Title: A Job
Description: [Open!]

Fehade - October 28, 2007 02:52 AM (GMT)
The dark figure seemed unfriendly. Red eyes gleaming out from under the hood of the black cloak. Fehade walked swiftly in long strides towards the tavern, where he was to meet someone. He walked unto the street that held the tavern, and basically ran to it. Opening the door, he right away gave off an unholy Aura, making those who could sense it shivered slightly. He walked to a dark corner, where a man sat, looking to be noble, wearing fancy clothing. The tiefling frowned, then slowly, a smile curled onto his face. The noble threw a bag of gold at him, who caught it right away, and tucked in under his cloak.

He sat down at the same table as the noble, grinning wide.

"How can I assist thee?" He asked, his voice a cold hiss. His hand slithering over the hilt of his blade. He waited for the man to speak, who was looking about the room a moment, then leaned forward.

"There is a lady, who has been causing some trouble here in Taras. See to it, that she is terminated." The noble said, in a gruff whisper to the tiefling, who frowned slightly.

"You understand that I am no assassin?" He said, basically as a statement. The noble laughed.

"Yes, but you are a warrior, and magic-user. I'm certain that you will be able to handle it without a problem." He said. Then, the noble stood, and a guard who was not to far away, walked to the noble, and they both left, the guard following the noble out.

The tiefling sat down, drumming his fingers on the table, as he thought it over. He took out the pouch of gold, and looked through it, and there was a piece of scrap paper on it, that had directions to the place. he studied it a moment, before tearing it to little pieces, and let them fall to the floor. He put the bag of gold back, and gestured for a serving maid to come over.

"Get me some wine." He snapped. He looked away, as she went to get the wine he wanted. She soon came back, and gave it to him. Fehade took a deep drink from it, savoring the delicious taste of wine. He looked up at the other people who were in the tavern, taking one glance atthe bard who was telling a tale with songs, and then all the drunken people, and some that were somber. Then looked at some who were playing games. human and elves... disgusting, he merely thought, leaning back in the chair.

Rothardan - October 28, 2007 06:41 PM (GMT)
((I smell a good plot here...))

It was nighttime in the grand city of Taras and lights were being snuffed out for the night. Doors were being shut and curtains were being closed. It just seemed to be one of those days where everyone wanted to be inside before the moon begun to shine. Rothardan was never one of those people, for the night-time was the day when all sorts of people began to come out and cause a ruckus. The sound of Alataline's hooves clopping against the cobbled streets echoed throughout the area and the guards looked at Rothardan, nodding in respect when they saw who was entering the city. Rothardan had been here many a time and had even came joint first place in a tournament that was held in Taras a few years back. The only reason that they couldn't decide the winner of the so said tournament was because he and Kona had both knocked themselves out by punching each other in the face and thus, it had been decided it was a draw.

Rothardan smiled at the thought before getting of his horse, stroking it's mane in compassion. Alataline was Rothardan's second companion throughout the whole of his adventures, his newest companion. Alataline neighed and then began to walk off away from Rothardan, before fading away... for that was the power of Ethereal Horses, being able to transport themselves to the realm of Celestia where they could recharge and rest themselves. Rothardan walked away and found the Song and Elves Tavern, entering and placing 10 gold coins down ordering a room and some orange juice (Rothardan never drank). It was then that the Paladin's detect evil sense began to twinge inside his head, warning him of someone of bad intentions that was within here. Rothardan looked around to see who it could be that would trigger his senses, looking in all the nooks and crannies of the pub.

Rothardan then turned back to his drink, not wanting to bring attention to himself at all. If someone evil was in here, he would have noticed Rothardan in his plate-armour by now. Rothardan decided to wait before trying anything, for starting a fight would endanger innocent lives. So the Paladin drank his orange juice silently and waited for this person to reveal themselves, for it would happen soon... very soon.

Fehade - October 28, 2007 11:37 PM (GMT)
Once more, he took a drink of wine, then perked up slightly, and cocking his head slightly towards the counter, noticing a man clad in armor. He frowned, slightly annoyed, somehow knowing that the man may cause some trouble. Then, a new, cruel smile played on his face. The more trouble the funner. He put that thought out of his mind for a moment, and turned to look at the wine, and drinking the rest of it in one gulp. His hand hovering over his katana again, then put his hand on his knee.

