Title: Unexpected
Nyla - July 10, 2007 05:07 PM (GMT)
Nyla pulled the blindfold off of her cursed eyes, and sighed, wondering where she was as she often tended to wander in her blind state in the day. Looking around quite casually she noted the fallen statues, and pillars, all in quite the state of disrepair. A broken city, and broken me, how fitting... She thought, sighing as she turned to see Storm, a large white horse whom she had stumbled upon accedentally. Reaching out she pet the soft velvety nose of the creature, sitting at the base of a pillar she considered her possible courses of action; she could continue walking and hope for something interesting to happen; stay and relax unless something comes up to disturb her; kill herself...no that wasn't a good idea; or take a nap.
Thinking of the past few restless days, and nights she had spent wandering, she closed her eyes, and laid down, drifting into sleep. The grass was soft on her cheeks as she relaxed...
...
....
...
Opening her eyes some time later, she let out a scream as pain flooded her body unexpectedly, the sun was out already, and in a state of agony she couldn't find anything other than her hands to block it out. So she lay rolling in pain, palms pressed against her eyes, crying in pain. After a few minutes of this the pain dulled, and she sat looking for her blind fold. Not noticing the footsteps that were comeing towards her.

A short visit, just to see if she could find someone… She had never seen him here though, but then perhaps she would find him here because of that. Aether Draka had no intention of staying in the runes for more them a moment, a single quick shadow jump in, look around to see if he was there, and a quick jump out.
Aether Drak appeared from the shadow cast by a pillar in the runes, this was a place she had been to at least four times now, last time she had taken care to explore it well, so she would have more places she could appear from. She didn’t see him, or even anyone like him, but there was someone. She was sitting on the ground with her eyes closed, feeling around her for something, apparently. AD paused before she could vanish again, her curiosity gripping her like an iron vice.
Tipping her head to the side for a moment she watched, and then she stepped out of the shadow from the pillar and walked toward the stranger. For the moment, her search was interrupted. It would only get harder to go places now that day had taken hold though. A break couldn’t hurt anything. In fact, it would be very interesting, no doubt. She stopped less then a foot away. “Excuse me, what are you doing?” she asked.
((OOC: It seems short... :( ))

Nyla heard the voice and in between sobs answered in a shakey voice. "I've lost it!" She cried, and continued to sob into her hands. Nothing else but pain was on her mind, she didn't much care that she looked terrible, her face red, her clothes rinkled, and her face wet and dirty with tears, and salt. She reached around on the ground again looking for the scrap of faberic that she had lost, it wasn't far from where she was, but hystarical, and in pain, unable to see, she was panicing, and couldn't find it.

AD had no idea what she had lost, but knew she was panicked. AD hesitated though, wondering if she could really… should she help? It probably was the best thing to do, as she was already here and didn’t really have anywhere else to go. She really didn’t want to though. She wanted to find him after all. She wanted to know… but no. She was standing right in front of here and Aether Draka simply wasn’t spiteful enough to walk away, even if she didn’t know this person at all, even though…no, she really had no choice. So AD knelt down and glanced along the ground. She didn’t know what she could have lost and she hadn’t really given her any hint.
So Aether Draka caught this strangers hand in her own and spoke calmly and clearly, attempting to calm her down. “Hold on a moment. What have you lost?”
Turin peered out from under AD’s hair. He had been hiding against the back of her neck. Weren’t we looking for someone? This doesn’t look like him. In fact, that’s a she. Finding the comment rude, she batted at the tiny dragon with her free hand. He took wing, doing a loop around their heads just because he could. AD stubbornly ignored him.

