Title: What is this?
Description: P(Faust)

Tock - September 14, 2007 08:11 PM (GMT)
Tock was on his was to Kellen through Debon plains when he noticed something he had never seen before in the distance. It was some shining light noticable despite the fact that it was a clear skied midday. Curiosity compelled the moogle foward, though he knew that it was also curiosity that caused him to get into many stick situations, that along with his cursed wings. With his luck he was likely following some illusion that would either get him lost, put him in terrible danger, or both. He didn't see any roads headed that way, but he didn't let that stop him. He rationalized that he could find his back if it was nothing important ahead of him, though history begged to differ.

Tock was surprised to see another village on the plains, paticularly one with a shining Chathedral in the middle of it. Tock was sure he hadn't heard of anything like this, but he had been spending a lot of time in Cascadia and Taras lately. Apparently long enough for a shining Cathedral to be made. Tock had aqcuired a few strange looks as he passed through the street, but that was normal he got those everywhere afterall few people had ever seen a moogle before and the certainly weren't native to Imythess. Tock had quickly learned to not let it bother him.

Tock halted when he reached his destination just before the Cathedral. It was a marvelous building and obviously important. What it was for and why it glew with a warm light was beyond him. Silently he debated asking one of the villagers about it and walking inside and seeing for himself, though he was not sure he would be welcome in such a glorious structure.

Gregory Faust - September 14, 2007 10:45 PM (GMT)
Gregory smiled at the little girl before him as he handed her a white rose from the depths of his robes. He wore his typical white clothing with blue lining that had been crafted by the elder women of the clan. The girl blushed shyly and ran skipped off, wiping the tear-stains from her eyes. She had scraped her knee just outside of the gates, but aware of the healing powers of the clerics, she had come in to receive healing, and found herself in the safe hands of the God of Light. Gregory felt a pang of guilt as she innocently ran off to the door to resume her play. She had been a daughter to a Faust worker, a male whom had died in defence of one of the smaller settlements, and her mother had recently been having a hard existence before they were brought here.

The village acted as a haven for those with nowhere to go, be they Faust or not, and recently many people had been added to the Faust clan. This girl's mother was taken into a home with another single mother much like her, and the two had been working together with other people while their children were cared for with the others. They would be schooled by a scholar of the church when they became teenagers, but Gregory toyed with the thought of teaching them himself. He stood tall and lightly brushed the sleeve of his fine outfit, watching her easily push the door open and skip outside. The door remained open to a sight Gregory had not seen before. Piquing his curiosity, he walked over to the small, white-furred creature and bowed low.

"Why, hello good sir, for I am Gregory Faust, and I welcome you to my temple," he rose and gestured to the main hall. "Please, come in and rest. Food will be set out shortly to fulfill any appetite, but if you are in need of food now, I an assist. The Debon Plains are hard-travelled for some." He moved aside to give the creature room by him. He debated whether it spoke any language at all, and also began to debate if it was some kind of creature closely related to the angelic chippicana. As if triggered by the thought, the chippicana zipped out from the private chambers and chased after the girl to play, Gregory approved.

Tock - September 15, 2007 03:51 AM (GMT)
An angel emerging from the catherdral disrupted Tock's thoughts. He had always admired angel wings, they were beautiful symbols of purity and his were the mark of curses and misfortune. Tock surprised when the angel approached him and of all things bowed before him. Surely this had to be some illusion of some sort. Yet, it seem so real. The voice that spoke to him was kind yet lively, too lively to be an illusion, yet almost to kindly to be real. Tock on had been on imythess for a fair amount of time and never before had he received such undeserved kindness and respect. He had come to accept that one cursed at birth such as himself deserved neither.

After Gregory mentioned food the moogle did notice that he was a bit hungery, but he didn't want to be a bother and knew he had his own small lunch packed. Tock was more interested in finding out more about this preist's temple which held an unescapable enigma. Before Tock could open his mouth a curious small creature zip past them from the temple's entrance. Tock was curious about this usual creature, yet was more earger to learn more of the temple.

"I am Tock, Mr. Faust. I thank you for your offer of hospitality, but I have my own food I brought with me and I couldn't possibly intrude on anything," Tock said as he issued his own low bow. He still only thought that Faust was some high preist, but even so Tock used similar curtesy when dealing with everyone wether of high or low status, partially because Tock saw no status lower than his own.

"I am however most curious of why this temple glows so and what it is for," Tock added as he straightened.

