Title: In the Sun
Description: [p] Veronna

Enelya Norvayn - December 27, 2007 06:11 PM (GMT)
Enelya sat on the beach, basking in the sun, soaking up its rays. It was around midday, and it was the perfect time for her to get some lunch. Her skin was a bit greener than it usually was because of the photosynthesis working within her body. She closed her eyes, feeling her body reenergizing itself.

The sound of the waves gently washing back and forth was like music to Enelya’s ears. Deep in the forests she was never around a big body of water such as this. She seldom went to the lake in Norwood forest, but she loved the water. She loved the feeling of the little fish swimming around her ankles; it often tickled. Enelya dug her feet into the sand, enjoying the feeling between her toes. Here, she was truly at peace. Her haunting memories failed to disturb her, and though she could hear the noises of bustling sailors from the dock, none of them bothered her.

After she felt full, Enelya stood, and waded into the water. The air smelled of salt and fish, but she didn’t mind. She grabbed up her long skirt, pulling it up to her knees, and felt the waves lapping at her calves. A few birds flew overhead, and she wondered what it would be like to fly. She was sure it was different from climbing trees, but perhaps similar. She imagined herself with big huge wings like the birds and outstretched her arms, looking up to the sky, feeling the sun on her face. Her skirt fell into the water, its edges becoming wet; though Enelya failed to notice.

Kalix - December 30, 2007 12:49 AM (GMT)
Meanwhile, as Enelya swam with the fish and flew with the birds, Kalix sat inconspicuously on the few rough, wooden stairs leading down from the edge of the dock into the sand, a dozen meters or so from Enelya. Or at least, he sat as inconspicuously as a wood elf could outside the forest. The docks weren't too bad, as his light amber skin varried little from all the daily deckhands hard at work. His wirey frame, however, had little in common with the hulking brutes that are used to hauling 100 pound barrels all the time.

Kalix eyed the various crewmen on the dock periodically while keeping his eyes mostly on Enelya, his blissfully ignorant charge and merit. He knew that getting out of the forest might be good for her, especially somewhere as calming as the ocean; though, he honestly had only seen it once or twice, but assumed something was better than nothing. He only hoped her inhierant skill over nature would blosom soon, back into what it used to be before the fire. He could tell just by the way she acted that it wasn't what it used to be, whether or not she realized this yet.

Slowly relaxing himself, he leaned more heavily against the not-so-sturdy railing to the stairs. They didn't break, but their wobble cried out an alarm to deaf ears. He watched Enelya stand up and walk into the water, later spreading her arms out with the birds and he smiled softly at her innocense. If we could all only be so lucky..., he thought, sleepily.

Veronna Darkblade - January 1, 2008 12:17 AM (GMT)
It was a decent day in Taras, the streets bustling like always, especially around the docks as ships came in to port to unload their goods for the weekend. Veronna walked through the crowds, her cloak pulled over her face so to prevent people from seeing who she was. It was just recently that people had started to recognize her, and worship her. Whenever someone saw her, that person was likely to bow down before her. She disliked people always acknowledging her, her life that had once been solitude was slowly being shattered.

She sometimes she forgot that there was a beach right at the edge of the port city. She always got so caught up with the city she forgot why the city was called a port city. The ocean was always at her doorstep, just a little ways away. She reached the docks, where men were working at unloading ships. She pulled her hood down, looking up at the sky where the sun shone through the few clouds over head. The people that were around her hardly payed any attention at all to her, their focus was getting done and going to the tavern for some mead.

She walked through the docks area, until she reached where the beach met the wood platforms. The drop down from the docks was around three feet, so she jumped, her boots landing in the sand, the grains shifting under her weight. She managed to keep her balance, and continued forward. The sand went on for miles, the beach spanning a majority of the west coast of Imythess.

She watched the ground as she walked, her gaze distant. One of the only time she had been on the beach was when Ocar had proposed to her. That was an evening she would never forget. Besides that, the beach had very little meaning to her, her connection was with the arena, a place where she called home.

Veronna's hair was pulled back in a braid at the base of her neck, her white hair shining in the sun light. Her leather armor vest giving her support for combat, even though she did not intend to spar or fight with anyone, she felt better wearing it. Instead of her normal pants, she wore a skirt which flowed behind her, it's brown matching her leather vest. Her boots were too, made of leather, which laced up in the front. Her trademark scimitars were on her hips as usual.

As she looked up, she saw a person standing in the water with her arms spread out from her sides, as if she were trying to fly. She then quickly looked around for anyone else and saw an elf standing on some stairs and leaning on the railing, his gaze on the young woman in the water. Veronna hesitated, unsure if she was interrupting something. So she stood there, not moving, trying to decide if she should walk away or not.

