, and others who played gambling games. She didn't want to participate in anything, all she wanted was to enjoy herself, and drink some fine elven wine, even if drinking elf wine made her remember Fios.
She made itto a empty table, and sat down, then waved for a maid, and then she ordered the elven wine, which was brought to her shortly after. She stared into the crimson liqeud, before taking a big gulp from it. She sat it down, and her gaze then wandered about the crowds. Then, the door opened, and three guards came in scanning the crowds, looking for her, but she pulled the hood over her face more, and leaned back in her chair, to most, she would look like a mercernary, as that was how she seemed to dress like, wearing traveling clothes, and then leather armor over that, and a black cloak, with weapons. Though, she did think she looked suspicious, but mainly mysterious. She kept her gaze wandering the crowds, making it seem like she was looking for an employer, but no one could really see her face, her eyes were dark and barely visible, but it kept most of the suspicion away.
Eliel - February 3, 2008 05:59 AM (GMT)
Eliel strolled down the street, admiring the soft light created by the moon. He looked around the general area, not staring at the objects themselves, but the general scene. The light seemed to pulse with light, clouds seeming to give the moonlight a heartbeat of it's own. He could hear the sounds of the night, owls hooting, mice scurrying along the paths. it was stangely deserted here, not even the usual guard half-asleep at watch.
His main admiration sat with his lovely familiar, companion more like it. She kept him company on lonely nights and kept close to him, except for the rarest of occasions. Gwen padded softly next to him, purr adding to the gentle noises.
He stopped as his feline friend paused, ears perked. Evidently, she heard something he did not. His eyes picked up on the surroundings, heat becoming more visible. the moonlight faded as more vibrant colors invaded the night. The torches gave off a different light, enhancing the detail and color of the buildings next to them.
Then he heard it, a clattering of metal on stone. Voices echoed down the road. the invading noise came from his right, from the alleyways. Giving a glance, he saw a dark form rush by them, too far for him to see who it was. He walked down the alley, looking towards the way the person had gone. He turned his head as guards stormed down the alley.
"You there, where did it go?" Eliel gave them a confused look. Deciding that it was probably in his best interests not to be a complete arse to the guards at this time of night, he pointed down the alley. Looking down himself, he couldn't see the form.
He Smiled to himself as he watched the guards storm down the alleyway. He looked around curiously for the person he saw before he was reminded that he had not eaten by a deep growl in his belly. Gwen perked her ears and Eliel laughed. "Looks like we've forgotten dinner." He sighed and scanned the area quickly, before settling with a Tavern in the distance. He looked around once more before heading into the tavern.
He looked around quickly before plopping down in a corner seat, gwen laying under the table, out of sight. He seized the wrist of the barmaid, a nice elven girl, and gave her his order. "I'll ave an ale, if you would." the girl looked shocked for a moment, then apparently decided to think nothing of it.
While he waited, he crossed his fingers and gazed around the room, scanning his fellow patrons. his gaze rested on one, who seemed familiar to him. His suspicion was backed by the guards walking in. She pulled her hood over her head more securely. Shadows mattered not to Eliel, a half-drow. Inherent vision assisted this. He thought he recognised her, but he could not be sure.

*From the shore*
Alice walked down the street, she was dressed in a cloak with a hood to hide her face, but one could see parts of her green dress and some curls from her green hair under the dark fabric. She was not looking up, she was more looking around to see if she was followed. She placed her hand on the wand in her belt, but then she shook her head, it was nothing there, nothing at all. She looked up to see if she could see the star, but it was gone...why was that? Well she would have to think about it laer
After a while she walked past the tavern and she remembered that she was hungry. We are above that, no need to eat, we not like them, they are weak, bound by the realm of there own mind the whispering voice said. "But we have to eat, or we will not live long. " she said with a normal voice. People was looking at her as they walked past, but most of the ignored her, crazy people was nothing they liked very much.
Alice hesitated for a moment, then she began to walk into the tavern, she looked around when she was inside, her eyes scanned the room she did not like to be paranoid, and not to be around to many people, but she had not been eating for a very long time.
She walked further inside. Her hand was on the wand if something would happen, she was ready....but there was nothing what she could see, or was it really nothing? She was still holding her hand on the wand.
After a while a Barmaid came to her. "Excuse me, but is there something I can help you with?" she asked with a friendly voice. Alice looked at her and the girl was lucky she could not she the sorceress eyes, since she was glaring at her. "Yes I would like something to eat" she said with her normal elven voice. She used much of her willpower to try and keep the other voice silent for a while, this was no place for a person to talk with two voices. The barmaid nodded. "Then have a seat and I will be with you in a moment miss"
Alice took a deep breath, then she looked around again, it was so many people, what should she do? People is no problem to us the whispering voice suddenly said, but not for anyone to hear, it just sounded inside of the head of Alice. Let just kill someone and take there seat? That would be nice would it not? The young woman took another deep breath. "Are we crazy or something? We can`t run around killing people in here, the they will see us and kill us, no doubt about that one"
The whispering voice laughed and some people was now looking at her,...not they where starring at her. Those that could sense anything with magic or so could sense that this was not just one being, it was something inside of the womans body, deep inside of her mind, nearly out of reach.
