Title: Why Are They Dancing?
Description: [Open!]

Fehade - October 31, 2007 12:24 AM (GMT)
Fehade was here, in Balefire. He liked the place, it was opened, just waiting for him to wander in, though, he thought these people fools for opening their gates, it was like opening a playground for all demons. He remembered, as he leaned against a wall, watching people dance, and laugh, and have fun with lovers, and friends. He remembered his family was like this. Everyday of October his family always danced in this time. It was a fun, festive time, with the entire family, who were all somehow demon related, except Zehavya. He remembered one day, the demon-infuses wanting to burn the Aasimar. It was Fehade who stopped them from doing so, he protected his half-sister from them. Soon after, Zehavya disappeared, and Fehade was banished from the family, thrown into the street, a disgrace among them.

Slowly, Fehade looked down at his left arm, sighing silently. He had one thing to remind him of that. A brand of a demon skull. He could never go back, even if he wanted to. He looked up again. Since his hood was down, his features were clear. Glowing red eyes, that were almost cat-like, and creamy skin, and black spiked hair, hiding the studs of horns, they were invisible among the spiked hair, the only way to see them, if you look close enough.

He clenched and unclenched his hands. Slowly, he got more and more annoyed with the dancing. He hated cheerfulness. Why should they be happy when there are so many dangerous things to fear out in the world. People walked by, always seeming to look twice, because of his red eyes. He wondered what they thought of him. Whenever one looked back at him, he would shoot them a cold glare. He didn't liked to be stared at all the time.

((OOC: Shortness... darn...))

Ornell - November 5, 2007 05:11 AM (GMT)
She had not been really planning to be visiting at this time, but she was not about to turn back from her own reasons for wanting to explore this material world… Imythess… had to offer. She shrugged as she walked down the festive streets, rolling her shoulders back and automatically flexed her wings. Her eyes darted around the place. How was she supposed to find a place like the Wren’s Nest among all this chaos? She was tempted to bring a little more light to this City of Lanterns.

Annoyed with the mix match and the fact no one seemed to have even greeted her, she made a fist. A fireball curled in her palm and she took in a breath through clenched teeth as she scanned the area for a good target. Her eyes burned with a light of their own, like caught embers. She was out of her element here and was on edge. At least it wasn’t completely bad…

Then, her glowing red eyes meet the sight of another pair of glowing red eyes. They belonged to a man leaning up against the wall not far from where she had stocked into the area. She paused, not sure why, and the fire in her curled hand cooled. For a moment she simply stood where she was. Then a finger brushed her belt and she rounded on the thief. It was easy enough to catch them with her coin purse in the stranger’s hand.

“Mine.” She growled, bringing the heat in her to the surface of the palm of her hand. The poor thief yelled and dropped her coin purse in her other, waiting, hand. She let the thief go with that, knowing that if she dealt with the offender with how she felt now there would be nothing but a cinder mark. Ornell forced herself to turn away from the thief and start moving again.

Fehade noticed nothing at the moment, he looked down at the ground, eyes closing half-way, but snapped open again, as a brisk breeze hit him, making him shiver. Cursing silently, he pulled his cloak about him tighter, mumbling under his breath. When he looked up, he saw a woman who also had red eyes. He stared a moment, curiosity in his, they glowed a little brighter they seemed, but then dimmed. He saw that she was looking at him also, but then a thief tried to get her coin purse, but the boy didn't get far before the lady caught him. A smirk flashed on his face a moment.

After that the woman moving again. He looked away a moment. To him, she seemed to be elven, but he had never seen a elf with red eyes. He slowly turned, and followed the lady a moment, the strode to her side.

"Hullo... I'm a little curious..." He said, then stopped a moment, glancing at her ears, seeing they were pointed, and knew then she was a elf of some sort. "I've just never seen, or heard of a elf that has red eyes." He said. It sounded sort of a pointless thing to say, but his curiosity can get at him at times. He hovered near her, waiting to see if she will respond, or get annoyed by him, either way, he really couldn't care much.

