Title: Near by...

Aether Draka - November 23, 2007 07:26 AM (GMT)
Too much had been going on and she didn’t really feel like she was getting anywhere. She had her own goals and she couldn’t have the entire Divschatten involved. That would simply be too much. She had things she had to learn on her own and do on her own. So this time she walked out of the guildhall and went to a place she felt she could practice. She had been here before. Seele had helped her practice her summoning spells up here where the river poured down off the cliff. She was on the side of the black river opposite a huge statue. Remembering her friend she realized something. She had completely forgotten to invite him to the party! She had no idea if he would have come, but she really should have invited him. But then again, she wasn’t exactly sure if he was demonic…
There was nothing she could do about it now. Instead she searched for the spot she had used to study before. Clearing the spot of gathered debrigh she paused to look over the spot once more. It was a stretch of sand next to the river just in sight of the falls. The waterfall masked many noises, which is one of the reasons she picked the place. No one should notice her unless she really messed up somehow. It was past midnight though, so she didn’t have much time before daylight would make it easy for someone to see her.
AD settled cross-legged in the sand and placed her green backpack next to her. The bag was much lighter now that she had taken advantage of some sort of magical bag she had come across quite by accident. Now she needn’t dump her bag out to get the book out of the bottom. Instead she only had to rummage past some stuff and stir up a tiny fly dragon from where he was sleeping in the bag. The dragon settled himself under AD’s hair at the nape of her neck before AD settled down with the book she was learning how to summon from laying open in the sand before her. The book just taught her how to make a summoning circle and what to do in order to summon certain creatures. Seele had taught her the best way to cast a summoning spell, and the shadow helped her on their own, or so it seemed. It didn’t take her long to get rapped up in the book. As she read over what she had already learned, again, she also absently undid one of her braids just to braid it anew. Then her fingers found another braid that was starting to tangle and absently unbraided that one too.

Little to her knowledge, he had been following her for some time, but at a safe distance. She was intriguing to watch, but he would make no motions to alert her of his presence. Instead, he would simply linger back, observing from his ethereal form and the shadows that engulfed whatever of his appearance that could be seen. Although he would emerge soon from the sanctity of the shadows only to walk up directly behind her, but to his surprise no sound would signal his approach due to the sound of the raging waterfall not too far off from them. Now standing a few feet behind her, the only way she would be able to even tell he was there is if she was good with her senses.
Often if a body got to close to a person, there would be a barrier where no noise would echo from, which often would give away a person’s position. Also most could just sense the disturbance in the air around them, which would immediately signal to them the presence of another person in their midst. Whether she was as observant remained to be seen, but he would not hide long. With a wave of the hand, his body would materialize wearing his usual black button up shirt and black velvet like pants. Peering down over the woman’s shoulder, his eyes would carefully drift across the book noticing it as a summoning book. This woman was a summoner then…Quite interesting indeed, but what purpose would a summoner server him…? Well, that all depended upon what she could summon and what type of person she had been.
A twisted grin slowly spread across his slender lips, before speaking in a soft dark tone, “When you go to summon a demon, just remember they require a blood offering. Whether it is yours or your enemies solely rests upon your preference. Also, upon summoning the demonic, keep in mind that they do not listen well to weak owners. A strong hand will sway theirs into doing as you command, do not give them a foot to stand upon and let them know who the master is, or you will be consumed by them before you even begin.” Shifting his eyes from the book and towards the woman, he would slowly begin to encircle her, stopping just off to her right flank, “I sense the scent of a demon on you, but the more I’ve smelt you. I realize you are no more than a mixed breed, which is most uncommon to your kind. But you must excuse my intrusion; I am the Enigmatic Knight, Marius Ashounen. Just in case you should have ever forgotten my name, Aether Draka….”
Aether Draka - November 24, 2007 01:01 AM (GMT)
There were some easier ones to summon, but she knew she needed to get more practice with more powerful summoning spells in order to reach her goal. She was still saving her potion of chance in order to give her some extra luck that she would no doubt need when she did reach her goal. Of course her goal scared her, alot… She pushed her fear away and focused back on the book.