Gregory Faust - September 15, 2007 11:10 PM (GMT)
Gregory nodded and smiled softly at the creature's rejection of a feast. He would not so easily accept the moogle's decision, but he would not press the matter any further for the moment. Gregory motioned for the moogle to enter as it continued speaking. For, although this was not his first guest to the temple, it was his first of this type of creature. The question suprised gregory, as he had yet to be asked why his temple glowed, but he was not hesitant to answer the creature.

"Ah yes, the temple shines with a warm light at all times as a signal for those who wander the desert. The cathedral itself is the Cathedral of Light, home to the god of light." Gregory smiled yet again and insisted, "Now do come in and eat, I won't take no for an answer. Also, we will restock your packs for free for you before you make your leave, which you may whenever you so desire. My temple is your temple."

Tock - September 16, 2007 03:13 PM (GMT)
"The Desert...," Tock repeated in his head. It was quite far from the wide open plains. The cathedral was indeed quite the enigma in mor than looks. Could it truly be possible for this sight to reach out so far yet be kind on the eyes up close? Gregory continued on before the question could be posed and Tock became quite unnerved at Greg insistance upon his entrance. Surely it would be most disrespectful to decline such an invitation, yet undoubtedly more disrespectful to the god of light for a walking omen to enter the cathedral.

Tock's eyes shamefully drifted to the ground beneath him so that his head hung low. "I fear one so cursed as myslef is unworthy of the privlege and honor of even entering such a holy place, Mr. Faust. The gods of my old world seemed to think so, and I fear the gods of this world might not think so differently," Tock replied in a meek voice barely audible to anyone further than Gregory. He wondered if the veiws of this preist could differ so far from the god he serve, but then again the preist might not know he bore two omens of ill on his back, a god however would not likely let such a detail escape him.

Gregory Faust - September 16, 2007 07:42 PM (GMT)
Gregory listened to the small creature’s words with a kind sorrow in his eyes. For he himself was cursed with his obsidian hand, a sure sign of the evil that will always be after him, but he idly wondered just how Lynthaer would take this unfolding of events. It was no matter, as of now he had a whole people to worry about, and with the presence of this creature his work may have grew ever larger. The beast lowered its gaze in shame as it labelled its wings as a curse, and told of how the gods of a different world were so cemented in the same belief. Gregory wondered exactly how some cold the gods could be, but he assured himself he would not be like them.

"I assure you, my small friend, the God of Light sees no curse which makes a character unworthy. The God and his followers will protect any in need and any ill omen you may bring will be dealt with. Please, I insist that you come and make yourself at home. Perhaps I can help relieve some of what troubles you." Gregory positioned himself besides the creature and lightly patted its back to indicate it should enter.

"No matter the curse, the god will see you as you are inside, and will not judge you by what has been forced upon your conscience." Gregory had seen such things before, and he himself had been judgemental of those who were set on a path unavoidable by them. He was forced to change, as now he could afford no enemies, but was faced with many. Each person was a neutral when the god first meets them, how they turn out later is how they design their presence and how the god reads their intentions.

Tock - September 16, 2007 10:50 PM (GMT)
(Ack, sorry it's a tad short)

Despite the preist's kindness he had not expected such a reply. He still felt uneasy by the going inside, yet the preist had indeed countered any excuse Tock had not to go inside and he was forced to concede. Tock lifted his gaze back to Gregory's eyes and he was not surprised by the kindness and caring he saw in them. "I shall trust your kind words then, Mr. Faust, and I thank you for them," Tock sighed before issuing another bow both out of habit and gratitude.

It seemed that it might behoove him to learn more of Imythess' gods in paticular the god of light for there was no wasy of him returning to his home world. The preist would atleast be able to tell him of the God of Light, if not of the other divine beings of Imythess as well. "If you are not busy, Mr. Faust, would you mind telling me of the gods of Imythess, in paticular this benvolent God of light?" Tock asked as he started to walk inside. He hoped the preist did have time to spare and if he did he certainly wouldn't mind talking about the god he worshiped.

Gregory Faust - September 17, 2007 12:05 AM (GMT)
((OOC: its aight, look at my posts. X.X I don't give a damn))

Gregory nodded approvingly as the creature gave up its defence and was ushered into the entrance hall. The creature thanked him and vouched his trust, and this was good. So far he had definitely been making progress with the small entity and he felt like he was coming close enough to be able to just flat out announce that he was the god, but he would wait for the beast to ask the right questions. He shuffled along the marble floor and approached a large stone table, which was no longer occupied. Moving a seat back for him and the creature, he took a seat and locked his fingers.