After a few moments, Fehade stood, and kicked the chair back, and drew his cloak about him, concealing his features, except the glowing red eyes. He made his way to the counter, pulling a few gold coins out and putting them on the counter in front of the bartender. "I want a room." He merely said, his voice still cold.

The man took the coins, nodding.

Smiling slightly, Fehade turned from the counter, and went to the stairs, walking up the stairs, and to a room that the man told him he could get. The tiefling slipped through the door. He then, went to the window, that was wide. He opened it up all the way, and looked out, the calm breeze hit him in the face. He liked the wind, it was comforting a little. He slipped out of the window, sitting on the sill, bent over, legs dangling, then, pushed himself out, and fell to the street, hitting the ground on his feet crouched over. The only reason he did that, was to hopefully throw anyone off, if they tried to follow, but he doubted anyone would.

He hoped, that after he finished his job, with no complications, he would go back and get some sleep, but that only matters if it goes smoothly. He strode swiftly where the directions told him, passing a window to the tavern, but he ducked out of the way, then he continued to the house.

Rothardan - October 29, 2007 09:27 PM (GMT)
Rothardan was still sipping his orange juice silently, hoping that the person who was in here would show his/herself. In the end, someone came too close and Rothardan's senses went off again... and so did his detect alignment sense. This person was pure evil, through and through, and they were also a tiefling... which made things even more complicated. The tiefling ordered a room, and after he went off, so did Rothardan. The Paladin made sure to order the same room as the tiefling and when the door was shut, Rothardan immediately stood up and went into his room. Any moment later and Rothardan would miss the sounds of footsteps hitting the cobbled streets below... but because the Paladin had entered the room at just the right moment, he could hear it.

Now the Paladin needed to be careful, because if he was seen... it would all be over already and Rothardan would never find out what was happening. So the Paladin used his ears instead, and when he could hear the footsteps move away from the building... he made his move. Rothardan opened his own window and jumped out of it. He then released his 'Alter Self' spell that was always upon him, and let free his angelic wings, using them to fly up into the sky. The moon was tucked away for the night, only darkness and stars seemed to cover the sky tonight. That suited Rothardan perfectly, since he could fly up and tail the tiefling without having to worry about being caught at all.

The target was moving quickly through the streets, not stopping at all. That meant they knew where they were going... which meant that Rothardan had to follow his prey quickly. Someone was in danger, he knew that much.

Fehade - October 30, 2007 01:46 PM (GMT)
Fehade continued to walk through streets, and some alleys, until in come to one road, with all houses on it. The tiefling looked back once, making sure no one was following, and didn't even think about looking up. He made his way to the smallest house, one that still had lights on, even though, it was late. Fade stopped, watching the house a moment, seeing someone walking about inside. Smirking slightly, the tiefling walked to the house, and to the door. Lifting his hand, he knocked on the door slowly, and inside, the woman stopped. It was a minute or so, til the lady came over to the door, and peered out. She took one glance at the eyes, and then, opened the door wide.

"'Ello, Fehade. What brings you here?" The human asked the tiefling, who shrugged, and then, strolled into the house, and turning to face the lady.

"I hear you have been causing some trouble. Some... nobles don't like it." He said, dragging it out, while staring at the girl. Slowly, a smile played on his face, a not to friendly smile.

Right then, she knew the tiefling was here to kill her, and went for the door. Before she got there, Fehade grabbed her hair, pulled her roughly back, and closed the door, as she fell to the floor. Slowly, he pulled out his katana.

"If you were going to live... you could have learned not to let 'old friends' into the house, Mara." He said, smiling. He had known this lady for a long time, she had helped with a few things once in a while, and he appreciated the help, but wouldn't thank it. He didn't care that he had to kill her now, yeah, it was sort of a pity, but, he could careless at the moment, as long as he was paid, he was happy. He glanced towards the windows a moment, thinking that someone could see, then shrugged. What were they gonna do? Once he's done here, he'd be out of here in a flash. When he turned back to Mara, she had a knife in her hand. Fehade laughed silently.

