Title: Mithril vs. Celestial

Zorgn - December 26, 2007 01:18 AM (GMT)
Name: Mithril Chainmail
Buying Price: 1000
Selling Price: 500

Name: Celestial Chain
Description: Even lighter and stronger than Mithral, this finely woven mesh is as strong as a dragon's hide and is bright silver is so light it can be worn, undetected beneath normal clothing
Price to buy: 600
Price to sell: 300

Notice the buying prices of both, and then the description of the Celestial Chain. Should something that is both lighter and stronger cost less than it's inferior counterpart?

Also check this bit.

Name: Drow Adamantine Chainmail
Buying Price: 800
Selling Price: 400

Since the Drow Adamantine Chainmail is priced less than the Mithril Chainmail you'd think it's worse, but it's priced more than the Celestial Chain too.

So let's see if I've got this straight.

The Celestial Chain is better than both the Mithril Chainmail and the Drow Adamantine Chainmail but costs way less.

What's with that? With the heavy plate armor series, the Demonic Armor is at the top, no questions asked. The second best plate armor

Name: Dark Plate
Buying Price: 500
Selling Price: 250

is 100 gold less. With the chain series, to get the second best armor you'd have to pay 400 gold more than the best armor money can buy.

I don't really know where the Archangel's Armor comes into this. It's got wings and says it offers more protection than the Celestial Chain, so I belive it's price is justified. Anyway, thoughts on this? Is a price change needed somewhere? Do I just spend too much time cruising the shops?

ooh, wow. I had never noticed that before, but you bring up some very valid points.