Enelya Norvayn - January 1, 2008 02:51 AM (GMT)
Enelya looked up at one bird, noticing how happy it must be, up in the sky. She looked down at her own skirt, becoming drenched in the water. A small smile crept across her face, and she turned to see Kalix enjoying himself on the beach.

She gave him a little wave, and then beckoned him to join her. “Come on Kalix! The water feels great!” Especially if you were a plant person who soaked it up through your toes… Something inside her told her that Kalix wasn’t exactly one to wade in the water, however. But still, Enelya thought it polite to ask.

However, as Enelya had turned her attention towards Kalix, another figure had caught her eye. She raised an eyebrow, and as she looked further, she noticed a woman. She was an odd looking woman, especially garbed in all that armor for visiting the ocean. It would be awfully difficult to swim in such things.

Enelya hopped out of the water, and approached Kalix. She whispered to him as she was wringing out the water from her skirt, and refrained from pointing. “Who’s that woman? She looks strange. I think I’m going to go talk to her… She might need a friend.” Enelya patted Kalix on the back, urging him to come with her, so he could make a new friend, too.

The sand squished beneath her toes as she made her way towards the strange woman with white hair. She didn’t look old by any means, so Enelya was curious as to why her hair was so translucent. The woman looked a bit hesitant, so Enelya offered one of her friendly smiles, reassuring her that out of anyone in the world, Enelya was least likely to harm her; or anyone, at that.

As Enelya neared the woman, she introduced herself. “Hello, are you lost? You look a little uneasy. Would you like to join me? I was just out wading in the water; it feels wonderful!” Though, forgetting she had told the woman her name, she blushed, “err, excuse me, my name is Enelya. What’s yours?” The woman looked nice enough, maybe not the swimming type, but the beach was a wonderful place to be, nonetheless.

Kalix - January 3, 2008 03:10 PM (GMT)
When Enelya's eyes found Kalix on the stairs, his smile disappeared, but his decent mood was still there. He closed his eyes and shook his head at her request. She knew better than to ask him into the water, but the invitation was still pleasant to experience. It wasn't that he didn't know how to swim, or couldn't; he simply enjoyed being dry much more than sopping wet. He almost opened his mouth to call her out of the water before she caught a cold, but a thump in the sand averted Kalix's eyes sharply and he clicked his jaw shut. He gazed intensly at the woman dressed in armor... on the beach. Not only did she look overdressed, but she looked uncertain, of all things. How could someone garbed in such expensive mail get lost? I thought everyone with money had someplace better to be.... His gaze later fell on her pair of blades, both looked very personal and very expensive. What he wouldn't give for a pair of such things....

Kalix never took his eyes off the woman, even as Enelya came up next to him and he invited her into his personal space with an outstretched arm that would rest between her shoulderblades. When she suggested this newcommer might be a friend, Kalix's expression screamed exhasperation and he shot Enelya a look that said, "You know better than that." His eyes left the woman in armor for no more than a few seconds.

He resisted very slightly as Enelya tugged him over, only enough to express his distaste and disapproval of such a naive thing to do. Nevertheless, with his hands pocketed, he followed obediantly, always within arms-reach of Enelya and, soon, swords-reach of the other woman. His grim expression was anything but welcoming. He let Enelya's overly-cheery attitude cover for his lack thereof.

Mentally sighing, it was all he could do to contain his exhasperation. It wouldn't matter if we were facing the heart of evil. Enelya would still be cheery and polite. Then again, if it was any other way... I doubt I'd follow her so closely. His gaze moved between the two women, his eyes visibly softening every time they fell on Enelya. He refused to speak up, assuming the less a potential mugger knew about him, the less they had to find a weakness or opening.

Veronna Darkblade - January 3, 2008 07:17 PM (GMT)
Veronna's question as to whether or not to leave, was answered as the young woman in the water got out and walked over to the elf, saying something and looking in Veronna's direction. She felt slightly awkward standing there, but she waited to see if the two would walk off and find a different place on the beach, or whether they would remain here.

Her question was answered once again. The young woman walked towards her, the elf following, his expression obviously disapproving. She watched the elf the most, for he seemed to be worried in the welfare of the woman. She figured he must be a bodyguard or protector, judging by how close he stayed next to her.

Veronna's red eyes then looked back to the young woman who was now standing before,a smile across the...what was she? She appeared mostly human, but her skin had a slight tint of green to it, and her hair was blue. Veronna couldn't judge her on appearances however, for she looked quite strange herself, her black skin and white hair the obvious trademarks of a drow, but some people may not know that, like this woman who now asked if she was lost, or if she wanted to join her in the water. The goddess let a small smile on to her lips, realizing that his woman had no idea who Veronna was, which was fine with her.