"And what is a small piece of junk gonna do to me, Mara?" He asked, grinning, then raised his weapon.

Rothardan - November 17, 2007 10:36 PM (GMT)
Rothardan was flying as silently as the night, tracking down this person. What were they up to? Who or what was the target? What was going to happen? Rothardan had many questions that he knew were going to be answered soon in ways he didn't want happening. Suddenly, the tiefling arrived at a small house with lights on and knocked on the door. This was it, something was going to happen within this small house.

Rothardan looked down at a shadowy alley and then suddenly vanished into thin air. Not even a second passed when he re-appeared in the dark alley he had been looking at. Rothardan immediatley concentrated on the situation at hand, and suddenly saw that the door was open. There was a young woman there who was talking to the teifling inside of the house. The door was about to close, so Rothardan immediatley used his blink spell again to teleport himself inside the house.

The problem was that the spell was cast again in a haste, and Rothardan had deinatley appeared in the house... but he had overshot his distance and ended up on the otherside of the room with a wall seperating him and the tiefling. He heard screams from the otherside and the Tiefling's voice.

"And what is a small piece of junk gonna do to me, Mara?"

Rothardan immediatley ran to the door into the other room where the tiefling was and kicked it with all his strength. The door flew of its hinges and slammed against the wall as Rothardan calmly walked into the room and saw the Tiefling armed with a Katana and the woman in question armed with a small knife.

"The knife won't do much," Rothardan said, "But this blade might even the odds..."

Rothardan placed his hand into a small pouch that hung across his waist from a drawstring, a pouch that looked like it could hold about 100 gold pieces. However, this was a pouch of never ending space, and within it was a longsword that seemed to shine like the sun. It was Rothardan's primary weapon, the holy blade that was christened 'The Tear of the Seraphic'. The blade began to glow bright white as it did when it met someone as evil as the Tiefling. Rothardan held the blade out, pointing it at the Tiefling in a threatening manner. Rothardan was in command here, and he wanted questions.

"You were talking to someone in the bar," The Paladin began, "And now you're here to kill someone. Who was the person who sent you here tonight and why?
"Tell me now and you go to the local magistrate for your crime. If you resist, you go to the local magistrate wrapped in bandages. Choose now assasain and choose wisely."

Fehade - November 18, 2007 01:16 AM (GMT)
He was taken a back once the Paladin burst through the door, and stared a moment, then a small smirk went on his face. He sort of hoped this would be an easy little job, a good small job to earn some easy gold. He needed it for his travels and such, and now, he was a little worried about getting himself killed or something bad. This person of good, would cause some problems here. All Fehade had to do, was kill the woman, and leave, but that didn't seem an option anymore.

He grunted slightly at the bright light, wanting to shield his eyes from it. He never liked bright lights, but he refused to take his eyes off the knight.

Mara, knowing that the knight was atleast here to help her, she crawled towards the other side of the room, away from Fehade, fear in her eyes, and she held the knife in tight grip.

"You were talking to someone in the bar, and now you're here to kill someone. Who was the person who sent you here tonight and why?

He laughed silently. Then, smiled wide, as an idea crept from his mind. If he told the knight about the noble, then the noble who paid Fehade would most likely be thrown in the dungeons, and couldn't get the gold back that he paid Fehade for killing the girl, now he wouldn't have to kill Mara.

"Ah... now lets see... what was his name? Ah yes, Fael Arvel. A noble of this town. Quite an annoyance too. Why I was sent to get her?... Well, I'm pretty sure the noble has some reasons. I don't ask those type of questions. I just do as I'm told, if it means shedding blood in your precious city." He hissed, smiling coldly. He then broke into a cold laughter, red eyes gleaming.

"Turn myself in? What are you? A fool?" He laughed. "So, knight. What is my crime then. Seeing I haven't even shed blood? Going to turn in an innocent tiefling?" Fade's grin was wide. All Fehade had to try doing was to get out of this place, though, he knew it would never happen, he knew the knight was a paladin, he looked like one, he wouldn't let a tiefling walk out of here. He held his katana ready, in case of any attack that may come from the knight. His body tensed, and he wanted to shed some blood tonight, it always lifted his spirits to see blood flowing.

