Title: Taking a Break
Description: [p] Shadeen!
Zehavya - January 11, 2008 02:58 AM (GMT)
The demon-hunter left civilization for some peace. Hunting demons took a bit out of her, so, she decided to travel into the mountains, and she even stayed in the Deep Cities for a month, but while she was, she got rid of some of the tieflings that were there, and some demonic things that had been causing a bit of trouble. She was happy to help, but she was tired to fight a demon every night, she needed rest, even though, she knew it wasn't really in her class to take a break. Demons were everywhere, and it was her job to eliminate them, same as others in her class. Now though, she managed to slip away from her job for a little while, and luckily, there was no Fehade to hunt her out, to anger her.
She wandered up the mountain, to a ledge, where there was a cave visible. She wore her simple clothing, that you could say was a dress (The outfit in a pic in her description). She had her two axes, Wish and Cure, they were like a X on her back. She liked these two axes, they were easy to handle, and quite deadly.
When he reached the ledge, she walked into the cave mouth, and stopped. Here, she withdrew a lantern from a pack she carried, and said a silent command word, and then, the ghost man came out, and took hold of the lantern, then Zehavya motioned the man to go into the cave, he did. She went in behind him. As she went, she felt it get warmer. She had always wanted to see the inside of a volcano, even though, she knwe it was be terribly hot, but still, she was taking a break from her demon killing spree, and wanted to see some things about, like the volcano.
Zehavya continued down the long, narrow cave, keeping a look out for anything strange. Even if she was taking a break, she was still alert for anything demonic, but as she went, she noticed nothing evil.

Sweat beads ran down Shadeen’s forehead and neck. She didn’t know how long she had been in this cave but a brief touch to the bladder at her side would indicate that she still had enough water to last the rest of the day if she so chose to stay here that long. She doubted that it would come to that though. She had been training down here for awhile now, she was told it was better to train in the heat, although she didn’t understand why. When she was pointed towards the volcano her heart jumped in excitement. She had trekked her way up, but that had been a few hours ago, now she was inside the cave, although her constant movement made it hard for her to tell just how deep she was.
A screech echoed through the cave, rebounding off the walls and into infinity. Shadeen’s blade was held at a downwards angle and she placed one booted foot onto the creature her blade had penetrated. She pushed with her foot and pulled up with her blade until the creature came loose with a sloshing sound. It wasn’t like anything she had ever seen before today. The creature’s seemed to live in the cave. Their bodies resembled those of a human, except their skin was black and leathery, as though it had been burned. They were also very slow creatures, hobbling along as though blind. In truth Shadeen thought they were. It gave her excellent practice for wielding a blade, and after their first attack she knew they weren’t ‘good’ in any way. The strangest thing about them was their green blood. She’d never seen anything like it before; in fact she avoided stepping in it or getting it on her whenever she could. It unsettled her although she wasn’t sure why.
Shadeen had her jade eyes fixed on the creature lying on the floor. It looked so unnatural. She was so absorbed by this that when a light started moving towards her she instantly shot into a defensive stance. She wasn’t even sure if the light was coming from deeper inside the cave or from the entrance. Although she didn’t know it at the time the appearance of the two probably saved her from wandering the caves for days, weeks, even months, depending on the length of them. When a man rounded a corner carrying a lantern Shadeen had a feeling she. . .knew him. The man seemed insubstantial, almost like a ghost.
The ghost in the lantern.
Zehavya!
Shadeen’s heart lifted at the thought of the easily irritated woman, and she laughed a little before she called out her name. She remembered when they had met last time, and they had a run in with Fehade. Shadeen shuddered at the memory and hoped that this time it wouldn’t become so. . .heated? She also hoped that no one. . .odd showed up this time either. Shadeen could almost laugh, which put the other thoughts out of her mind. She had someone to explore with again, and she was getting so much better with her weapon now.
“Zehavya!”
Zehavya - January 16, 2008 06:01 PM (GMT)
Zehavya continued going, feeling it get warmer a little. She didn't mind the little creatures that sometimes hobbled by. If she hadn't been on her break, she would have been stressed out, and would kill any that came her way, but she was a bit calmer now, but every now and then, there was a time when her insane side made her feel like she wanted to kill them, and anything else. Suddenly, there was a screech that went through the cavern. She stood still, her hand twitched slightly, ready to unhook on of her axes if need be. She waited, and the ghost man even stopped, waiting patiently. He had no idea what his surroundings were, no idea what was going on, and not even knowing who summoned him from the lantern. He was clueless on everything, he herd nothing, saw nothing, only went moving whenever the one who summoned uses the magic to move him.
Zehavya waited a few more seconds, before going on, and made the lantern ghost to start moving again, and she followed in step behind him again. She kicked a loose rock on the caves floor, and it clattered ahead a little. She felt no need to be cautious, she never really was, unless she was hunting.
She stopped again, then turned to face the wall of the cave on her left side. She lifted a hand, and touched the rough wall, thinking a moment.
“Zehavya!”
Zehavya turned around quickly, and was about to unhook a ax again, but noticed it was only Shadeen, who the hunter had met in the ruins. She smiled slightly. The ruins weren't the happiest of memories, as Fehade had been there, and a weirdo elf that the aasimar despised, and she supposed, wanted dead. Though, the main reason was, because Fehade had shot her with his favorite spell, enervation. Her hand clenched into a fist at the thought, and then decided she'd beat Fehade up a bit, next time she saw him.
