Title: Shadows Among The Ruins
Description: {p} Nightwind only please :)

Kyrus - November 29, 2007 05:45 AM (GMT)
Kyrus sat on a block which happened to be part of the ruin Cathedral, a chill wind blew and ruffled his goldn blond hair. As he sat he wondered if Nightwind had recieved his message, his cat Samson rubbed himself on his legs and purred contentedly. Kyrus began to humm softly as he waited for his companion to arrive, the ruins of the ancient Cathedral yawned around him like some colossal beast. All was eeriely quiet and not a sound broke the still air, but being a High Elf Kyrus was unafraid of such superstitious things. He hummed softly to himself as he waited for Nightwind to arrive, had she recieved his message? Was she coming?

Nightwind - November 29, 2007 03:55 PM (GMT)
She had gotten a letter, but had no idea who it was from. At first, when she found it, she was sort of panicky, not knowing what to do, afraid it was a trap, then she thought of why one would want to try killing or capturing a black/green dragon who knows how to fight very well, sides, she was also a Shadowdancer, which helped out a lot.

She stood inside the cathedral, hidden in a shadow. Anyone who looked at the shadow she hid in, wouldn't be able to see, not even a elf, no one could. Shadowdancers are all able to hid themselves in shadows and not be detected, it was a handy little thing, Sava had always thought when she had been considering going into that class. Now, she stood there, not moving, and watching the elf. She was waited to see if there would be trap or something else, but so far, nothing.

Suddenly, Felix, a dark Umbra, jumped through a broken window, and growled fiercely at the elf.

Sava stepped out of the shadows. "Felix, come." She called to the dark Umbra. Felix came willingly, though, he kept an eye on the elf.

Sava was dressed in her regular traveling clothes, and leather armor. At her sides, were to slender blades, that shimmered about them, and glowing lightly, even with jut a glance, one could tell they were magical blades. Also, near the blades, was a small bag, it was her bag of Neverending Space. Then, on her back, was another shimmering magic sword, the Spirit blade. At a first appearance, she looked like she wasn't one to threaten, or challenge. She looked like a fighter, and she was. Her black and green hair was tied back in a ponytail, with a piece of leather.

She walked forward, then stopped a ways off. She wished she wasn't in her human form, but oh well.

"How do you know my name?" She asked him, and not to kindly. Any friends who knew her, would know she had a short temper. She was very curious as how he knew her last name, Nightwind. Though, maybe he could have heard her from some other nobles, since she has been making frequent trips to Taras, and other cities, trying harder to become a noble, hoping that others will see that she doesn't want to be a cruel, killing maniac, and she isn't, only once in her life has she ever been something like that, and that was when she killed her siblings. Or, he could have heard the name from some guards, since, none of the guards like her in the cities, and try to kill her whenever possible, thinking she is a threat.

She shifted from foot to foot, waiting.

Kyrus - November 29, 2007 08:30 PM (GMT)
Kyrus' eyes flicked to the figure before him as she spoke. He sensed she had a short temper but that didn't phase him the least "Ah you made it," he replied disarmingly with a smile. His eyes flicked to the Dark Umbra at her side and then back to the woman herself "How do I know your last name?" he said "your reputation goes ahead of you my dear and besides you are known to me." He got up from his seat and moved to stand before her with a disarming smile upon his face "Do not worry, this is not a trap. I would never dream of hurting one such as magnificent as yourself," he said in a carefully even tone. He smiled again "That is correct my friend. I know that you are a green dragon not to mention a Shadowdancer as well."

Nightwind - November 30, 2007 12:17 AM (GMT)
She stood where she was, and watched the elf explain how he knew her, well, sort of. Her reputation? She didn't really know she had a big enough one for people to know a lot about her, the only people who really knew her, and most of her secrets and such, were her own friends. She narrowed her gaze, and watched him. She was annoyed how he smiled a lot but that did not show at all, she was good at concealing most of her feelings of things, and annoyance was one of them, only when she is truly angry will it ever show.

Sava stayed quiet for a long time after he finished speaking, and gave off a slight smile, though it was soon gone. She wandered around the elf, circling him, then she walked to the side of her dark Umbra, and stared at him again.