Rothardan - November 18, 2007 09:41 AM (GMT)
The Tiefling was confident... too confident. It would be his downfall in the end of all this. Rothardan listened to the Tiefling and heard the name Fael Avrel come up, a name which meant nothing to the Paladin at this point but would probably mean something when he did some checking up on this matter later. It just seemed like the woman had made a powerful enemy in the form of Fael Avrel, who was so cowardly that he had hired a killer to get rid of her.

The woman had crawled toward the otherside of the room, behind Rothardan, for cover. She was still clutching the knife, but Rothardan knew she wouldn't need it. This Tiefling was the main concern still, and Roth knew he had to stop him at all costs. Gripping his blade, Rothardan measured his attacker quickly and realised that he could be some trouble.

"Turn myself in? What are you? A fool?" The Tiefling laughed. "So, knight. What is my crime then. Seeing I haven't even shed blood? Going to turn in an innocent tiefling?"

Rothardan wondered if the Tiefling was being stupid intentionally, and that gave the Paladin a good idea on how he could make the dark being slip up and lose this battle before it even began.

"Well, you forcefully entered a building... you've told me that someone has sent you to 'get' her which implies kidnapping, and you hurt her which is assault. You also said you do what your told, which includes shedding blood, which basically means you've told me that you were going to kill her.
"And this is all from your mouth 'assasain'. But seriously, are you an assasain? I'm half expecting Kona and friends to come out here and say "SUPRISE" because there is no way an assasain would be dumb enough to tell me all that information.
"I mean, you actually told me the name of your employer for the love of Veronna, you ACTUALLY told me it when I asked you. That's not even an amatuer mistake on your behalf, that's just clumsy.
"Seriously though, did you learn your skills from that book: 'Assasains for Dum-Dums?' And look at you with that Katana, holding it like a bread-knife, like you can do anything against me with THAT. You really are an amatuer aren't you? I bet Mr. Avrel must have been short on gold to consider hiring you... either that or he's even more moronic than you... which says alot!"

Fehade - November 18, 2007 10:38 PM (GMT)
He listened to the knight, grinning at some parts of what he spoke about. He was entertained by it. So what if he gave the knight the name of the one who had Fehade to kill the girl. It mattered nothing to him. He wanted the knight to know, he hates most nobles. He mentioned Kona, and the tiefling thought he heard that before, but paid it no heed, it was most likely another pathetic paladin. He called the tiefling a assassin a few times. If only," he thought, grinning.

"You know, maybe it wasn't that clumsy? Maybe I want you to go after that blasted noble. I don't even care if he gets killed. I'd relish that." He grinned. And laughed when he mentioned his katana. Fehade was far away from being a assassin. He is a warrior, and sorcerer, he has magic abilities up his sleeve, and they were on the tip of his tongue, waiting to be used.

"You are truly amusing to listen to you rant about this. But, sadly, I don't have all night, I say, we start to play, before daylight comes." He smirked, slowly, he lowered his sword a little, in a casual way, though, he was fast and swift, and could easily bring it up when need be. He anticipated to fight this knight, see how it goes. Fehade is always willing to take a risk fighting someone who even may be stronger then him.

"You may call me an amatuer, but I do everything, for a reason." He said, and his gaze went to the woman, who stared at him. He grinned evilly at her, before glancing at the knight. If he could, he would finish his job, but that is only if the knight goes down smoothly. His fingers started to twitch, as he let himself get ready to use some form of dark spell he knows.

Rothardan - November 19, 2007 08:44 AM (GMT)
Rothardan listened to the Tiefling and realised that he was dealing with a psychopath, a person that relished killing and destruction. This was even worse than your average assassin, and Rothardan knew he had to bring this man to justice. It was then that he noticed the Tiefling's fingers twitch and Rothardan realized he was getting ready to pull something funny. In a closed space like this, any sort of magic would be dangerous apart from one spell...

Rothardan muttered an ancient celestial command word, and as soon as it left his lips: the very air began to shimmer as the magical spell was cast. Now they were safe and only swords could be used, for the Anti-Magic field would protect everyone within a 50ft radius, which meant that no-one could use magic within the house at all. This meant that the Tiefling could only use his sword.