She felt her unholy aura stir as she read. Turin sensed it and he roused himself to look about from his hiding place. He saw someone materialize and told AD, ‘A friend.’ Trusting the tiny fly dragon more then she trusted her own conflicting self, she kept on reading. It would be a pain to be interrupted where she was anyways. Silence stretched on for a bit and she was starting to wonder if who ever was there was waiting for her to acknowledge them first. She wasn’t at a good spot to stop though… Then he spoke to her.
“I know that well enough. Angels need a blood offering too…” AD replied absently and held up her right hand to reveal a slightly lighter colored shallow scar across the palm of her hand. Then she got to the end of the page. Her right hand dropped to turn the page and she marked it with her finger. Then she looked up at him with a true and honest smile. “Hello again then, Marius Ashounen. Do you mind if I call you Marius or do you want me to call you something else?” She asked him as she tipped her head slightly to the side. Her braids slipped over her shoulder when she tipped her head.

Slipping his hands within his pants pockets, his head would tilt backwards to cast his gaze up and to the crescent shaped moon that loomed over head. What had his goals in life been and what did he truly seek to accomplish during his stay on these lands? They had been questions he could not easily answer and it would take quite some time to figure out for certain what his purpose had served. But as far as desires went, none really had stood out in his mind as something of high importance.
Perhaps his existence had been more insignificant than he had originally thought, but on the other hand what if he had been carrying out his goal this entire time, but never really knowing it? The idea seemed foolish, but he wouldn’t dismiss it so easily and instead turned his attention from his mind and back to the woman Aether. What DID he want her to call him…? The thoughts lingered like a cloud of fog, heavy throughout the confines of his mind. Speaking in a dry tone, he would answer her, “Call me as you wish, I hold no care or worry as to the name you choose. Just remember that you will be held accountable for whatever you choose. Friend or foe, I have no problem eliminating you or anyone else from these lands…” Darkening his gaze slightly, his eyes would focus themselves upon the woman intently, “Tell me, what do you know about the other Guild Members…? And what of the person leading it, I’ve never seen the person after all, nor have I even heard a name.”
Peeling his gaze from the woman, his eyes would flicker over to his left arm as a faint twinge of pain shot through the length of it. That had only been the start of it though, as a few more jolts of pain resonated throughout the entirety of his arm, causing him to snarl and grasp it tightly with his free hand. Lifting both of his arms in front of him, he would rest his left arm across his chest, while his right continued to hold itself just at the base of his forearm, near the elbow. It was at that point when the blackened hand of his left would bring itself into the view of Aether, as opposed to keeping it hidden by the unbuttoned cuff of his sleeve. While the pain continued to surge through his arm, a twisted look of agony would place itself on his face and a deep red light would pulse faintly from within the confines of his sleeve, barely visible through the dark fabric.
Knowing full well her attention would fall upon odd state of his arm; he would quickly draw her attention away. Speaking through clenched teeth, his voice would become that of a low growl, “Ignore my arm and worry about the questions I’ve asked you.” It sounded much like that of a demand, but that’s because it was. No matter what was wrong, he wanted no one to be aware of what had been happening to him or even involve themselves into his personal business…
Aether Draka - November 24, 2007 05:34 AM (GMT)
He seemed to think about her question for a moment before giving her an answer. She found his reply interesting, more so by the fact she nearly blurted out that she wasn’t from these lands at all. He wasn’t done talking though. He had a question for her now. AD was instantly thrilled. The game of questions! She loved the game of questions! It gave her a way to focus her dire curiosity and direct it so she only asked about one question at a time. The game was easy to play. One person asked a question. The other answered and asked one in turn. Then the first person answered the other’s question and asked another. This continued until one person, usually whomever she was talking to, ran out of questions.
Then she noticed something odd with his arm. A look of concern crossed her features for a moment before his words abruptly drew her attention back to his face. When she looked at his face the concern was gone. A strange serious look crossed her face and she nodded in acknowledgement of the order, not realizing what it was exactly.
