Title: Just another day

Shadeen - October 23, 2007 08:07 PM (GMT)
The wooden walls of the sable were darkened with the water weight that pounded down on them. The gains greedily soaked up the droplets until they could hold no more, and the small blobs rolled down the sides of the stable, collecting at the bottom. The earth around the outside was muddied, horse hoof holes had filled with liquid that roiled under the onslaught of water. Grass grew in patches around the dirt path that led up to the now closed doors. Each strand was burdened with water and hung low to the ground eager to release the pressure.

The wind howled around the trees in front, rustling up the leaves to create an offsetting sound to the eerie, angry wind. The day was chilled by the weather, dark clouds blocking off the sun from reaching the earth below. Any sound that usually floated about the pastures was drowned out by the hard hitting stream; the animals had retreated into any brush or shrubbery they could find.

The back of the stables were lined with wooden fences, bending in the wind. The horses had been moved inside and now the area was left bare. Grass was lush in the fields, but paths to the entrance, and around it, were pounded down with millions of passing feet and hooves. Each pasture was huge, giving the horses enough running space and freedom that they could easily be rid of any excess energy they had built up over the time they spent inside. Buckets that normally held drinking water had overflowed with the onslaught and the mud was more slush in these areas.

A girl wandered through the mud leading to the front doors, waving to the guards that patrolled the areas. They knew her well enough; she had been coming here every day since she came to Imythess. She wished she had brought a cloak, or something to cover herself so that she wouldn’t be soaked to the bone, like she was right now. Her dress clung to her body and beads ran down over her skin. With each step she took her foot sunk into the mud and she had to pull on it until it gave way with a SLURP. Occasionally she would have to pull on her leg in order to get it out of the really deep parts. The hem of her dress was muddied from the splash of mud, and her arms were covered up to the elbows with mud as well. She tried to hurry her step and only succeeded in losing her balance and tumbling into the mud. She pulled herself out of the mud and looked down at herself. There was no chance she was getting clean now. She brushed off the worse part, sloshing it back to the ground before she trekked up to the doors of the barn. Horses were carved into the wood and she ran her hand lightly along one of the edges before pushing gently and slipping into the light beyond.

The inside was brightly lit and beautifully made. Horses were everywhere. They danced along the walls and ceiling. Beams that held up the roof were made of horse heads. Horses neighed at the new visitor; she only had one in mind though. She wandered down the aisle patting each horse on the nose when they stuck out their heads. Finally she reached a beautiful gray stallion. He reached out and nuzzled her face. She laughed and pushed him away, brushing his elegant long face. She scratched at his coat underneath his forelock. She settled down for the day, glad to be out of the rain. Now she wondered if she should’ve brought any food, she could always run out later...when it had stopped raining.

Decadence - October 23, 2007 11:29 PM (GMT)
The torrential rains fell forth from the sky, falling ever so elegantly on their descent to the already mud ridden earth. It wasn’t necessarily a cold rain, but it was enough to chill a person to the bone should they be caught out in it for a long period of time.

The streets seemed to be in a stir as people rushed to accomplish their final deeds for the day despite how hard the rain had been coming down. Determined...was the only thought that went through his mind as he watched with smug amusement at the people as they trampled and stumbled through the mud. He admired their perseverance, but even more their resolve when it came to coaxing the animals and guiding them through the mud. Resting his hand on the hilt of the large blade that adorned his side, he continued to trudge through the mud ridden streets until he came across a poor old man trying to urge his horses to pull the stuck cart out of the mud. When it became obvious that they couldn’t he would put his efforts into pushing it with them, but to no avail. With an exasperated sigh, he would make his way up to the cart and place both his hands firmly upon the back of the cart. Giving off a strained grunt he would begin to forge forward, slowly and gradually easing the cart forward and out of the rut it had dug itself into.

The old man turned to the young man and tipped his hat before plunging his hand over the side of the cart and fished out a loaf of bread and a couple of apples. Tossing them towards Varonen, he would then climb upon the cart and lightly snap the reigns against the horses back to get them to go. Catching the items in his hands, he would simply continue on and towards one of the structures that laid before him. At first glance it hadn’t really seemed like much, but the closer he got the more intricate its design had become. Horses seemed to be etched within the wooden doors surface, signaling to all that this had been indeed the Great Stables of Kellen Village. He had often heard of it, but never ventured to it, nor did he even venture within the village itself. Pushing the door open with the back of his occupied hand, he would emerge through its threshold and within the dry and warm atmosphere of the stables.

The horses seemed to stir louder than they had been prior to his entrance, but it really didn’t bother him any. After all, they weren’t causing any harm and it wasn’t as thought he would do as such to them. Setting the apples and bread down upon a nearby stool, he would take a seat upon the ground with his back against the wall. Taking in a deep breath, he would exhale slowly before running a hand through his soaken wet hair. Tiny strands seemed to cling to his face here and there, but even though he would remove them they always seemed to fall right back into place. Giving up the endless battle, he would focus his attention down and to the breast plate that adorned his torso. Reaching a single hand in through the neck of the armor, he would proceed in fishing out his pet. Grasping it by the scruff of the neck, he would pluck it from its warm confines within the armor. Gently placing the rabbit down upon the straw riddled ground beside him, a single digit would lightly stroke the area between its ears, atop its head.

At first glance, the rabbit would appear to be nothing more than an ordinary rabbit. But with fur as black as coal and eyes as red as blood drops, it would be nowhere near that of ordinary. In fact, many saw it as a creepy creature and wanted nothing to do with it most times.

Bit by bit the rabbit inched away from Varonen and towards the woman almost directly across from them. As it neared the halfway point between the two, it would lightly nudge at the straw on the ground in front of it before taking an end into its mouth to chew. Taking a chunk off the straw, it would simply sit chewing on the food, while its eyes remained fixated upon the strange woman. Deciding to try its luck it would cautiously hop its way over towards her, only to pause just at her feet. Lowering its nose down to the woman’s foot, it would begin sniffing at it for a little bit, before moving over towards a nearby piece of straw. Again it would begin its nibbling in order to detain its hunger for a while longer.

As the rabbit went about its own things, Varonen reached for one of the apples on the stool and took a rather large bite from it. Chewing it for a short time, he would swallow and again take a large chunk from the apple, almost eating as though he hadn’t eaten in weeks. Finishing with the apple he would place the core upon the stool and turn his attention to where he had originally left the rabbit. Heaving an annoyed sigh, his eyes would quickly trace the stables until landing upon a woman and the rabbit just a half foot from her. Releasing a slight growl, he would push himself to his feet and reach down to grab the other apple before heading towards the woman. Upon reaching her, he would bow slightly in respect, “I’m terribly sorry if he’s pestering you at all. I didn’t think he’d go off and roam on his own, considering how much of a chicken he is.” As the word chicken left his lips the rabbits ears twitched and its head popped up slightly as though it had understood.

