Avarice - January 16, 2008 09:28 PM (GMT)
Alcohol, it was the method of corruption and the cause of chaos, but to him it was nothing shy of the glory of forgetting everything. To live aloof in a world that took upon such seriousness that it constantly gave him a headache every time he thought about it. But it was until now that he realized what that aloofness had got him into, as a rather large crowd of people seemed to gather around him and a single man stood in front of him, club in hand. Faltering to a dead halt in his footsteps, a lone hand would lift behind his head, scratching it for a moment before speaking, “Oi, teh heel is dat cloob for?” With slurred speech, he would lightly sway in his stance while the man attempted to decipher his babblings.

The man lifted a brow and then shook his head, “It’s to beat some sense into you, you drunk idiot. No one pulls a fast one over me and gets away with it.” To make sure that Avarice acknowledged his threat, he would smack the club solidly into the palm of his other hand a few times, before lowering it off to his side, “What do you have to say for yourself…?”

Avarice tilted his head to the side, not even paying attention to the man’s threats. After all, it really wasn’t all that important to him, talk was cheap and threats were cheaper. Stifling a hiccup, his eyes would drift from the man and around to the people encircled around them. Were they trying to keep him from escaping or were they going to jump in at the first sign of trouble? Not that it really mattered any…It wasn’t as though he stood much a chance as it was in the state he was at, “I sayyy….Kiiissssss my rump.” And that would be all it took to get the man agitated enough to start off this confrontation. Still swaying in his stance, his eyes watched diligently as the man approached, and aimed to swing his club up towards the side of his head. Instinctively, his head tilted off to the side and at that instant his body would lean off in the same direction so the club would pass effortlessly over his ear. The second it would though, his body would re-straighten itself and his head would throw itself forward and send itself colliding with the mans to knock him flat and onto his back. Rocking back, his hand would rise to his forehead to rub it nursingly, “Oi, your head is like a freaking rock! I regret doing that now…” Just as the final word escaped his lips, the man arose again to go another round.

Heaving an annoyed sigh, he would shake his head, “Why can’t you make this easy and just stay down? All you guys feel you got to inflate something you don’t have by picking fights and the likes. Truly, it gets quite annoying, but whatever…Not like you’ll listen right?” Offering a slight shrug, the man once again rushed at him through anger, which was his first mistake. Carefully his feet would gracefully side step the man and a single hand would come out to slap the back of the man and thrust him further in his momentum, only to send him scuttling into one of the many men that circled them. That would be his cue and with that he would take off in a sudden thrust of speed between the separation of men and over the two fallen men. At that exact instant, all of them had begun to give chase after him only to be blown away after a short pursuit. As he wound his way around a corner, his hands would jolt up to one of the flag staffs that dangled over one of the doorways. Catching it with his hands, he would use the momentum he carried to swing him up to a full hand stand on the flag staff and would keep that position until the men continued past. Once the coast was clear, he would swing down and drop from the staff and land with a soft patter of feet. With a smug grin, he had begun dusting himself off, before sauntering out from the alleyway. Drunkenness was only an illusive state he often played on those dumb enough to fall for it, for it was quite rare that he actually got drunk enough to slur and stumble. So far it had been quite the effective tactic…Though, that would be sure to change within time. Breaking from his thoughts for a moment, his eyes drifted across his surroundings, feeling a slight unease settle over him for a moment.
