(( OOC: Sorry if it's a little sketchy, but I'm a tad off today. ))

The night seemed to bring out all of the beauty that had lain within the city itself. Moonlight splashed across the countless buildings and structures, illuminating them in radiant beauty. It was an awe to behold and something he often than not had witnessed in his time on these lands. The only thing that had rivaled this current moment had been the time he had visited the crystal caves, which held a beauty that many could not rival.

Stepping within the city, he would be greeted by complete and utter silence. The streets had been abandoned; devoid of the life that gave the city the spark that many people were attracted to. No longer were there painters wandering aimlessly about the swarms of people, offering their artwork, nor were there venders calling out to the closest person to hear out what deals they could offer them. Instead only silence coveted the city, which was strange to witness, but at the same time somewhat soothing.

He was exhausted and a nice easy night would be just what he had needed, but what would Ivory do…? Unsure where to go from here, he would simply venture forward through the vacant streets until he had reached the center of the town where a large fountain had resided. Relinquishing his grip from Ivory’s hand, his gaze would befall itself upon the statue that lain within the fountain walls and spewed forth water from its intricate structure in what would seem an endless cycle. Taking a seat upon the wall of the fountain, he would motion for her to take a seat next to him before speaking, “I’m sorry, I guess we didn’t make it here when I had promised you. But I have been meaning to ask you…” Faltering with his words, his eyes would scan across the soft contours of her face, noticing how much they had been accented by the gentle caresses of the moonlight. To put it lightly, she looked beautiful standing there in the light of the moon, but he would quickly advert his eyes down to the stirring water within the fountain, before working the question in his head, “You said your friends are human, while I’m not certain how human’s live their life, I would assume it would be rather hectic. Are you even sure they would have time or would they be too caught up in their own things?”

Mulling over his words for a moment, he quickly regretted them, “I’m sorry, it’s not my place to say such things.” Laughing inwardly at his own stupidity, he wondered what she had exactly thought of him. By no means was he making a very good impression and it was only getting worse as the time went on, but he couldn’t help it. Drawing in a slow deep breath, he would exhale briefly before speaking, “I do think I could probably help you too, or possibly direct you to a few who could maybe help you. I know a few Gods and Goddesses, one being my sister. But I’m not so certain on what they could do, so the only other person I could perhaps think of is a man known as Master Ace at the Academy of Magic. I’ve never met him, but I have heard his name mentioned on a few occasions from some of the townsfolk. Perhaps I could go with you, if you would want me to, that is. But that would be another day…which reminds me, what do you intend to do now that the night has fallen?” He was waiting for her to say that she would like to turn in, knowing full well that it would only to get away from him. He didn’t blame her of course, he wasn’t exactly being that easy to speak with.

The city was quiet. It was night, so there was no surprise with that. She was lead before a large fountain. It was only then that her hand was relinquished. Her gaze fell on the fountain. A slight smile touched her face as she watched the water tumble down. Ivory could see his form, but not much else. He motioned before talking. It took her a moment to interpret it. She stood for that moment, waiting for the question. When he started to apologies she sat down and waited for him to finish. Her fingers gripped the edge loosely. Another question came but she decided to answer the first one first.

“I have no idea if they can or will help. I don’t even know if they are alive. I’ll just have to ask. I’ll never know if I never ask.” She did smile then. It was to herself. That was one thing she had learned. Questions were never bad as long as you didn’t really expect a specific answer.

She didn’t want to answer his last question. Honestly she wanted to go find a safe place in the woods away from people she couldn’t even see. That was a horrible idea. Leaving right after they got here would be an insult too. Ivory took a moment to think about his suggestions. They were good ideas. Ivory wondered why she hadn’t thought of them herself. She didn’t know much about deities. So, she skipped over that for a moment. Instead she thought about going to the Academy of Magic. “The Academy sounds like a good idea.” She nodded, “I would like to try and find either Yul or Akilan first. Even if this Mater Ace doesn’t know what to do, a place like that would have a library. Someone could have written something about it. Or I could try and find Koray. If I can’t find them in a day or two I wouldn’t mind going to the Academy of Magic. I don’t know where it is, so if you know I wouldn’t mind not going alone.” She sighed. Then she tried to look at him by looking past him at a building. She didn’t know if it was any help or not. She had a question of her own to ask. “I’ve heard about Gods and Goddesses, but I’ve never met any. How can your sister be one? Who is she?”

The soft trickle of the water was the only noise that had come to grace his ears, but it would be quickly washed away by the sound of her voice. It was pleasant to hear her talk, since the silence seemed so droll most of the time. Silence, it had been a thing he was all too common with and something he quickly didn’t want to go back to. When she would finish speaking, he would nod his head slowly before allowing a few words, “Asking never hurts…” Though, that wasn’t always true, because a lot of the time it had hurt. Perhaps it was just because the answer that would come was something least expected or even wanted…

Peeling his gaze from the trickling water along side of him, and towards the woman before him, a faint smile would cross his lips. It came as a relief to him that she still wished to have him in her company even after he had served his purpose to her. When she finished speaking, a few thoughts jumbled about his head, “I’m not too sure how extensive the library there would be, since it’s not all too big of a place and it’s more centered around magicks. But that may just be what you’re looking for, who knows. Although, if that doesn’t do it for you, I would suggest the library in Taras, but I’m hoping it won’t take that much time to find the answers you seek…”

Rising forth from the ledge of the fountain, he would take a few steps away from it before stopping, “Gods and Goddesses are the protectors of these lands. They are granted the power they attain in order to do so, hence the term ascending to Godhood. Consider them the chosen protectors and the ones most fit to do so. My Sister was among these chosen and while I envy her greatly, I know that I am nothing less than she is. I am a protector of what I feel is right and I will stand by that belief so long as there’s a breath I am still left to take. Sure, I may not be able to accomplish what a God may be able to, but I don’t think it really matters…” Lifting his gaze up from the building before him, they would befall themselves upon the large glowing orb of light above them. The moon had held such a radiant beauty, but there were a lot of things that had rivaled it.

