Title: The Rains Stories

Kenji - July 19, 2007 05:35 AM (GMT)
Some raindrops may be small but they tell many stories. If you listen carefully to the whispering music of the rain it will tell you a story. Sometimes stories about love, love that is so deep and powerful that it could worm even the darkest of hearts. But that’s not the only kind of story the rain can sing. Some of its tales turn into tragedies. So sad that even the mountains fall and crumble in sorrow. Sometimes, when the rain gets further into it’s tale it can become spine thrilling. This fear angers the rain as it wishes that it did not have to tell such terrifying stories and so it booms its words out with lightning and thunder. Then once it has settled down it begins to cry. It cries for the people in its story, as it knows that only it can understand its tale. It weeps. It weeps for us all.

Tonight it falls. It’s telling a new story, but the story has only begun. It can see the man walking all alone not too far away from the Bloodseal Tavern. It knows he has no family. No home filled with those who love him dearly. It also knows that deep inside this man wants to know love. Love like most other creatures knew. Love that he would probably never feel. So instead that spot is filled with resentment and rejection. This time the rain is falling for him. It is going to tell the world what happens tonight.

He had been sitting alone in the dark city. Watching as a woman was attacked by another creature of the dark. For a while it looked like the woman would have been killed by the end of the night but luck was on her side. Another man came out from the shadows giving the creature of the dark a quick blast on the head. The woman seemed to know the one who saved her for she called him by name and fell into his arms. There they kissed before leaving to do what ever they did.

A few moments later Kenji watched as two small children and a mother walked by. Each laughing, and talking quietly as they went by. Two brothers met up for the first time in years. They shook hands and headed off to find a bar. A man and woman walked by with a small child in there hands. Everyone had a family they could remember. Someone to love them.

Something inside Kenji began to grow hotter. He could feel his heart beating faster with every being he watched pass by. Jealousy was what it was. A jealousy that pained him greatly. He knew that was wrong of him to feel hate towards these people. But he did. He hated them all and struggled to keep his hate under control. But it seemed the struggle was just too much for him. It caused him to fall to his knees; his arms and legs trembling uncontrollably.

Letting out a loud cry of anger and hate, Kenji shut his eyes and pounded the hard ground with his fists. After hitting the ground a few too many times Kenji allowed his body to go limp. Using up his energy wouldn’t change anything. He would still stay miserable and alone.

The sound of soft footsteps echoed not too far away causing Kenji to quietly pull himself up. A sly, evil grin then crossed his face as he stood. A grin that told his demon self he was hungry. Hungry to see someone else in as much pain as himself.

In a quick motion, kenji opened his large coal wings raveling underneath a long black tail. A tail that looks just like the devils it’s self. However the tail was nothing of importance. He had always had it, as it was a sign that he was a demon.

“Someone’s near by” Ken whispered to himself as he quickly lifted himself off the ground.

The rain knew what was coming. It knew the dark man’s intentions and so it began to sob. There was nothing it could do. No one could hear its words of pleading.

Kenji flew just above the ground, making himself high enough to see someone in the distance. He did not seem to care that the freezing rain was hitting his face. Hitting him as violently as it could. It seemed that even the wind could not make the rain strong enough to stop Kenji.

Once he had spotted the figure ahead, ken let himself drop softly on the ground. His feet had made a soft thump which caused the other being to jump and turn around.

It was a boy. Only about nine or ten years old. He had been left all alone after his house had burned down. He didn’t know how long he had been out here for, but he knew it had been for a while. His mother and father had told him to come here. This was his safe spot if anything should happen to his home. He was supposed to come here and wait until his parents arrived, but they did not come. He had to of been waiting for at lest 5 hours now. Something inside him kept throbbing, making him continue to wait for his parents. The parents that would never come.

“A young boy should not be out on his own so late at night.” Ken hissed through his large, dark grin. Just the look on ken’s face had scarred the boy enough to stop him from crying. “Why aren’t your parents with you child?”

At the first the boy could not find his voice. He wasn’t sure why, but he knew it had to be either because he had been crying so much or because he was too struck with fear. Heavens knows, it might be both reason. Either way, the boy had to take a moment to clear his throat and find his voice.

“Th- there was a-a f-fire” the boy managed to chock out, “I- I’m waiting for m-momma and papa to come.”