Shifting his gaze from the woman and back down to the apple again, he would hold it out to her as an offering, “Here, maybe this’ll make up for him being a nuisance. Oh and if you must know a name, it’s Varonen Skeirs. And him…I call him Geist, kinda like a poltergeist. I know, it’s not a very inventive name, but I think it suits him. After all, he’s not necessarily normal.” He laughed lightly as he glanced from the woman and down at the rabbit who was now staring at him with its head slightly cocked to the side.

She nibbled on the bread and cheese she had brought with her, pulling out a small leather bound book from beneath he dress where she had tried to keep it dry. And failed as it were. Water dripped off the pages and stained the leather. She shook it out with one hand, the pages were already yellow, dog-eared and ripped, water wouldn’t hurt it too much. She hopped the ink hadn’t run, staining the pages of her life to date. She opened the swollen pages and flipped through them, scanning them for any damage they may have taken on. As she looked through she listened to the pounding of rain on the wooden roof and relaxed further.

Presently she heard the wind rip through the stable as the door was opened and a stranger slipped into the barn. She cast a glance at him, and turned her eyes back to the journal. She had caught that he was a man, black hair, but that was all. It was unusual for her to run into another person while she was here, and he didn’t seem as though he had seen her. Perhaps she could just sit and not be noticed. She closed her eyes as tight as she could making her skin crinkle, took a deep breath, and went back to her work.

She had lost herself completely and when she came to she found a small rabbit snuffling around her feet. He was cute, she thought, his black fur was something she hadn’t seen on a rabbit before. She watched him curiously out of the corner of her eye, unsure if it was okay to run her fingers through his fur. Then he looked up at her and she had to take a moment to recompose. His eyes were blood red, and they gazed into her, she shifted a bit uncomfortably. Just a rabbit, she told herself, your just being silly. It was rather cute, and a little odd, she decided she liked the creature and let him scuffle around her while she watched out of the corner of her eye.

A growl caught her attention and her eyes shot up to see the man that had entered stalk towards her. Upon reaching her he bowed, her cheeks flushed red and she waved him off, rather embarrassed to be bowed to. “I’m terribly sorry if he’s pestering you at all. I didn’t think he’d go off and roam on his own, considering how much of a chicken he is.” She laughed a little sheepishly at first, still overcoming the bow, before she composed herself enough to respond. “No bother. He’s actually cute...in a way,” She giggled.

He held out an apple for her. “Here, maybe this’ll make up for him being a nuisance. Oh and if you must know a name, it’s Varonen Skeirs. And him…I call him Geist, kinda like a poltergeist. I know, it’s not a very inventive name, but I think it suits him. After all, he’s not necessarily normal.” Geist, cute, she thought, smiling to herself.

Suddenly she was very aware she was sitting down and stood up suddenly, spooking the horse behind her. She laughed nervously and offered the stallion her hand. He nudged it once and went back to his own business. “You can keep it,” She referred to the apple in his hands, “it’d do more for the horses than it would for me. And my name is Shadeen Altessa, or Shade. Geist, I like that, it suits him I think. Do you mind if I pet him?”

((OOC: These few posts of mine have a bit lackluster compared to my others and for that I apologize. I just would hate to make you wait forever and a half in order to post what I consider to be decently good. =) Hope you don't mind. ))

When the woman introduced herself to him, he would repeat the name a few times in his head trying to get a good grasp of it before turning his attention off to the rabbit when she asked about petting it. Normally it wouldn’t be such a big deal, but it had been known for Geist to bite from time to time and it wasn’t necessarily something to joke about. There were only a handful of times he had actually bitten Varonen, but about three of the times had actually drawn blood. Contemplating for a moment, a decision would come to his head and in a soft melodic voice he would respond, “I would suggest just letting him sniff out your hand first to see if he’s comfortable with you, but since he had actually trekked over here in order to scope you out, I don’t think he’ll just blow you off. It’s all entirely up to him, though. He’s got his moods and he can bite you so I’d just be careful on the way you conduct yourself around him.”

Taking his attention from the rabbit, his emerald hues would flicker across the woman for only a split second until they moved down to his soaken cloak that clung annoyingly to his body. Reaching his hands up to his neck he would unfasten the string at the collar of the cloak, before allowing it to slip from his frame only to catch it on the drop. Moving over to one of the stall doors, he would lightly toss the cloak onto it so it hung over both sides of it. Bringing his hand with the apple up and over the stall door, he would hold it out to the horse behind it, “I think this should pay for my use of your door as a drying rack, no?” It took no longer than the second he held out the apple for the horse to take a large section of it in a single bite and moments later another to take the rest of it. With a smile he would pat the horses head and glance over at the woman for a moment, “Would you excuse me a second…?” Not even waiting for her response, he would begin to take a few good steps away from her before finally unclasping his wings from around his body and spanning them out as far as they would go. It had felt so good to finally stretch them and the room in the stables seemed to be just enough to do as such, but what surprised him the most was the fact that the horses didn’t seem startled by his actions.

Water dripped freely from the bottom of his wings, their white and blue shades seemed to shimmer in the dull dim lighting of the stables. Oh how he hated when his wings got wet, it seemed to take forever for them to dry and it wasn’t like he could necessarily fly while they were still damp. Shifting his emerald eyes downwards and towards the chest plate again, he would stick his hand in again and begin to fish around until he pulled out another of his pets. When he opened his hand, a small drag would reside just upon his palm still slumbering. Turning around to face the woman again, he would simply take a seat where he had been standing, sitting cross-legged as he had. Gently he would place the dragon upon the ground beside him, only to cause it to stir ever so slightly before falling still once more. Looking up from the dragon and back up to the woman for a moment, a soft smile would grace his countenance, “This one here I never really had a name for, there’s been a couple I’ve been thinking about but none of them seem to suit him. I suppose you wouldn’t have any idea what a good name would be, huh?”

The rabbit looked between the woman and Varonen for a second, until its blood red eyes rested upon the sleeping dragon at his side. The dragon in comparison to Geist had only been a fair bit smaller than him, but regardless of its size the dragon was a lot faster than people would expect. Turning its head from the dragon, its eyes would settle upon the woman where it would steadily inch its way towards her again. Bringing its nose towards her hand, it would simply sniff it for a short time before lowering its head back to the ground only to nibble at another piece of straw just beside her.

