Description: (Open!)

Hymwen Darkstar - July 25, 2007 04:10 PM (GMT)
There were bandits running around lately, in the fields, she heard they were trying to kill a gryphon, they were most likely thinking it would be a great prize to have. Hymwen, was sent here, from Balefire to take care of the problem, and here she was, to take care of it. she wondered if other rangers were around, but obviously not. She rode Frolba at a gallop, down and up hills. She had to find the gryphon and bandits quick. She had reports that there were quite a few. After a short ride, she heard fighting, and cries as the humans attacked the gryphon's and the gryphon fighting back. The bandits threw rodes, and nets, trying to get it, to kill.

She stopped Frolba a little ways away, but in bow range. She grabbed her bow and an arrow out of her full quiver. She put the arrow on the bow, pulled the string back, and then let the arrow fly. It went fast, and hit a bandit in the should, he let go of the rope he had, and turned around, staring at the ranger wood elf.

The bandit drew his sword, and came charging after her, while the others struggled with the dragon. Hymwen dropped her bow, pulled out Neversleep, and hit Frolba on the sides, and the horse right away went into a canter, and as she ran by the bandit, she swept her sword out, and in a flash, the bandit fell to his knees. Hymwen kept her horse running, towards the others and the gryphon.

The elf jumped from the horses back, and landed on her feet, the horse ran off a ways. Hymwen pulled out her other longsword, and slashed at anyone bandit in her way, ignoring scratches she got from the bandits weapons. As she fought a larger bandit, the gryphon tried to get out, but most of the bandits tried to ignore the fight, thinking only to get the gryphon.

Nariwa Kona - July 26, 2007 10:21 PM (GMT)
Unaware of the situation roughly a half mile ahead of him, Konahomaru trodded through the Debon Plains alone. As was usual, of course. Traveling companions were hard to come by for one such as himself, and, they were not necessary either. He had not been on a quest of any sort in so long, all his old allies had lost touch. That is to say, they either were killed or had wandered off and never returned... With the exception of maybe two, or perhaps four...

Nevertheless, as this brief train of thought entered into and left the celestial infused's mind, he had reached the apex of a slight roll and rise in the plains. These were not anti-typical of any plain, and afforded a view of many miles outwards on a clear day. Nariwa Kona then saw what he heard of only a few seconds previous, there was some sort of struggle happening beyond.

Squinting out the sun slightly, Konahomaru focused on the scene before him. Several men were struggling with a gryphon, and it seemed a third party was about to be involved. A female rider came charging in, firing a bow shot, dismounting, and then entering the fray. Her sword techniques were somewhat familiar, but Kona shrugged it off. It wasn't uncommon to find other sword fighters imitating the moves of the best mortal sword fighter in all of Imythess. A title he carried with pride, although not with arrogance or haughtiness.

It had been illegal to hunt down Gryphons for some time now, and no doubt the female was a ranger of some sort. However, even though she managed herself well enough, she was failing miserably at preventing the bandits whom outnumbered her from capturing the creature.

Konahomaru decided to help. His muscles coiled slightly, and then released as he broke into a sprint for the situation. Knowing he would be spotted from afar before he could effect any fight, Konahomaru drew his Lightning Blade and started to summon lightning bolts upon the bandits. Storm clouds started to move in, with greater rage and swift fury as bolt after bolt barraged them. They were not terribly accurate, however, the deathly electric rays did serve to cause confusion and dissaray. One ray struck a bandit that was cluthing the net with which they trapped the Gryphon. Screaming in abject pain and horror, the bandit fell to the ground limp and smoldering.

Hymwen Darkstar - July 26, 2007 11:18 PM (GMT)
Hymwen took no notice of a coming figure, her thoughts were on the battle, trying to keep calm. Suddenly, someone swung a mace at her from behind, she dropped to the ground, rolled on her back, and blocked a swing that was aimed at her again. She was outnumbered, and she knew it, and dealt with it, she wouldn't let some fools kill a gryphon. Thinking of that, she glanced the gryphon's way, and show it continued to struggle. Then, a sword nearly got her, but she quickly swung the up, and cutting the mans hand off. She quickly jumped to her feet, and drove the blade into the now handless man, killing him.

Then, she noticed the dark clouds, and the figure that was getting closer. She didn't pay much attention to him, because the man with the mace attacked her again, he seemed to be planning on bashing her head in, but she jumped backwards, but hit the larger bandit she was fighting earlier. The larger bandit grabbed her, and was about to slice her throat open, but she rammed her elbow into his gut, quite hard and it made him stagger.

Then she spun around sent an attack at him with her longsword, then stabbed him with Neversleep, right then, before the man even fell over, did she turn to another opponent, the one who had the mace. Before she could act, the man hit her with his mace on her left shoulder. Luckily he hadn't hit hard, expecting Hymwen to block it, but she didn't have time to. She staggered backwards, dropping her longsword, but Neversleep firmly in her hand.

Anger flashed in her eyes. Her old anger she used to fight with, but now it was calmer. The mace bandit was advancing toward her, and took another swing at her, but she dunked, and charged forward, her right shoulder against him, knocking him over, and she stabbed her sword into his heart.

Nariwa Kona - July 29, 2007 02:51 PM (GMT)
The ranger was in the thick of the battle, blocking hits and being bounced about unwillingly as she was forced to move where the bandits were striking upon her. However, she was holding her own well still and managed to injure or take down most of those currently attacking her. Konahomaru took his attention off of her breifly, for he had problems of his own as three of the large group turned on him. One with two shortswords, another with a mace as well, and a third with a whip.