"Ah, the other gods of Imythess. As far as I can tell, they are all quite alike in some respects, and very different in others. I have been fortunate enough to befriend Meera, the god of Water, and to have fought alongside the god of Fire. The god of fire I suppose had much the same personality as fire. She was quick to act and rage on until she basically burned out, but she was always quite ready to lend a hand and fight for others. Very much chaotic." Gregory grinned and tried to mask a slight darkening of his face.

"As for Meera, the god of water, She was very much different. She was calm and thoughtful. On the occasions that I met her she always maintained quite a cool head and was orderly and just. She was my favourite god, and she even had me contemplating focussing on the water element more. I had something of a boyish crush on her, I suppose. " Gregory laughed lightly at himself and locked eyes with the odd sapien creature, his purple gaze piercing into the very thoughts of the creature.

" Now the god of light is the one you share a particular interest in, no? There is not much to tell about him, and I would assume by now that you have a good idea of who he is, and his mannerism. "

Tock - September 17, 2007 04:21 PM (GMT)
Tock followed Faust to a now empty table and waited for Faust to Tock to sit down first. It was respectful to let the host take his seat first. Tock took one that was a little highered, presumably for children and the few short races of Imythess. When Faust did begin to speak of of the other gods, Tock was quickly confused. The preist made it seem as if the gods were indeed...people, a concept that seemed to make little sense. What's more the preist was not speaking of the other gods as a preist normally should. He was speaking of curious notes that were not likely to have been held by a mortal. Even in the event that Gods did exist as actually people, it would not be likely at all that the preist of the god of light would talk of the other gods in such a way.

"...You mean to say that the gods are actually...people.... and you are the god of light?" Tock asked wondering if it were indeed possible that he was looking at things from the wrong perspective. Was Imythess truly so different from his own world? Then again if Faust was indeed a god, shouldn't he have prehaps been more respective in one manner or another? Worry clouded his eyes as he wondered if there things he should have done in this encounter that he hadn't.

Gregory Faust - September 18, 2007 06:48 PM (GMT)
Gregory smiled and nodded in reply to the first question posed, and upon the beast asking if he was the god, his small smile grew to a healthy grin. The small creature had been going out on a limb with the question, but his inquisitive nature would be rewarded with the self-satisfaction of solving the mystery. Gregory intertwined his hands and rested his elbows on the table as he prepare a response.

"In Imythess, all gods start as mortals. I had my start in a small manor outside of Kellen, learning magic from my father. I eventually grew and as I aged on and learned my invaluable lessons, I was apparently deemed worthy the god of Light. It is unknown what force decides the gods, but I believe it is the elements themselves that decide." Gregory took pause and rested a single hand on the table before him, channelling the light of his aura to his hand to attract attention to it.

"Alas, the gods are chosen and in themselves recreated as immortal gods, keeping the values of their life enhanced with the knowledge of the world. And thus we are charged to create not life, but hope and balance," His hand lifted to reveal a small white mouse curled up in a protective ball, "And it is my hope as a god that I live up to my title and help as many as I can in the struggle to maintain balance. Now I have a question for you, as my boundless knowledge apparently is filled with holes. May I ask you exactly of what race you hail, and what realm you once called home?"

Tock - September 18, 2007 08:16 PM (GMT)
The explaination was most curious indeed and quite confusing and kept Tock's mind from troubled thoughts. The gods were not truly immortal gods, yet they held the power of gods and this Cathedral was a true testament to that if it could indeed be seen from the desert. Despite the bizarre logic behind it Tock did not doubt that the god of light spoke true. Prehaps the true gods had either been long since forgotten and were simply content to govern the world through the miracle of mortals gaining godly powers. This certainly was different for things in his own world.

It was not so surprising that Faust's catherdral was created so close to Kellen after his very abridged version of his life. Still Tock wanted to hear more from Faust and prehaps of valiant deeds that he certainly must have accomplished, yet all things were to come in due time. Tock had questions of his own past to answer for. Questions that were brought up in every stare and quizical glance yet had never been asked till now. Tock gave a sigh and and turned his gaze from the small mouse in Faust's hand to look Faust in the eyes.