The same smile seemed to linger on his face as he watched the rabbit curiously, “It seems you’ve got nothing to worry about, since it would appear that he’s quite comfortable remaining by you. Go ahead and pet him if you wish, I’m sure he’ll let you.” A few idle thoughts drifted through his head as he continued to watch the two of them, “Shadeen Altessa an interesting name all on its own…So, what brings you here exactly? That’s if you don’t mind me asking.”

(OoC:: Oh its fine. I think your more than decent right now. I'd hate to try and keep up to your writing at full swing. Besides its more fun that I can come home everyday and have something to write. It'll improve me. haha.)

She held out her hand for the rabbit to sniff around, hoping that he would accept her enough for her to pet his fur. She imagined it would be soft as velvet under her fingers, and that only made the urge to pet him stronger. She watched as Varonen offered up an apple to the horse behind her and he swung his cloak over the stable door. “Would you excuse me a second…?” And in a second he was gone. She watched him curiously as he retreated down the aisle of the stable. She blinked, and then again, and again. She just couldn’t believe what had appeared before her eyes in the last instance. Her eyes turned into giant brown orbs that stared at the wings that had flurried from his back. They held a certain elegance and fantasy quality that she envied. She wanted to tear her eyes away from his feathered wonders but she couldn’t seem to. She knew she looked like an idiot just gaping at him.

They shimmered and when he turned to walk back towards her she quickly moved her eyes down to the rabbit. She silently cursed herself for turning away too quickly thinking it would be obvious that she had been staring at him. He sat cross-legged in front of her and she slowly moved her eyes back up to his wings. Blue and white seemed to shimmer over the feather and she was entranced by them. It was then that she noticed that something had changed, and she noticed a small dragon curled up on the stable floor. He was another fantasy all on his own and she wanted to touch his scales as well. She contented herself with letting the rabbit sniff around her still. When she heard that he had no name for the small creature her mind immediately pulled her to the name: “Cypher.” She didn’t know why exactly but it seemed like it suited. “Cypher,” She repeated after a moment, lolling it around her mouth. “I like that name,” She smiled at Varonen, who, until a few moments ago, had been just a man. Now he seemed this mysterious being to her. She silently thought she had been too self involved if she hadn’t seen such wonders before.

She was so lost in her thoughts that it took her a moment to register that he had spoken to her at all. “Oh, umm,” She stumbled, taking a moment to think on what he had just asked her. “I just love horses,” She laughed “They’re my passion, and I’m saving up to buy one. I don’t know how long that’ll be though. And no it’s okay to ask.” She smiled at him and her hand scratched at Geist’s velvety fur. If he twitched or moved away she would let her hand drop down, but he didn’t seem to make any move. She fumbled with the hem of her dress and struggled to get the courage to put her curiosity into words. It seemed there was too much she didn’t know about the world, and the proof of it sat in front of her.

“Now, if you don’t mind me asking... I was wondering umm... about your wings...” She smiled and blushed, feeling odd that she had actually asked him that question. Before waiting for him to answer she turned her attention to Giest, cooing over him. She moved her fingers through his fur until they came to the soft spot behind his ears. She rubbed him behind the ears, knowing from experience that most animals like the place behind their ears scratched. She hoped he wouldn’t move away from her since he had grown on her and she was rather fond of him. “Y’know Varonen Skeirs is an odd name too.” she teased, “Where are you from?”

She imagined it was a place of magic and mystery. Suddenly she realized that she was having childish fantasies and that he was probably just from a place like this, just another village in Imythess. That kind of made it a little more interesting in her mind. Perhaps he was from some far land he couldn’t remember, or was searching for his home, or...perhaps she should turn off her imagination and actually listen to what he said.

((OOC: Heh, I think you're awesome so keep it up. =) Your characters fun and quirky and seems to mesh quite well with Varonen. ))

When she spoke about what the dragon’s name should be, a few idle thoughts would drift though his mind. After giving it some thought, he would nod with a smile upon his face, “Cypher it is. I’m sure he’ll like it, but for now he needs his sleep. Think he might have tired himself out through all the escapades I got myself wrapped up in. Through thick and thin he’s been at my side, which is why I never really came up with a name, since everything I thought of just didn’t fit him. I owe him a lot.” Lowering his right hand down to the dragon, a single digit would run its tip from the top of its head and down to its tail, “But that’s not all that interesting of a story…” Again he would fall silent, simply content upon listening to her for once instead of his own voice constantly. It was sort of like a safe haven for a change, but it would be interrupted when her own question would bring back the attention to him instead, “So you want to know about my wings, eh? What is it that you really want to know? I can’t answer you if you won’t tell me exactly what you want to know, after all.” With a coy grin, he would playfully cock his head to the side in a questioning manner at her.

It was fun to finally be able to sit down with a person and actually have a conversation with them as opposed to worrying about fighting and all that other stupid stuff. To be truthful, her company was pleasant and he wanted nothing more than to simply sit and talk with her the entire night…

Geist’s right leg seemed to aimlessly swat itself towards the spot she was scratching behind his ear, only to miss each time and lightly hit the ground with each strike. It had nothing to do with him disliking it, but instead he was enjoying it more than he probably should have been. Unable to stand it anymore, his head shook quickly from side to side and in a few steps he would slip from beneath the hand. Staring up at the woman for a few moments, it would slowly inch a few steps closer before poising itself for a jump. In one swift motion, Geist would leap into the air and land softly into her lap, where he would lay and rest his head just upon her thigh, content on his new home for the time being.

A smile replaced the grin on Varonen’s face as he watched Geist and his newly found friend, “Seems he’s taken a liking to you. I can’t say that about anyone really, so you must have a special touch.” Again she would divert attention and focus from her by asking him a question, but he didn’t mind in the least. Although it was a question about his past, which wasn’t something he really enjoyed talking about a whole lot, so instead he would divert it from the path it would force him to take.

Clearing his throat, his eyes would shift up to hers only to focus themselves squarely to hers, “I’m from a village much like this, but this is my home now in the lands of Imythess. I’ve been here for quite some time now and I have no intentions of leaving this place. Though, that’s not really what you’re interested in listening about is it? I’m sure you’re more curious about my wings, so I’ll tell you a story… A long time ago when I was a mere child, something bad had once happened to me, but I always believed that angels were there to watch out for us. Each of us had these angels, many believed, many didn’t, but I did. It was my faith that would bring this angel to me much later when I’ve grown. It was a massive creature standing over seven feet tall, its skin was a light blue shade and its wings…Its wings seemed to sparkle when the light would hit them, very much like the ones I currently possess. The reason for that is because of my good deeds and my good faith, the angel decided that the two us should fuse and become one entire entity in order to fight the evils that held their binds on these lands. This entity would often go by the name of Shagarez Sylliano. He and I are a part of each other in every way shape and form. But that’s all I can tell you about my wings.”

