Title: The first portal
the forsakend one - September 19, 2007 08:05 PM (GMT)
Are you sure This is the place where the portal is?
Eynalis told to Kalarn. He still didin't knew his name, but he didn't mind.
They just reached the top of the falls. He only knew that they have to seal some portals, that's it. As Kalarn said, it should save the world. For his own good, Kalarn shouldn't lie about this. Eynalis will be mad. Eynalis looked at the falls, wandering where this portal can be.
Midnight Dragoon - September 20, 2007 09:43 AM (GMT)
Kalarn wento to the edge of the cliff and sighed, saying, "We're at the wrong place." Kalarn ushered Enaylis over and pointed to a dot that was growing larger at the lake far below. Kalarn swore loudly and grabbed a protruding rock and started the long climb down.
He could tell that the portal was forming, and the defenders would come soon. Kalarn quickened his pace and shouted out to Enaylis. "Let's go! We're at the wrong spot, the portal's down there!" He pointed at the dot that was still growing larger as a mass of water started forming.
He continued to crawl down as he thought. When we get down, it will likely try to drown both of us. We should kill it before it gets too big. The bigger it is, the more likely it will be able to turn into other guardians. That is a risk I can't take.
the forsakend one - September 20, 2007 12:48 PM (GMT)
Wouldn't it be much easier, safer, and quicker to take the road down?
Eynalis said, while climbing down. He knew that Kalarn will slow them down at the end - living things getting tired easly.
But I must warn you about one thing - I live by killing others. As powerfall as The necromancer is, he is not powerfall enough to animte me completly. I need necrotic energies to live. I have not killed any living thing for a while.
Eynalis said and smiled. Pushing that human down if what he needed. But no, not now. He had to wait. He would wait until they are out of danger.
Midnight Dragoon - September 21, 2007 05:41 AM (GMT)
Kalarn laughed. He would not, could not die. He had so many times been called immortal by drunken fools. He was told by wise men, that 'Time is an wheel, always turning, you break this wheel's attempts to destroy you.' Kalarn would always smile at this.
Of course, the police always said, "I'll get you someday, and you'll hang!" But he always got away, sometimes just barely. No, he was an old wolf, with scars marking another battle he had survived.
"I must say, I won't die by your hands, nor anyone else's." He truly was an old wolf, scars showing the end of a skirmish, only to continue anew. As an old man told him, "You must have accepted death to survive thus far in this world." Kalarn had accepted death, he knew he would be consumed by it, but not anytime soon.
Kalarn continued to climb down as he pondered death. Death was truly a strange thing, grows with a man, same as his shadow. Some say death is a man's shadow. With age, the shadow grows stronger, until it grows unstoppable, and the man, and his shadow die.
the forsakend one - September 21, 2007 09:22 PM (GMT)
Eynalis smiled that that made the human laugh. It wasn't a mocking laugh as much Eynals could see, but what does he understands about human laughs? They are so different then undead laughs. Eynalis was a bit higher position then Kalarn now. He can just kick him and see how he falls. But, maybe Kalarn wants to die? Maybe, he want to be an undead too? No, he must be a drunken fool to want to be an undead. But that can wait. Eynalis is not powerful enough to raise him as a flawless undead, or atleast an undead bright and skillfull like Kalarn.
Tell me, isn't there a more logical way to get down? A spell or atleast a road?
Eynalis said, while looking down. It was a bit more then a mile of climbing down, it could take them hours. Maybe even too much time to seal that portal.
They will sooner or later run out of things to hold at, and then what? And what would happend if Kalarn will get tired?
You still didn't tell me your name, human.
Eynalis said. He knew that he needed somthing to talk about while climbing down, or else they will both get bored to tears.
Midnight Dragoon - September 22, 2007 02:34 AM (GMT)
Kalarn could hear Enaylis's questions and ignored them, for the moment. He looked down and saw the mass of water. Thankfully, for the moment, it did not know it could become more than one.
Right now, it was swirling like a top. It would be so easy to dissapear into the whirlpool, to forget the troubles of life. Kalarn shook his head and continued to climb down. "Name's Kalarn."
Kalarn looked back down and the water coul see them, and it was taunting them. Kalarn unruled his wings, a gust of air blowing back his cloak. His strong black wings were trully memories of battle, it was scarred all over, although, this was from the torture of the cruel children he grew up with.
They were truly suprised when they were all tossed into the river close to the village. That was true revenge. Kalarn realized he was still gripping the rock with his feet and pushed off, and got ready for a dive, one that would destroy the guardian for a good amount of time.

( Sorry for the time it took me, I've been into greece)
(Did you just jumped the cliff!? I didn't understood what you have done, so explain me next post)
Eynalis Kept the climb down. He had no idea Where the portal is, what made him a bit mad.
Don't worry... You shall destroy the guardian. But you have to be quick.
I am going to help you, with the rest of the dark spirits of this world.