"Mr. Faust, I am Moogle, a race I would assume is unique to the land of Ivalice. Most are born with wings of black, but there are a rare few with wings of red, and they are a terrible omen and quite ill fated. I was sent to imythess after an accident in My Unlce's Lab. I had simply found myself in the pitch blackness of Balefire," Tock explained. He didn't really want to go into his past nor the escape from Balefire in more detail than that. It was then that he wondered if even these godly mortals had similar moments in their life.

Gregory Faust - October 16, 2007 09:57 PM (GMT)
Gregory absorbed the moogle's words, never losing eye contact and reading into the volumes spoken through actions over words. There was definitely more to this story than revealed, but for now the god of light would keep the moogle in high-spirits and allow it to relax without the worry of a god's piercing gaze. He relaxed his eyes and smiled lightly. "I can assure you, my moogle friend, that no ill omen will harm you here. Besides, I happen to think red is much nicer than black." Time for a change of subject.

"So you're uncle was something of a scholar? Alchemy, perhaps? I was never much for such sciences, but I have always prided myself in being something of a scholar." The mouse in the angels hands had pushed it's way out of the god's grasp, and darted off the table to the rest of the cathedral. The cleaners would not harm the creature, as it was not the only one Gregory had made, and each one was identifiable by its pure whiteness in color. He had recently discovered this wonderful ability to create life, but he would be sure to slow down on its use and not take such a beautiful gift for granted.

Tock - October 18, 2007 02:48 AM (GMT)
Tock was quite caught off gaurd by Gregory saying that he favored red over black. Was having red wings truly so bad? It didn't make Tock any less envious of Greg's white feathered wings, but was something to thing about. Even if Greg had once been mortal, he was now a god and Tock imagined that they something of what they talked about.

"I'm not sure if he was into alchemy, but I do know he had quite a thing for magical items and trinkets. But what of you? What does a godly scolar take interest in, if I may ask?" Tock asked as the small mouse darted off. Tock wondered if there was any connection between the newly created mouse and Gregory's scholarly intrest. Prehaps animals were his interest or maybe just animal behaviors. He wondered about this even more when he saw another mouse crawling alongside the far wall in the distance. That one was probably born right out of the god's hands as well.

Gregory Faust - October 19, 2007 06:19 PM (GMT)
Gregory lifted his right leg over his left and leaned forward, intently listenning to the moogle, engaged in it's words. Gregory loved to talk about this sort of stuff. Books and research were his bread and butter, and truth be told he would trade his godhood for all the books in the world. "Ah, so he had an interest in magic. Then me and your uncle are not so different. I am also a fond researcher of the arcane and how it may be used better than how we do. Often we convert such a gift to weapons for war. I am also taking a keen interest in the slow advancements of technology and how some day it may even put magic to shame, who knows."

"Did your uncle have control over magic, or was it simply magic-infused objects?" There were a few scholars in the cathedral right now who were inable to use magic, but researched the items and abilities, and could in-fact create them with the aid of stones made by a mage.

Tock - October 19, 2007 09:03 PM (GMT)
"He could use magic, but favored collecting magical items. He also had a liking for tinkering with trinkets with complex parts, so I guess he was much like you in your intrest in technology," Tock replied. There was no mistaking that Gregory was interested in the matter, so it was quite obvious that the god had said he had an intrest in magic and technolgy to get on a commonality with his uncle. It was however a curious coincedence, though magic seemed to be a popular study among most people here on imythess as well as on Ivalice.

"I managed to learn a few cantrips from watching my uncle, but it took me a while to learn those and we moogles are supposed to have a certain flair for magic," Tock said trying feebley to think of a way to continue the conversation on Gregory's favorite topic.

Gregory Faust - October 20, 2007 09:18 PM (GMT)
"it seems to me that your uncle and myself share the same interests. I would surely someday hope to meet more of the moogle race, as they seem almost akin to my own moon-elf in interests and gifts." Almost immediately, Gregory began plotting out just what books he would need to review and the rough amount of magic and aid it would take in opening perhaps a portal to their world for him and a few others to pop in. he would go there to learn of their people and their gods, and perhaps to establish a system of peace in which the two worlds could come together. But that was for another time. Gregory listened as the moogle before him explained his loss for a magical flair.