“Well in that case I hope they are dead.” Ken snickered at the boy, his evil grin growing wider as he watched the scarred expression on the boys face turn to horror. “Because they will be coming back to a dead boy.” And before the small child could completely register what was said, Kenji’s wings shot open and the boy was knocked down by a powerful blow to the face.

Tears of pain had begun to fill the boys eyes as he lay there on the ground. His body told him to get up and run but he couldn’t. Shock had taken over his body making it so he could do nothing more but lay there. Then he felt the weight of ken’s body upon him and Kenji’s hot breaths on his face.

“Life’s just not fair is it?” Ken asked the boy in a soft voice, knowing that he would not get a reply. But he did not need a reply. The state the child was in now was reply enough. It was so fun to damage the souls of the young. They were so easy to scare and Ken liked that. He liked it a lot for it made him feel powerful.

Kenji then pulled away from the boy sitting up straight with the crazed grin still spread across his face. Thunder roared somewhere behind him.

The boy was breathing hard and his eyes where shut tight. Every now and then he would let out a small whimper. This made Kenji happy… very happy. The boy was cooperating so well. Well enough that Ken decided it was time to take out his dagger. It was an old dagger and blade was pretty rusted but it could still cut skin. He looked down at the boy a dark flicker shinning in his eyes. Without warning the dagger came down, plunging into the boy’s belly. Kenji then twisted the dagger until the boy was forced to let out a bawl of pain.

“Did you know,” ken whispered just loud enough so that the boy could hear him, “That I could stab about 10 times before you actually die. Let’s see if you can last longer then that.” He then let out a loud wicked laugh before pulling the dagger out and stabbing it back into the boy’s stomach. He couldn’t be enjoying himself more. The flickering of the lightning was making the whole thing just that much better.

((OOC: Ooh, Very well written! I was going to have Xion pop in, but this is such an evil thing that I thought I would have Gregory teach Kenji the ways of evil in Imythess. Evil stays alive by running and killing and running. Kenji will soon learn well how to pick his victims and children are just begging for a fight. >_< No hard feelings, it's his job. And Seele may pop up to save the day yet again for another new evil.))

Gregory had been there to see the fire in all of its glory. He had no water spells to help, and he had no real way of contacting Meera. He had never seen anyone leave the building, but he had decided he would go after the flames were extinguished and see if there were any that needed healing. He had been sitting atop another building watching the fire, when the shrill cries of pain erupted nearby. Taking wing immediately, he dropped to be just above the ground and used the momentum of his drop to glide most of the distance, softly landing and continuing on his feet.

His eyes narrowed in anger as he saw a demon hover over a small child that looked to be the escapee of a fire, if not the one Gregory had been watching. The demon liked quite thrilled that it would be receiving such a morsel, but it would not be so lucky. The power of the spell hummed in his mind as he raised his single hand up in motion and whispered the words.

"Celesti do mi'tern, menseth du'uirin!" He sent his hands forward and allowed his judgement spell to be activated. Sure that he had the advantage of surprise, he opened his eyes again to see that in the short time he had been uttering those words, the boy had been stabbed multiple times. He only hoped he had made it in time. He knew his judgement spell must have taken hit, for one cannot dodge such a thing, only prevent it, and he knew that he had a short time frame in which the demon would be writhing in pain.

Walking in great strides, he came up on the child and immediately kneeled before him. He allowed the purity of his magic to weave into the boy and he watched as the wounds began to join and the bleeding stopped. He was unsure of this boy’s health, but he picked him up and took wing to the roof of the building nearby. The boy would be unconscious from the pain, and the spell would drain him of energy, so he would surely be out for a few hours at least. For now, there was a demon to be dealt with. Opening his own white wings, he drifted down to the spot he had just been to with the demon, spear in hand.

"You, demon, do not act well in self-preservation." The words left his lips the moment before he thudded to the ground on his heels, "Did you know that with this spear, I can only stab you about once before you die? My accuracy is quite good for demons that are unable to move. But do not fret. I assure you that you will live longer than the next few moments. I will be sure to slowly let the blade of my weapon burn and pierce your skin, touching your heart before slowly plunging it. That is, if your heart is still in place.. If not then your life shall last even longer and more painful than you can imagine!" he stood near the demon. His holy aura, having been on the low-down before he cast judgement, was now burning brightly and he stood with sheer confidence over the demon.

