Title: New Moderators!!
Description: Applications

Ornell - November 27, 2007 02:04 AM (GMT)
New Moderator Applications are here! If you believe you would make a good moderator, please post below. Also post why you think you would make a good moderator. It is preferable to have older and more experienced members, but not required. If you have applied before, or in the previous thread, and did not get a reply, please apply again here.

All applications will be taken seriously. A member of the Staff will review posts you have made, IC and OOC to see if you would make a good moderator or not. Please do not PM me or any of the other Admin or Staff about the progress of the applications. That is annoying and lessons your chances of getting it. If you have any other questions, please feel free to PM Ornell about them.

Prerequisites for becoming a Moderator:
1st - You must post often in Imythess.
2nd - You must have a good knowledge of the rules and workings of Imythess.
3rd – You also must remain active

Well... here we go...

1st - You must post often in Imythess.
Though I am online all the time (at least once every day), I don't always post unless I have a topic to reply to. If there is a member that needs help however, I always post a reply in the help section and if someone ever wanted a roleplay... who am I to say no?

2nd - You must have a good knowledge of the rules and workings of Imythess.
In the past one year (2 on the 30th) that I have been on Imythess, I have never ever been warned. The reason? Because I understand the rules and know exactly how many things work on the board. If I don't know, I always ask first rather than close me eyes and hope for the best.

3rd – You also must remain active
I am active thanks to the magic of BT internet at home. I'm always on once before I go to work and about five times after I get home from work, always reading new posts and whatnot.

The reason I think I would be a good choice is because I am always trying to find ways of helping out and contributing to the site. I have made items for a prize giveaway and given out B-day presents to Veronna that, from what I heard, she liked. I am always trying to post new ideas and stuff just to make the site better. As a moderator, I could contriubute more to the site as well as help out the staff-load as well with whatever problems they may have. I've been a moderator on a site before, so I have loads of experiance using all the mod tools, and those who know me know that I am always trying to answer questions in the question forum if I see them unanswered (or if I'm the one answering them).
Also, because I'm in England: that means I am able to do my work whilst you guys are either sleeping or whilst you are at school wishing you were on Imythess. This gives me a great advantage if I see a bot on the loose... since I can always report them to Veronna.
Thanks for reading the application, your bribes are in the post. ^_^

1st - You must post often in Imythess.
When I'm able to get on, I'm usually posting somewhere or another with this character or one of my other two. And even if I'm not, I'm looking over my older posts to see how I can improve on them. And checking the OOC section to see what I can work on.

2nd - You must have a good knowledge of the rules and workings of Imythess.
I've been here two years now, and at least ONE rule change. If I don't know the rule in question, I either know who to talk to, or know where to find it. And this includes everything from actual OOC rules, to character creation.

3rd – You also must remain active
I'm usually on every day, unless I'm sick. And if I'm gone for an extended period of time, I leave a warning, unless there's no way I can, for instance, last September when a virus fried my computer beyond repair.

I've been on Invisionfree since 2005, thanks to a friend of mine, so I know the power board and the moderator panel inside and out. I've also run a couple of boards of my own, though none of them were as successful as THIS one. So I pretty much know the ins and outs of being staff on a site.

While I'm not in England, I'm usually up all night anyway. I'm a night owl, so I don't sleep much. Don't really need to to be honest. And even during the day, I've usually got my IM open and toned so that it'll wake me up when I need to be up.

Also, I've sort of become Imy's Early Spam Warning System on the C-box, warning of spam when I find it. Now if I could just get to where I could DELETE it, then we wouldn't have a problem. The Early Warning System would become unnecessary.

1st - You must post often in Imythess.
I may not make a large volume of posts like some other people do (which is not a bad thing, good for them) but I do make my posts count. I make sure to make my presence known.

2nd - You must have a good knowledge of the rules and workings of Imythess.
I have been a member of Imythess for nearly two and a half years. Throughout that time I have never broken a rule, never been warned, and have always tried to help other members before they made a serious mistake.