"Tock, my friend, just because you lack the flair for magic that your people carry, does not make you inferior to them. I am sure that you excel in much more than most moogles could dream of, and your knowledge must be more bountiful than their own for having the best of both worlds. I am sure that even with a loss for magical prowess, few moogles would now be a match for you. Many people often interpret the melee fighter as much weaker than the caster, but many are mistaken in this. Magic has many more flaws than most would like to believe."

Tock - October 20, 2007 10:10 PM (GMT)
Tock loooked down at Gregory's reply. Everyone had something they were good at, everyone but Tock. His greatest ability were drawing trouble and getting lost. He worked on his skills with blades, but he didn't think of his skills as much better than his knowlege of magic. He didn't consider himself very knowlegable for he was often wrong. He wasn't very good with people as there were plenty who had acted meanly against him. He guessed the only thing he could do decently was fly, but weren't all winged creatures supposed to be at home in the air. It was almost ironic that his omenous wings were the only things that made him good at anything. He did of course have notabably more skill with flight than he could credit himself for. He was also fairly good with animals, but that didn't quite come to mind at the moment.

"I'm afraid I'm not really good at anything, Sir. I've worked on becoming good with a sword, but my skills don't quite surpass my feeble skill with magic. I'm certainly no more of a scholar than I am a mage or a warrior. The only things I seem to be good at are getting in trouble and getting lost," Tock replied in a soft meek voice.

"I guess the only good thing I'm passibly good is flying, but it nothing special."

Gregory Faust - October 25, 2007 02:46 AM (GMT)
Gregory intently focussed on Tock across from him, chewing his finger out of mere habit as he went over the moogle's words. Gregory smiled lightly as the moogle finished with his declaration of flying being nothing important. How many hours Gregory had toiled to gain the use of his wings, and after much and much flight he was still fairly useless with them, and opted to crash-land when nobody was watching. Apparently this small creature, due to being shy and an outcast, had developed quite the inferiority complex.

"Tock. Before I became a god, do you know what I was good at? My greatest skill was putting myself into sticky situations and over thinking each action. I was knee-jerk and hyper-active to quite the degree. I was decent with the spear, but nothing special, and to this day I fly like a drunken heron. I suppose my greatest useful ability was that no matter the situation, I never gave up and hid in myself with my weakness. I worked to curve them. I donated hours and hours to curve my weakness to strength, and I never succeeded. Yet, here I am today, with my own cathedral meeting people who far bested my mortal coil."

Gregory made a point of his obsidian hand, which often was overlooked for some reason, as if his aura hides it. The black metal hand was covered with daemonic runes in red scripture, and long fiercely pointed ends. It was most definitely a feature unseen of a god of good. "This hand, is the manifesto of a darkness inside of me. All people contain a difference, some of us are unlucky enough to have it displayed so prominently. As your red wings have set you an outcast, the clerics of my own temple deny that this hand is a sign of any evil within their god, but it is not a sign for them, it is for me. I received this hand the same time I had received my wings, and I never really understood its meaning until I had reached deity hood."

"For it is a curse and a blessing that we bear Tock. For these are lessons to us from a power beyond me. Your wings may mark you an outcast or ill omen to your people, but for you they mark you as different. You're path varies from the norm, and whether this is for the betterment of yourself, or not is your decision that none can make for you. I chose to bear this black metal hand, and to this day I do not treat it as an enemy or ill omen. I treat it as a reminder that although I may be a figure of good for the people of this land, I must be true to myself and the balance of my spirit. You have possibilities far beyond what I myself ever had, and were you to embrace your difference rather than carry it as a bad burden, you can mould it to your benefit."

Tock - October 25, 2007 10:56 PM (GMT)
Tock looked up as the god of light spoke. He was quite surprised at what Gregory had to say. He doubted the god of light would lie for any reason, but it did seem that he certainly had to be exaggerating to make Tock fell better. Surely flying couldn't be so hard, but then again maybe larger wings were harder to fly with. Tock was also surprised when Gregory comapared his hand two Tock's wings. He had noticed the hand, but didn't think much of it as his mind was busy trying to find the answer to other questions. Tock found the idea of looking at his wings as lessons an interesting one that he would certainly have to think over. Tock had never thought of his wings as a blessing as well a curse. He even used them less often because what they were.

