Kli sighed as she lugged a large bundle down the rocky pathway through Norwood forest. It had just been another day, but for her it was a tiring day to say the least. Not only did she have to put up with a child who kept biting holes in her things, but she had to carry a large load all the way to the other end of the forest. She finally stopped, putting down her bags of magic potions and spells, and finally taking a seat under a large oak tree that had a trunk as big as a house. "Ah.." That's much better.." She mumbled, looking to the bundle in her arms. A small hand peaked through the blankets and grabbed onto her finger, putting it into his mouth and sucking on it. "How can I ever get rid of you? You're just too sweet.." She said with a small laugh, taking her finger from the toddler and putting him down on the ground. The child immediately started to wander along the well ridden road, curiously inspecting everything that was around him. His red eyes seemed to want to chase after every fly and every bug that crossed his path. She shook her head a bit, wrapping her cloak upon her lap and fumbling through her bag. She had found the boy not too long ago abandoned behind a local tavern, but she did not find even a trace of his parents.

She had went to the academy of arms to see if there was any chance that they could be located, but she only found out that he might not have parents in the first place. So, now, she was stuck taking care of the teething baby. And, though she loved the child, the boys powers seemed to multiply every day, which made her worry about the safety of imythess. She could not kill a child, but what if the unthinkable happened? What if the child grew up the wrong way? She wouldn't stand for it, and the child had already come to know her as his mother, so now she would just have to deal with it. Taking out a small loaf of bread, she wolfed it down hungrily, keeping one eye on the child. Finishing up the bread, she slowly stood, walking over to the baby who was quickly chasing a beetle on all fours. "Come here.." She said with a sigh, quickly picking up the child. He kicked and screamed, wanting to go and play with the bug. "Come away, aren't you hungry?" She said softly, walking over towards her back once again.

(( OOC: Kind of a bland post, sorry about that. x.x; ))

The sun had gradually begun to set itself above the crest of the thick foliage above them, causing streams of lights to flitter through the tiny spaces that littered the canopy. Giving it an overall magnificent affect to those who would pay attention, which was what made this forest so majestic to him. It was like a home away from home and a place he often enjoyed staying. Friends weren’t something he came by often, but the animals did well to fill that void. They were his companions and all the friends he ever needed, but just once he would like to know that someone else had cared, at least other than his sister.

Heaving a sigh, his movements would come to a steady halt and his mind would stray further into the ramblings of his thoughts. Only to be quickly interrupted by the tiny dragon that would brush off against his right cheek as it fluttered just past his head. A startled look took upon his face, as his emerald eyes darted off to his immediate right and upon the tiny dragon that hovered off a good couple of feet. Releasing another wayward sigh, he would begin to speak, “I’m sorry Cypher, I guess today’s not a good day for me. I know, I know, you were eager to get out and start training again, but what good is it if I’m not even a challenge for you?” The dragon fluttered in place for a moment, before flying over to his Master’s shoulder and perching there. Varonen smiled faintly and patted the tiny dragon on the head, “There’s no need to worry, little guy. I’m fine, it’s just…” His words would trail off into the silence around them, before he would pick up on them again, “Just never mind…Tomorrow, I promise you.”

The dragon screeched softly and lightly nudged its masters ear with its muzzle in response. But finding no return of affection, the dragon would simply lie down and rest its head along the crook of Varonen’s neck.

Not even noticing the Dragon’s movements, his eyes would flicker across the countless trees, before landing upon a small black rabbit who had been munching upon some fine greens. With a smile, he would lift his hand to his mouth, only to place his index and middle finger between his lips and blow. The whistling sound that came forth from his fingers seemed to cut through the silence of the trees, and cause the rabbit to startle in response. Gesturing a hand towards himself, the rabbit would respond and head towards its Master. Again the smile would break across his visage, “Let us go, Geist. We need to head to Kellen by nightfall anyway. Might as well get a nice start, hm?” Wasting little time he would turn and began in the direction that Kellen had resided. With each tree he would pass along side of, his hand would reach out to meet it and run the tips of his digits along its strong rigid trunk, enjoying the scintillating feel that it would bring to his flesh. Though, it would be short lived as his hands would once more part from it, only to meet another. But before long, a voice would catch his elfish ears, notifying that there was another close by. Against his better judgment, he would proceed towards it out of curiosity, only to find a woman and a young child. Slipping behind a large oak tree, his eyes would carefully follow the woman, until she would come to a halt. Taking in a deep breath, he would slink out from behind the tree and begin his way cautiously towards the woman.