Alice looked in her pocket to see how much money she had, it was not very much but it would have to do, she did not have money for a room so she would have to find another place to sleep at.
Nightwind - February 3, 2008 06:24 PM (GMT)
She took another sip of her wine, before her gaze wandered the crowds again, this time, noticing someone new in the crowds, someone the dragon remembered. She saw his gaze on her, and she looked at him, her cold gaze hardened, even if he was very familiar. She got bored trying to figure out who it was, and turned her gaze to watch the guards a moment, and her eyes flashed with annoyance as they started coming towards her. She didn't need them to come over and ask if she noticed a renegade came in here, it would ruin her plans of enjoying the evening in the city. She started thinking of ways to get them out, without noticing it was her doing.
She continued to watch them, as they approached closer, shoving their way through the drunk men. She looked away, and down into her drink, and muttered a strange spidery word under her breath, and made a little motion under the table where no one could see, then she made her magic go into the guards. Their eyes went wide with fear, and they looked around the room. They stopped and shifting uneasily. She had casted the spell cause fear, and made it go only to the guards, as she didn't need the whole tavern in fear. The guards stared at her, and she looked up at them, and grinned evilly, and her eyes glinted in a way that almost dared them to come near. She could just change into her dragon form, and eat them whole, and thats what she hoped they started to fear.
The guards started to turn around, and muttered to each other, and now they knew who they were looking for, but they didn't want to go near the dragon woman, finally, they agreed on something, and they left the tavern as quickly as possible. The woman smiled cruelly. She knew that they would return, most likely with reinforcements, but she had a while for that, they would most likely take a while to gather the men around and try to trap her, but she wouldn't bother herself with what will possibly come.
She took another drink, then looked up at the man who had seemed familiar from before, then she turned her gaze to a young woman about the crowds, and wondered who she was, Sava had never seen the girl before, but that didn't bother her, it was the way the girl seemed, and she instantly didn't trust her.
She looked away and at the door, thinking it safe for a while, she slipped the hood of her cloak off her head, her green and black hair visible, and her eyes even more. She cracked her knuckles, before resting them on her lap, and wondering where Blackquill may be.
DornKoon - February 3, 2008 06:41 PM (GMT)
Again Alice became nervous when the guards came into the tavern, but she sighed when they left, she had to find a table, because it would look odd if one person was just standing in the middle of the room forever. She slowly began to walk further into the room in search for a good table. She noticed that there was one empty table, but it was not i corner, it was in the middle of the room...great, right in the middle of everything, the perfect place for us she said, then she sat down, she began to tap her finger towards the surface of the wooden table. Her eyes quickly moved around the room in search for something, then she calmed down, the barmaid came to her again after a while. "So miss, what can I get for you?" she asked. Alice thought for a moment. "give me todays special, and a bottle of vine"
the woman nodded, "right away miss", she wrote the order and then she walked away.
The barmaid returned again after a while and had a plate with some meat stew with potatoes, she also had a bottle with a red liquid and a glass. "There you go miss" she said, "That will be 20 for the stew and 7 for the wine" Alice picked up the money and gave it to the Barmaid, the girl smiled. "have a nice day" she said before she walked away, Alice quickly began to eat of the stew, it was delicious.
Alice was listening to the people around her while she was eating, one could never know if something useful would appear. But it was much people in the tavern and it was hard to hear anything at all.
"Are you sure about that?" she heard a man say not far from her table. "Yes of course I am sure silly" anather voice said. "I tell you that it is real, and I have it right here, a map to some secret place somewhere in the desert. It could be treasures there, who knows. It is a strange and mysterius place" Alice raised an eyebrow....was this a sign? She calmly moved her chair closer to the mens table to hear them better, but she made sure that they would not see that she was listening.
Eliel - February 5, 2008 12:49 AM (GMT)
Eliel leaned back in his chair and smiled. The woman he had been watching was indeed a friend. he had first met her not so long ago, in an old, abandoned temple of some sort. they had found a hidden tunnel beneath it as well as some... disturbing discoveries. The thought made a shiver run up his spine.
Eliel dropped his hood and nudged gwen with his foot, telling her to stay. He accepted the ale from the barmaid with a smile, and waited for her to go out of sight before standing. He walked the length of the tavern and placed the mug of amber-liquid onto the table sava sat at before taking a seat himself.
