As the rain fell the aroma of moss, sewage and death was so strong most people were probably staying miles away from the swamps, but it was a familiar smell for the large black dragon that crept through the marsh. Munwithurix took in everything, after being away from home so long she terribly missed, the swamp was where she grew up and it is where she has always lived.

After being away so long vermin have started taking over, nothing to fear for Munwithurix was gone, but were they going to be surprised. There was nothing more that made Munwithurix so upset, so angry, was vermin living in her home and her marsh, soon enough they will receive their punishment for invading her sanctuary.

It was the middle of winter, the warmth of the day was unusual and the rain was making everything wet and muddy, perfect for Munwithurix, miserable for travelers. Stalking onto the main trail that led to Balefire, she watched and listened for anyone coming, it would make the day complete; food.

After sitting on the trail for a few hours she decided to give up, nothing was coming, which she was going to have to find some kind of other food...which meant rodents, they were one of the most vilest things to eat; small, bony, dirty and hardly enough meat on their bones to feed a human.

It was going to be a long day indeed unless someone happened to come along, it would be wonderful if they even put up a fight before she consumed them...most unlikely, the weather was going to stop anyone from traveling from Kellen to Balefire. Munwithurix knew wishful thinking never got you anywhere but she did it anyways, hoping for food to present itself...but then again, it has been a long time since she talked with anyone, being gone so long she didn't know what was happening in this land, maybe she would need to talk to her food before eating it.

Before getting up and going to find rats she decided waiting a few more hours on the trail, maybe someone will come, maybe not, Munwithurix could wait a very long time for someone, she wasn't that hungry yet which meant she could live for a few more days for food.
