Title: A Dark Study
Description: <Master Ace>

Lord Phiros - October 9, 2007 10:54 PM (GMT)
The rough terrain of the land, the smooth surfaces of the great lakes, the terrible roars of the monsters, the scarce looks he recieved in every single village he entered..... Phiros, the Winged Demon, grew tired of them all. For once, he wanted to lay low. After the troublesome guards in Taras, he felt the guards of any other city would only find an excuse to attack him as well. Luckily, word of a famous Magic Academy had reached Phiros quite some time ago, only he never actually had the time to seek this said Academy out, that is, until after the incident in Taras came to an end.
He flew high above the ground, his eyes scanning everything that crossed him, not a single pebble would go unseen. Finally, he came across a large, castle-like building. From what he heard, this was the location of the Academy of Magic. However, directions from a travelling weirdo was not directions Phiros felt like trusting. So he would land close to the building, and examine it before a single thought of entering it. With a loud thud he landed upon the open ground, mostly consisting of dirt, dry mud and strangely, manure. Horses must have traveled through here, however, that was something that Phiros did not care about. Not one bit. Just then, Phiros inched his way to the nearby door of the building. It didn't seem like a trap, or anything of that sort.... and he didn't sense anything that he would question.... so coming to the assumption that the building was safe, Phiros pushed open the large door.... and entered the fabeled Academy of Magic. Here goes nothing....

The halls were wide and seemed to stretch on forever. There were countless rooms on each side of each of the hallways. There seemed to be hundreds of hallways, stairways and windows. Too much for Phiros to even bother with. After all, he wasn't here to meet people or anything like that. He was here for study... and where would the best spot for study be? The Library. Books... I need books. All these people in here... there are so much of them! I hope it's not like this in the Library.... where is the Library, anyway? Phiros questioned himself now, his eyes shifting from one side of the entrance hall to the next. Come to think of it, he didn't know where anything was. He didn't know if the doors to his left were private rooms, or anything else. He didn't know where anything was! This was going to be a problem, seeing as Phiros wasn't exactly the social type of guy, unless ofcourse, he were in a pub or something like that.
Not wanting to ask for assistance, Phiros did the only thing he could do... and that was to seek out the Library on his own. Shouldn't be too hard to find...

Pushing through the students that filled the halls, Phiros came across another large door. It wasn't quite as large as the entrance door, but it was way bigger than the other doors. This better be the damn Library! Phiros said seemingly to himself, now overwrought with abrasive energy. He pushed the door open, and what he saw on the other side was a blessing. Not only was it the Library, finally, it was the largest, most magnificent Library he had ever seen. His eyes widened in surprise, his gaze resting upon the thousands upon thousands of books that were now before him. The room was massive, and yet it seemed cramped and small, due to the books that filled this colliseum of a room. Heh.... guess this place does have to have all records on every single type of magic out there... Phiros lifted his lean lips and formed the best smile he could muster. Without a second thought, he raced to the section of which the books of the dark arts resided. There, he would read, until he could read no more.....

Master Ace - October 16, 2007 12:10 AM (GMT)
Ace glided gracefully through the air under the moonlit sky. He was on his way back from the desert, a trip which had strangely proved more useful than expected. Ace's black hair tussled about in the soft winds that were bolstered by Ace's forward movement. Ace’s darkened eyes gazed down at the still land below. It was peaceful. Every since his wings had grown out, Ace had been at home in the air. It a pleasing and relaxing feeling to just glide through the air and take in the scenery even if it was scenery that he was quite familiar with. And after being at the academy for so long it was no wonder that the scenery was familiar for Ace was now quite close to Imythess’ renown and one and only Academy of Magic. He could see it in the distance and it wouldn’t be long till he reached his destination.

Dark eyes idly gazed into the distance as he wondered what all he had to do when he got back to the academy. The answer wasn't as exciting as he had hoped. The Academy of Magic was still fairly low on talented students, one of the few problems Ace hadn't been able to fix after becoming a magister at the academy. That ultimately meant that he had less to do at the academy. He didn't really have any classes he was teaching soon except for whenever his new acquaintances from the desert decided to give him a visit. With most of his management duties done for the week that meant that he had spare time for personal research; research of magic, spells, alchemy, ancient texts, and other areas of study that came across his mind. For now, Ace was quite pleased with his skill in alchemy, which bested all else in the academy. He wasn’t even sure if he could find the needed resources to get better at it, if indeed they existed at all.

When Ace landed in front of the academy he had decided to look up a few things in the Library. He wasn’t quite tired yet and the books he would need to be looking through were not in his quarters or the library in the tower of Arcana where Archmages were trained. He knew where he would find the books within the Academy library of course as he had seen to it organization several times over. Ace let himself into the academy and quickly made for the library. His tail swished rhythmically behind as he walked past shelf after shelf as he made his way to his destination. There were quite a few faces in the library, but Ace was quite familiar with most of them. From studious student to traveling scholar Ace had made it a point to know most of those that had frequented the library. As Ace neared his objective he caught sight of a figure he was sure he had not seen before. He appeared to be a human half-fiend, yet he couldn’t tell what sort of fiend he was half of. Ace was fairly sure this was the first time the Academy had had a half-fiend visitor in quite some time. Ace hated the idea of disturbing the man who seemed so absorbed in the dark books around him, but he couldn’t pass down the chance to get a new student to teach and the fact that Ace was sure that the book the half-fiend was looking through was one that Ace was intending to pick up himself. “It would seem you have quite the interest in the dark arts,” Ace mused his observation of the books around the half-fiend and the one Phiros was looking through. Not the best way to strike a conversation, but Ace claimed to be no politician or diplomat.