"It's been some time, has it not, Sava?" he chuckled to himself. "That was quite a display there. I take it you are not welcome by the guards for your... rare heritage?" he smiled and took a sip of ale, all the while keeping an eye on Gwen, who kept an eye on Sava in turn.
DornKoon - February 5, 2008 09:20 AM (GMT)
One of the men Alice was listening to picked up something from inside of his tunic, it was a piece of paper. "Here it is" he said with a low voice. Alice tried to see better, then she sighed. It was surly a fake map, just some criminal trying to sell a fake map to some stupid adventurer, very common. The sorceress returned to her meal, she took a sip of her wine and returned to watch the people around here. She made sure not to show her face, beacuse of her strange eyes. Not many people had white eyes with green sparks moving around inside of them.
She calmly removed some hair from her eyes. "Are we just going to sit here all day?" the voice said, "What else should we do then?" She said to herself. "We could teach that man with the map a lesson he will never forget, then we could kill him?"
Alice smiled. "Yes letīs make him.......pay back" she said with a hissing low voice, she smiled wickedly. "We just need to wait for him to be....alone...then he will be our."
She giggled to herself and took anather sip from her wine.
Nightwind - February 5, 2008 11:34 PM (GMT)
Her dark eyes wandered around the room once more, just another check to make sure Sheva's spies aren't here, but after confirming they weren't again, she turned her gaze unto the the elf who had been watching her. She ignored all else's stares, as they had also seen what had happened, but none got up to force her to leave or anything, they must be afraid of her also because of that. She watched as the man got up, after taking the ale, and then watched as he strode over, and right then, she remembered who it was.
"Eliel." She mumbled to herself, a smile on her face.
"It's been some time, has it not, Sava?"
"So it seems. But now when I think about it, it feels as if we had met in the cathedral just yesterday." She said, and that was how she sort of felt now. She watched him closely a moment, and for the first time, sensed his evil alignment. Ever since she got the magic tattoo, she had been always able to sense ones alignment. But she didn't mind it, she had a few friends that had the evil alignment.
"That was quite a display there. I take it you are not welcome by the guards for your... rare heritage?"
She shrugged lightly. "Yes. The guards do not welcome me because of my draconic breed. But I could give a damn about what they think of me. I merely do what I can to keep them away, to stay in this place a while. But I constantly seem to get myself in trouble to lose any trust they may have had for me that I managed to gain. Not my fault dragon slayer come after me even in this place."She said, saying the last part mainly to herself. Those near had heard her speak, and gave her nervous glances, hearing that she was a dragon, and she even noticed the bartender gave her a hateful glare. Sava merely grinned wide. It was the same one who had been here when she tore down the tavern to escape with her friend Shain. That had been an entertaining time.
She looked at Eliel. "How have you been since we last met?" She asked, as her gaze strayed to a pair of men talking, and a girl who seemed to be listening in, but she didn't care much. She took a sip from her wine.
Eliel - February 6, 2008 12:06 AM (GMT)
'So it seems. But now, when i think about it, it feels as if we had met in the cathedral only yesterday.' Sava replied.
Eliel took another sip and watched two mice play on a beam above their heads, reflecting on the time that's gone past. A smile wound it's way across his face as he seemed lost in his reflections. The tavern was full of hushed voices and whispers, based around Eliel and his company.
"It seems so long ago still yet, as i've done much since our parting. I think the roads have helped me. I have lived for almost three centuries now, and up until that point, it seems so dull. A wasted life. So here, in my later years, i've much to live for." He laughed to himself.
"I must sound rediculous. Such unfitting words for me. Maybe i've matured at last." His smile widened. He was once a cruel, hard man, made so by racial prejudices, and outcast by both races for his being a half-breed. Never would he have thought about making friends, or even companions.
The thought reminded him of the panther waiting in the corner. He gave a sharp whistle, much to the surprise of several patrons, and waited. Gwen slinked under tables, nipping playfully at the toes of a few drunkards. She sat calmly beside Eliel, who reached a hand over and gave her a good scratch on the head.
"This is Gwen, A friend of mine whom i met not too long after our parting." He smiled as he realised what an impact she had made on his life, giving him a companion on his travels.
"So how have you been?" He asked Sava, all four feet of the chair setting back down, mouth hidden by the mug of ale once more.
DornKoon - February 6, 2008 09:46 AM (GMT)
Alice examined the room with her eyes she noticed that a stranger was looking at her for a moment, she looked back at the stranger, and Sava could briefly she the glowing sparks inside of the moon elfs eyes as they made eyecontact for a moment. It looked like green flames was moving around in her eyes, a living flame with itīs own life. Sava could also see some parts of the womans green hair, but not much more because of her hood. That one is lookingat us, could be someone that is after us. Should we make it.....insane? The voice said lowly to her, Alice thought for a moment, better to keep an eye on that one just to be on the safe side, because it was something about her.... something she could not see or sense....but it was something. Alice noticed that she was a little intrested to find out more about this new stranger that had made eyecontact with her.