"You know a lot about me, it seems, even some of my secrets, that I carefully not mention around many people." She said, calmly, hiding her small annoyance how he knew she was a Shadowdancer. Felix, growled at the elf, and Sava didn't even need to have Felix tell her that he didn't trust the elf, and Sava must admit, she didn't trust him either.

"Who are you?" She demanded, her voice still calm. Her hand rested upon her sword at her side. Sava waited for his answer. She didn't really like him that much, maybe it was because she never liked many elves, mainly Moon Elves, but she knew he wasn't one, she knew what Moon Elves look like, she has seen many in her time.

((OOC: Could you try making longer posts?))

Kyrus - November 30, 2007 12:28 AM (GMT)
OOC: Sure thing my friend :)

Kyrus watched as Sava circled him, like a hunting tiger. He sensed that she didn't trust him but that didn't really bother him at this point in time. He ignored the growl of the Dark Umbra, he was not afraid of the feline. He looked up and his eyes met Sava's for a brief second "You wish to know who I am?" he said "I am Kyrus Lynin, the High Elf." He sensed that she was annoyed by his smiles and they faded froom his lips "Really, you are much too tense. I am not going to harm you. I called you here because there is a matter which needs taking care of among these ruins. Dark creatures have begun emerging and causing no end of havoc. Naturally my dear, I sent for you. Because your success as a fighter goes ahead of you and you have always intrigued me."

He got up and moved closer to her, so that he was standing close but not in a threatening way "I know that you do not trust me and in your situation that is wise. But you can relax and take your hand off your sword, I am a friend Miss Nightwind. I shall not harm you, I am a High Elf not a Dark Elf," he said. He cricled her in a way of cool interest, as one would study a particularly interesting book. "Tell me, what experience do you have with fighting the creatures of shadow and darkness?"

Nightwind - November 30, 2007 12:47 AM (GMT)
She stared at the elf who said his name was Kyrus, and the edge of her mouth twitched slightly when he said High elf. She heard of High Elves, but what she heard about them that some may be ignorant, but not all, and she had no idea yet if this one was like them or not. She would have to wait and see. She smiled in a mocking way when he said she was to tense. That is just how she is with strange people, who know a lot about her, and she doesn't even know them.

"I cannot trust you, Kyrus, I have merely met you, and you know more about me, then you. It is good I am tense, it means you, or anything else won't surprise me much. Its a good thing to be tense, and ready for any battle that may occur." She said, quite like it was obvious. He mentioned taking her hand off her sword, and she smiled a slyly, that made her seem odd.

"I'd rather not move my hand. Always best to be prepared." She said coolly, and she watched him circle her, and she stood still, narrowing her eyes slightly. "I almost trust Dark Elves more." Sava spoke, in her same, cool voice. And she almost did one of her best friends, was half dark elf.

"Tell me, what experience do you have with fighting the creatures of shadow and darkness?"

She suddenly went rigid, and clenched her hand around the handle of her swor,d she closed her eyes tight, calming herself a little, when they opened, they were the same calmness. "Enough to kill them." She said. Demons. She remembered those, though, they were of the abyss. She remembered killing a troop of them, they gave her nightmares in return for killing them, and there was nothing she could do to get rid of them. She watched him closely, before glancing about the cathedral.

Kyrus - November 30, 2007 01:11 AM (GMT)
Kyrus laughed at her words "You are a wise one are you sure you are not part elven?" He stopped his circling and stood before her "You almost seem like I am about to attack you, but I am not like that. Not all us High Elves are the same, I'll admit my race does have some...flaws but we are not like our Dark Elf cousins," he said and looked into her eyes for a brief second. "Dark Elves live only for evil and slaughter, while High Elves live for peace and prosperity. Although some of my brethern are..unscrupulous, I am not like those ones." When she said she had experience fighting creatures of darkness he smiled "Good, for that is what lies ahead of us. But fear not there are no demons, just lesser dark creatures which in their numbers are proving to be a great nusiance to the surrounding area."