The woman introduced herself, the name unfamiliar to her. "My name is Veronna. I am pleased to meet you Enelya." She said, inclining her head to the young woman, her gaze then going to the elf. "You need not worry so much Elf, I am here to cause no harm to anyone." Whether or not he would believe that was up to him. She brought her attention back to Enelya. "I would join you, but it is a little cool out for my taste. I prefer enjoying the water when the air is warmer." She explained, hoping she would understand.

"May I ask why two, such as you, come so close to the city? You appear more of the nature type to me, and last a new Druids did not much like crowded places." She asked, curious as to why they were here. Maybe it was just for the ocean, and that she could understand, but most druids were cautious about coming so close to the biggest city in Imythess.

Enelya Norvayn - January 4, 2008 03:46 AM (GMT)
Enelya returned Kalix’s doubtful expression with one of those playful “lighten up” faces. She nudged him slightly, trying to get him to realize that most people if you were nice to them, were nice in return. That was the Golden Rule, was it not? Do unto others, as you would have them unto to you. And Enelya would love the world to be as friendly as she was, so she was friendly to others. Besides, its was always fun to meet someone knew. Though as she got up to leave, Kalix stuck to her like a hawk. Enelya didn’t mind though, it was nice he cared. Even if she still didn’t know why.

As she approached the woman she shot a reassuring smile towards Kalix, trying to ease his distrust. She reached back, and squeezed his arm very lightly, letting him know that she didn’t believe this woman to be dangerous. She may have armor on… But maybe that was because she was overly cautious… Like he was.

Offering the woman who introduced herself as Veronna a cheerful grin, Enelya nodded. “It’s wonderful to meet you too Veronna! I’m Enelya, and my friend here is Kalix. I told him that too, but he is fixed on being overly cautious.” Enelya gave an appreciated glance back towards Kalix. She really did like his company, and she wanted him to know that.

Though Veronna turned down her invitation to swim, Enelya shrugged, making the conclusion that she was through being in the water herself. She felt herself quite full and if anything, sunbathing sounded like a great thing to do. She had a dripping skirt and the sun would be more than happy to dry it for her. At least, that’s what Enelya assumed.

"May I ask why two, such as you, come so close to the city? You appear more of the nature type to me, and last a new Druids did not much like crowded places."

Enelya’s eyes dropped down to the sand underneath her feet and she scratched the back of her head, running her fingers through her hair. When he fingers bumped into a stick, she pursed her lips, and pulled it out of a tangle. “Well…” Enelya’s voice faltered a bit and she was unsure how to answer. Surely Veronna didn’t want to be bogged down by some tale about how Enelya was suffering from amnesia and had to get out of the forest to prevent massive outbursts of mourning. She turned to Kalix for some support.

Kalix - January 4, 2008 08:03 PM (GMT)
Kalix took in both people's requests to lighten up, first Enelya's with an eyeroll, then this Veronna's with a flat stare. He proceeded to murmur something under his breath about things not always going as planned; though, even with how close he was to Enelya, even she would have trouble hearing him. Nevertheless, he enjoyed Enelya's company and even more so her attention. He grew up lacking both, but found this contingency infinately more pleasant. If her naivety any less, Kalix wasn't sure how much more he'd enjoy her presence.

"...I prefer enjoying the water when the air is warmer."

Kalix nodded quietly in agreement. Even though he wasn't much of one for random swims, this colder weather made his little-to-no swimming policy an even less chance.

His lips pursed together after hearing Veronna's skepticism on their trip to the coast. He glanced at Enelya with a mixed look of worry and I-told-you-so, and already knew he would have to speak up for her before her indesicion came apparent. He cleared his throat to call attention away from his charge and to him. His voice was flat and informative; little warmth clung to his words. "You could say we're taking a small vacation or trip. It was time for us to part with the forest, but we will be returning shortly." A hand reached out and touched Enelya's wrist comfortingly, but that's all it was; a touch, and then his hand was right back at his side.

In a mild attempt at turning the conversation, he asked, "And what about you, drow? What brings you into the sun?" The way he said that wasn't exactly cold, but neither did he say "drow" with a friendly banter. A mildly curt, inquisitive tone, perhaps. Nevertheless, he was still admiring the blades she held on her body and wouldn't like to upset Veronna, even if it meant getting a closer look at their craftmanship.