Kenji - July 19, 2007 03:27 PM (GMT)
He did not hear the other come. Did not notice as the rain thunderous booms hushed and watched. He had expected nothing to stop him until he suddenly heard the words. Words he did not recognize but understood what meant. Someone was casting a spell!

Kenji had no time to run or defend himself before a surge of pain ran threw his body. It caused him to drop his dagger, his hands rushing up to hold his head. In unconscious movements, Kenji quickly lifted himself from the boy and stumbled back whimpering almost the same way the boy had done.

When finely the pain had subsided and his eyes opened, Kenji could see nothing and no one. The boy was gone and the streets were empty. Quickly Kenji's dark eyes scanned the buildings and there surroundings until he heard the man's voice once more.

His eyes narrowed with anger when they came upon the white winged man A hiss escaped his lips as he was told that he would die with only one trust of the spear. This man was mocking him and on top of that he was threatening to kill him. Slowly and painfully just as he had threatened the boy. The worse part of it all was that Kenji could tell this was man was stronger then himself. The strong holy aura was enough to tell him that.

"Come now," Kenji spoke in somewhat friendly, pleading voice as he slowly backed away "You would be just like me if you fallowed threw with such actions. A man so noble as yourself would not want to fall to my level would they? Perhaps a slap on my hand and a thump to the bottom before sending me on my way?" Sometimes Kenji could be strong, and sometimes he could be a cowered. Today he was acting the coward. He had no doubt that he would loose any battle with this angelic man and therefore had no desire to fight him. Especially not with his life at risk.

Kenji continued to back up, his large black wings opening slowly as he walked causing the rain to thunder once more. As he opened his wings they began to sparkle. Shinning like the stars in the night sky. Usually Kenji liked to show off his wings but not tonight. At the moment he didn't even think of them using them for anything more then escaping. After all, he was weaponless for he had dropped his dagger and he was not fast or strong enough with magic to use that.

((OOC: Sorry its not that great. Im was in a bit of a rush cuz I gotta go to work))

Gregory Faust - July 20, 2007 06:03 PM (GMT)
((OOC: It's fine. Most new people who join and make demonic characters challenge him to a fight, then when he utterly destroys them they quit the site, lol, so this just shows me that you will most likely stay.))

He smiled at the demons words, grasping hopelessly for a measure of pity. He would get none. "Oh demon, the only way we will be similar is in our methods of killing, I assure you. To rid the world of a demon that was in the process of killing a child is surely not to bring me down to the level of killing the spoken child. " Xion allowed his holy aura to empower the spear further, making it truly a dangerous weapon. This demon would get no mercy, as some demons before him had. Only one demon had truly ever gotten mercy and friendship, but she was something of a special case.

"A slap on the hand or a thumb in the bum? Ha, stand demon, and face your judgement. Perhaps if you show enough vigour to survive I will give you the pleasure of dying swiftly." Gregory stepped forward, kicking a dagger lightly, sending it clattering across the floor. The rusted blade was covered with the blood of an innocent that Gregory had only hoped he saved. Picking up the weapon, he examined it. "You should take better care of your blades." He tossed the weapon in the demon's direction. He was never one to fight the unarmed unless he unarmed him.

"Perhaps back in hell they shall make you a mindless servant. A better future than most." He dove at the demon, spear burning with holy light complimenting his own. His blade aimed for the demon's heart and his wings propelling him towards his goal.

Xion Flayle - July 20, 2007 06:25 PM (GMT)
((OOC: This is taking place after Xion gets two-weapon fighting skill, as I'm sure it's going to happen in like, 4 posts.))

Xion had seen Gregory take flight from the building. He had seen him run to the aid of a child being stabbed by what appeared to be a demon, and he was interested. He perhaps wondered why the demon would be so forward, only asking for trouble, but he dismissed the idea. Most likely the creature was new to the land and the ways, and would have to be taught if he wished to survive. Eyeing up lightbane, he grabbed its hilt and activated its power, just as Gregory took the boy to the roof. Acting as a shadow himself, he slid to be in front of the demon, and he watched the whole event.