A strange weapon to choose, a whip. But Nariwa Kona had no doubt there were metal filings, bone, knots, and all other assortment of dangerous objects twined into the leather. Kona stopped to get his footing and drew his Force Blade. Now holding the two most dangerous weapons in his arsenal, the Force Blade in his right and the Lightning Blade in his left. Although Kona was generally a single weapon fighter, in situations where he was outnumbered he used two. A defense tactic mostly. Kona was confident in his strength and speed over these men, but it was still good to be cautious.

The bandit holding the two shortswords came at him first, screaming as he charged. His heart was not into taking on the celestial all by his lonesome, and his cries were attempts to rally his own fighting spirit rather than to intimidate. This Kona could tell, and he took a small amount of pity on the man. Making many frantic slashes, they were all parried by Kona. The holy warrior squeezed in a few counter slashes, and soon the man's chest was a bloody mess. Nothing there was fatal, except for maybe the blood loss that would soon occur. Pain was the dominant force in the bandit's body now, and his animal instincts took control. It was either kill or be killed. The bandit lunged at Konahomaru in a desperate strike at his heart. Konahomaru matched his lunge with a diagonal parry from his Lightning Blade. The godly sharp steel sliced through the man's own sword, the force of the strike breaking his wrist.

Then, a sickening 'shuck' was heard as the Force Blade entered under the rib cage and penetrated his lung and then his heart. The bandit died almost instantly, and Kona drew his sword from the attacker. He fell to the ground in a bloody mess, and the other two bandits rallied themselves. Both ran at the celestial, the first to strike was the man with the whip. Konahomaru tried to bat away the stinging leather with his Lightninb Blade, but instead it wrapped around the base of the sword where the hilt meets the blade.

A flash of steel was seen, and Kona quickly hit the deck as the mace passed through the air where his head had once been. Using his free weapon, Kona slashed at the mans legs. He succesfully struck his left foot, partially severing it at the ankle and bringing the large bandit down on his back. A splash of blood covered Kona's white robes and mixed with the dust and grass.

Soon, he was being dragged across the grass by the one with the whip. A sharp pain was felt in his shoulder, and Kona looked over to find a throwing knife buried in it. Kona released his lightning blade, and quickly stood up to gain his bearings. The celestial fired a potshot at the bandit with the Force Blade and missed, but it was sufficient enough to distract his attacker...

Hymwen Darkstar - July 31, 2007 02:07 AM (GMT)
Hymwen was panting slightly, her forehead sweaty with the battle, her legs felt weaker, but she would not give up, it was one thing she would not do, not when a creature was in danger. After stabbing the bandit in the heart, she twirled around, though, a bandit didn't come right away, most were dealing with the gryphon, but then, a tall bandit, came charging at her, with a two handed longsword, swinging wildly at the young elf ranger. She just barely got out of the way, but then her shoulder got skinned by the blade, and she swayed a little, off balance, but gained it quickly enough to block the next attack that was aimed at her neck, and hit the other blade with such force it made the bandit nearly drop his blade, but just managed to catch it, and swing once more at her.

She continued to block attacks, with her two blades, though, there was never an opening for her, till she charged forward, and brought both her blades up, and then cut downward, planing to hit both the mans shoulders, though, he only managed to block one blade, while the other cut through his shoulder, severing his left arm, and then dropping his blade, but instead of staying to fight, he took off, in fright, running away from her, and his comrades.

She glanced over at the man who was helping her, and who was not too far away. He seemed familiar, though, she hardly had time to think of it, as he was overcame by a few bandits, and because she had a job to do, to free the gryphon before the bandits kill it, that was her objective, if she failed, then she did, and it would make her a bit sad, but next time she would try harder if she did, so, she turned and charged into the fray.

When near a bandit who held a rope, pulling, she was about to thrust her sword into his back, but it was like he knew she was there, and turned around very quickly, and then quite suddenly, stabbed Hymwen in her right arm, and she dropped Neversleep, and she fell back, clenching her arm, while the other bandit dropped the rope, and picked Neversleep up, and grinned evilly. and then, she cursed herself for not being so well with the left arm, but when the man attacked, she blocked it, though, she became exhausted, and now she was blooding and didn't have a time for healing it, but she wouldn't give up.

The man continued to throw swings at her, still using her blade, and she still managed to block them, but then, their blades connected, and he pushed hard, knocking her to her knees but she pushed back, till it made him off balance and he stumbled, though, out of reach of her longsword. Then he came back, not stopping till she would lay dead, but she didn't stop blocking the attacks, because she told herself over, and over again she would not give up.

Right then, her eagle Swift, came, and attacked the tall bandit, mostly flying around his head, and screeching, till the man dropped Neversleep, and tried to get the bird away. Hymwen dropped her longsword, picking up her magic blade, spoke a word of magic, while the blade tip was touching the man, and then, quite sudden, he fell over, asleep, as that was what her blade did, make people sleep for a short period of time, after that the eagle soared into the air circling the battle.

No time for rest... keep going Hymwen, it will be over soon... soon... She told herself, standing, but then behind her, was another bandit, hitting the hilt of his blade against her spine, making her fall to her knees, then, anger flashed dangerously in her eyes.