Gregory had given him good advice as well as his time which certainly had to be valuable as the god of this bustling cathedral. Tock could do little to repay such depts to others, and certainly not truly do so for the god, but he had to try. "Thank you for your words of wisdom. I shall have try and think of my wings as a blessing as well as a curse. For your wisdom and time alone I owe you greatly. I must repay you. I do not know how one with little to offer may do so, but I must. Your generosity has been far too great for me to do nothing in return," Tock said as he summoned up his strength. It was possible that Greogry could give him a task that could be dangerous, though even if that were so he would trust the god's judgement. Perhaps such a task might even help him protect himself and others rather than simly being a burden to be helped all of the time.

Gregory Faust - October 25, 2007 11:20 PM (GMT)
Gregory smiled as the moogle seemed to almost relax, as if his spirits had been relieved of a burden of sorts. Tock offered his thanks, and Gregory nodded, but as the moogle explained how indebted he was, the god of light shook his head. "Do not be foolish, you owe me nothing. For if I made everyone who comes through here with a problem pay for my services, I would be a richer man with less followers. Yet, I shall accept your apology and graciously accept your offer of aid." Gregory locked his hands once again, resting them on the table and leaning in again towards Tock, his eyes demanded attention.

"Although you may have not yet see your skills, I have and I am indeed in need. As you may be able to see, my cathedral is a busy place, and spare time to leave it is few and far between, although leaving it is necessary. You are indeed good with your wings, and I know that you can protect yourself. I now have a request for you. I would give you a place to live and food to eat for as long as you live on this world, and all I would ask for in return is your help. I am in need of a representative. I need someone who can deliver messages to other gods and followers of my own religion swiftly, and without so much as a stir. I want you to be my right-hand man. You would become a member of my order, and a most respectable one, with only the task of flying to the other temples on occasion and perhaps aiding me in some of my more, governmental chores. This may all seem a bit rushed, but I have this feeling of trust that I cannot ignore, and I see that you are clearly the best for the job."

"The career would not keep you here in the temple, you would be free to travel as you like, also, but it would give you a pattern in life that some of us so desire. You may turn down my offer and little harm is done."

Tock - October 26, 2007 12:18 AM (GMT)
Tock expected Gregory to say that there was no real need to repay the favor, it was cerntainly not an uncommon thing amongts generous hosts such as the god of Light had proven to be. Tock had not expected the offer in which Gregory gave that would serve as pay meant, though from the ensaring look in the god's eyes, he could tell he was about to say something that was something that was certainly very important and serious. Tock's eyes opened wide when Faust mentioned that he wanted Tock as his representative. He had went to investigate a curious light and ended up getting offered a great honor among honors. Tock feared he was not up such an important task, yet at the same time it was not an offer he could refuse if he wished. It was a great honor he was being offered and to turn that down would be quite disrespectful to the God of Light, despite the fact that the god said that he could turn it down with no harm done.

When Faust finished speaking Tock took in a deep breath and dispelled his fears. If Faust thought he was up to the task, then Tock would trust his judgement. He had resolve to trust his judgement for any other task and this should be no different. It would help him meet people, make freinds and give him a place to stay. "I will graciously accept this great honor that you claim is fair payment and I shall do my best to prove I am worthy of such an honor," Tock said as he bowed his head foward. It felt good to get it out though he still knew that it was a very big thing he was taking on putting on his shoulders.

Gregory Faust - October 26, 2007 05:34 AM (GMT)
Gregory watched the moogle's thoughts perform a complex dance of confusion. The moogle's eyes were as large as serving plates, and for a few moments Gregory honestly thought the poor thing would feint. To the god's surprise, Tock was quick to straighten his appearance, and seemingly come to a decision. The god was thrilled with the revelation of his first actual chosen, and now employee for the cathedral and right-hand man to the god. The thought that it hadn't even been a creature of this world never even occurred to him, though the moogle had certainly been here long enough to earn his right as a civilian of this plain.

"Oh yes, very good, very good. I will be sure to introduce you to the priests of the cathedral and whatnot in due time, or allow you to introduce yourself. But at the moment we have more present things to attend to." Gregory straightened in his chair, cupping his hand and channelling his godly energy's through his palm to weave the very creation of life. He had been practising a lot lately, and he figured he should have the process down fairly well. A warm light seeped through Gregory's finger, and as the light faded and his fingers moved, there stood a purely white dove. At least on one side.

The dove's left wing held one defect. One long black feather that still did not steal from the majesty of the creature. Its eyes were golden, with the image of a constantly moving sun for one who looked close enough, and its feet were a light pink. The dove calmly stepped from where it was rested on the table to the moogle before it, and cooed softly in recognition. "the dove is a marking of your entrance into my chosen. Name her what you like. She is highly intelligent, though lacking the capacity for speech and will remember her name. It appears she has also been given a slight flaw in her pure white color, but I am sure that you will not think of her different for it."