Veronna Darkblade - January 5, 2008 01:36 AM (GMT)
Veronna waited for a reply to her question from Enelya, but the young woman did not have one, her gaze going to her protector. Veronna followed her gaze, her red eyes falling on the Elf, expecting an answer. As he replied, his tone of voice was not all that nice, and very defensive. Then he turned it on her, the same question that she had asked them, his voice a little cold on the word 'Drow'.

Veronna let another smile on to her face, one that looked a little sly, deciding to toy with the elf a bit. "Perhaps I am out here to find someone to kill and take there stuff." She said, her smile still on her face, her hands on her scimitars, ready to draw when she wished. She noticed the elf looking at her weapons, so she decided she would oblige him in seeing their full beauty.

She pulled both weapons from their scabbards, the black metal flashing, her movments so fast it would be hard to see. She let her left arm fall to her side, the scimitar held loosely in her hand, while she brought her right weapon up, the blade near her face, her eyes inspecting it, then looking at the elf. "This is what you were looking at, was it not? She asked him, her voice not hard or aggressive in any way. She looked back to Enelya, a reassuring look on her face. "I do not wish you or your protector any harm. I have no need for your equipment anyways." She said the last bit with a little humor on her voice.

"These swords are my life. They have been with me for a long time and have seen many battles. She explained, the blade still held up, her eyes looking it over, as memories flooded her mind. She pushed the thoughts back and sheathed her left blade with just as much ease as she had unsheathed it. She took her now free hand and sat the blade to the scimitar she held in her other hand, on it, the blade flat against her palm. "If you wish to inspect it, you are more then welcome too." She said, extending the sword to the elf, offering the blade freely to him.

Enelya Norvayn - January 5, 2008 05:59 AM (GMT)
Enelya nodded sheepishly as Kalix explained their objectives. She really wished he could at least hold some tasteful conversation… But sometimes that seemed like it was asking a little much of him. However, the woman, who he called a Drow, seemed to be taking it all right… For she wasn’t getting upset, or vexed by his bluntness. Enelya mentally stored an image of Veronna for the next time she met one like her… Dark skin, white hair, ghastly red eyes, and pointed ears like an elf… were Drow.

Glancing back at Kalix, she wondered what he had meant by her reason for being out in the sun. Why, everyone loved the sun, right? Well, unless you were an owl or wolf or something that was nocturnal. Perhaps that was why Veronna had such dark skin; so she could camouflage herself while hunting? Enelya mentally rolled her eyes. Veronna was no animal. There was always the possibility of her previous thoughts, but she figured it was highly unlikely. But who knows? Enelya surely didn’t; she was just glad she hadn’t said any of her thoughts aloud! Or Kalix would have really given her a funny look.

"Perhaps I am out here to find someone to kill and take their stuff."

Lavender eyes widening, Enelya wanted to laugh and pat Veronna’s arm, but there was a malice behind her eyes that made Enelya wonder if she really meant what she had said. She had a smile on, a sly one that contradicted her words… But still, she didn’t like the thought of it, period.

Enelya gulped, not being a fan of sharp, slicing objects. She tried a smile, and looked at the big swords. They looked heavy; Enelya’s twiggy little arms would probably snap off if she tried to hold them. “They are very pretty, Veronna.” She whispered, staying positive. “Where did you get them?” She wasn’t sure what their ‘technical’ name was, but the swords were huge, and probably had a magnificent name. She imagined Veronna trapped on some battlefield, crying out to whatever she held sacred, slashing her enemies in the gleam of the metal shinning in the sun’s glory. It was a fearful thought, but it was probably something Veronna found joy in. Enelya blinked a few times, wanting to rid her mind of something so violent. She couldn’t help but think of graceful Veronna probably was as she twirled in the dance of the swords. It was almost poetic.

Then Veronna turned to Enelya, and ensured her friendly stance. Enelya nodded, with a smile on her face. Her words brought ease to the tension racking in her body. As she listened to Veronna recall fond memories that she had experienced with her swords, Enelya raised an eyebrow, figuring there was a bit of a friendship with the sword. "One would become awfully attached to an object that delayed death for another day... Right Veronna?" She touched Veronna’s arm slightly to comfort her, as there was also seemed to be an unhealed wound in her thoughts. Perhaps it would bring her back and help her push them out of her mind, but Enelya couldn’t even do such things for herself, so she just hoped for the better with Veronna. What had this woman seen in her past?

As the Drow offered her blade to Kalix, Enelya smiled, moving out of the way so that he could see it better. She figured Kalix probably had a fondness in weapons such as this, though Enelya didn’t dabble in such things, and the word “sword” and “weapon” was about the extent of her ill will natured vocabulary went.

Kalix - January 5, 2008 02:32 PM (GMT)
"Perhaps I am out here to find someone to kill and take there stuff."