“Yes, I don’t know if you have meet everyone yet. Lynthaer was the one who brought us the guild hall in the first place, and he’s one of the best friends I have here on Imythess, besides Turin that is, but still… We once went to the village of Kellen to find out if we could make centaurs. It actually worked too! All we had to do was attack the place and all these warriors on horseback came rushing out. The way centaurs are created is when a warrior and his steed both die in battle; they come back as a centaur. So all we did was try and kill as many as the warriors and their horses as possible before the sun came up. Lynthaer died once and came back as a vampire, so we only had until sunrise before we had to go back to the forest where there are plenty of shadows. I don’t like the demon he is sharing his body with though. If I knew how to separate the demon from Lynthaer, I would kill the thing.” She was glowering at that point, her raw hatred for the demon Lynthaer was infused with was clear. Then she shook her head sligtly and contiued on as if nothing had caused that reaction.
“The others though, Lord Phiros is a good friend. The guards don’t like him much and set a trap for him once. I helped him turn the tables on them. We set a trap for them instead. That was fun. I hate guards. They are like fake warriors, false knights in tarnished armor. I’m not sure if he is an actual Lord though, or of what. I forgot to ask him that. I can ask him if you want. Stallion Thunder I met at the library when I was looking for this book.” She lifted the edge of the summoning book. “He was looking for a way to become infused too, but the book was written in Demonic. I can speak Demonic easily enough, but I’m not too good at reading it. He also needed a victim, so I… well Turin… found him someone who could read Demonic and I left him to his own devices. He says he is a True Vampire. I’m not sure what that means, but I think he was born as a vampire. How someone is born as an undead though, I have no idea. Xion I don’t really understand. I’ve honestly been ignoring him a bit. He knows Lynthaer, so I left it at that. The Guild is really cool though. If you remember, only demonic types of beings can enter the portal in the first place. Well, and those who enter with a demonic being. That’s why Stallion Thunder can enter even though he has no demonic blood. He’s infused with a demon. Why anyone would want to become infused is beyond me though. I don’t like the idea at all.”
She had decided a while ago that having to deal with another mind in the chaos of her current mind would no doubt drive her completely insane if not to her death. Then she remembered it was her turn for a question. “Would you like to meet Turin? He might be able to help you, if you want him to that is…” Her gaze flickered to his arm for a moment, then back to his face very quickly. Uncertainty crossed her own face at that moment and she wished she could take back the question and pick another. The bad thing was she had already let it loose. It was hanging in the air and she could not take it back. She unconsciously gripped a silver ring on a silver necklace around her neck with her left hand as she hoped he would not get angry at her question. She didn’t like people getting mad at her.
Acerbic Dreams - November 24, 2007 06:44 AM (GMT)
Binding his digits tighter around his left forearm, he would continue to listen to what she all had to say. It seemed to be an interesting crew he had decided to join up with, but whether or not they would prove useful to him would remain to be seen. From what it had sounded like, this Lynthaer was someone he may have to meet for himself. The descriptions and stories alone did not do him much use, since the man seemed to have alternate personalities and it meant that there would be a slight chance the two of them could prove useful to each other. As far as Lord Phiros went, there hadn’t been enough to even think about judging an opinion from, which would mean he would be another he would have meet face to face. Next on the list came Stallion Thunder, who had been the oddly dressed man from the party. At first glance, he didn’t seem all too bad, but he really had no time to get to know him all that well and again his thoughts would shift to the next on the list, Xion. A quick first impression had thrown the man from the possibilities in his head, but it would remain to be seen where the man would prove his worth. Or even take Marius up on that offer to see whether or not he truly was the most famous tiefling in the land and why…
A wry grin snaked itself across his visage when Aether had spoken of becoming an infused. It seemed she had been against such an idea and from what he could judge; it had been because of Lynthaer. She was certainly proving to be much more interesting than he had originally thought and perhaps she could hold some important uses for him later, much later. Casting his gaze from the woman and off to the languidly rolling waters of the river not too far off beside them, a few thoughts flittered through his mind. Those thoughts involved the question she had asked him, but it was quite evident as to what his response would be. No one would help him, and by damned if he would offer to accept such help. He had been aware of those who offered their help and it often put him in more of a bind than what was needed, especially when it involved this damned arm of his. Taking a moment, he collected his thoughts and spoke up in a soft eloquent tone, “Your help and anyone else’s help is not needed or wanted. If I did want it, I would ask for it, but I wouldn’t to begin with. As for this Turin, it is up to you on whether or not you would wish to introduce me.”