Eyanlis heard someone talk to him inside his head. But Eynalis did fill stronger - It was like someone is trying to help him. He felt evil then ever, more willing to destroy. He wanted to push Kalarn so badly now!! But he had to take control on himself.
Kill that fool!! You can do it without him!! Take the glory for yourself!
I will kill that fool, in time. I need him now to show me the way!
Eynalis said. How he cursed his stupidety!!
He was almost sure that Kalarn heard him!! Oh well, Now he is stronger then ever, he should not fear from Kalarn. But a conflict between the two will end the world.
He had to avoid from that one.
Midnight Dragoon - October 8, 2007 05:11 AM (GMT)
"I will kill that fool, in time. I need him now to show me the way!"
Kalarn heard that and said, "So, you plan to kill me, well, you will find it takes more than a will-o'-wisp to kill me. Stay close. You may find, that if you kill me, all will fade." He turned to the guardian, and swept his hand over it.
Immediantly, a wave of purple magic, sharp as a blade, swung out, and cut through the guardian, cutting it, forcing it to become water once more. The water fell to the lake, and formed back, barely touching the surface of the lake. The guardian looked at Kalarn, and shot a large ball of what seemed to be sludge of some type.
The sludge flew past him, and struck the wall with a sickening plop, and trapping a swallow beneath it. Kalarn cut it, deep enough to free the bird, but shallow enough so that it was not cut by the blade. The bird flew away, and dropped a feather at Kalarn's sword hilt. Kalarn smiled, and put the feather in a pocket hidden in the cloak.
Kalarn reached out for Enaylis, as shouted, "Hold on. We are going to go down to the portal right now." He tensed his wings. They were going to fly down, fast as a dart, and with the sword held out in front of him to become a dart.
((OOC: He is going to fly, back then, he was hovering though.))
the forsakend one - October 8, 2007 01:18 PM (GMT)
They were about to fly? Should he trust that man?
He had no other choices but fly, so he holded Kalarn to make sure that he will fly with him - flying alone won't be fun. It will, but the landong won't.
Wouldnt it be wiser if I blast the damned guardian with my Haunting Tide spell? He won't be able to fight back!!I can't concentrite while flying!
Eynalis shouted, hoping that Kalarn can stop the flight.
Oh well, he didn't even hoped not to fight - if the masters of this portals are so strong, that the guardians most be strong, strong enough to resist the spell.
Or maybe there are many on them? All he oculd see is water over there.
Midnight Dragoon - October 11, 2007 06:40 AM (GMT)
"Wouldnt it be wiser if I blast the damned guardian with my Haunting Tide spell? He won't be able to fight back!!I can't concentrite while flying!"
Kalarn shook his head. Enaylis must not of understood the limitations of migick. The stronger of heart you are, the more powerful it would be, and therefore, the longer it would be able to go. Enaylis's heart may lack the courage to hit that thing with enough power to defeat it, but Kalarn's would be more likely.
"You wouldn't be able to defeat it, if you are lucky you won't be able to hit it hard enough to get it to notice you. Besides, you need not concentrate. Just attack it hard with your spell, and I'll attack it with my spell. If we are lucky, we will subdue it long enough to seal the portal, then we split."
Kalarn gripped Enaylis's hand so hard, he thought he might break the undead's arm. He realized he had settled down onto the edge, and he jumped, jackknifing.
He fly throught the clouds of mist, his wings pinned at his side, making his flight like a arrow.
He unfurled his wings out at the last second and shouted, "Now! Use haunting tide!" He grabbed his sword and shouted, "I can give you a little time, but not much!" As if to show his point, he slashed away a questing tendril of water.
the forsakend one - October 11, 2007 01:10 PM (GMT)
Little time is more then I need!!
Eynalis said with a smile. His arms glowed with dark green and black light.
The guardian charged at them, but then he saw ghosts coming for their aid. He thought that the ghosts are one-hit-one-kill ghosts, but he had no idea how wrong he was. As the guardian landed a leathel strike at one of the ghosts, it didn't hitted!! Its like they were air! The ghosts looked poor, misrible, tortured. They had a sad face.
Save me...
Help us...
Ahh...
The ghosts said. They circled the guardian, and he tried to hit them again and again. No effect. The touched him, And he was filled with fear. The enterd his body, and then the guardian just stood there. Doing nothing. He was filled with fear, and hoplessnes. He saw moments of their last minutes - tortures by demons, undeads, and many other horrible moments. At this moment, the guardian wanted just to die.
We don't have much time!! seal the portal once and for all!!!
Eynalis yelled. This spell was powerful. So was the guardian. It a few moments, the spell will be over.
Midnight Dragoon - October 11, 2007 10:33 PM (GMT)
Kalarn raised his hands and started to use a spell. He could see that the monster was getting weaker, until it wa shrinking. His eyes opened wide and made magical energy into a shield around both of them, and luanched it. Not a moment too soon, the guardian lashed out, creating a wave of water. The magic wave nuetralized the water one, and the guardian looked even larger, two large chunks of coral sticking in his shoulders.