3rd – You also must remain active
This is the toughest one for me. Even though I have experience, my chaotic life (which I will not divulge in detail just yet) makes it hard for me to be completely active all the time. I have always come back when inactivity has struck, and I hope those concerned appreciate my honesty in this matter.

This should no longer be a problem, however, due to the fact that I am now working as a PC Support Specialist for an international company. So the internets are all over the place and I have free time often.

Master Ace - February 20, 2008 01:22 AM (GMT)
1st - You must post often in Imythess.
I post regularly on Imythess, though less often when I get swamped. Often time longer posts take longer to dish out than easily made posts around 300 words or less.

As far as Ooc posting goes, I always try to help anyone who posts in the help section and do my best to always give constructive criticism on suggestions posted in the suggestion forum.

2nd - You must have a good knowledge of the rules and workings of Imythess.
I've helped make and remake some of the workings of Imythess actually and have made many tasteful suggestion. I know the rules well and think I may have lended a helping hand there as well, but I don't recall.

3rd – You also must remain active
I'm on pretty much everyday, though I don't post nearly as often. I'm practically what we call a veteran member and I've never been away from the site for long, save the time I had internet issues.

In conclusion, I think I would be a good moderator because I'm on often and always try to help make Imythess better. I always give attention to help forum, though though there aren't as many questions there nowadays. I always read through the suggestion forum and provide constructive criticism. I read through most of the active topics and have found the need to explain the rules to certain individuals on a rare occasion or two.

As far as experience goes, I've helped Admin and mod several sites, one of which was notably active, though I had to leave it because I was not pleased with how most of the admins were doing buisness.

X_X Alright well I'm really bad at these things but since I see most of the spambots and AD suggested applying I figure what the heck. ((I also forget to swich characters a lot so this is actuallyfor Shadeen))

1st - You must post often in Imythess.
I post as often as I can. Usually once a day (when I have topics) unless homework or other matters that take priority get in the way. I am online lurking when I’m not replying.

2nd - You must have a good knowledge of the rules and workings of Imythess.
I’ve read all the rules and I have been roleplaying for a few years now so I know the general rules of god-playing, OoC/IC, and other such things. If I’m not sure of a rule I look over the posted rules or ask someone.

3rd – You also must remain active.
I’m on usually once a day and it’s almost become my second internet home since the page is constantly up. Sometimes when I’m bored at school I’ll browse the page or even write a reply if I have the time to do so.

Lokiri - April 7, 2008 12:08 AM (GMT)

To be honest I've never tried for a Mod position before. I guess there is a first time for everything huh?

1st - You must post often in Imythess.
I can't say I post as much as a lot of the people around here but I am in several rp's and, when it is my turn to post, it never cakes me too long to get one up. My post are also of a substantial length and quality which is another reason why I do not participate in as many rps as others. My posts take more time than the ones that seem more common around here. (No offense to anyone, of course.)

2nd - You must have a good knowledge of the rules and workings of Imythess.
I have been around Imythess long enough to have a good understanding of the rules. Not only that but I have been rping for quite a few years and so am aware of all the terms of fair play when it comes to rping. I also have extensive experience in sparring so I know what is acceptable there as well.

3rd – You also must remain active
As stated before I am in several rps and it never takes me too much time to reply. I also log on daily to ensure that I am not owing someone a post that I am not yet aware of. More often than not I am left waiting so mostly I just cruise around topics and skim the posts of other members.

As for other reasons I am always doing my best to help fellow rpers better their writing abilities. It is my way, when rping with someone, to push them in one ways or another, t o make them think and adapt in various situations so that their character development can be noticed much more prominently. A good example would be the "Echos In Eternity", thread I share with Veronna. In my experience such methods have aided rpers in heir over all writing skill and comfort with their character.

I would like to apply to become a moderator.