Without missing a beat, Kalix said, "We have little of value, but if you're looking to bully someone..." He nodded to the docks behind Veronna to the multitude of huge men, "I'm sure they wouldn't mind a fondle." His smile was all in his eyes as his sarcastic nature, one rarely seen, surfaced.

As the Drow unsheathed her weapons, Kalix moved his head slightly, taken mildly by suprise and wanted to avoid the loss of an ear. He eyed the blades closely, moving inches away from Veronna with his eyes on the swords. "Moving so swiftly might make people...!" He jurked his sword out of its own scabard enough to bare a bit of the blade just an inch from the side of Veronna's belly. His eyes never left her weapons as he smiled innocently; once again, something few people saw other than Enelya; and he whispered, "...Nervous..."

Taking a couple steps backward, he put his own sword back with a click and held both of his arms out to take her blade with a respectful nod of his head. Placing one hand at the blade's center, he ran his finger down the sharpened end. His eyes vividly reflected his admiration. "The craftmanship is exquisite... Perfectly balanced and as sharp as the day it was bought, I'm sure..." He turned it around to grip the hilt and he actually smiled. Turning it back so that the hilt faced it's owner, he held out the blade with both hands for Veronna and bowed his head again. "Truely magnificent. I thank you for your generocity."

He was sure all this talk of swords coming from the wood elf would not only confuse Enelya, but quite possibly the Drow as well. Maybe if he felt up to it, he'd talk to Enelya about his family later, particularly his brother.

“Where did you get them?”

Kalix nodded, "Please, indulge us."

Veronna Darkblade - January 7, 2008 01:55 AM (GMT)
Both were taken by surprise as she drew her weapons, something that she was expecting. She made no movements towards the elf as he drew his own weapon, knowing he would not strike her, his statement about drawing her weapons swiftly could make people nervous. And as Enelya said the were pretty, though her voice was quiet and nervous, the woodland person obviously had not gotten out much.

She let the elf take the weapon, as she watched him inspect it, his knowledge of weapons greater then his watch. He handed it back, saying how magnificent the blade was. She felt Enelya touch her arm, the young woman, though afraid, she stood her ground, having hardly moved since Veronna had drawn her weapons, as she said how much of an attachments she would have with her weapons. And Veronna smiled inwardly to herself, "You have no idea." She whispered, her eyes back on the blade she held.

She looked back up when both asked where she had got them and she smiled, a true smile, one with happiness. She sheathed her weapon, not having to even look at her scabbard to slide it in. "My husband gave them to me on our wedding day." She said, her eyes slightly distant. "They are drow made, the metal coming from the Dark Lands. The blades were wonderful when I got them, but I had to perfect them to my liking." She explained, her hands touching the hilts of her scimitars.

"As you both have already guessed, I am not here to hurt you, that much is obvious. I would never think of hurting anyone who has never done me harm. I would not mean much to those who follow me if I did not show any honor." She said her red eyes looking between both of them. "I am still curious, however, why you choose here, of all places to escape from the confines of the forest? Not that I mind having people like you so close to my city, I just have a curiosity. Like what kind of creature you might be, Enelya?" She asked, looking the young woman up and down, not sure what kind of race she was.

Enelya Norvayn - January 7, 2008 03:43 AM (GMT)
"I'm sure they wouldn't mind a fondle."

Enelya turned her head towards Kalix giving him a funny look. But she soon seemed to visibly shrink as Kalix drew is own weapon. She bit her lip, moving a few paces to the right, to get out of their way. “Kalix…” She said, her tone full of worry. She didn’t want there to be a big brawl just because she wanted to hold her own and Kalix was over-protective. When he quickly stepped back and re-sheathed his sword, Enelya took a deep breath, and looked apologetically towards Veronna.

As Kalix inspected it, Enelya leaned over a little, trying to get a better look. Enelya surely didn’t want the blade to meet her flesh. But Veronna seemed nice; she didn’t seem like the kind of person who would attack randomly anyways. Enelya liked Veronna, despite the intimidation factor with the huge blades. Enelya nodded, and smiled at Kalix as he moved into a more friendly, respectful manner of dialogue.

"My husband gave them to me on our wedding day."

Enelya tilted her head slightly, whispering a soft ‘aww…’ Though, to be honest, she wasn’t sure why a sword would make a good gift. Maybe he was the sort of husband who wanted to make sure that his beloved was able to protect herself. Enelya supposed that was nice of him. Though, Enelya hoped that whoever she eventually married realized that Enelya wouldn’t know what to do with a sword except look at it. As Veronna continued about how it was crafted, Enelya just sort of smiled and nodded, not really sure what she was talking about. It seemed to be very important to her, nonetheless.