Gregory charged in his typical way, deadly blade aimed for the demon man's heart, and here was where Xion would intervene. Lightbane and Draguldrake leapt from the sheathes as he burst from the shadows, deflecting the attack with lightbane and sending draguldrake on an arc for the angel's head. His feat slid in a half-moon across the ground as his body twisted for a spinning attack with both blades. He was sure no such attacks would strike Gregory, but he was not aiming to kill, only to protect this new demon. He stopped his spin facing the angel, swords bared out to each side tilted to the ground. He did not look at the demon when he spoke.

"Winged demon. You choose your fights too openly, it would do you well to learn when to act and when to hide." Xion backed up closer to the demon. "Luckily for you, I saw this situation. You have attracting an angel who is quite beyond what you can handle, and beyond what I can handle for long."

"Gregory, I hear the waking of your child. Why not go be his saviour and leave us be. No harm has come of this meeting, except perhaps a memory that will forever either make the boy a coward or another repeat of you. " Xion tried to reason with the angelic man, hoping that it would work. "Why fight two demons and waste your energy. I imagine by now the fire has died and there are some to be healed. Some on the verge of death to go to. This one is surely not worth your time."

((Lol well I stay on sites that have a handful of active members who are respectful. Sadly there aren't allot of sites with respectful members. This site is looking very promising however and I have no intentions of leaving. Kenji will have to learn his place though ^_^ Oh and sorry, this post isn't great either, had no clue what to say or do. ))

“Don’t most preach that two wrongs don’t make a right?” Now most would have been smart enough to keep there mouths shut, but Kenji could not. He always had to get the last word in even if it only made things worse. Hopefully in this case it would help no make things worse. Besides, Kenji was pretty sure things couldn’t get worse. What could be worse then the threat of death?

Oh Cute, he really was going to die! No, not yet. He couldn’t die yet. He only remembered a month or two of his life. Ding now, over such a small act of stupidity seemed so wasteful. He wanted to at lest remember his old memories or gain new ones. Maybe if he turned and flew as fast as he could without looking back he could escape! Maybe…

“I found it like this!” Kenji defended himself when his dagger was tossed over to his feet. Quickly Kenji bent down to grab hold of the dagger while the other man spoke. He stood just in time to see the angel rushing towards him, spear and man glowing brightly with a holy light. He didn’t have time to run, time to think, or even time to dodge. All he could do was hold his dagger in front of him and hope that his death would be painless.

It seemed today luck was on everyone’s side. It had saved the woman attacked by the other creature of dark earlier on during the day. It had saved the boy Kenji had tried to kill. Now it was saving Kenji and Kenji couldn’t be more grateful. Or so he would have been if he wasn’t struck down in shock.

Kenji watched as the other demon blocked the attack and then to Kenji’s amazement, attacked back. Kenji would have loved to help but sadly all he could now was stand there, wide eyed and mouth dropped opened. Not that Kenji would be much help anyway. Most likely he would just get in the way.

He nodded when the other demon spoke to him, but did not speak. Could not speak. He was still in shock to be alive. Not only that, but now the other demon was also trying to talk the angel spearing his life. Kenji had no idea what he did to gain this demons help but he was grateful. He would have to repay the man. How he didn’t know. But he was sure he could be useful for something.

“I really am just a petty pawn.” Kenji added on after Xion had spoken. The shock had finely worn off him enough that his mouth was working again. His hands were still holding his dagger in death grip and his feet where still pressed firmly to the ground. Most likely his knees would give out as soon as he free from danger. But at the moment he wasn’t sure if he was still in danger or not. He would just have to wait and see what the man of light would do.

Gregory Faust - July 21, 2007 08:54 PM (GMT)
Confident in his eminent victory, the demon bursting from the shadows took Gregory completely off guard. His spear flew upwards and he barely caught himself from a fall, lunging backwards to barely afford two flailing swords aiming got lob his head off. He landed a few feet off and bared his teeth at the intruder. Xion Flayle, causing trouble yet again. His spear firmly locked in his hands; he stood prone and folded his wings at his back. Apparently the demonic nuisance had learned some new tricks since they had last met, and at mention of his patient on the roof, he cringed. He had been watched the whole time and the fact that he didn't know bothered him.

"You know damn well, Xion, that I can take on you both if you have to," A soft groan above him caused him to stop talking, "Fortunately for yourself, you are correct. The waking child may be in peril on the roof, and I do need to conserve my strength for any who need saving." His eyes went from his rival to the other demon, cowering on the ground. He snarled at the demon before taking a few steps back and taking wing to the roof. He picked the waking child up and flew into view again. "You're best bet would be to run, now." He extended his hand and focussed some small amount of magic into them.