Another smile traced his lips as soon as he finished his story, but it seemed that the story alone would not quench this woman’s fascination. Laughing lightly, he would begin to speak again, but in a soft soothing voice, “I’ll tell you what, if you wish you can touch them. Don’t worry it won’t hurt him or I so it’s no big deal.” Though, he would make no motions to make it easier for her to touch him, after all if she really wanted to do so then she would make accommodations in order to do so. He didn’t really want to force it after all, but instead give her the option instead of making the choice for her. But during the time it would take her to debate over it, another question formed itself at his lips, “You seem to have a fascination with animals too, can you tell me where you had acquired such an interest? I’m not saying it’s a bad thing or anything, just curious is all.” Again he would reassure her with a warming smile, before patiently waiting for her to answer.

(OoC:: Thanks, I'm really having fun =) Your character is really interesting I must say.)

She felt a small spark of pride when he mulled over the name she had suggested. Unaware she smiled immensely and increased the pressure on Giest, not uncomfortably, but noticeably. She realized that he had spoken and she quickly dimmed down her grin. “Oh well I was wondering...” She trailed off for a moment as if gathering everything in her head. “How did you get them? What are they like? Can you fly? Is it fun?” Her mouth set off at a million miles and she had this childish curiosity that made her seem younger than she was. Realizing that she had been speaking without a breath she took one in quickly and used it to gather herself. “That is...if you don’t mind telling me...” She blushed thinking she must seem quite odd to this newcomer. Somehow she believed he didn’t overly mind her questions, but she still didn’t want to come off as too much of a snoop. Instead she just put one hand over her mouth and blushed, “Mush,” She took her hand away, “Just...anything you really want to tell me,” She smiled.

Giest moved out from under her hand and she let it drop, content with the time he had allowed her. The ‘thump’ in her lap startled her and she looked down at the small black creature and smiled, ruffling the fur on his head. She laughed and let him settle down before she continued her languid strokes down his back. When he cleared his throat she looked up at him and his eyes caught it hers as he began his story. She could almost imagine it as he spoke. She imagined horrible things that could have happened to him as a boy, and realized she didn’t want to know what had actually happened. But the angle she imagined, oh it was something to see. She might have been off by a million details but she didn’t care. He stood majestic before her eyes and floated there with wings spread wide, the feathers shimmering in the light. She wondered what it would be like to fuse with an angel...or entity of any kind, or being as one with someone. She was so lost in the story that she didn’t believe he had actually told her she could touch them.

She didn’t say anything, instead she shift so she sat cross-legged as well, and moved closer to him, careful not to disturb Geist in the process. Soon she sat so that their knees touched and she just stared at his wings, absorbing the fact she could actually touch them. While she prepared herself she decided to answer his own question. “I used to live in a place a lot more open than this. Me and my mother lived on a hillside, forests on either side as far as I could see. Of course I was 4 feet so I couldn’t see much,” She laughed and reached out a hand, letting her fingers brush over the feathers of his wings. They were soft, so soft. “We didn’t have much do to for a young girl so I spent my time exploring the woods. You’d be amazed how many creatures actually come up to a little girl,” She increased the pressure so that her fingertips got lost in the velvety down of his wings. “I used to bring them food and try to coax them to me. I learned a trick or two.” She smiled happily. “I think that’s what caused it, or why I have such an interest in animals. I’ve been around them since I was little. I even kept a stray cat I had found. Called him Spooky since he was all white,” She let herself reminisce for a moment, stroking the blue tinted wings. A small smile played on her lips. “I miss him. It’s kind of lonely here. That’s why I’m saving up my money to buy another cat.” She smiled proudly. “It’s always seemed like I’ve just had a natural instinct when it comes to animals.” She played with one of the feathers on the bottom of his wing. “So my mother taught me to ride when she noticed. One day I’ll get a horse as well.”

She pulled back and blushed realizing how close she had been. “Sorry,” She smiled a little lopsidedly. “They’re just so beautiful.” She moved back a bit, Geist made it a little more difficult to move naturally. She made it a few scuffles back before giving up and ruffling the rabbit’s head once again. “Tell me...” She started, “Umm please tell me....about your adventures. I’ve never really been on any. Or seen a dragon,” She cast a glance towards the newly named Cypher. She enjoyed getting to know this man sitting before in, and in such an odd place as well. The horses snorted and pawed in the background of the stable noise. Maybe he’d take her with him one day, overall it was a good first meeting, and finally she had a friend in this new town. She couldn’t help but smile.

((OOC: It's a quick post, I don't have time to re-read it so if there's something wrong or doesn't make sense, just message me and let me know. =) Sorry about that. ))

A bright flash suddenly illuminated its way through the cracks and spaces in the building, only to be followed shortly by a low rumble that seemed to shake the very foundation. The horses would stir nervously, neighing and pawing at the ground in fright. It had seemed the storm was beginning to get worse and like it or not it would seem the two of them would be stuck in here for quite some time. But waver his eyes wouldn’t as he listened to her story until she had finished, leaving him with another question to answer.

Following her gaze with his own, his eyes would befall upon the tiny little dragon Cypher again. She was certainly full of questions and wonderment, especially when it had come to his wings. Her fascination didn’t bother him though, but instead brought a smug smile to his face in response. When she finished stroking his wings and had moved back to her previous spot, he would fold his hands and rest them upon his lap. Taking in a deep breath he would speak in a soft soothing tone, “Don’t be so nervous, you have nothing to worry about. Now…You wanted to know about flying.” Lifting a hand up to his cheek, he would lightly tap his index finger against it a few times in thought, “Flying…it had taken me some time to get it down, but once I did, I’ve realized just how fun it is. You feel like you’re weightless, and that the laws of gravity apply to everyone but you. It’s rather hard to explain….But as for the wings themselves. I like to think of them as an extension of my own body. It was hard to get used to them at first, since they always got in the way and they’re not necessarily like your arms or legs... Once again, it’s not really anything I can explain very well.” He laughed nervously as he idly rubbed at the back of his head unsure whether or not he had answered her curiosity or not before offering an apology.

It wasn’t often that people asked him those sort of questions, in fact no one ever really had. Perhaps they were afraid to or maybe just that it seemed indecent to do so, but to him it just made him think about it more than he ever did before hand. To make him think how blessed he had been and how thankful he was that Shagarez had bestowed such a gift upon him; him of all people. It didn’t seem rational as to why with the more he thought about it, but the thoughts would quickly subside as he decided to turn his focus to her next question, the dragon. With a long hand, a single digit would lightly stroke itself along the tiny dragon’s spine, treating it almost as if it would break the second any amount of pressure would apply itself. The dragons head lazily lifted and turned its tired eyes upon its master before resting its head once again upon the straw ridden ground.