Upon drawing nearer towards her, he would falter in his steps, keeping more than enough space between her and him. Placing a hand upon the hilt of the massive blade at his side, he would begin to speak in a soft melodic tone, “Hello there, I hope I haven’t disturbed you any. My name’s Varonen Skeirs and I was simply passing by until I saw you here.”

Kli sat the child down with a small smile, offering him small peices of bread to eat since he couldn't eat anything too hard or too much of it. The child ate it quickly, ending up eating more than half the loaf. She looked at him with wide eyes, surprised that he could eat that much. Laughing, she shook her head slightly and watched as the child wandered into her bag and started to play with the bottles of potions that she had kept. Figuring that he wouldn't get into too much trouble with the potions that he had in his hands, she walked over a few feet and started to practice using her magic simultaniously with her sword. This was the hardest thing she had ever done so far, and just the fact that she had not yet mastered it completely had surprised her. She smirked, closing her eyes and chanting a spell (Major Illusion) that would make an illusion of an opponent. She opened her eyes and went to work, fighting with the illusion that she had set before her. Of course, she couldn't get hurt by it since it was only an illusion, but she could have someone to practice against and dodge while she was doing magic. They started fighting right and left: dodging, jabbing and slashing until Kli was laying on the floor panting from having practiced way too much. The child crawled over to her and smiled with his sharp fang-like teeth, pulling on her hair slightly as she laid there limply.

"Now, now, child.. I know you like hair but.." She started to say as the boy hastily stuck a strand of hair into his mouth and started chewing on it. She gave a big sigh, closing her eyes lazily. "As I was going to say.." She looked over to him once again. "Hair is not for little mouths.." She laughed softly, pulling the hair from him. He gave a pout, pretending to cry as if she had stolen all of his joy away from him. Kli slowly sat up with a small laugh as she watched the child suddenly being distracted with a butterfly that had been flying around. Kli reached out her hand towards the butterfly, letting it land on her finger. "Look.. It can fly.." She said, pretending to be amazed. The boy tried to get up stretching his hands out in search of grabbing onto the bug, but in the end it flew off. He pouted a bit, watching it fly away as he put his fingers into his mouth and laid down on the grass. "Say goodbye.." She chuckled softly, before footsteps entered her line of hearing. Her face suddenly turned grim, grabbing her sword and sheathing it. "Stay put.." She whispered to the child, using her vision (Farsight) to see into the distance. A man had come into view. She teleported to a shadow that was behind him, ending up as a slight blur as she ran up behind him and put her sword on his shoulder, her eyes turning to slits. She didn't trust anyone when it came to protecting the child.

"What do you want?" She said hastily before hearing his name. She lowered her sword slightly, searching for his alignment (Detect Alignment) and finding that he probably wasn't much of a threat towards the child. She finally sheathed her sword, walking past him toward the child once again and picking him up. She glanced behind her, wondering what he had been doing. Most people who were traveling would avoid at any cost the sight of a stranger. After all, you never know what kind of crook or demon you might run into. "Don't worry about it.." She said simply, glancing down as she turned her body towards him. The child took her hair once again into his fingers, playing with it. "I'm Kli.." She said simply. "What are you doing here anyway? You shouldn't be looking for strangers in the woods you know.."

Using his heightened sense of hearing, he could tell the woman’s movements, but had made no motions to stop them as the blade presented itself upon his well armored shoulder. Glancing off to his shoulder, he eyed the blade for a few moments, until it had departed from his shoulder and the woman continued off in front of him and towards the small child. Her words seemed to draw his attention up from the child and back upon her, as she had asked her questions.

He wasn’t looking for strangers’ per-say, but more so for a certain select few that were harboring themselves in the forest, intent to hurt those passing through. Oh how he hated those who would use such a place to cause such heinous acts of violence, and he had intended to stop them before they would get their chance, but it had been becoming a burden trying to find out where they had been hiding and thus he would give up the hunt, at least for the time being. Which was the entire reason he had been out here in the forest, but having come up empty handed, he had hoped to head for the Village of Kellen in hopes of helping out a few of the villagers there.

Lifting a slight brow, he would study the child in her arms briefly, trying to place features that could possibly resemble the other, but finding few to none. It obviously wasn’t her child, but whose was it… and why did she have it…? Returning his gaze to hers once more, he would offer a faint smile, “There’s a reason I’m out here, Kli. But I suppose you would think of me foolish if I were to tell you why. So I will spare you such information and tell you that I was actually on my way to Kellen when I ran across you and that child. Now I see why you reacted so brash to my appearance, but you have nothing to worry about…Though…I do have a question for you. The child is not yours correct…? I just have to satiate my curiosity, if you don’t mind.” A brief smile washed across his countenance, before his eyes drifted down to the child once again, “He certainly likes your hair it would seem, does he have a name…?”