Last but not least, Gregory pulled a smaller golden chain with a golden sun emblem attached and slid it across the table to Tock. "This is nothing but an ordinary old pendant, but it is much more recognizable to the common people than a dove, and the commoners are our target audience." Gregory smiled and extended his flesh hand to Tock, "I welcome you to the chosen of the god of light, and your new home in the cathedral of light. I have a few good starter missions for you to accomplish to get a feel for the people around here, but for now I shall leave you to eat up and rest for as long as you need. At the end of the center hall is a portal, you will be able to pass through as you are a chosen. From there you may pick a room of your choice. The rooms are quite simple, but if you wish to have it lavishing or simpler yet, ask me and it shall be done."

Gregory stood, rubbing his obsidian hand which had begun to ache again from the flow of holy magic through it. He looked down to the moogle confidently and nodded. "I am confident that you will live up far beyond your own expectations in this, and I will be there to help guide you along the entire way." Gregory nodded one more time to the moogle before turn his heels and walking down the middle hallway and to portal leading to the Chosen's room and his own. He would like to see through his window how yet another follower fared at accomplishing his mission. So soon and he was already building up a team to do battle with the forces of evil. So far, they had remained quiet and in the shadows but Gregory knew damn well that he was not to underestimate them even though they appear to be asleep. he would build up a strong force before making any moves.

Tock watched as Gregory let light shimmer forth from his hands once more. He was creating another mouse or prehaps and creature or maybe even an item of some sort. It did turn out to be an animal after all, but not a cute little mouse. Instead it was a magnificent dove. While doves were generally holy symbols of peace, which would certainly make sense for Tock's paticular task as Chosen, he wondered if there was some other reason why the god had chosen to create a dove. He made a note to ask the god, but not yet, the God had much to explain and apparently another gift to give. As if sensing a new playmate, starshine flew out of a flap in Tock's backpack and flew to the table. After an exchange of neighs and coos the two creatures took off and flew about the temple. He hoped they wouldn't be too much a bother to anyone, though Faust didn't seem to mind. He knew he needed a name for the dove, but it needed to be a good one and his mind was presently too busy with other thoughts for that.

Tock gentely picked up the amulet as if it were a delicate and prized object. He normally refuse so many genorous gifts at once, yet he understood that all of these were a part of the station Tock had agreed to take on. While Tock had an intrest in seeing the rooms, he wasn't quite tired yet and was quite eager to know of these starter missions were. Tock got up and followed Gregory as Greogory moved to the strange portal. He wondered where exactly it lead, but he supposed he would find out soon enough. With the fair bit of distance to the portal and Faust's silence, Tock supposed that now might be a good time for his simple question. "I am thankful for all your gifts. I am just curious as to why of all animals, was the dove the most significant to you?" Tock asked while trying to be ungrateful for the dove, which he certainly was not afterall he wasn't good enough for any of these gifts he was getting.

((OOC: Short, but what can you expect. I'm just proud I got on and typed something up))

Gregory paused for a moment, the tip of his finger locked in his teeth. He turned slowly and gazed at Tock for a while before realizing that he had been asked a question. Smiling sheepishly he moved his hand down to take an assuming position on his chin. he had never really thought about why the dove had been chosen. It had almost been a given to him, but he supposed that there could have been other animals, or symbols.

"I suppose it was just the sensible choice. The dove is the international sign of peace. Doves act also as delivery animals or guides, making it easier for my chosen to help them find their way around the land. I suppose if you truly wanted, I could fetch for you another creature." His hands clasped infrom of his stomach and his head tilted slightly as he wait for a reply. He supposed it wouldn't hurt to work with requests.

Tock was neither surprised nor disappointed. He had thought that maybe the dove had held some great significance to the god, or even to his own task. The god's answer of course made sense, and a dove would likely be a more agreeable symbol than the mice the god had created earlier, despite them being cute as.

"I understand now. My apologies if I seemed ungrateful, I was merely curious and that would certainly be one question I should be able to answer as your herald. I am certainly happy with what you have given me and have not room to ask for anything else," Tock replied. He couldn't ask for another animal if he wished, particularly since the creature seemed to be made for one purpose. Tock was of course happy for having his new freind.