A faint smile traced his slender lips, and in a soft subtle voice he would begin to weave his story…

“Just recently I had ventured away from these lands in order to clear my head and find answers to my own questions. Without answers, I was left with one thing and that was to return back to these lands. Well, it seemed I wasn’t very familiar with the lands I currently occupied and it nearly led to be fatal in result. Y’see on my way back I had to venture through this marshland, which I was not aware of had been occupied by some nasty creatures during the nightfall. Sure sure, it should have been an obvious, but I figured my first time through wasn’t such a big deal, so my second shouldn’t be much different. That’s where it had varied since one my second time through I was confronted with a demonic being. It seemed there would be no way around it, so I had no choice but to fight him blow for blow. I’m not much for violence, despite carrying the blade I do.” Lifting his hand from the dragon, it would move down to his waist and pat the hilt of the rather large blade. Weathered leather wrapped the hilt, protecting and acting as a solid grip for the hand to hold. Splitting from the hilt came an elegant heading that would curve gracefully to suit the blades design. Connecting to it would rest the massive blade that seemed as if it would weigh a ton and left many to wonder how he could accurately wield it the way he did. The blade’s design was curved in a crescent like shape near the tip and the rest seemed to dip in and curve back out until it came back to the hilt. Its metal glimmered majestically as the dim light had hit it, only to send fragments of light glittering across the ground, but atop of that the blade itself seemed to hold a shimmer all on its own without the aid of the light, only to add to its majestic like appearance. Truly it would be a weapon of an angels arsenal.

Without skipping a beat he would continue his story, “Though, this blade was not what I had used to subdue the beast. In fact, I normally wield a wooden training blade that most call a bokken. I know you’re probably thinking, ‘oh he beat him with a stick….’ Thing is, it’s not just a stick or a piece of wood. In fact, that very weapon can even put this blade to shame should the user wield it correctly, but what I like most about it is the ability to fight without killing. To simply injure and disable without taking life uselessly; nothing angers me more than taking something so precious to another. Good, bad, ugly or handsome no one deserves such a fate, not even animals.” With a huff he would exhale, before catching his breath again, “But moving back to the story. Now, the being wasn’t about to let me on my way so I had no choice but to confront him. I tried to avoid it, but it seemed all it wanted to do was cause me harm. And so the fight ensued, but when I had thought I was winning, I made one mistake and I had thought I was a goner. If it weren’t for Cypher, I’d have been cleaved in half and rotting in that damned swamp, because the second the beast would draw its blade down on me, that very dragon would come from nowhere and distract it by flying full force into the beasts face. It took me a while to compose myself and make odds and ends to what had been ensuing. So I would put to work disabling the massive behemoth, but to my dismay it would appear that Cypher had befallen to the beasts strike.” Again the tiny dragon lifted its head only to look between the two of them, before resting it again, “At that point we escaped from there and thus brought me here…” Taking a free hand he would tuck a few rebellious strands of his onyx shaded hair behind his ear, revealing that he was indeed part elf from the pointed ear, “I suppose I’ve bored you now with my story, so if I could ask you. How would you feel about going on an adventure? Just the two of us…? It’s not a big deal if you don’t wish to do so, after all you just met me. It’s not always wise to trust people right off the start, so just take some time to think it over. I plan to leave tomorrow morning.”

He hadn’t really expected her to say yes to him, but at the same time he wasn’t so sure that she would say no to it either. After all, she seemed quite interested in his stories and everything about him really. Which brought his thoughts back to Cypher. She had asked about seeing a dragon, but he wasn’t too certain on how up to it Cypher would be. After that creature had hit him, the most he had done the past few days it loaf around the entire time, which didn’t bother him. Giving a slight nod, he would take both of his hands and scoop up the dragon taking grave caution to handling it. Extending his hands out to her, he would slightly tilt them downwards in order to show her exactly what he wanted to do. And that was to cup hers in the same fashion and take the dragon. Though, before he would pass off the dragon to her, he would make a few requests, “He’s not in the best of shape at the moment, so being gentle is key. Also, I’m not too familiar with his mannerisms so just take it easy with him. He’s probably a total opposite to Geist for all I know. I’m not trying to worry you though, because I’ve never had an issue with him, but that also doesn’t mean he won’t have an issue with anyone else.”

Shooting a glance from her and down to Geist in her lap, he would make a light clicking noise with his tongue. The second he would, the rabbits ears would twitch and within a blink of the eye it would leap from its spot and make its way back to Varonen only to pause and munch on a piece of straw.

Shadeen - November 24, 2007 05:48 PM (GMT)
((so sorry it’s on the short side. Midterms have rolled around, but I'm back I promise =D))

She wished she could fly, go where no one else could. Even being able to breathe underwater would be amazing. The things she could see or do. She absently ran her fingers in circles along the tips of Geist’s ears. She sat listening intently to his story, the way he spoke it was almost as if she could see what was going on before her. Of course her imagination helped with that. Her own life felt insignificant next to his own, but sometimes she felt it was better that way. She couldn’t quite explain why she felt the way she did about him, she just met him after all, but it felt like a friendship was forging between them in this stable with the rain pounding outside. It was almost comical in how it had all played out.
Once he had finished his story she paused letting it all sink in. She felt she knew him a little better now that everything was said and done. How odd. Suddenly something she had never expected to happen did.

“I suppose I’ve bored you now with my story, so if I could ask you. How would you feel about going on an adventure? Just the two of us…? It’s not a big deal if you don’t wish to do so, after all you just met me. It’s not always wise to trust people right off the start, so just take some time to think it over. I plan to leave tomorrow morning.”

“YES OF COURSE!” Catching herself she blushed, trying (and failing) to make the redness in her cheeks fade. “I mean...T-that would be gre—nice.” She stammered, hoping she hadn’t come across as rude or ... crazy even. She smiled lopsidedly at him. “It’d be fun,”

When he held out his hands with Cypher in them she almost gasped with surprise. “Really?” She cupped her hands out in front of her like instructed and waited for the tiny body to slide into them. When he did it felt like snake skin... Only not. It was similar and yet different at the same time, she couldn’t really describe the way he felt in her hands. “Poor thing,” She whispered copying Varonen and stroking him with just the tip of her finger. “He’s very... different. But cute different.” She laughed a little.