As they walked he looked at her "You seek to know more about me do you not? Ask and you shall have your answers," he said. They walked along side by side towards the towering ruins of the Cathedral inside which their adventure awaited them.

Nightwind - November 30, 2007 02:11 AM (GMT)
"I would have to kill myself if I was part elf. Sides, elves are not the only wise ones around the world." She said, a bit coldly. She hated most elves, Moon elves the most, but she also didn't like others, she found most annoying with their features, and ignorant selves. She walked along side him, Felix just behind her heels, keeping his eyes on the back of the elf, not liking him in the least. Sava's eyes suddenly flared.

"I'd watch your tongue, elf. Not all Dark elves are evil." She hissed coldly. She thought about her friends, she actually had two that were part Dark elf, and then the Goddess of Blades, who was a full-bred Dark elf, though, Sava hated the gods, but still, she hated to let the High elf consider the Dark elves all evil who slaughter.

She smirked slightly, when he said no demons, but she couldn't be all to sure. She pulled the sword that was on her back out, it was her Spirit Blade, it could kill spirits, which was really handy at times.

"I like to learn of my allies slowly. I'm afraid I won't be able to trust you for a while." And that was true, the only way she could learn to trust someone, was if they helped her in battles, or other things, but mainly those who help her in some battles. She walked in silence a moment, and cursed under her breath silently, though, if you heard, you wouldn't know why.

Kyrus - November 30, 2007 02:19 AM (GMT)
Kyrus heard her curse under her breath and cocked an eyebrow at it curiously "Very well then, I shall have to prove to you that I am trust worthy. I also like to learn my allies slowly," he said his voice carefully neutral "perhaps if I aided you in battle somehow it would show that I am infact trustworthy." He walked along at her side "Oh, they aren't? Then explain the fact that they murdered my mother and father when I was but five and made a great show doing it." There was a slight tone of annoyance in his voice as he spoke, did she think he cared not about others? He shook his head and let the matter slide, he shifted his Scimitar slightly, preparing for the coming battle "I hope you are ready as I am," he said softly so as not to awaken any dark creature which may be lurking up ahead "be prepared for all sorts of dark things in there," he said pointing ahead to the ruins of the Cathedral.

Nightwind - November 30, 2007 04:20 PM (GMT)
The reason she had cursed, was because she had forgot to leave orders for the servants at her house, and she forgot to tell them that she was leaving, but they would know, she just worried a bit to much sometimes, even though, she knew they'd take care of her small palace near the falls. But Sava was also afraid that the cats she owns would start to wreck havoc about. They were strange cats, all black, and all mischevous. She smirked slightly at the thought of them jumping on the tables, though, she had admit, she never liked cats all that much.

She looked at Kyrus, and nodded. "I guess you would have to do that. After all, its the only way I learn to trust one... maybe..." She said, and looked ahead again at the cathedral.

"Oh, they aren't? Then explain the fact that they murdered my mother and father when I was but five and made a great show doing it."

She laughed. "Well most are evil, but not all, Kyrus, even you should know that, unless you've never seen the Goddess of Blades, who is a Dark elf. And sides, why I say not all are evil, is because I have plenty of friends who are part Dark elf." She said, then she spoke in a softer voice, "I am sorry to hear that they killed your parents... sadly, I have no idea what its like to have one, even though, my mother is still alive, but she cares nothing for me." She said, thinking about Sheva, and Sava's dark eyes dimmed.

"I am always prepared for battles." She said, and it was so, she was always expecting battles, and always prepared for one, usually.

Kyrus - November 30, 2007 09:41 PM (GMT)
Kyrus smiled softly at her as she spoke in a softer voice to him "Thank you, it means something that said that. Most people just laugh and say who cares," he explained "they have no idea what it is like for such a young child to see his parents brutually torn away from him." He looked across at her and studied her for a second "I have never met the Goddess of Blades. You are right, I know I shouldn't think of all Dark Elves as being evil but its just so hard, every time I meet them I get those pictures in my mind, of what their kind did, what they took from me." The fact that he was telling her this showed that he was beginning to trust her "But I am trying, it may take awhile but I am trying."