Nightwind - February 13, 2008 08:30 PM (GMT)
She listened to Eliel's words, and smiled. She didn't think they fit him, but she didn't mind, when he spoke again, she laughed lightly. "Well, I sure hope you have. Living for three centuries and acting immaturely?" She said, grinning, then laughed slightly. Then thought a moment, and for once, realized how young she still was, and she still young even in dragon years. She looked away, thinking about that, then smiled. "Sort of odd... I've never thought about age and such till you brought up being nearly three centuries old. Your two hundred years older then me. It makes me feel so young." She said, and laughed.
Even if she was young, she was still great at many things. She understood a lot of things, and she learned many, many things in only a hundred and twenty-one years. She smiled. She had hundreds of more years ahead of her, so that gave her a chance to learn so much more.
She brought herself out of thoughts, and turned her gaze to the black panther that came over. friendly cat, she thought. She listened to the elf speak again, and nodded slightly. "She seems like a good familiar. Though, oddly reminds me of Arch." She said, and laughed, thinking of the four black cats she had at her home. "Arch is a black cat I have at home." She explained, so he wouldn't be confused or anything.
"So how have you been?"
She thought a moment, before answering the question. "I've been well. Many new things have been happening to me. Recently, I've joined a group who are questing to the Gwilikith Mountains, looking for treasure and others things. I decided to go. One who is still young needs more things to do, then just always meet up with old friends." She said, smiling friendly.
Sava's eyes met those of the strange girl she noticed earlier. She watched the girl, seeing the strange eyes, and then saw the green hair, though, only a little. The dragon woman mainly stared at the eyes. Sava was curious about the girl, and wondered who she was. She soon, looked away, though, couldn't stop the feeling of wanting to figure out who it was. She sat where she was, wondering about that girl.
Eliel - February 14, 2008 03:16 AM (GMT)
Eliel laughed at her comment on ages. "Nice to know i'm three times your age. Always helps to know you're older than a dragon." he said jokingly, feeling older. "But really, i don't think anything of it. Don't worry about my age, i'll keep on living until i die, won't i?" He said thoughtfully.
"She seems like a good familiar. Though, oddly reminds me of Arch. Arch is a black cat i have at home."
Eliel grinned. "She truly is a beauty. Saved my neck more times than i can count, as well. She's worn her way into my heart." He scratched her head lovingly. It was true, the cat had saved him from goblins, to enemies, to bad relationships. She seemed to be truly jealous of any female she thought to be getting to close to him.
"I've been well. Many new things have been happening to me. Recently, I've joined a group who are questing to the Gwilikith Mountains, looking for treasure and others things. I decided to go. One who is still young needs more things to do, then just always meet up with old friends"
Eliel smiled at her choice of words. "Old friends? Are you calling me old, Dragon?" He laughed openly. No man in his right mind would laugh at a dragon, being a very proud and dangerous race. But Eliel knew this one wouldn't harm him. A friendly past and a healthy respect for the Dragoness fortified his beliefs.
"But really, i'm happy for you. I may need to go on such an adventure myself. Could be fun." He smiled at the thought. "Maybe you'll see a few dwarves on the way." He laughed again. "Haven't seen one of them around for some time." He drained his mug and ordered another. The ale had little effect on him, but he heard this particular place's mead had some kick.
"I have been sitting about too much. too much speaking and making new aqquaintances. Not enough hunting about and questing." He laughed and racked his brains for some similar activity. "Do you know of any such opportunity for adventure?"
DornKoon - February 14, 2008 05:30 PM (GMT)
Alice that was more intrested to find out more about this strange girl made sure that she could keep an eye on them and hear them to, but that they would not notice that she was looking at them....or trying to hear them. She calmly took a sip from her vine as she watched the crowd but she did not really see them...it was just an act.
"Why are we doing this? A waste of time, better things to do we have now." the voice said in her head, Alice took anather sip from the vine.
"Simply because we need more power if we are to finish what we are working to get" she replied in her mind. "and we think that girl could be of help to us. Oh yes she will....but we canīt be sure about that of course, but it will do no harm to us." Alice smiled to herself and drank out the last of her vine.
She glanced over to the table with the two strangers again. She heard what Eliel said about the dragon age.
"Hmmmmm so then that girl has to be....or just....well no problem then, on the opposite, this will be perfect" she thought to herself. "More then perfect" she giggled a little to herself.
