Title: new allies

Darnasis - September 24, 2007 01:05 AM (GMT)
Darnasis walked in the library, looking around, i was told i could find him here. Detrious looked around again, picturing what an Archmage looked like. i walked around the library over and over again. there was people sitting all around me but i did not know who to ask. Darnasis walked over to an empty table, and i sat, pondering if i asked someone would they know who i was talking about but i kept quiet. Detrious looked around seeing if anyone was siting alone, but no one. my mind kept telling me to leave but i stayed, waiting and waiting. Darnasis started watching a half dragon, he had long, perfectly messy hair. His tail was that of a dragon and his wings looked like the could expand and touch both sides of the library. Detrious new who this person was now, but now he must approach him.

Darnasis walked towards the half dragon, as Detrious was about to say something, but turned, grabbed a book and walked away, i sat back down at the table. Detrious looked down and started reading the book he took from the shelf.

Detrious looked back up and did not look down until........

Master Ace - September 24, 2007 03:37 PM (GMT)
(Try to stay in either third person (Darnasis, he, him) or first person (I, Me), preferably third person. This causes less confusion and makes your post look better. Also when you use I, it should always be capitalized)

Ace combed his fingers through his green hair as he looked over the backs of the books on the shelves with his leaf-green eyes. Absent mindly he began making sure they were all placed in order, but it wasn't until a few minutes of the work that he had recalled that that wasn't at all the reason why he had been here. He was looking for a book on a fairly rare subject matter. He knew it was unlikely to find what he wanted here, but he didn't want to go did through the old hardly legible scrolls that would greet him in their more likely hiding spot in the library. Ace heaved a sigh as he decided to give up on looking for the book in this section. He didn't, however, intend to go back to looking for it right away though, instead Ace looked around the academy library and take a look at the students there. Most of the people in the library were students or magisters, and Ace was sure that he knew all but the newest of students which was suported by all of the familiar faces that greeted Ace's eyes. He didn't know them all by name, but he was sure that he knew them all.

Ace's intrigue was caught when he caught a glimpse of an unfamiliar face. The man had the look of a mage about him, which came as no surprise, and was quite a few years older than Ace, which still came as little surprise for the mage that was a magister since the age of 15. He certainly wasn't a new staff memeber, hadn't one those in quite some time, and that meant he was either a student or a visitor seeking knowledge and could easily become a student. Either way Ace figured it would be benifecial to introduce himself.

"Greetings, I am Master Ace, Magister here at the academy and Archmage Training Master. Are by any chance a new student here?" Ace smiled as he walked towards Darnasis.

Darnasis - September 26, 2007 10:53 PM (GMT)
" Hmm not sure, i'm here, i have checked out this book does that make me a student, or does that make me a visitor" Detrious replied, looking straight into master Aces eyes. Darnasis still did not trust very many people, but if he wanted to learn more then he had to let Master Ace know what was going on. Detrious knew Master Ace, not personally, but from his reputation. The rumors were that there was an archmage who was a most powerful being, if Detrious wanted more aire training then The half dragon was the one to teach him.

"If you are Master Ace then you are the one i am seeking" Detrious reported, " i am seeking some more skills in the ways of the aire, i was told you could teach me?" Darnasis was waiting or a reply. Detrious stood, coled the book, and just stared, as if they were waiting for a fight. Detrious has been learning the ways of the aire since he was just a wee lad, but all of those years only accumulated to a couple of spells. Darnasis copied Master Ace and combed his hands through his long black hair. Darnasis sat back down, waiting for Master Ace to sit, so he could speak to him without drawing a crowd. Detrious kept his eyes on Ace. Darnasis put out his hand, as if he was waiting for a hand shake. "Please sit, we have much to speak about" Detrious replied, now with a more serious face

Master Ace - September 27, 2007 01:19 AM (GMT)
(Don't forget to capitalize the I's ^_^ )
The mage before him gave little room for answers or even time for Ace to ask questions of his own. "On, no, no, no. You do not have to be a student to check out a book," Ace had barely manged to reply berfore the mage stating his intrest in Ace. Ace was not entirely surprised that the man had been seeking him and he was certainly not the only one to do so. There was after all a certain notoritiy that came with being archmage training master, near head magister at the academy for four years and of course being the academy's only half-dragon as well as the youngest magister to ever teach at the academy.

The mage seemed slightly paranoid, yet Ace was only the best at reading body langauge when it came to the somatic part of spell casting. "Ah, I see. I would be most pleased to help you in your quest to learn the ways of the wind," Ace said as he shook the man's hand before sitting down. He wondered where exactly the mage was from as normally it was customary to give one's own name before making a hand shake, yet it could easily be done differently in other realms. "So what is your name and which of these many matters shall we speak of first?" Ace asked as he sat down.