Turning the attention of his thoughts from her question, he would begin to formulate his own, “First, I would like to know something about you and why you felt this Guild would be a wise decision for someone like yourself to join. After all, you don’t seem to have the dark and cold premonitions that those of the guild seem to hold. At least from my point of view…I could have judged you wrong, which is why I ask.” A faint smile traced his lips, as his eyes adverted themselves from the water and back to her face, only to fixate themselves upon her eyes. For once, he seemed intent upon such a meeting as this where words would grace the air as opposed to blood and foul language. It wasn’t often he shared such pleasantries, but she was different than those of his particular alignment. Which to him, made her seem out of place in this Guild of oddities.
Aether Draka - November 24, 2007 07:19 AM (GMT)
Her spirits sank at his response. That was fine, she told herself, if he didn’t want to know Turin then he didn’t have too. AD knew if she introduced the tiny dragon that he might try to help Marius if he wanted it or not. He said he didn’t want the help, so that meant she would not introduce them to each other. She adored the tiny dragon. He healed her when she got hurt and could defend her also. He had found her the very day she had arrived in Imythess and had never once left her side. Not once.
“I only joined because those I mentioned I count among my friends. I would rather be among those I know then on my own once more. That and they can be a lot of fun sometimes. I’ve found that many people will judge people by their appearance and just because they look like they do doesn’t mean that they are monsters. I’ve seen real monsters and they are not like that. They make better friends then Gregory did anyways. I can’t believe I trusted him… They don’t threaten to kill me or throw false accusations at me. They have never once even hurt me, even though they probably could. Even when Lynthaer was starving and needed blood, he didn’t see me as a source of it. That and I do have demonic blood.” Hidden in what she thought was the answer to his question was the real answer. She hated to be alone and with them she could feel like she belonged. She honestly didn’t care if they were demonic or not.
She looked down and saw the book in her lap. Noting the page she fished out a bit of red ribbon from her backpack and placed it in the book to mark the page before she closed it. Dusting the book off, she returned it to the bag. AD then stood up and dusted the sand off her clothing. When she straightened she still had to look up at Marius. “I’m not going to have a chance to study it seems, so do you mind if I practice summoning? It would be useless to talk and try to read, not including rude. Practicing would be rude too, unless you don’t mind?” She tipped her head to the side once more, as if she was trying to figure him out but wasn’t sure how to go about it.
Acerbic Dreams - November 24, 2007 09:39 AM (GMT)
Friends…What were friends, really? Most people had considered friendship to be a bond between two people that would forever hold should they never succumb to change. It was something he had never witnessed in all of his life and had no interest in acquiring. Since there was no one that could possibly satiate his interests or even share the same beliefs he held, but more importantly he just really didn’t care enough. Loneliness had been the only thing he had known throughout his life and that would be all he would know till the end. No one could or would change that fact, mainly because he trusted no one. Sure, he had people to stand at his side, but there were far from friends. Instead, they were like mindless drones, manipulated into serving him through false friendships in order to acquire his own goal from it. Once they would prove useless to him, he would depart and move on to the next or even destroy them should the option arise.
The glow seemed to fade into nothingness and the pain began to dissolve into a dull ache in his arm. Lightly he would rub his arm to see if any pain would arise from it, before relinquishing his grip upon it and lowering it to his side once more, causing the sleeve to fall down over the blackened hand to shield it from her view. He wasn’t all too sure what the hell caused the pain to arise, but all he knew was that it had become quite the nuisance as of late and it all had started with that battle against the old mage. In fact, he still wasn’t in all that great of condition to even be out here yet, but here he stood.