With a clicking noise she noticed that Geist was tucking his legs underneath himself. She felt a tinge of disappointment when Geist sprang from her lap, but he was so cute when he munched on the straw that she quickly forgot about it all turning her attention back to Cypher

“So umm...This adventure... Where will we go?”

Decadence - November 24, 2007 08:32 PM (GMT)
It was quite odd the way the two of them seemed to get along with each other, especially as easily as they had, but perhaps that was a sign. A sign of what would be the question though…Unsure of the answer, his attention drew itself from the dragon he had placed in her hands and up to her face. When their eyes would meet, a faint smile would slither across his face. It wasn’t often he shared such stories, or even felt so propelled to do so, but what surprised him the most was the fact that he didn’t want the night to end, even though he knew it would soon have to come to a draw.

A wry grin would cross his slender lips when she would blurt out a response to his question, which would make playing a game with her much more fun. Trying his best to suppress the grin, it would soon turn into that of a look of disappoint. It had been hard trying to manipulate his face like that, but he would continue on with a few soft words, “Wow…I hadn’t been aware that I bored someone so greatly that they would shout in response to my confirmation of boredom.” Unable to help himself, a smile cracked and a laughter would flow heavily from him. Lifting a single hand as if to tell her to give him a second, he would recompose himself before speaking, “I’m sorry, I’m sorry. I know what you were referring to, but I couldn’t resist. After all, I never had someone I enjoyed talking to so much and spend this much time talking with me. Or even talk to me period…” Lifting a slight brow at his own question that had suddenly presented itself in his head, he would simply shrug it off as though it were nothing at all.

She was different and he loved it, especially the way she behaved when it came to answering his question. Shifting his attention from his own thoughts, it would return itself to the question she had presented to him. Would she be ready or even prepared enough to go to the place they would? After all, it would be quite dangerous depending on what would be waiting for them on their way there. Besides, what kind of weapons did she possess? Unable to tell for certain just by looking at her, he would simply begin his pool of questions, “I have a few questions before I begin to tell you where we will go. My first being, what kind of weapons do you have…? Also, how well can you use them? And lastly, are you capable of using a bow should the need to do so arise?” By no means was he trying to worry her, but to simply gain an understanding of her own capabilities. Perhaps if she proved to hold no real training, then he would possibly offer to train her himself. It all would depend though.

Redirecting his attention from the matter of her weapons, he would continue by telling her where their destination would lie, “Alright, are you familiar with the city of sand, Istan? That is where I have decided to go, for there are a few things I need to do in that town. In order to get to that town though, we will have to cross a rather large desert and what resides within those sands is something we can’t take too lightly. I’m unsure whether or not I can handle one by myself, so I will need your help and that’s why I asked you those questions. I’m not going to lie to you, those things that run rampant through those deserts can destroy anything they come across and both of our lives may be in danger. So, don’t be afraid to back out if you feel the need to, but so long as I’m there I won’t let it come near you. I’m not sure how reassuring that is, but you need to let me know if this is truly something you wish to go through with.” A smile would slink across his face, as he reached a lone hand out to her arm, only to lightly rest it there for a moment, “I won’t be mad with you, whatever you choose. I’m not a spiteful person.” With that said, his hand would withdraw itself and he would simply wait to see what she would decide upon.

Samathan - November 25, 2007 11:31 PM (GMT)
Samathan entered the Stables, he had just been about to speak to Shadeen himself but blushed and stepped back seeing that she was with another man. Oh, just his luck he always chose to decide to speak to people again at the wrong time. He fidgeted shyly and looked up at them. Should he speak? Would they think it rude of him "The city of sand you say," he said softly a hint of shy awkwardness in his voice "that place is truly a magnificent place." He looked at Shadeen and felt a blush rising on his cheeks, she was obviously interested in this other man. So why was he blushing like a sunburnt Gryphon? Perhaps it was because Shadeen had been one of the first people to show him an ounce of kindness in Imythess "I...umm," he spoke nervously and hesitantly "I heard your voice Shadeen and I thought I would come and see if it was you," he said and blushed again. Drat it! Why was he blushing so much, he shot the other man an apologetic look, hoping he would understand.

He wondered if perhaps Shadeen would notice his blushing and if she did, what would she think? He did not know if there was anything between these two yet but if there was he was sure it would become evident. He was a warrior and here he was blushing like a school boy in love, what on earth was blushing him so. He looked at Shadeen and noticed she had caught him looking at him, this caused him to lower his head and blush even more "I am sorry if I am interupting anything..I just.." he said shyly looking at his feet. He was sure the other man would think him a fool and that Shadeen would too, he had heard her reply to his invitation to journey with her and it was this that made him shuffle embrassedly and shyly. Oh he was good at picking moments wasn't he, he rebuked himself mentally. He was curious as to how they would react and he didn't look at either of them as he waited for one of them to speak.

Shadeen - November 26, 2007 01:13 AM (GMT)
She smiled; the broadness of it seemed off on her slender face. Her eyes glowed when he mentioned enjoying her company and the fact that he could feel comfortable teasing her seemed their relationship had grown. Oddly enough it they had gone from complete strangers to friends, close friends. She felt that anything he asked she would answer, well...within limits.

Her grin turned into her biting at her lip when he asked about her weapon training and other such things. “Well...To be completely honest...” Her cheeks reddened. “I only have a katana, just a starting weapon. Umm...I know a little about bows, but just on paper. I’ve never used one...not really. But...But I could try.” She piped in, not wanting to be excluded from the trip for her lack of abilities. “My knowledge of using my katana is... well ... umm...” She was a little embarrassed. “It’s...limited to me playing around with it in open fields...hitting hay bales.” She blushed. “B-but my mother always said I was a fast learner so I might catch on quick if you show me a few moves.” She smiled at him, and her fingers absently twirled the little dragon’s tail.

“It’s very reassuring.” She whispered to herself. When his hand touched her skin she felt it jump and shiver. She tried not to laugh nervously and succeeded to a certain degree. Instead of a laugh a foreign sound escaped her lips. “Ah!” She clasped a hand over her mouth and blushed. “Oh I umm...like sand,” She said a little dumbstruck. “I mean... It sounds like fun. And there’s no way I’m letting you leave without me.” She smiled. “Oh! I’m really good with horses. If that helps at all.”

"The city of sand you say," A new voiced said.

She turned her head to see a man walking towards them. When he came into view she noticed it was Samathan. “Oh hey.” She smiled at him.