Darnasis - September 30, 2007 08:11 PM (GMT)
"I am Darnasis Detrious, sorry i kinda rushed my sentences, but i would like to get started." Darnasis replied. Detrious let go of Ace's hand, and looked across the table at Ace. Darnasis wondered if this meeting seemed out of the ordinary. Darnasis thought to himself wondering if a 19 year old half dragon, archmage, could help Detrious learn the ways of wind. Detrious new lots of air, but little of spells. Darnasis didn't know where to start, if he should tell Ace about his homeland prophecy or should he just keep quiet about it. He kept quiet, Detrious would tell him eventually but not now. "so can you really help me master the Aire, because I need to help people and i cannot do that if I'm waisting my time?"

Darnasis didn't want to sound rude, but he had to get it out of the way. Detrious wanted Master Ace to help him, or well needed Master Ace to train him, for the sake of Darnasis' Future. "I am sorry if I seem a bit rushed but i must hurry to help my friends and family." Darnasis said with a bit of sorrow in his voice.

Master Ace - September 30, 2007 09:53 PM (GMT)
Ace was intrigued by Darnasis's claim to want to help people with the aid he would be given, but quite annoyed by the Darnasis' paranoid need to ask if Ace could help again. There were clearly some dark secret hidden within his words. Ace would need to gain the mage's trust and expose them if he was trully to be of a help. Ace relized he could have merely porbed the mage's thoughts, but left the mage to his privacy, after all it would be very difficult to gain the mages trust if he were to find out.

"Yes, Darnasis. I can help you master magic of the Aire, but are you sure sure that this is the best way to help your freinds and family? Learning magic alone is ussually a time consuming process and mastering one element is even more time consuming. What is it that threatens your freinds and family? If you tell me I might be able to help you better," Ace replied calmly. Hopefuly this would help him get to the heart of the matter, what Darnasis trully needed. Ace could think of little situations where mastery of wind magic was needed to save others, in fact he couldn't really think of any that would require mastery of the wind and nothing else. Of course there were some matters of magic that even the most knowledgable of mages could not explain.

Darnasis - October 6, 2007 10:39 PM (GMT)
"My family and friends.....I left about three years ago, times were dark and difficult" Darnasis Kept going on with his story. "When I was a young boy, about the age of 15, I was told to leave when a terrible Darkness came over the small town, I ran and hid under an old house. I was there for a days past, when I came out nothing was left, nothing...but a note. I looked at the note, I decided to follow in my fathers path, and to master the air. you see the day after the incident, was supposed to be my first day of training. Thats why I am here now, with a few spells, and little experience." Darnasis Paused to catch his breath looking at Ace wondering if he was understanding his predicament.

"So do you understand why I am here, with you" Darnasis looked into master Ace eyes wondering if Detrious could tell what Ace was thinking...but nothing. Darnasis kept going "So when do you think we should start my training" Darnasis stopped talking now just siting there, waiting for Master Ace to reply and see if he believed me or not, for Darnasis' sake he hoped that Ace did believe him.

Master Ace - October 7, 2007 12:18 AM (GMT)
Ace was confused the man said he left about three years ago yet wouldn't that make him eighteen while the man looke at least 25. It was of course possible than the man was not actualy human but of a similar race or had some other complication that caused him to age faster. Stress was also known to age people faster. Ace decided this was not important enough to bring up, but he would to learn about the terrible darkness that plagued his town if he were to help effectively. "I understand why you are here, yet I do not understand your sense of urgency. It has been quite some time since you left. Also if I am to be able to help overcome the darkness which took your town, I would need to know more about it and prehaps what the note said," Ace frowned hoping that the mage would divulge more and help Ace understand the problem better.

"I can, however, please your ears by telling you that we may begin your training immediately, though a classroom would probably be a better place to practice magic than the liabrary. If you wish I can lead you to one and we may begin," Ace smiled. It would be a little harder for him to wind spells for a while, but it was an easy complication to fix as he wasn't to greatly aligned with the earth. He could slowly switch over his elemental alignment as they walked over and as he let Darnasis show the few spells he knew.

Darnasis - October 19, 2007 01:51 AM (GMT)
Darnasis looked at Ace and wondered if he could train Darnasis in any other skills while he was learning the ways of the aire. "Perhaps we could learn another element as well, maybe..pyromaniacs, or what do you think" Detrious either wanted aire and fire, or aire and earth. He looked down at the book, wondering if Ace could help him learn more than one element at a time. He looked down and grabbed the book, He stood up and "i will be right back i'm going to put this book back, then we can leave" Darnasis said. He walked towards the shelf he got the book from, trying to find its right place. Darnasis new that Ace could help him but didn't know if he could put the notes sorrow on Ace. Darnasis looked over to the table. Wondering if he still had the note in the back of his spell book. Darnasis walked over to the table sat down and pulled out his spell book.