“I would not mean much to those who follow me if I did not show any honor."

Nodding, Enelya agreed with Veronna. Honor was a good thing in the whole leader scheme. Enelya had never really been the leader of anything before, but honor and honesty was definitely important. Veronna seemed like she would be a good person to look up to. Enelya thought of asking her who followed her, but she assumed if Veronna had wanted the two to know, she’d tell them.

“Not that I mind having people like you so close to my city, I just have a curiosity. Like what kind of creature you might be, Enelya?"

Enelya’s train of thought went to a sudden halt as Veronna asked this question. She opened her mouth as if to speak, but her voice refused to make sound. She muttered a few spits of indescribable words… But it didn’t really make sense. “I… don’t really know…” She whispered, a bit embarrassed that she was unable to explain her heritage. She looked to Kalix, though she knew he did not have an answer either. He had just been sitting against a tree whenever she poked him after waking up from the previously scorched night.

Kalix - January 7, 2008 04:24 AM (GMT)
Kalix's eyebrows raised only slightly at the mention of the wedding gift and their crafted materials. He wasn't sure how he felt about modifying the gift to her body, but if she was actually going to use them, he could understand.

"I would not mean much to those who follow me if I did not show any honor."

Kalix raised a skeptic eyebrow at this drow with a newfound interest. "And who exactly follows an indecisive, daywalking Drow, I wonder...?" Only one of his eyebrows raised slightly to add intrigue to his curiosity. And immediately after that, Veronna specifically said it was her city. "And this is your city, as well? If there is something we should know to show a more proper respect, I'd love to hear it, rather than insult you as I stand here with both my ignorance, tongue, and upright posture."

"...why you choose here..."

Kalix eyed the sky in thought, pondering what to say next and how to say it. "We... don't exactly have any particular bearing at the moment. Just traveling to travel, I supose...." His uncertainty was obvious, but when Veronna dropped the next bomb, Kalix couldn't stop the hand that went to rub his forhead.

"...Like what kind of creature you might be, Enelya?"

The only thing his quick mind could come up with was, "Elenya, why don't you go find some seashells to make a necklace for Veronna. I'm sure she'd love it." He had turned around to whisper in her ear. As soon as she would leave, Kalix would speak in a quiet tone to Veronna, but spoke very quickly as to his uncertainty of how long he had to explain. "She doesn't know. She's currently suffering extream amnesia due to a fire that took place in her home in the Forest. Enelya isn't human, dryad, nor elf. She was the result of an experiment conjured up by a village of corrupt druids that soon died off and Enelya fell into the care of a gathering of dryads. She is my charge, as the dryads had asked of me. She knows nothing of this, so please, keep it quiet until she can regain her memory herself." His gaze was severe as he fell silent, waiting for Veronna's promise. "She would not do to well if someone simply told her who she was. That is a mere step below brainwash and I will have no part of that." He eyed Veronna before turning around to watch Enelya finish up her search for shells.

Veronna Darkblade - January 7, 2008 07:33 PM (GMT)
Veronna was amused at the elf's reply to her words, asking if they should be showing more respect. She had finished her sentence with a question, one that made the elf rub his forehead, the answer obviously more complicated then Veronna had first anticipated. She watched as the elf sent Enelya away to find some shells on the beach, telling her to make Veronna a necklace. The elf turned back to her, whispering in her ear, a story of how Enelya was created. Explaining how the young woman had no memory of the fire, or anything before it. This interested Veronna, curious about how one could forget so much. But that might also explain why Enelya behaved much younger then how she looked.

"You have nothing to worry from me. I can hold my tongue through the hardest of situations." She assured him, her stare just as severe as his, no humor or happiness found within the red depths of her eyes. "You must much patience to watch out for her. It must be hard." She said, looking over in Enlya's direction, wondering about her, and about those who created her. She was almost glad to hear that the druids had died, for people who did such experiments should not be allowed to live. Then again, if they had not, then Enelya would not be alive.

"And to answer your question about who would follow me. Any and all who take up the life of the blade can find me, most can not get far without me, or my blessing." She explained to him, not wanting to out right say who she was. "And if you knew who I was, you would be bowing before me. But that makes me feel uncomfortable, so don't worry about it." She said, giving him a smile. Since these two seemed to have been secluded for awhile, perhaps they did not know of the new gods who protected Imythess.

Enelya Norvayn - January 8, 2008 03:22 AM (GMT)
Enelya was still a little taken aback at the fact that she did not know what she was. She didn’t even really know who she was. It was just… nerve wrecking. But beyond all of that, Enelya was determined to start a new life, and leave her old one behind. One couldn’t just dwell in the past forever after all.