Silently he watched as she began to pack up her things, thinking to himself the entire time, before speaking in a dry tone, “Personally, I’m not all too interested in killing, or even threatening to do so. If the need for it arises, I will take a life without a second thought, but threatening is not my style. Threats are simply idle, to say you will kill someone is just a farce and a terrible attempt to strike fear in someone’s heart. There are much more creative ways to make a person wet themselves. Perhaps, I’m not your average man or average demon, per se. I’m an outside the box sort of thinker, I like to get the whole picture before I decide to pick out the parts of it I don’t like.” A malicious grin imprinted itself upon his countenance at the shrill thought of his mind games and how they worked. Oh how fun they were; to make a man so angry that he would throw himself into a blind rage and basically lead himself to his own death. Although his favorite type of game was to bend others to his will; to make them do his bidding for him while they had no idea that they had done so. But what made it so enjoyable is that they had a free will, that they had a choice in the matter; other than simply taking over their mind and forcing his will upon them.
When she arose before him and offered him another question, a slight brow would lift itself questioningly. Why did she care if he had a problem with her practicing or not, after all it was her choice not his. Thinking on that for a moment, an idea arose in his head at the thought of summoning. While he couldn’t really summon, exactly, he still had something that could pass as it. Besides, he needed to see if it would finally listen to him this time. Because the last time he had called upon the summon, it seemed to dislike him as an owner, but given some forceful persuasion he was quickly able to sway the things view on Marius. With a wry grin, a lone hand would reach up to his shirt pocket and would pull out a small black chess piece, which oddly enough resembled a horse. Taking a moment, he would glance over Aether briefly, “If you want to practice, then practice against this…” His words would trail off at the second he would flick his wrist and cast the small chess piece out and onto the ground. It would land and tumble a few inches before stopping upright in its stance.
Just then it would begin to dissolve into a fine black mist that would rise upwards and begin to take the shape of a rather large man clad in jet black armor. A large scythe rested within the man’s hands signaling to all, that he was among the Knights of Death. Blood red eyes peered perilously through the small slits in his helmet, intent to find an opponent to fight. Slowly his eyes would settle themselves upon the smaller form of Aether and with a slight grunt; he would prep his scythe for attack. The second he would, he would begin off in a slow methodical walk towards her, hoping to strike up any fear he could before launching his offensive.
Having taken notice of the Black Knight’s intents, Marius lifted his right hand out towards the Black Knight’s back. Only to flick his palm out towards him and begin to gather a deep red energy within the palm of his hands, until it would begin to take the shape of a large ball of fire. In a deep dark commanding voice he would call out to the Black Knight, “Stand down, she is not your enemy. You take one more step towards her and you will have to answer to me again. Remember the last time you disobeyed me…? It would not be wise to cross these roads again.”
The second the Knight would catch Marius’s words, he would fall dead still in his tracks. It had been quite some time since somebody had beaten him as bad as Marius had done that fateful night. No less bad enough to break his binds to this planet before his time was up and send him back to that stupid piece of marble. Oh how he hated going back there, mainly because it was much like confinement and when he was summoned here, he was no longer constricted by such constraints and was in a sense, free. So cross Marius again, he would not, because he wanted nothing more than to remain out here and to be free even for a little while.
Noticing the Knights halted advancement, his arm would lower itself to his side and the energy gathered in his hand would immediately disperse off into the air like it had never existed. Taking his eyes off the Knight for a moment, they would soon find themselves upon Aether, “This would be the second time I have summoned him, but I will not be afraid to put him back. So do not be afraid, I will not allow him to harm you, since you are not my enemy. Now…Summon whatever you wish and pit yourself against my creature of the darkness.”