Together they entered the ruined halls of the Cathedral and he stood at her side. Suddenly they found themselves surrounded by snarling, drooling Shadow Goblins. Kyrus cocked his eyebrow at Nightwind in a playful fashion "Well it looks like we have company," the drew his Scimitar.

Nightwind - December 2, 2007 03:02 AM (GMT)
She stayed silent when he talked, keeping her mouth tight, and shut, not wanting to say anything at the moment. When he said the word "Brutally" the edge of her mouth twitched, and her hand tightened on her sword. She glanced at him, then looked straight ahead at the doors to the cathedral. She stared at it a moment, then shut her eyes for a second, before they opened again.

"You should banish those memories. Banish the memories of that time." She said, still looking straight ahead. Once again, like other times, she remembered the time she slaughtered her sisters and brothers. They treated her like dirt, for being the littlest one. She frowned, hate burned in her eyes, till it finally died down once they reached the doors.

Ahh... even I can't banish memories... so whats the point in trying." She told herself, taking in a deep breath. They walked in, and she stared at the creatures inside, and she lifted her sword, and going straight into a battle stance.

She laughed silently when he spoke, then smiled slightly. Instead of replying, she swung her sword back, and attacked the creature.

Kyrus - December 3, 2007 02:09 AM (GMT)
Kyrus nodded and also took up his battle stance "It is not easy to banish memories," he said softly "Some we are meant to keep others require work to get rid of." He slashed at the nearest one of the Shadow Goblins and the creature fell shrieking with a hole in its gut "I have tried many times to banish the memory of those times," he said over the battle "but they just won't leave. They return to me in nightmares and plague my dreams," he said hoping she would understand. He had lost so much that day, so much he loved and could never get back.

Nightwind - December 3, 2007 02:42 AM (GMT)
Her sword went through the creature, at his shoulder, slicing through its body horizantal, and it fell. Right away, she striked out at the next one, as they came at her, clawing, and swinging weapons, but they never got really far. Her Spirit Blade chopping through them faster then they could reach her. But because she was going fast, her breathing was harder, but she seemed calmed, and fine, almost like slicing through these like they were nothing, well, thats what it seemed anyone, she was actually getting really tired by this, but she never faltered or stopped.

She glanced at the elf, and nodded agreement.

"I am nearly the same. I have nightmares that won't leave... they are... of demons." She said, as she stabbed another shadow goblin. She smirked slightly. She must admit, she liked killing things at times, and that was her evil said thinking that, you could say.

She took a step back from one that was getting close, and it clawed at her, grazing her arm, and some blood flowed fourth. Snarling, she stabbed it. She took no notice of the small wound she now hand, she hardly could care for a small wound.

Kyrus - December 3, 2007 03:49 AM (GMT)
Kyrus smiled at her "I know what that feels like. These nightmares just won't leave me," he said as he slashed out and impaled another Shadow Goblin and slashed another. He looked over to where Nightwind was fighting and smiled apprectiatively "Oh you are an amazing fighter," he said "I see that I am not the only one who enjoyed fighting." There was something exciting about fighting, it helped to release stress, it was always very good exercise and worked to keep you fit and strong. One never did see any fat warriors.

Nightwind - December 3, 2007 04:02 AM (GMT)
"If you were cursed with nightmares, then they won't leave." Sava said, striking down another. She then twirled on the spot, lopping the head of one that was trying to sneak up on her, and then turned on the spot again, and jumped forward into the fray of fighting a few more. To her, there seemed to be less now then what they had started with. She smirked slightly, as she attacked another. She smiled a little when he said she was an amazing fighter, but she did not say anything to it. She was trained to be a warrior, a knight actually. The academy she went to taught her to be a great warrior, and there, no one knew she was a dragon, it was a time when she was trapped as a human for ten years.

She smiled at those memories, but like usual, the thought of Fios popped up, and anger suddenly flared within her eyes. She hated moon elves because of him. Because of the one she once loved. She clenched her hands around the hilt of the sword tighter, as she took down another.