"if you truly want to know what it says, than lead the way to a classroom, because in his library too many people can hear me." Darnasis said to Ace. Waiting for Ace to get up Darnasis put his spell book back away and grabbed his staff. Darnasis was sketchy about showing Ace the note, He wast sure if ace could handle it, or be taken down by it, like i was. Darnasis Stood up and told ace "Well do you have a special classroom or will any do for my training?" Darnasis waited for Ace too stand up, as he was waiting, Darnasis just kept looking at Ace.

Master Ace - October 20, 2007 05:50 PM (GMT)
Darnasis' situation seemed even stranger when he asked to learn of another element as well. Prehaps the mage was not in so much a hurry as he claimed to be. Possibly this was also part of following his father's footsteps that he had thought of handling after mastering the wind. Ace was about to answer that he could help the mage with that as well, but Darasis hastily made off to put up the book before they headed off to the classroom.

Ace got up out of his seat as Darasis came back. "Ah, good then we'll make our way to a classroom. We won't be needing a specific one as we'll start with simple spells and work our way up. Follow me," Ace replied before leading the mage to the nearest classroom. He'd done well to ensure that all classrooms were equiped well enough to handle at least the most simplest of spells for each of the basic elements as they were what most had an intrest in at the academy. They often studied the other magic types elsewhere or on their own.

"I can teach of magic of any other element as well. But the magic of Fire is called Pyromantics. Pyromaniacs are those crazily adoring fire. The last one of those we had tried to burn down the Academy with flaming meteors. Thankfully I had showed up just in time to stop her," Ace said to Darnasis as he lead the mage to the classroom. All the while he walked he slipped in a few simple wind cantrips which steadily changes his hair, eyes, and scales from green to silver.

"Here we are," Ace smiled as he opened the door to the classroom they had finally reached. He walked inside and waited for Daranasis at the middle of the room. The desks had already been pushed to the sides of the room which made the room much better for the practical use of magic. "So what does this note say?" Ace asked as he wondered what message the paper could possibly hold that needed such secertcy.

Darnasis - November 12, 2007 11:46 PM (GMT)
Darnasis walked in the classroom, he saw he desks pushed to the sides of the room, He walked over to one and placed down his staff and spell book, Detrious turned to the last page of his book and pulled out an old piece of paper. Darnasis turned and walked towards Ace. He looked down at the paper and started to read.

" Dear D.D, I know you were under there hiding, but your family wasn't so lucky. i'm giving you till the age of thirty. then we will meet, i don't care if your new friends are there or not i will come, and you better be ready. If i come and you defeat me the friends and family of your past will be back in the real world, they will know of what went on. But if you lose, well lets just say, you will be with them just not in this world. Be very sure of what you want. Find it. Remember i will be there when you are thirty. If your ready or not. We end it." Darnasis paused and looked up at Ace, Darnasis had a angry but serious face, but with one single tear, ran down his cheek and landed, frozen on the ground.

Darnasis looked down at the ground. " i just thought that if i get more powerful than i can save them and save myself" Darnasis looked back up at Ace. Detrious stood there looking at Ace waiting for a reply.

Master Ace - November 14, 2007 01:43 AM (GMT)
Ace studied the note's message carefully. There really wasn't much hint of who the person was. The person obviously had a clear tie to the village and in particular to Darnasis's family if not Darnasis himself. Most likely this was some vendetta against Darnasis's father which would certainly explain giving Darnasis quite a number of years to look like him and likely at the time which started this vendetta. Ace was doubtful of the villain’s truthfulness about bringing the village back, but the mage had most likely kept the villagers in some fashion to amuse himself until Darnasis reached the ripe age of thirty. Fifteen years after all was quite some time to bide one’s time.

“What a curious device of some twisted mind? Who ever did this was someone who knew your family well and held a bit more than against them. The culprit also had to certainly be an accomplished mage to make an entire village disappear. Battling this villain with magic of the wind alone might not be enough to best him, particularly since this fiend also managed to apparently best your father who I assume was fairly masterful with the magic. A focus in general magic is recommended for being able to best the unknown tricks that this mage is surely to have up his sleeves,” Ace explained after mulling over the note. Ace could see how note had brought tears to the mages. To have that taunting warning as the only rememberance of his family and freinds was horrible.

“Of course suggestions aside, I’ll teach you that which you wish to learn, but before I begin to teach you anything, do you mind showing me the spells that you know?” Ace said as backed away from the middle of the room and gave Darnasis room to cast his spells.