Aether Draka - November 24, 2007 03:14 PM (GMT)
For a moment, AD had locked her gaze with the summoned knight. That was before Marius spoke to it, which drew her attention back to the man she was standing with. She thought about his words for a moment. AD’s view of who was a friend, and who was not, was nowhere near most people’s. She had been basing it off weather or not they would try to kill her or not when they found out about her mixed blood, but a few she counted as friends still didn’t know about her angelic heritage. She had stopped talking about it for the most part. The only other way she decided if someone was a friend or not, was if they did something she viewed as nice for her without her asking. Weather he knew it or not, by providing her with an opponent for her to practice against, she now counted him among her friends. No doubt it would shock him the first time she would choose to stand between him and a foe and demand that his foe backed down. That was what had caused the trouble between her and Gregory, he didn’t back down but threw accusations. She had a bitter resentment toward him now. She was also still unaware that he was the God of Light now…
“I even told him his threats were useless, as my grandmother has marked my soul to go to her should I die and she has promised I could return in order to enact revenge on my killer. I guess he thought I was afraid of dieing. Of course that means I’m going to Hell when I die, and I will become a full demon. If I know where I will be and what I can do after I die, what is there to fear?” She said quietly in response to his words on killing and threats. It wasn’t a warning the way she said it, just simple fact. She waved her hand dismissively at her words, as if marking them as not important enough for him to respond to. He had already ended the game of questions after all.
Now her attention focused on the summoned knight. She had no fear of the thing. In the darkness of the night or any place there were plenty of shadows, she never worried about getting hurt. The shadows were very good friends of hers, always willing to aid her. They protected her and hid her from those who whished her harm. They were also a very useful way to travel. She hadn’t used them this time though… AD started to circle around the knight, going to her left to do so. She walked around the summoned creature until she returned to where Marius stood, though she was now on his other side. She smiles then and pulled out her wand. She drew her summoning circle in the air very deftly at first, and then when she got to the part she wasn’t so sure of she slowed a bit. While she was doing that the shadows had gathered and drawn a larger version of what she drew in the air on the ground before her. When she finished she looked down at the circle to make sure it was right. She closed her eyes for a moment to compare it with what she remembered and was satisfied with it. Opening her eyes she looked back to Marius. “This is the first time I’ve actually summoned this one. I’ve drawn it before a few times, but never activated it.” She looked back to it and knelt down, resting on her heels as she balanced on her toes, she touched the edge of the summoning circle with the tips of her fingers. “So here goes…” She took a deep breath in and focused on the circle for a moment. Then, she let her magic go, as Seele had told her to do, and it flowed along the summoning circle. It glowed slightly as the magic filled it. Then the shadows began to rise and mass together. AD stood quickly and took a single step back to wait.
The shadows massed together to form a single sleek and deadly figure. Red eyes, glowing with demonic power all their own, looked at AD, then at Marius. AD didn’t hesitate, but immediately pointed behind the shadow that was within the circle. She instinctively spoke Demonic, not noticing she had switched languages. “Behind you. Take him down.” The words seemed to be challenging the eyes. AD didn’t know that by using a language it knew better then the common language, she was proving herself more competent with dealing with the creature then she realized. Then the eyes moved and the shadow revealed itself to be a huge pure black cat, a demonic panther. The creature’s gaze was on the Black Knight now. Weather it knew it or not, when it began to circle it’s foe to study it, it was following AD’s own path when she had done the same thing.
Acerbic Dreams - November 24, 2007 10:10 PM (GMT)
Intent eyes followed the woman as she slowly encircled the knight, wondering what exactly she was planning on doing. It was at the moment she would falter to a stop that he would truly take notice as to what she had been doing and that was to start her summoning. Not many took the time to size up their enemy, but she varied from the rest of them in that way as well. Whether it would prove to her benefit would solely rest upon the dark knight’s tenacity, which was something that interested him greatly. Despite the undeniable defiance the Knight had held towards him on their first meeting, he never got a chance to see what it had been capable of, since their confliction ended on such a short note. Now the Knight would need to prove his worth to Marius, or be damned forever in that hellish prison that had been devised for him.
Adverting his gaze from the Knight and back to Aether, his eyes would watch with a growing interest as to what she would choose to face off with the Knight. When she made her choice and the thing would finally formulate itself into the Material plane, it would appear to be nothing more than a simple panther. Lifting a curious brow, he would slowly step backwards a good couple yards to give the two some distance should the fight become messy. The last thing he needed was to get caught up into a fight he really had no intentions of getting involved in to begin with.