"I don't very much enjoy it. Only when I know I won't die." She merely said to what he said last. She did enjoy fighting sometimes, but not all the times, mainly because you could die while fighting, and a lot of the times, thats what she feared sometimes.

Kyrus - December 3, 2007 04:16 AM (GMT)
Kyrus saw the look in her eyes and understood what she had left unsaid "I too lost someone I loved, some who was very dear to me," he said as she slashed another Shadow Goblin and watched its blood soak into the tiled floor "She was torn from my arms," he impaled another Goblin "taken from me one dark night, I tried to go after her, to find her but I was too late. I heard a scream and I found her...her bloodied body lying on the ground." The memories flooded through him, he saw again the body of his loved one, the woman he had loved with his whole heart, lying their on the cold ground. Her clothes torn, but until the end she had kept herself for him. The force of her love for him had stopped those who killed her from...violating her which they would have done. Tears trickled down his cheeks at the memories "I was too late, I couldn't save her," he said as tears continued to flow "She was taken from me by Dark Elves. So you can see why I find it hard to trust any Dark Elves, they robbed me of so much. My family, my home and my loved one."

He turned his sorrow into anger and launched himself at the Shadow Goblins and slew another one and wheeled on another "From that day on I swore I would make all creatures of darkness pay. That I would kill them for what they stole from me," he said and stabbed another Shadow Goblin.

Nightwind - December 3, 2007 04:30 AM (GMT)
She watched him in the corner of her eye, and listened, as she battled. She felt sorry for him, but she was not one to turn to for comfort or anything, she she said nothing, and did nothing, except fight some. Maybe she would try to be some comfort afterward, but who knows. She was still a little annoyed how he hated dark elves, but everyone was different. Like Sava now, she cared little for anything to do with love. She didn't lose Fios, he just ran from her, afraid. She knew of his fear of dragons, she just never told him she was one, afraid he would run away, and look, he had, therefore, she grew a hate to hate moon elves, thinking them weaklings, and a hate for almost anything to do with that emotion, love.

She shook her head slightly, when she saw him launch into the shadow goblins. She knew one thing she learned from Fios, and it was handy; never fight in anger. When you do, you normally go blind with rage, and well, most of the time, results weren't very good.

"Felix!" She called to the umbra, who had been attacking those nearest with his claws in a lazy fashion. He perked up once Sava called to him though. Sava lifted her sword, pointing it towards Kyrus, then turned back to her battles. Felix nodded, then trotted off to fight at the elf's side, basically helping the elf. Sava had Felix go over there to basically make sure the elf would be fine. She didn't want a wounded comrade right now, it wouldn't be so fun.

Kyrus - December 3, 2007 04:41 AM (GMT)
Kyrus nodded as the Dark Umbra appeared at his side and began fighting with him, he nodded his thanks to Sava and continued battling. His anger subsided, merely a brief burst of anger brought on by those painful memories. The blade of a Shadow Goblin grazed him drawing blood but he ignored it and ran his sword through the skull of the offending goblin before wheeling and confronting another. "Shadow Goblins is this all there is?" he questioned and suddenly there was an eardrum shattering screech and the thump of large feet coming there way. "Oh Kyinsa," Kyrus swore in the High Elven tongue "Meeni cordan nensha." He cleaned his blade and looked around to face this new opponent, the remaining goblins shrieked and raced back up the passage way only to be blasted to their deaths by fiery flames. "Drake!" Kyrus warned and went to Nightwind's side "A Drake is a relative of a dragon," he explained "but they lack the intelligence and any sense of self-control whatsoever, I guess you could call them the feral cousins of dragons."

Nightwind - December 3, 2007 05:00 AM (GMT)
She stood very still once the goblins retreated and the drake appeared. She stared at it very calmly. Why should she fear one related to her draconic race. She watched it calmly, and glanced at Kyrus. "I know what a drake is. And I know some that are intelligent." She said, though, it was years ago when she met a drake, but she remembered what they were like, and obviously, this one was evil, or maybe just angry? She started to walk forward, slowly, and she sheathed her weapon, then slowly, her body changed, being covered in scales, every bone, and muscle changed, every feature turned that into a dragon.