Rothardan placed another hand into his pouch and drew his second blade, the Force Blade. Placing The Tear of the Seraph back, Rothardan pointed the Force Blade at his target and looked him dead in the eye. Now he was serious, now he wasn't playing anymore, now this was his fight with his rules.

"It's over Tiefling. I've cast an anti-magic field around this area which means no magic. And the weapon I am pointing at you is capable of shooting out bolts of energy which will bring you near to death. Observe..."

The Force Blade suddenly began to cackle and glow a rich golden colour as a bolt of holy energy was charged within it. It was the only thing close to magic able to being used in the Anti-Magic field and that was because it wasn't magic... it was science.

"This bolt of energy will track and follow you if by some good grace I miss you, so that means you still get hurt. And as I said, you will be brought near to death. Lower your blade Tiefling and place your hands on your head or I will fire."

Fehade - November 20, 2007 12:25 AM (GMT)
The air shimmered about, and suddenly, any spell that the tiefling was about to cast, died. He growled in his throat, glaring at the knight, and knew he wasn't going to win. The tiefling wasn't strong enough to fight this one. He needed more power. If he had stayed with his demonic family, and never helped his half-sister Zehavya, he would never have been in this mess, and would have been more stronger. Though, there was no way to take that back, because of the mark that branded him a long time ago, a mark of banishment.

Though he was proud, and stubborn, he knew when to back down from a fight, especially when you can't use magic. He wasn't stupid. If he tried to fight, he knew he would lose. Slowly, he lowered his blade, and soon, dropped it to the floor, the Katana making little noise as it hit the floor. His gaze never wavered from the knight, as he put his hands on his head, as told.

"Well, I guess next time I have something to do is this city, I'll make sure to be stealthier." He said, and a glimmer flashed in his eyes, and they grew brighter a moment, then faded.

"I was hoping for a little battle, but, you seem to find this better, threatening me with your magic weapons." He mumbled, mainly to himself, though, who knows. He shifted, quick annoyed, though, an idea sparked in his head. He needed Evier, his nightmare. She would most likely find him, as she always does. He watched the knight still. Fehade ascted calm, like he was all night, though, he felt unsafe, not holding his weapon, and not being able to use magic. He glanced at the sword. It was his first weapon, it was given to him when he was finished with his training with Hakri. His left arm seemed to burn, like the night it did when they branded him with banishment. He growled again, looking up from the weapon.

Samathan - November 21, 2007 04:38 AM (GMT)
Samathan strode into the Tavern, he found a table in a corner and sat down. He ordered a drink and as he took a sip from it he looked about him at the other patrons of this popular bar. Not all of them were wholesome characters, there were several very shady ones who sat at tables in secluded corners. Samathan took another sip from his drink and placed it on the table with a soft clunk, he hoped that someone would join him as he was in the mood for some company this evening.

Rothardan - November 21, 2007 02:47 PM (GMT)
Rothardan motioned to the front door of the house, indicating that the Tiefling should walk outside. From there, Rothardan was take the Tiefling into custody and fly him to the local prison cell where he would await trial. The Tiefling seemed dissapointed in the whole outcome, perhaps he really did want a fight with the paladin. Rothardan didn't want to endanger anyone's life however, and knew that this was the best way.
"Well, I guess next time I have something to do is this city, I'll make sure to be stealthier."
"Or perhaps you won't do anything in this city that's illegal... since you'll be spending the next 20 years behind a prison cell." replied Rothardan.

It was over, Rothardan had stopped a killing and had a name to go by... which he would check out later. So why did Rothardan feel uneasy about all of this? He had been guarding the city of Taras for a long time to the point where people were wondering whether he was in league with Veronna Darkblade, the goddess of blades whom also watched this city. Rothardan knew that something was going to happen and so he was cautious at all times.

"Walk" commanded Rothardan, keeping the force blade held high at the Tiefling's head.