Samathan - November 26, 2007 02:55 AM (GMT)
Samathan sensed that Shadeen and the man were close friends but not yet together. Good she had not seen his blush, he stepped up to her and took her hand placing a soft kiss upon it in a very gentlemanly way as he been taught to when he was growing up "Shadeen I am glad I found you," he said drawing back with a smile. Realising he was still holding her hand he let it go slowly and blushed again, she would not be able to miss that blush "I umm...have been looking for you," he said shyly. This young woman interested him greatly "I umm...would like to get to know you a little better, the last time we met was a little...hectic to say the least," he smiled at her and his voice was warm as he spoke. He blushed again and looked at his feet, he wanted to be her friend "umm...Shadeen? Would you be my friend?" he asked, still incredibly shy for some reason.

Did she sense the feelings that bubbled just below the surface? That since their last meeting he had grown to like her, to be attracted to her. He looked over to the man who curiously remained silent through their exchange, he reached into his back pack and drew out some food and handed it to Shadeen "for you," he said softly.

Decadence - November 26, 2007 06:40 AM (GMT)
It felt like the two of them were the only things that had existed in these stables; the horses, animals, and rain all seemed miniscule compared to their conversation. It probably had been for the better, since it wasn’t often that he could simply sit and focus upon one thing, as opposed to devoting his time to everything at once. However, it would quickly become apparent that they were no longer alone as a voice sliced through the brief silence that had settled between the two of them.

Narrowing his eyes, they would slide themselves off to his immediate left, able to pick up a faint figure standing behind him. But as the man had continued to talk, his eyes would lighten slightly when he noticed that both of them had known each other. It was at that point when he would no longer feel as though Samathan was the intruder, but instead himself. The feeling would only become much more apparent when the man made his way past him and towards Shadeen only to kiss her hand. A faint twitch of a snarl would pull at the corner of his lips, but he would try his best to suppress his rising anger. After all, he had only known this woman for so long, it wasn’t like she was anything special to him, but he still felt as if they were somehow more than friends. It was slightly stupid to think that way, but he never shared such a close knit bond to someone before.

Slowly his eyes would slide shut, as a few wayward thoughts would wander through the caverns of his mind. There was no easy choice for his next action, but he knew which one would be right, no matter how much he had disliked it. Releasing a slight sigh, he would place a single hand down upon the ground, before using it to push himself up to his feet. Reaching an erect stance, he would stand now facing the man, a hand outstretched to him in greeting, “The name’s Varonen Skeirs. Normally it’s customary to introduce yourself when…” You’re eavesdropping, interrupting, spoiling…? So many words flowed through his head, but none of them would cross his lips. Instead, he would smile slightly before continuing, “You happen upon someone you don’t know, regardless if you know the other.” Shooting a brief glance off to Shadeen, he had wondered if she noticed the sudden change in his attitude and behavior. After all, he really didn’t want her to think he was trying to be a jerk or anything…

Samathan - November 26, 2007 07:00 AM (GMT)
Samathan looked up when the man spoke, he looked to him and in Samathan's eyes was a warning look, warning the man not to try anything. He apologised "I am sorry, how rude of me. I am Samathan Lynin, I am a friend of Shadeen's here. We met awhile back in the City Of Ruins," he shook Varonen's hand politely "forgive my intrusion, I heard Shadeen's voice and had to come see if it was her." He then turned back to Shadeen, so it seemed the other man had feelings for Shadeen as well, this...complicated things. Had Shadeen noticed that he, Samathan liked her yet? His blushing would make it clear that he liked her and she couldn't help but have noticed. The second he had met Shadeen he had liked her, she just had that affect on him. He then turned his attention back to Shadeen and blushed softly "Umm...I was wondering if you would want to accompy me to the Green Gryphon Inn later," he said. There he had said it "I will understand if you don't want to," he said "I just...ummm, had to ask you," he blushed a bright scarlet and looked at his feet. He shot the man a look which said Hey, I like her too. I had to ask her and he knew that the man would instantly understand the look.

He cared not what Varonen thought, he had to ask Shadeen this. It had been bottled up inside for for awhile now. That was one of the reasons he had come to the Stables, he had been hoping to find Shadeen so he could ask her this. He was nervous of her answer, but he had to ask it. He knew not how she felt about Varonen and if he didn't ask her to come with him to the Green Gryphon now he probably never would. The Green Gryphon was a place where young men liked to take the young women they liked, often to get to know them. But Samathan already knew Shadeen he just wanted to get to know her better. Perhaps ask her out, he blushed as he awaited her answer.

Shadeen - November 26, 2007 04:44 PM (GMT)
“I think friendships are things that grow over time, not just something you can ask for.” She giggled a little nervously, never had she been asked something like that before. She waved away his food having eaten already, hunger hadn’t crept up upon her yet.

Her eyes searched for Varonen’s unable to express what she felt, but maybe...just maybe he would pick it up in her eyes. She had felt so isolated in the barn it was hard to imagine that the world extended millions, maybe billions of miles to every side of them. Between the two of them she felt they had made their own little world, she blushed at the thought unable to express why she was even thinking these things.

She noticed the hardness that had crept into Varonen’s voice, but didn’t begrudge him for it. What was he to think anyway, if he felt the same way she could understand. Instead of trying to cut in she felt like the two men should work it out themselves. Even if she did cut in what would she say or do, boys will be boys seemed to be the appropriate way to respond...at the moment.

Samathan’s question threw her complete off guard and she stumbled to understand how it had turned completely to her. “Oh umm,” It was all she could say at first. Thoughts just flew through her head. She did like the taverns. Was this a date? She’d never been on a date? No it wasn’t a date. Just for fun. Wasn’t it? “Umm,” She felt rather stupid at that moment completely unable to answer. She wanted to go on the adventure, to be fair he asked her first....well okay let’s see... “I would love to,” She said, smiling and giggling nervously, still shocked from the question. “But I did say I would go with Varonen....How about when I get back? Is that fair?” It would give her a chance to get to know both of them better.

She managed another nervous laugh before turning her eyes down to Cypher and speaking in her head to him, unsure of what else to do. She ran a small finger over his indescribable scales and waited for the response of .... anyone.

Samathan - November 26, 2007 06:42 PM (GMT)
Samathan smiled at her "Well actually I was thinking of taking you now," he said and blushed deeply "but that depends on when you two are leaving?" he drew a little closer and whispered im her ear "Ummm... actually I was thinking of it as a date," he said for only her to hear. He smiled at her softly and blushed "umm...," he held out a warm hand to her in invitation "I don't want to be rude but I have kinda arranged something for you," he blushed deeply again and but the food back in his back pack. There he had said it, would she think him to odd "if you don't want to think of it as a date I will understand," he said for her to hear "it's jus that...I ummm...kinda like you," he admitted. He was glad that she wanted to come with him to the Green Gryphon Inn. He had had it planned already and he blushed a deep scarlet "Shall we?" he asked "I could have you back in time for your journey with Varonen here?" He blushed again and looked to her with a shy, nervous grin.