"Hello, Shadeen... I am very surprised to see you here." Zehavya said, smirking slightly.
Shadeen - January 26, 2008 03:20 AM (GMT)
Shadeen smiled at Zehavya. She loved the hunter’s strong personality and quick wit. In a way Shadeen admired her. They had only met once before, at the ruins, and that had turn out... a little odd. Shadeen didn’t like to remember Fehade, he made her skin crawl in distaste. The relationship between Zehavya and Fehade was confusing but Shadeen wasn’t going to push Zehavya into an explanation, and in truth she didn’t really want to know.
She noticed the man in the lantern as well. He always made Shadeen a little curious. She felt bad for the poor man, left to carry a lantern around for the rest of his life. He probably didn’t even know who he was or why he was carrying the lantern around.
“Surprised? Really?” Shadeen looked around and smiled widely at Zehavya. “I love to explore, and I haven’t seen much of Imythess yet either. Besides these...” Shadeen looked down at the body of the monster she had just pulled her katana out of. “Things... are slow and easy to practice on,”
Shadeen swirled her katana around like her had in the ruins. This time she didn’t cut herself. “I’m gettin’ better.” Shadeen smiled widely at Zehavya and laughed happily. She was glad that she was finally becoming somewhat of a threat when she wielded a blade. She was a lot better on horseback, but... she couldn’t really bring a horse here.
“What’re you doing here?” Shadeen remember the woman being a demon hunter and suddenly she became a little more wary about her surroundings. “There isn’t some giant demon in here is there?” Shadeen really hoped not, she didn’t think she was ready for that kind of challenge.
“Oh also... Meet Mykel.” Shadeen smiled at Zehavya as a snow leopard walked out of the darkness and rubbed up against Shadeen’s leg. “He’s great to have around,” Shadeen absently rubbed behind his ears and smiled at Zehavya proudly.
Zehavya - February 13, 2008 12:20 AM (GMT)
She glanced about the cave a moment, looking at the dead creature watching its blood, then turned her calm gaze to the girl, and smiled when Shadeen spoke. "Exploring is a fun thing to do at times. And it does seem like they would be easy to practice on. But I'd go for something that moves faster. When I first started sword practice, it was on... well, intelligent creatures." The hunter said. She actually had practiced on humans. Since her family was demons, her father made her practice against well trained humans, and she had killed most of those she went up against, since she was always a natural with a sword. That was one thing her father Hakri was proud of.
“I’m gettin’ better.”
She laughed, and grinned widely. "Thats good. But I don't think your ready to go up against demons, or my brother anytime soon." She said, smiling slightly. Zehavya was always blunt, usually, she always seemed to say what was true, and sometimes what others wouldn't like to hear, but mostly blunt.
“There isn’t some giant demon in here is there?”
She laughed. "No, there isn't. I'm taking a break for a while. Even a demon hunter needs a break once in a while. Hunting can be stressful sometimes, but if there is a demon, I'll take it down." She said, shrugging lightly. Then closed her eyes a moment, sort of hoping there wasn't a demon about today. She opened then when Shadeen spoke again, then her gaze went to the snow leopard. She grimaced in disgust a moment, thinking of Fehade's pets, the panther and tiger.
"Eh, I bet he is nice to have about. Just don't take him if you ever run into Fehade. He has his own felines, their not as friendly as yours seems to be though." Zehavya said. Her dislike of all felines clear in her voice, though, she tried to not show it as much.
Shadeen - March 28, 2008 07:33 PM (GMT)
((OoC: Oops took awhile))
Shadeen clearly shuttered at the mention of Fehade. “Oh trust me when I say I hope I never have to go up against him again.” Shadeen let out a little giggle to hide the shiver that ran down her spine. The last time they had met had not been under favourable circumstances. “At least you get some time off I guess.” Shadeen smiled broadly at the woman. “I supposed you wouldn’t be opposed to accompanying me in my umm... exploration?” She supposed it was a bit of an exploration on her part. She was practicing her swordsmanship skills as well, hopefully one day they’d be enough that she wouldn’t need someone by her side to jump in, because one day she would be in a situation alone.
Shadeen smiled when Zehavya grimaced and let out a little giggle. She was bad at hiding her feelings, well she probably didn’t want them hidden. “Alright don’t look so bothered,” Shadeen said it as she would to a friend. “He won’t be around you at all. You won’t even notice him,” Shadeen scratched him between the ears and he purred before backing up into the darkness again to do... whatever it was he was doing before. Shadeen found that he normally trailed her at a distance for whatever reason.
“I’ll be happy if I just never run into Fehade again. But with you following me around I think I might not be so lucky,” Shadeen said it playfully and hoped the demon hunter wouldn’t just give Shadeen one of her I-suppose-you-find-that-funny-but-I-really-don’t looks. “Have you ever been here before?” Shadeen gazed around, although the darkness hid much of the details that would have been clear otherwise. “I kind of came here for two reasons to be honest. Practice,” She waved down at the body lying in the cave. “And I want to find the center of the volcano. How cool would that be?” Excitement had crept into her voice and Shadeen’s eyes shone. The fiery center was what brought her here in the first place, but she might as well learn something on the way.