She seemed to be lost in thought as Kalix and Veronna exchanged a series of dialogue that Enelya didn’t seem to care much about. She wasn’t sure how cities belonged to one person. Cities were places that many people dwelled in, belonging to everyone. Though there was always someone who made she everyone was prosperous it wasn’t “their” city, they just helped take care of it.

"Enelya, why don't you go find some seashells to make a necklace for Veronna. I'm sure she'd love it."

Kalix seemed to break Enelya’s trance and her head snapped her gaze up at him. She listened to his suggestion, and her lips curled into a creased smile. She loved making things for people and a seashell necklace would be wonderful for their new friend. She patted Veronna on the arm, gave Kalix a little wink in thanks for the idea, and wandered off in search of shells. Her toes fell into the sand as she walked, taking larger steps as her feet displaced the grains. She picked up the corner of her skirt as to not get it wet again. After standing in the sun, talking to Veronna, it had become cool and damp. As she turned over rocks, and looked in between reeds, Enelya picked out four small shells, and one large one that seemed to curl in around itself.

Enelya laid the five shells on the beach as she returned to the reeds, plucking three long ones. She sat in the dry sand, braiding the reeds. She hummed slightly as her hands whipped through, moving lightning fast as she braided the ‘string’ of the necklace. She hooked the shells securely onto the reeds so that they would fall flat against Veronna’s chest, the largest in the middle, guarded by the two smaller ones on either side. Enelya put the necklace out in front of her, admiring her handiwork. She nodded, approving of it, and got up from the beach, returning to the others.

They seemed to be just finished talking about something quite serious, for Kalix’s face looked the way it looked when he was trying to think of something hasty to keep Enelya out of danger. Enelya touched his shoulder, giving him a worried look. Was everything okay? “I made you your necklace, Veronna.” She held it up so Veronna could see, also displaying it to Kalix. “Would you like me to put it on you? I promise I won’t make it too tight.”

Kalix - January 8, 2008 02:46 PM (GMT)
"It must be hard."

Kalix shook his head, and donned a smile that softened his eyes and potentially spoke volumes, "Perhaps..." His words were quiet, and mainly meant for himself to hear, for he would never admit his current thoughts to anyone, not even Enelya. Regardless, he shrugged, his smile vanishing as quickly as it had appeared. "...And perhaps not. She is an interesting character, as I'm sure that much is obvious."

Kalix then raised an eyebrow when Veronna mentioned how people who know her truely do bow. He almost did himself until he understood it made her uncomfortable. He nodded politely and said, "Then I hope to meet you on such terms one day to have a proper intoduction, or rather, not need one for either of us. I, too, take up the life of the blade, but..." He turned his head back to Enelya, who was now tieing the shells together, "...It isn't for myself." He turned back to Veronna, "So I'd have to pass on following, as I currently lead."

When Enelya aproached them, Kalix offered a small smile to her concerned look, but his smile stuck as she presented the gift to Veronna. He gently placed a hand on the back of Enelya's arm, if just to make sure she was there as his sights were on Veronna. "So..." Kalix attempted at making a change in the subject Veronna and he were previously engauged in, "What brings you to Taras, unless you simply reside here? Though, I'd think someone that owns a city would want to escape it all the more."

(OOC: I, too, apologize for the shortness x.x)

Veronna Darkblade - January 12, 2008 03:37 AM (GMT)
Veronna let a warm smile on her face when the elf said Enelya was an interesting character. "She indeed seems quite interesting." She said, her eyes going to the young woman as she gathered up seashells for a necklace. She nodded to him, as he did to her. "Perhaps we shall meet in different circumstances, and you can see who I really am."

Her eyes went back to Enelya as she came over with the necklace in her hands. Veronna smiled, the smile she gave her child, one that was grateful for the present. She offered to put it on and she nodded. "Please, I cannot wait to see it on me." She said, lowering herself on to her knees so Enelya could reach her neck with out any difficulty.

She listened to the elf's question, about what she was doing there. She sighed, standing once the necklace was on. "I do live here. And you would think I would get tired of this place. But it kind of grows on you after a while. And I cannot adventure that much anymore, for I have a child and I do not believe I could raise her on the road." She explained, her eyes getting soft at the mention of her daughter. "Besides, I do not own the city. I just lead it. It took me in when I came to the surface, offering a home to me, even if I was different then most."

She looked towards the city, at the noise that came from the docks, and the tall buildings which made up most of the city. "Would you two like to come with me and see some of the city? Perhaps get a drink someplace, or check out the arena?" She asked, raising her eyebrows at them, wondering if they would be too nervous to come with her in to the city. And she would understand if they wished to stay out on the beach. It was a pleasant day for it, and maybe she would remain on the beach for awhile longer with them if they did not wish to see the sights of Taras.