There he had done it, he had asked her out on a date. He blushed scarlet and looked at the ground as he waited for her reply. He had admitted that he liked her, what would she say? Would she think him wierd? He had never found it easy talking to girls, let alone asking them out on dates. "Umm... I will understand if you don't want to come now," he said his blush deepening which she would notice "it's just that...well I kinda have a table for us in the Inn. I'm sorry if you think this is too fast of me, its just that when I heard that you were in town I had to do it Shadeen. I have been wanting to for a little while," he said. Confound it, he was blushing again.

Decadence - November 26, 2007 08:41 PM (GMT)
As the conversation between the two of them had ensued, he felt like he was being pushed further and further from the conversation. Though, what few mentions of him had seemed to raise his spirits slightly; they would quickly come crashing down as the man asked her to join him at the current point in time. So many emotions flooded through him, that it had become far too hard to maintain them, but he still had done it, for her. The last thing he wanted to do was to make a scene, or worse make himself out to be the butt end of this whole ordeal.

After all, it had been her choice and he would have his time with her tomorrow…Or would she still go with him after tonight would be over? The thought had sent a chill down his spine, but he would ward it off the best he could. Absentmindedly his hands would clench and unclench themselves in a spasmodic rhythm, as the thoughts of him and her filled his mind. Would it be another repeat of the last woman he trusted, or was she different…? He didn’t want it to be the same thing over, but there was nothing he could. If he said she couldn’t, what would she think…? Surely it would sway her from him, but if he didn’t, would she think of him cowardly? Shaking off the thoughts again, he would remind himself that they had been far from being an item or anything close. After all, it had only been their first night together, but even that didn’t seem to quell the burning anger he held for this man before him.

Relinquishing an exasperated sigh, his eyes would shift between Samathan and Shadeen once more, before allowing a few words to escape parted lips, “Go on Shadeen, have fun. I will return come day break to this same spot and we can leave at that point if you still wish to accompany me. But don’t stay because of me, I’ll be fine. I’ve got a few things I should do anyway…” His words would trail off into the silence that lingered between them. Casting a final look towards Shadeen, he would flash a brief smile as if to reassure her that it would be fine. After all, it was her choice; he would reassure himself one final time. Dropping down to a slight crouched form, he would hold his hands out in a cupped fashion for her to return the dragon to him, but all the while his eyes would never leave hers. Would this be the last time he would see her, or would she be here waiting for him at day break? The thoughts wreaked havoc on his mind like a plague, spearing their way through every single distraction he could throw at them. Maybe it would turn out, maybe…

Shadeen - November 26, 2007 09:06 PM (GMT)
“Oh,” The single word escaped her lips before Varonen held out his hands for Cypher. She snuggled the little dragon in her hands before she gently placed him in his owner’s hands. She pressed her own hand against his a little too long before she pulled away. She reached out to Geist and rubbed between his ears. “I couldn’t go long without seeing you,” She whispered to him. She felt a fascination with the rabbit even though he just chewed at the straw while she rubbed his soft fur.

She felt a deep regret that the time in the barn had ended but at the same time she felt the bond they had built between them would last until tomorrow. “At dawn,” She smiled, “I promise to be here.” Which would be a feat for her since the morning was her nemesis, or she’d always thought that anyway.

She never took her eyes away from Varonen until she placed her hand in Samathan’s and let him help her up. Once standing she removed her hand and clicked to the gray stallion. He plodded over to her and she scratched at his forelock before promising to find an apple for him tomorrow. She lightly touched Varonen’s cloak, letting her hand trail along it before turning to the entrance of the barn. She took only a few steps before she turned around a stuck out her pinky finger towards Varonen. “Promise.” She said, indicated he was to wrap his pinky around hers. She smiled at him.

Samathan - November 27, 2007 12:52 AM (GMT)
Samathan smiled at Shadeen as she decided to come with him, but the way she looked at Varonen made his blush with jealousy. He nodded a polite greeting to the man as they turned and left the Barn "I am sorry to interrupt Shadeen, I just had to see you again," he said softly. As they walked away together, Samathan's hand sought Shadeen's nervously and he looked into her eyes with a blush on his face "Shadeen," he said softly "I have grown to like you since we last met. But...ummm... do you like me?" he blushed deeply after having asked this question. He mentally told himself that she would say no, how could she like him, no one seemed to like him, but he had to tell her the truth "Shadeen when I first met you I knew that I liked you. Theres just something you that intrigues me," he said and blushed again. How did she think of him? He shyly found her hand and nervously held it, giving it a gentle squeeze to show her he meant what he said.

Decadence - November 27, 2007 01:33 AM (GMT)
When she placed the small dragon in his hands, he would rock back to an erect stance, before placing it safely back within the binds of his armor. Where he had intended the dragon would rest up for their long journey tomorrow, but as for Geist…Geist could use the exercise. Once she had finished petting him, a few soft click would escape Varonen’s mouth to call the small rabbit over to his feet. The rabbit would respond, still carrying the chunk of straw with him the entire way. A soft smile would grace his features as he studied the small rabbit at his feet. Knowing that whatever would happen between the other two, he would never be alone. It was a reassuring thought, but one that still held no quell over his others.

Though, when she had promised him, he felt as if she would hold true to it. Moving over towards his cloak, he would pluck it from the stall and toss it haphazardly over his shoulder, before turning towards Shadeen one last time. Just then an idea crossed his mind, an idea that would all him to spite Samathan, at least one time in this whole entire ordeal with no repercussions against him from Shadeen. Reaching a hand in through the neck of his armor again, his hand would fish around and roam through the crevices that littered the insides until a sudden, “Ah ha,” would cross his lips. Withdrawing his hand, it would pull out a rather lush four leaf clover. Slowly making his way towards her, he would pause for a moment, completely ignoring the fact that Samathan was talking, let alone even standing beside her. Nodding his head slightly, “I almost forgot…I think you should hold onto this for me...” By the time the last word left his lips, he had a big ole grin on his face. Lifting a single hand up to Shadeen’s face, he would brush a few strands of her hair from her face and tuck them gently behind her ear, before placing the clover there as well. Tilting his head to the side, he would take a step back almost as though he had been admiring it and nodded with a confirmation, “Beautiful, just as I had guessed it would look on you. Now, I should really get going. I will see you tomorrow Shadeen, take care.”

As his attention shifted from her and back to the stable doors, he had almost forgotten the rain that had continued its hellacious decent to the Earth.