I have been a member here for quite some time, despite my most recent lacking of attendance. I will also be retiring as a god, so surely boredom will no longer drive me to tardiness.

I know the rules and have played by the rules for years now.

With the finishing of highschool and the godly retirement, Gregory will once again find excitement in his life. Thus he will be around.

I also have experience with moderating as well as administration and basic scripting.

Eliel - July 8, 2008 02:02 AM (GMT)
After much thinking, i'm applying as a moderator.

I haven't been here for very long, only since september. But otherwise, i've been online nearly every day in the last few months, posting as often as possible and remaining active. Since my joining, i've followed the rules and have gone over them repeatedly if i feel something i've done or am going to do might be against the rules, just to be sure.

I also have some administration experience, but not much.

Yaksha - July 14, 2008 09:30 PM (GMT)
May as well give it a shot.
1st - You must post often in Imythess.
I post essentially on a daily basis, depending on wether or not I have someone to rp with. If I'm on, expect posts or topic requests. I can usually manage about 2-3 posts an hour, if everyone in posting within 5 minutes of the other one.
2nd - You must have a good knowledge of the rules and workings of Imythess.
I have a fair knowledge thus far, if there is something I'm unaware of, I'll catch onto it very quickly. I know and understand most of the rules and workings, and I am quickly catching onto the others.
3rd – You also must remain active
I will rarely, if ever, take a leave of longer than a couple of days without making sure to give word. I am online on MSN nearly all the time, and if I am on, feel free to address me, if any problems arise.

Pros of making me a moderator: I'm quite active, very enthusiastic and creative. I am typically firm but fair, and I am always happy to work with others. I could, for the most part, do a great job taking PMs or complaints from people, and I could easily be a customer service moderator, in a sense.

Cons of making me a moderator: On some occasions, I can be too leniant or too harsh. I rarely allow personal feelings to get in the way of my work, but I can still take things in a less than professional manner. I have been told on some occasions that I am immature. I could quite possibly overlook or completely miss an infraction if it is not brought to my attention. I'm also fairly new to the forum, so I would understand reluctance in accepting me.

Melmoth - August 8, 2008 03:45 AM (GMT)
Thought I'd throw in an application as well.

1st - You must post often in Imythess.

I try to get out a post or three each day, but my muse gives me problems every so often and there's always dalays waiting on posts. But I'm on every day for the most part to at least check in an make sure nobody burned the place down while I wasn't looking.

2nd - You must have a good knowledge of the rules and workings of Imythess.

I know the rules. Trust me on this one. ;)

3rd – You also must remain active

This is my only problem. I belive I have a bit of a bad reputation for disappearing for a year or so due to RL issues. I'm doing my best to overcome it.

I've been here forever and a day, and know the place about as good as a member can, I think. It's been a while since I used the Mod tools, but I can relearn them fairly fast, methinks. I want to help Imy, and being a mod looks like an fair path to walk.

Cordelia Brooks - October 27, 2008 09:33 PM (GMT)
Don't see why I shouldn't give this a shot.

1st - You must post often in Imythess.
Well I don't know about posting, but I'm on literally everyday. I don't think I've missed a single day of being online since I joined, lol. xD I post when I can and I'm willing to RP with new people, answer questions (that I know the answers to haha)... and if I'm totally not posting I'm chillin' in the cbox. :]

2nd - You must have a good knowledge of the rules and workings of Imythess.
I've got a good understanding of the rules. If there's ever anything I'm unsure of I ask before I do it. If I've ever been in "trouble", it's been over something very minor and the problem was fixed soon after I was told. I haven't been here as long as some other people have, but I've been here long enough to know what's acceptable and what isn't and I've had 3+ years of staff experience on a forum of my own and others.

3rd – You also must remain active
As I said, I haven't missed a day of Imy-age since February. I'm willing to help things get done faster on Imythess since I've got a lot of time on my hands and help out with whatever I can. ^^