Nyla took a few deep breaths and sat up trying to calm down, feeling the hand on her wrist, the light that leaked in through her eyelids stung, but the pain was now dulling to a throb. "It's a piece of fabric, long enough to go around my head, and wide enough to be folded in half three times to cover my eyes." She said and sniffled. "It may not seem important but the light hurts me quite badly....its a wretched thing really..." She said sniffling again.
She continued crying this time more out of embarassment, at how pathetic she really must seem. Sniffling she reached around again looking for it.
Aether Draka - July 12, 2007 03:27 PM (GMT)
Aether Draka was surprised to hear that light hurt her eyes and she wondered if it was something similar to the way holy auras hurt her. She had a way to keep the holy aura back though. The light… well, actually, she had a way to keep that away too, at least for a short time. She had done if a few times now and felt she was getting rather good at it.
“Well hold on a moment then, I can only do this for a short time though…” AD stood up and closed her eyes and called on the shadows themselves. The came to her, skimming across the ground and she formed the shadow illusions into something the size and shape of a small hut without doors or windows. She opened her own eyes then, her sight not at all bothered by the change of light.
“Is that better? I can keep this up for a short time as I said, but if you step outside it will still be bright out.”
((OOC: evil short post, over 100 words at least... :brood: ))
Nyla - July 12, 2007 03:45 PM (GMT)
Nyla opened her eyes and felt no pain, not even a twinge, she still couldn't see, usually in pitch black she could though. "It still doesn't matter, I can't see...thank you though." She still felt around the ground, the grass rustling under her fingers, and finally landing on something soft, she let out a cry of joy and smiled as she folded the cloth, and wrapped it around her head. Standing up right and a little calmer Nyla tilted her head to the ground and began to apologize. ”I’m so sorry about this, it really was none of your concern but thank you for helping me. If you need anything let me know and I’ll help as best I can.” She said as she finished tying the blindfold on, a little tighter this time.
((i hate writers block.....*cries*))
Aether Draka - July 12, 2007 05:04 PM (GMT)
AD watched her pull on her blindfold and then shrugged, not realizing that the shrug couldn’t be seen. “I don’t mind really. I like the dark more anyways. If you don’t mind though, I was looking for a friend of mine. If the light hurts you so much you should go and find Gloomwood. It’s always dark there. There is a city in the center though that often has bright lanterns burning all the time though. I was heading there next, if you want to come with?” AD felt the tug of holding on to the illusion still. It had to be less now. That was good news, it meant she was really getting better at using magic. Then she sundenly realized that idea wouldn’t work. Aether Draka was traveling via shadows and she didn’t know who else could do that.
“Actually,” AD changing her mind. “I don’t think you can come with me. I’m not traveling on foot, or even riding anything. I’m sorry I mentioned it…” She shifted her feet for a moment and hesitated again, not sure if she could leave or not. It seemed a bit rude, but her curiosity was satisfied for the moment so she was getting board. She never thought to ask for a name even, she was ready to get going once more.
Nyla - July 12, 2007 05:32 PM (GMT)
Nyla turned to the other girl and smiled. ”Thank you for mentioning it, perhaps I’ll go on my own, could you point me in the right direction though, I’m afraid I get lost quite easily.” She laughed and found her way to Storm, mounting she remembered that she hadn’t even caught the woman’s name. ”I’m Nyla, by the way, what’s your name, I can’t thank you properly if I don’t know it!” She said still smiling. Her cloak fell loosely on the white horse’s back behind her, revealing her weaponry, though she didn’t have her hands near any of the blades, or her spear. She would let the woman point her in the right direction and leave things at that, she could sense that she was in a hurry, besides she was looking for some one.
Aether Draka - July 17, 2007 09:04 PM (GMT)
Aether Draka sighed to herself and shook her head. What a strange person. “I’m AD.” She said and directed the horse in the right direction by walking over to it and pushing its shoulder so it turned away from her. Then she shrugged. “You could always ask around for the city of Belfire, that’s the city in the center and there are plenty of people who go there. Good luck.” She then walked toward the nearest shadow bigger then she was and vanished. She was frustrated and had the feeling she might come across that girl again. Perhaps night would bring a better meeting. She hated having to cut this one so short.