"Vir," The words slid from his lips, "Vir, vir, vir vir vir!" Blasts of white light flowed from his hands as he rained destructive magic on the group. Seeing the dust below him, he grinned and turned in the direction of the now smouldering building surrounded by people. He had not intended to kill the demons, not with such a simple attack, only to let them know that he would return for them if they stayed. Landing just away from the group of people, he tapped a woman dressed as a nun on the shoulder, and handed her the child. Coughing loudly, he cleared a path and walked to the smouldering building, peppered with men digging after voices. Falling to his knees, Gregory began to go after the weakened voice of a young girl. He would spend much energy healing tonight.

Xion Flayle - July 21, 2007 09:08 PM (GMT)
Xion tensed and backed up another step. If Gregory decided to attack he would have to try and find an escape and hope that the other demon did the same. His grip tensed on the hilts of his sword as Gregory smirked and proclaimed that he could take them both on, and this tiefling was not about to argue. He grinned as the small child groaned loud enough to be heard and Gregory agreed with him. He had merely guessed with the child, hoping to be able to use the distraction to get a head start. As Gregory backed up and took wing, Xion spun on the demon.

"You will do no flying for a while. Once you take to the air you're in his arena. You will stay on the ground with me and we will leave." He stopped talking and turned his head to see Gregory, hand extended hovering over them. Running was just what they had intended on, and as the words flew from the angel's mouth Xion was barely able t get his weapons ready in time. The magical blasts rained down around the two, and taking the initiative, Xion slid to be just in front of the winged demon and managed to deflect the two that had actually been aimed. That was good enough a warning.

Dust surrounded them, and Xion grabbed the clothing of the other demon, forcing him to his feet. "Come. We have to make some distance away from him. Today you got lucky." He tugged the winged on in the direction he intended to travel, and he sheathed his swords just as he came out onto the street. A few people wandered, including the city guard. "Try to appear angelic. Head down this road until we get to the gate. We will talk in low voices until we are out." He pushed the man ahead of him and confidently sauntered out to the street himself.

"My name is Xion Flayle. Pleased to make your acquaintance."

((Sorry that took so long, got distracted by the new Harry Potter book.))

It was working! Gregory…? Kenji was pretty sure that’s what the other demon called him… Gregory was leaving to tend to the other boy!

“But…” Kenji was about to argue with the other demon’s command to do no flying but stopped himself. Kenji felt much more comfortable in the sky then on ground. Safer. But this demon had saved his life and seemed to know how to deal with the angel. Kenji should at lest fallow what he was told, “Alright.” He sighed in defeated voice just in time to hear Gregory’s chanting.

The next thing he knew, Xion blocked some of the mage, pulled him to his feet and tugged him away from the angel.

Try to look angelic? But that was disgusting. It was… was dishonoring there race, everything he knew! Why did he have to pretend to be the very thing he disliked? The angel was too busy helping others to worry about them anymore. As far as Kenji was concerned they were safe to go and do as they want. Unless… unless there were more angelic people here.

Kenji let out a huff which meant he didn’t like the idea of pretending to be angelic but he would still obey. Though he wasn’t all that sure how to do so. Like hell was he going to smile after just about meeting his death? There was nothing he could do about his wings though they were feathered so that could trick others. There was such a thing as dark feathered angels. He supposed at the very lest he could hide his tail and fallow closely behind Xion. Perhaps give the young naive look.

Kenji’s tail slowly pushed its way under his robs so that it could not be seen. He then fallowed Xion out onto the street and fallowed closely behind him.

“I’m Kenji.” He replied when Xion introduced himself, “Kenji Swekoon. Thanks for the help.” He wasn’t sure what else he could say to this man. Just like Gregory, this demon seemed to be a bit intimidating. Perhaps because Kenji knew he was stronger then himself. Then again, there weren’t very many who weren’t stronger. Kenji could never remember being trained how to fight with any sort of weapon.

“How… how did you learn to fight like that?” Kenji asked unable to hold it in, “With the two swords and stuff. It was cool.” He was remembering to keep his voice low as he spock, though he did not know why. He had spent almost half the day here and didn’t get into any trouble until he attacked the boy. Maybe he had just been lucky up until then.