Fehade glanced about, as more people glanced his way. He muttered something under his breath again, still annoyed with the celebrating. He glared at a passerby, who stared at him a moment, and the elf.

((OOC: Sorry, its a bit smaller then I wanted...))

Ornell didn’t stop moving when a voice asked her a question. She couldn’t afford to stop or she knew something would burn. The voice that spoke to her was next to her. She chanced a glance and was actually relived it was the man who also had glowing eyes. He had his hood up now… A focus, she had found something to focus on. She honestly didn’t care what he asked, as long as she had something to focus on among all this chaos. At least she was far enough from Lady Era to not feel claustrophobic atop of all of it. She took a deep breath, still feeling on edge, but decided to use the question as a focus anyways…

“I was an elf, but I don’t think of myself as one any more.” She flexed her wings slightly and glanced at him with what was supposed to be a welcoming smile but probably held a lot of her annoyance. “I didn’t used to have wings either. Too bad they are useless for flight.”

Looking at him she wasn’t sure now why she was talking to him. It took her a moment to realize she was using him as a focus again as the chaos around her started to grate on her nerves once again. For a moment her anger bubble too close to the surface again, causing her eyes to glow once more. She looked away and saw someone looking at them and had her eyes glow brighter before she had too look back to the stranger hoping she could put a leash back on her emotions. She wouldn’t let her emotions rule her, she wouldn’t. She wouldn’t be like the other Fire Deities she had heard about. She would rule the fire and not let it rule her.

He followed her as she continued to walk, and cast a curious glance at her wings. She didn't consider her an elf anymore. He cocked his head. Already knowing what she was going to ask. He found her a bit interesting, though, he hardly ever did, but some things could be worth investigating, even if it isn't what he does. He destroys, thats what he likes to do. He wondered what type of elf she was, when she did consider herself one.

"What do you consider yourself now? If not an elf?" The tiefling asked, curiosity edged on his words. He noticed her eyes glowing brighter sometimes, wondering why. He glanced behind his at the crowds of dancing people. Glad he wasn't watching them still from the wall he had been leaning on. He had been waiting for something interesting to happen, but nothing happened, and then this odd girl and showed up. He guessed this was one of his days when he was more curious about things, normally, he wouldn't care if she was a little odd.

He looked ahead again, waiting for an answer. He shivered again, though, this time not feeling cold, just the urge to kill something. He always found that fun, good way to entertain, well to him it was, and he was starting to feel bored. And the annoying bards, and noises were continusly getting on his nerves.

((OOC: Sorry, been a while since I managed to get a reply up...))

((OOC: it's not a problum! ^_^))

She stopped walking at his question, closing her eyes for a moment. He was asking herself what she considered herself. There was a distinct difference between what she thought of herself and what she was. But talking to him was helping her focus some. She still wanted to gain some control of the chaos here. There was ways to do that too, and if he was calming her down enough to be sensible again she really should repay him somehow. That was fair. After a moment of thought she took a breath and opened her eyes once more. “Fire. I consider myself fire. My name is Ornell, and that translates to Ash. Why I consider myself fire is because of who I am though and not what I consider myself. Because of who and what I am I should have never have come here. Shadows don’t welcome flames, but a city called the City of Lanterns…”

She fell silent and set her ember eyes on the strange for a moment. Her voice was soft when she spoke next and the cheerfully glowing laterns near by seemed to burn brighter for a moment. “I am the Avatar of the Goddess of Flame.” Her eyes burned brighter for a moment as a slight smile tugged at the corner of her mouth. “Is there something I can do for you?”

Ornell had not been sleeping well and Era herself didn’t sleep. Being weaker then the Goddess and needing sleep that she wasn’t always being awakened by nightmares was probably part of the problem. She needed to do something though, and burning the entire city and forest down would no doubt make her enemies she didn’t wish to have. So why not ask the man she was using to gain back her focus for some sort of task. She had made no obligations to do anything after all, so she could always refuse.