Enelya Norvayn - January 12, 2008 04:35 AM (GMT)
Excitement boiled in Enelya’s eyes as he scooted around to put Veronna’s necklace on. Enelya moved Veronna’s beautiful white hair to one side of her shoulder as she tied the reeds around Veronna’s neck. It was loose, and hung just below her collarbone. Enelya walked back around to see it on Veronna. A wide smile graced Enelya’s face as she admired her handiwork. The plant lady grabbed Veronna’s hand, giving her time to get back onto her feet, but pulling her towards the ocean so she could see for herself. “Whatcha think, Veronna?” Enelya looked brightly to Kalix, excited that she had the chance to make something for the swordswoman.

"I do live here. And you would think I would get tired of this place. But it kind of grows on you after a while. And I cannot adventure that much anymore, for I have a child and I do not believe I could raise her on the roads.”

Enelya’s eyes became wide as she looked to Veronna with a tender heart. “Aw, Veronna, you’re a mother? What’s your child’s name?” Enelya truly had a soft spot for children. Enelya wanted to bombard Veronna with questions about her child, but figured she’d talk about the sapling when given the chance. Enelya wasn’t sure if she wanted children of her own, but just the look in a child’s face meant the world to her. The innocence held there made it look like there was something more to this world than meets the eye.

"Would you two like to come with me and see some of the city? Perhaps get a drink someplace, or check out the arena?"

Her eyes shifted for a moment, looking back at Kalix. The city frightened her slightly, but she also wanted to learn more about this whole new place! There was so much beyond her beloved forest, and by golly, she was going to explore it all! She was going to understand the world outside of her botanical comfort zone. Enelya nodded slightly, still trying to read Kalix’s response. “I’m okay with it if you are, Kalix…” As long as Kalix was beside her, Enelya knew she would be fine. Who knows, once she went inside she could completely forget her fears and run around, overcome by all the new things.

Kalix - January 16, 2008 04:55 PM (GMT)
Kalix nodded solemnly at the mention of having a child. It would be terrible to actually have to raise on one the road, no good at all. He eyed Enelya when she lit up at the mention of a child and Kalix sighed inwardly. What is it with females and little children? he wondered.

"Would you two like to come with me and see some of the city? Perhaps get a drink someplace...,"

Kalix chewed on a lip at the mention of scoping out the city. It was true Kalix's childhood had developed near Taras, but Enelya had very little experience with this sort of thing and Kalix feared for Enelya's safety, and who knew what alcohol would do to Enelya. Even to humans, it screws up their fuctioning, and to Enelya... Kalix didn't ever want to find out. He was about to pass on the idea all together until his mind registered the, "...or check out the arena?" and saw Enelya's uncertain, but eager expression.

He rubbed his face with a hand in thought while eyeing Enelya purposefully so that both of them could read some of his thoughts. He sighed before looking back to Veronna and saying, "Sounds like a plan, but under the condition that we get to visit your home." He grinned slightly and glanced at Enelya from the corner of his eye. He knew she'd want to see the child, and to be honest, Kalix was rather hungry. If he had a shot at a free meal that he wouldn't have to catch and cook himself, he'd jump all over it at this point. Finding food was somewhat easier before Enelya was around, but now he had to try not to kill anything too cute... Everytime he thought of that, he sighed a little.

Veronna Darkblade - January 29, 2008 04:30 PM (GMT)
Veronna let Enelya drag her over to the waters edge so she could see her reflection. She smiled, touching the necklace, which was simple but still cute. "It looks wonderful, thank you." She said, looking at Enelya, who awed at the fact that Veronna was a mother. "Her name is Vaoulrah." She answered, seeing how much Enelya loved children just by her expression.

She turned back to the elf, watching him make the decision about going in to the city, obviously making it apparent he was not to sure about venturing in to the city. She knew he worried for his charge, and she could understand why. Finally he said okay, so long as they could go to her home. She nodded smiling, "Very good. But I may warn you now, my home is not very quiet as of late." She said, not elaborating on why it was not quiet anymore.

She looked up at the sun, seeing how high up it was. It was barely midday, and still early for plenty of time to see the city. "We best get moving, Taras is large and there are many things to see." She said, gesturing towards the old wooden steps leading away from the beach.

It had been awhile since she had interacted with people like this. She had not been getting out much lately, staying mostly in the confines of the city, having to deal with problems that arose there. And she found she was enjoying herself, meeting new people, and Enelya truly intrigued her, the plant like woman was something the goddess had never seen or heard of, and that amazed her.