Soon, she was a full dragon. Tall, and long. Luckily, the cathedral was huge, so she could easily fit, mainly because she wasn't the largest of dragons, but larger then a drake, most likely.

She flexed her wings a little, getting comfortable a moment, then she peered over at the drake, watching its every move.

She knew she was basically ruining the place more but, if the drake attack, then she didn't the elf or her umbra to get hurt, and it would be easy to protect them, since she was large enough as a dragon. She snarled, baring her rows of sharp teeth, almost in a threatening way, but she won't attack unless the drake did first. She then wondered what type of drake it might be, since there were a ton of different kinds out there.

Kyrus - December 3, 2007 05:38 AM (GMT)
Kyrus whistled sharply and raised his hand, there was a shrill screech and a feathered foor came barrelling through a window to land before the High Elf. Before him stood a large Gryphon, it preened itself and regared Nightwind and the Dark Umbra with cool interest. It looked to where the Drake was coming from and snapped its beak aggressively, Kyrus patted it fondly "This is Solomon," he said to Nightwind "I thought we could use some help." He nodded to her "Correct, some Drakes are intelligent, but others. Well others are shall we say.. a little sadistic," he said and waited for the creature to reach them.

Nightwind - December 5, 2007 12:30 AM (GMT)
She glanced at the gryphon, but paid it hardly any attention. She's heard about them, and that they were quite smart, like an umbra, well, most anyway. She heard the elf tell her the gryphon's name, and about some drakes. She looked ahead, shifting her wings a little, then looked up at the roof. It was falling apart, and a small grin crossed her dragon face, then she turned her attention to where the drake was coming from. She also decided not to say anything about what the elf said, not really thinking it that important.

A drake shouldn't be to hard, and hopefully, it would cause the end of the annoyance that had been happening here, and somehow, she believed it would be.

She wasn't one to really care for places that were in trouble, but she had decided to help with this, even though she didn't really want to, but she knew it was the right thing to do, but she never did that often. She was starting to get impatient, as she listened for the creature.

((Ergh... small...))

Kyrus - December 5, 2007 01:53 AM (GMT)
The Drake finally found them and it burst into the room in all its fanged and taloned glory. It snarled viciously at Nightwind and Kyrus whom it judged to be tresspassing on its territory and hissed aggressively "Intruders die!" it threatened in a gruff voice as it closed on them. Solomon, Kyrus' Gryphon, flared his wings and screeched protectively of its master. "Just you try," Kyrus replied without an ounce of fear in his voice as he nodded to Nightwind in a gesture which said Let's do this

OOC: Gah, sorry so short.

Nightwind - December 5, 2007 02:30 AM (GMT)
She stared at the drake, not afraid. Why should she? She's been up against a lot of different things, like demons, and those she feared. She feared demons, mainly because of what they had done to her, giving her nightmares about them, she always feared them. Her claws dragged against the ground as she waited a moment or so. She heard the drake, and felt a little bad for about to attack him. She, if she could, would just try to scare the drake to make it leave. She didn't want to kill it. It was just trying to live how it should, and to kill it would make her feel guilty.

Right after she heard Kyrus spoke, and leaped forward with her back legs, while her front slashed out at the drake. A snarl escaping her as she slashed at the drake.

She still continued to hope that it would leave after battling them, but she had a bet that it wouldn't leave for a while, it would try to kill them, or be killed, thats what she believes it would try, but one never knew. Maybe it would be smart enough after a awhile to go...? She pulled herself out of her thoughts, and snapped at the drake with her sharp teeth.

Kyrus - December 5, 2007 09:52 PM (GMT)
The Drake snarled as Nightwind's teeth bit into it, it lashed out with its tail in an attempt to trip and hurt her. It lunged at Kyrus next missing him by only the fraction of an inch, leaving massive claw marks in the grounds "Intruders shall die," it threatened and launched another attack which cut Kyrus' arm but failed to do much damage as the Drake was not fully concentrating on him. The Drake hadn't learned the lesson about fighting in anger and it lashed out here and there in an attempt to defend what it believed was its territory. Kyrus lunged, cutting the creataure across the flank with his sword.