Speaking softly, he would continue, “It’s been a long time since I’ve last seen or talked to my Sister. Perhaps my visit to her temple is about due…But that will be later.” The words he spoke weren’t really meant for anyone in particular, but merely his thoughts projected through his mouth. Drawing his gaze down and over his shoulder, his eyes would flitter across her visage for a moment, “You wish to know her name, hmm…? She is Meera Skeirs, the Goddess of Water. A most fitting position for her if I do say so myself…” A soft smile graced his countenance at the thought of his sister, but it would slowly fade.

Gracefully turning to face Ivory now, a simple brow lifted itself in question, “It’s quite curious to have someone ask me such a thing, but I will not ask further on your reasoning. Though, there is one thing that bothers me…What are you exactly….? I know you’re an elf, but there are many types of our kind around.” Leaving the question stir in the air for a moment, he would casually make his way back to the fountain only to stop a foot shy of it. Taking a single hand, he would reach into his arm and carefully pull out the black furred rabbit Geist from its confines. Placing the rabbit gently down upon the ledge of the fountain, he would move beside it and take a seat once more. Looking from the rabbit and the woman, another question would place itself at the tip of his tongue, “You said earlier, you could not see I or my companions. What is it like to be unable to see what you wish to see…? Or does such a feeling no longer grace you? Answer my questions if you wish, I will not hold you to it.”

Meanwhile, Geist had begun roaming the length of the ledge, first sniffing his Master before turning his attention to the water. For a long while he stared at the mirrored reflection of himself, curious that there could even be another rabbit here, but he would pay it no more mind. Instead, his attention would drift to the woman across from his Master and begin making his way towards her. Taking a moment, the rabbit would begin sniffing the woman.

A soft laughter would sound from his lips as he watched the curious rabbit, “Don’t worry Ivory, it’s just Geist. You may pet him if you wish, he’s harmless.”

Ivory - November 23, 2007 05:51 AM (GMT)
She had lost track of his actual figure when he moved. So instead she followed his voice and the sounds of his shoes on the cobblestones. She didn't recognize the name. Ivory had never been to interested in Gods and Goddesses. They had never seemed to play any sort of a role in her life. His explanation made a lot of sense though. When he came back she attempted to see him again. He moved again though and she lost sight of him once more. Finding that increasingly annoying she closed her eyes again. Ivory didn't see him sit down. She did hear him though. When she felt something lightly brush her hand she turned her hand over for who ever Geist was. He didn't seem to do much beyond tickle her hand with his whiskers. She slowly moved her hand until she could tell where the rabbit was. Also that it was a rabbit. The fact that it too had wings was interesting. Also useful.

She thought about his questions. He did have a few. Ivory began to wonder why he was asking them. They didn't seem to be too much trouble to answer. So she answered them anyways. She opened her eyes again before talking.

“I’m an Avorial Elf. There are few of us left. My mother said it was because of our wings. To protect us she wove a spell to hide both of our wings. When I’m not using them they are simply gone. It’s not just from sight either. I can’t even feel the weight of them. I’ve gotten used to that, but my sight…” She trailed off. “It’s something much more recent. I’m not used to it at all. It frightens me some. Other times it simply makes me mad. There are shadows. Vague shapes moving about in a gray mist.”

(( OOC: Sorry, short and really delayed. ))

It would seem she wasn’t as blind as it had seemed, since she could see a few select things, regardless of the fact that they had merely been shadows. It was something he had never heard of happening before, but anything was possible. At least from what he knew anyway. A long time ago, he had known a man by the name of Aiden. A blind man who didn’t seem all to blind by the way he had moved or even fought. An elegant grace the man had possessed; one that even those of the seeing eyes could not rival. Truly, it was a spectacle to see, but it had been quite some time ago since he last had seen Aiden. And he was almost certain he would never see him again.

Pulling his attention from his thoughts and back to Ivory, he would carefully listen to her answers. An avorial elf, something he had never really came across before, but was interesting none the less. Flickering his eyes across her entire body briefly, his attention would break and lift itself up to the full moon above them, “I’d imagine so, not being able to see what you want to see. I couldn’t imagine what something such as that would be like.” A light sigh escaped his parted lips, as his eyes lowered back from the moon and upon her, “Are you sure you’ll be fine on your own? Do you have a place planned where you’ll sleep for the night? Because I think it’s about time I turn in for the night, how about you?”

Ivory - December 4, 2007 02:55 AM (GMT)
She took that as a sign that he wanted to depart and she stood up. She knew about where he was from the sound of his voice. Ivory looked that way and offered him a smile. "Thank you for you're help, even if I was unaware that I needed it at the time. I can see the buildings well enough. They aren't alive. I'm sure I can find my way about as long as they haven't rearranged the entire city on me!"

Then she paused. She still wanted him to know she wouldn't mind going to find the Academy of Magic and this Master Ace he had mentioned. It seemed like a good plan. Ivory really had no idea where the place even was. After a moment she spoke again. "So you don't mind meeting up with me again in a few days to find the Academy of Magic? I really want to see if any of my friends are around still first. Is that alright?"