RAAAR!!! The guardian roared, sweeping aside the ghosts in a wave strong enough to bowl over a dragon. The guardian moved in a connection similar to a man panting, out of breath. Then, he lashed out again, striking Kalarn in the chest, flinging him far away from the battle.
Damn. I need to cast the spell to defeat it, but it may just transform again! Damn! I am running out of options here. Kalarn flew back, his wings pounding, and he shouted, rising to place his hands on the creature's "head", "I summon the hammer of Thor!!"
A lightning bolt flew down, piercing the guardian, making it shriek loudly, making parts of the cliff break off and splash into the water. Fry marks covering it, the guardian shrunk, wrapping its arms around itself, as two bracelets began to form on its arms, and a crown on it's head. The water in the guardian became the equivalent to white-water, the the water swept, shooting harmless foam at Enaylis and Kalarn. "Aw Cute."
the forsakend one - October 12, 2007 11:42 AM (GMT)
As the wave hitted Eynalis, Eynalis tried to jumb to the lake near it and hide from the huge wave. Bad for him - the wave got there first. It did hitted Eynalis, but not to badly - the water made the crush soft, and its just water after all. Is that damn thing dead allready?! Eynalis yelled, and healed his wounds. But what happend to Kalarn, he did not know. He could not find him. Eynalis worried that he was crushed on a rock, and if that happends... Who will lead him to the other portals? Kalarn?! Where are you for death's sake!? Kalarn was a somthing Eynalis just couldn't loose now. After that thing with the portals, its fine. But there are still a few portals remain! Or maybe Kalarn is out of Eynalis's sight? Maybe he is swimming? Or maybe he managed to fly away? Well, Eynalis guessed that he is flying right now, with angels.
He was filled with sudden rage. Dark rage. Somthing even more evil then him possesed him. Someone is going to pay for this!!!
He yelled and charged, going forward the portal. He IS going to destroy that thing no metter the costs may be! He just hoped that Kalarn took the guardian to hell... If not, it might be Eynalis's final end.
Midnight Dragoon - October 13, 2007 01:13 AM (GMT)
"Someone is going to pay for this!!!" Kalarn heard this and shouted, "No! Defeat it first!" The guardian heard him too. The monster said, "I, Raan, trusted with the portal of Kalark, beseech you to be calm." Then, it lashed out with its arms and swung a wave of water at Enaylis, not about to allow him to seal the portal.
"I beseech you to be calm! Obey my command or drown! Fine! Drown it is!!!" The monster swung wave after wave at Enaylis, trying to drown him. Kalarn watched this, and swum back, he could not fly, the magic of the guardian would not allow him. He finally got to him, and leapt, stabbing it with the sword, and shouted the only thing that could of stopped it.
"I summon Thor's hammer! Smite the unlawful!" Another lightning bolt flew down, going down the sword, making Kalarn scream in agony, but making the guardian shriek in death's clutch. The creature was going to die.
The water flowed back into the lake, and the water was calm once more. The portal opened slightly, the imprint of a claw on its surface. "Now! Seal it! To seal it, condemn it to the Abyssal Chasm! Do it now!!!"
the forsakend one - October 13, 2007 09:00 AM (GMT)
Eynalis was deep underwater when Kalarn shouted something he could not hear. Good thing that Eynalis is an undead - he cant be drowned. He doesn't need to breath. Then, When he saw that the water stopped splashing, he was ready to charge. Will you just die!? He screamed, sure that the guardian still stands. And there he was - standing infront of the portal, able to destroy it with one swing. I can destroy it and save the world...But I can help Kalark by not sealing it, and get amazing powers. I can then escape to another world and be the most powerful necromancer ever lived! The power should be mine! But then he rememberd at dead Kalarn, poor guy. He sacrifased his life to save the world - not to see Eynalis getting powerful. That was his death wish, something that Eynalis did respact. In dead Kalarn's name!!!!! Eynalis striked the portal with his staff, and the portal just exploded with a huge flash. When the flash faded, Eynalis couldn't see the portal, but he could see Kalarn.
Midnight Dragoon - November 3, 2007 12:05 AM (GMT)
"In dead Kalarn's name!!!!!"
Kalarn swum above water, and leaped, shouting, "I'm not dead yet!" Kalarn watched as Enayli struk the portal, the creature falling on the portal, and he watched with grim seriousity.
Kalarn closed his eyes, and he was still nearly blinded by the wave of light that came from the portal closing. He flew up, getting a bird's-eye view, and he swooped down, reaching for Enaylis's hand.
"Hey, Enaylis, I ain't dead yet." Kalarn started laughing, laoudly, as if the whole thing had never happened. As if, life was at peace.
((Okay, next topic is in Therab the Valcanoe, although this one isn't done yet.))