Fehade - November 21, 2007 03:23 PM (GMT)
Fehade turned and walked out as the knight had wanted. The tiefling did as he was told. "Ah, that long? Joy." He said oddly cheerfully. He sometimes liked to be in good humor, even if he always had evil intentions. "Its very annoying, how all you fools of the good, always seems to destroy my plans. Your almost as irritating as my half-sister aasimar." He said. He very so much despised his half-sister, as she him. He wanted to always kill her, but he never could force himself to. He remembered how he had saved her from his demonic family.

"You know what'd be fun, is for you to go try and slay my lovely demonic family, that would surely be the end of you though. To bad. I'd love to see them bleed." He hissed the last word. He liked that idea, seeing his family dead, all of them. All those fools who banished him.

Once he was outside and on the street, and the knight obviously not far, Fehade grinned. In the distance, there was the noise of hooves. Right then, Fehade twirled around, and kicked out with his left leg at the knight, just to hopefully make him stumble, and while he did that, he dodged the force blade that was close to his head. At the same moment he kicked out at the knight, a nightmare horse ran around the corner, towards the tiefling. The nightmare ran by, and Fehade ran to it, throwing himself into the saddle on the horse who continued to run.

The tiefling grabbed the reins, and turned the horse, and pulled it to a stop. He pointed his finger at the knight, and yelled a incantation of dark magic. A dark bolt of negative energy shot towards the knight. Enervation. Had to be one of Fehade's favorite spells, and one he hardly used.

"I'm not that easy to get." He called, laughing. "I do everything for a reason." He mumbled to himself.

Rothardan - November 21, 2007 08:31 PM (GMT)
Both killer and knight left the building, Rothardan with his force blade aimed directly at the Tiefling in case of any problem. Suddenly, Rothardan picked up the sound of hooves galloping amongst the stoney streets. The Paladin made the mistake of turning to see where the hooves were coming from, for his prisoner suddenly lashed out with a mean kick and Rothardan stumbled backwards. The Tiefling mounted his horse and as quick as the wind, before galloping away to the city gates.

Rothardan spread his wings and got ready to give chase to the Tiefling when he heard an incantation being said. Too late, Rothardan realised that he was still in the 50ft Anti-Magic barrier and could do nothing from being hit dead in the chest with an enervation bolt. The spell was extremley powerful, the pain spread across the Paladin's chest like hellfire. Then there was the force of the spell as Rothardan was thrown backwards quite a distance and landed heavily on the street.

Any mortal man would have been killed outright by the spell, but Rothardan was no mere man. Years of training and bonding with the holy spirits had given him un-natural protection against the dark forces that he fought against. The spell had done it's damage and had left a smoking hole in Rothardan's chestplate but his silvery solar skin had taken the brunt of the damage. Though he was alive, Rothardan still couldn't stand up. He couldn't even lift his hand up, his whole body feeling like a lead weight.

Fehade - November 22, 2007 01:32 AM (GMT)
Fehade burst into insane laughter, when his spell hit the knight, and threw him back. A grin spread across his face. He made a clicking noise with his tongue, and lightly nudge Evier to walk forward, and she did. He directed her to circle the knight, staying their distance. He noticed that the knight still lived, and that made him grin wider. He then let out a mocking sigh.

"Oh well. Guess I won't be spending 20 years in a prison cell." He said, then shrugged. "Ah, well, I suppose its 20 years of crime for me, knight." He said, still having Evier circle him.

"Bright side is, I won't kill Mara. You can go about saying you stopped a killing tonight. Joy for that." He talked on. He could talk a lot sometimes, though, mainly to annoy others, or even to just mock them. He looked up at the streets, and dug his heels into the horse, and had her canter to the end of the street. "Hope you get well, knight, can't wait for our next meeting." He broke into his laughter again.

He stayed there a moment, glancing about him. He heard nothing. There was no one around, no guards, no one. But then he looked up at the houses on the street, noticing some people poking their heads out, curious to what the ruckus was. He grinned. Someday, he would see this city burn to the ground, or even bow to the god of darkness, either was fine with Fehade, either way, it would be just as fun. He looked back to Mara's house, and grimaced. He hadn't done his job right, but he had already decided after nearly going to jail, that he would let her live for now. He noticed her look out. Seeing the knight laying there, she ran out to see what happened, though, stopped when she still saw Fehade there on his horse.