The Knight watched as the panther had been summoned to the Material realm, slightly disappointed by her choice. It would be no matter though, so long as he could win the fight and remain outside of his prison even if it were only for a few days. Tilting his head off to the side, he would watch as the large cat made its way around him in a full circle. It was at that instant when a dark black energy kicked up from his feet in a swirling fashion and bound around his entire form as it wound upwards. The second it would engulf his head in the energy, it would span outwards in a globe like fashion from his body, fueling him with an inner power and ultimately making him stronger than he had. On top of that, he would begin to chant in an archaic tongue and activate his draconic might. Strengthened nearly ten fold, the tall brooding figure would wait for orders from his Master before continuing any further than that.
With a gesture of the hand, Marius would speak out loud and forcefully so the Black Knight would be able to hear him, “This panther will be your enemy for the night. Show me that I have not invested my time into something not worth it.” Folding his arms over his chest, he would watch this fight untwine itself with the utmost of interest. And from the looks of it so far, he was beginning to realize just how much he had under-estimated this Black Knight. It was a dangerous thought to think of what would have happened should he have let that confrontation drag out longer than it had, but it was behind him now.
The Knight bound his digits tighter around the thick shaft of the scythe as anxiety began to rise within him. Oh how he yearned to fight again, to shed the blood of those they presented themselves enemies against him. It was an intoxicating thought, one that had nearly brought him to madness back when he was free to roam these plains. Would he still be able to maintain his blood lust having been confined as a puppet to this man known as Marius, or would he have to give up the slaughter that drove his spirits to the highest peaks of bliss? Deciding to think on it no longer, the man would push forward in a rush of raw power, arms drawing themselves up and high over his head, only to bring them crashing downwards in a forceful fashion. With a loud whistling sound the curved blade of the scythe would slice through the in the air on its descent in a diagonal slash towards the Panther’s torso, threatening to rip it in half should the blade make contact.
Aether Draka - November 27, 2007 09:04 PM (GMT)
Aether Draka never moved away. Instead she watched them aptly. She had never pitted her summoned creatures against other summoned creatures, not on their own at least. They were her frontline fighters when she wasn’t fighting along side one of her friends, as AD always saw herself as support of one flavor or another, even to the creatures she summoned to aid her. It wasn’t that she couldn’t fight on her own. She had plenty of daggers on her, some nearly long enough to count as short swards, nearly. She had been able to use a blade in each hand, but now, now there was a scar across her right hand that made gripping a dagger feel odd. She was starting to favor her left hand over the right one she used to favor… She could still fight with her blades easily though. Raven had taught her those skills, after she had been forced out of the only place she had known as home. She had killed with them too, many times. Now though, now she felt that the guild hall, the Choronzon Gebäude… well, she had her own room there. She had not had a single space she could call her own since she was little and shared a dormitory room with two other little girls who had families and visitors. In that way, the Choronzon Gebäude was her home. In the same sense, the Divschatten was her new family… weather they knew it or not. She really didn’t know anything about having a family though, so she didn’t have anything to compare it too.
As the knight readied himself she saw the panther kept moving and actually veer away a bit, toward the river. Then, just as the knight charged it turned it’s path so it wasn’t where it would have been with a straight on charge. That would have been right into the water, but now the cat was heading closer to the trees near by. Charges always had to be straight or they were compromised, she knew that, unless the attacker had flight… but then it was more of a dive then a true charge. The panther moved back the way it had come and then raised a paw, revealed its claws, and swiped at the air itself. A spell hurtled through the space the demonic panther had created, invisible claws reaching out to slash the foe it was bearing its fangs at.
Almost as in opposition to her summoned panther, AD knelt down slowly as the fight gathered so she was balanced almost precariously on her toes. She then froze in place and anyone looking at her would see the shadows slowly gather around her, casting her first into darkness and then… she simply vanished from sight completely. No form of detection would find her, but in all truth, she was still exactly in the same place she had been. She wanted to do something, to act, but she didn’t know if that was somehow cheating or not. She was musing that over as the conflict before her slowly unfolded.
