Savarkael was spending the week at Taras, having fun with the party of Imythess. She had never stayed for parties and the such, always wanting to avoid them, but now, she was having fun, being a human was fun, though, sometimes she hid from guards, but she had no reason too, they were too cheerful to bother themselves with her, a dragon, but here, she was a human, and everyone treated her like one, it was nice for a change, but a lot of the time she had pains in her shoulder blades and sometimes the top of her hand would flash a green, though disappear, and yesterday she found a scale on her hand, the top. She changed into her dragon form then and then back human and it was gone, but the pains continued to today, and this evening, she did her best to ignore them.
Tonight, she sat in the tavern, that was busy with cheerful groups of people, everyone still celebrating, a week of celebration, and they do just that, and enjoy every last bit of it, and have a lot of fun with odd games, and little tournaments, and several other things. Sava had done a small tournament and won, her skills were good, and she took pride in it, though, did not show off, that was one thing she never did.
While she spent her time here, she had seen the Goddess of Blades, seen her, but tried to avoid her, she didn't believe they cared, she thought all the gods to be all so high-and-mighty, it annoyed her, and they annoy her, she didn't believe they cared, she thinks they only care for themselves, and their lives, why would they want to mess with mortals, with weaker pathetic beings like everyone on the world but themselves, and fellow gods and goddesses. She did not believe that she should follow them, or even listen to them, it would be annoying, she would never give herself to the protection of a god. As she sat there, thinking hard about different things, she drank wine, red elven wine, taking a liking to the drink. She wore what she had later, a green wavy skirt with dragons etched on it, and a black tank like top, and then a black flowy cape, and sandals, though her hair wasn't all nicely done, but hung there, just a little over her ears.
She looked over the others in the tavern, listened to their conversations, to the music that played, and to others, complaining, and the drunks gibbering nonsense. It felt right, to be here in human form, but why? She was a dragon, not a human. Why did it feel normal? She shook her head angrily. She was a dragon, and will not be tempted to stay a human forever, she will change back and be what she is, not a human. She stayed there, suddenly still, wondering, and wondering, why she felt the need to stay a human.
Rothardan - July 9, 2007 06:16 AM (GMT)
It was not often that Rothardan would set foot into a tavern, but he had ordered a bed here for two weeks and was staying here in-between travels. The Paladin did not look like his usual chirpy self, no... instead he had bags under his eyes so large that you could probably carry your shopping in them if you tried hard enough. Not only that, his hair was stringy and there was some stubble growing on him, making him look homeless rather than a Paladin.
He had really let himself go, but it was because of the dreams he was having lately. The dreams where he was fighting a dark knight, who kept splitting everytime he was attacked by Rothardan. After the dark knight split a few times, he would kill Rothardan and laugh in his face... spitting at his feet, before Rothardan woke up all sweaty and horrible. Rothardan had tried everything to rid himself of these dreams but it was no good, he had been damaged by his death experiance.
And so Rothardan simply looked on at the crowd, laughing and jeering and whatnot. He wondered what to do next about his dreams but he could not figure anything out. He looked at the young woman in the Tavern that had caught his eye, wondering why she had an expression that looked like there was an inner struggle in her body. What was wrong with her? Odd... Rothardan was more than curious and wished he knew more.

Sava took a drink of her wine, and wanted to enjoy herself, but now, the temptation was strong, she wanted to forget how to change. No, I can't let myself, I'm stupid to think such things, She thought, taking another drink, and played with a short strand of hair, but still, she couldn't enjoy herself at the moment. Silently, she sat there, contemplating whether or not to go up to her room, but she stayed put, not in the mood of dealing with her friend fly dragon, Blackquill. That dragon was annoying creature, sometimes she wanted to squash it, but she would never be able to do that, though she was annoying, they were friends, she would never do that to a friend.
The moment she felt someone watching her, she grew a little tense, her hand on the hilt of her blade, then she looked up, and saw the man. He looked terribly tired. She stared at him, while losing all thoughts of herself, and wondering why he was like that, and she was slightly happy she forgot the temptations, but a moment later, she was tempted to stay human, once more she tried to ignore all those thoughts, and tried to wonder why he was like that, doesn't anyone get sleep around here these days?
"People should sleep more, hm, humans." She mumbled in draconic to herself. She thought a moment, then made a guster to him, basically telling him to come over, if he wanted to.
Rothardan - July 11, 2007 04:41 PM (GMT)
The stranger was looking at him and Rothardan simply looked back before going back and ordering a mug of juice. He never drank, alcohol slowed you down and Rothardan was always feeling slow ever since he came back from Arda. So he ordered some juice and took a deep drink from it. He looked at the stranger again and she beckoned him to come and sit with her. So Rothardan did what he always did when a complete stranger in a hood beckoned him to come over and sit with them... he went over and sat next to them.
At first he didn't say anything, he just sat down and gazed upon their alignment spectrum, as he did with the Tiefling. He saw that this stranger was... divided... or balanced. Neutral would be a better word to describe, and in a way that was dangerous. Neutral people were unpredictable and could be either nice or nasty, depending on what they felt like. Some neutrals were psychopaths... hopefully this person wasn't a complete psycho or Rothardan would be in trouble.
But he could tell that something was troubling this stranger... and Rothardan did need someone to talk to. So in the end, he made the first move (as he always seemed to do) and said:
"So why did you beckon a complete stranger to sit with you?" he asked in a friendly tone, just to let the stranger know that he was a nice person.

When he came and sat down, Sava smirked slightly, and watched him a moment, before taking another sip of her wine. When he asked why, she merely shrugged, and smiled slightly. "Don't know really, maybe because every other table is full with slubbering drunks, and you seem like one not to back stab me, but, I'll never know." She said, once more shrugging. "I'm actually surprised you did, not many would, not to a stranger you know nothing about." She said, her eyes flashing slightly, but then grimaced in pain as the pain in her shoulder blades started up again, though, she tried her best to try ignoring it, like other times.
"Also, you seem quite dead. Whats with people these days? Never sleeping, but going around waving a sword around, acting as if no one needs sleep." She said, smirking once more. Yes, she was in a good mood sort of, but the temptations never stopped, it was as if someone wanted her to be a human and then someone else to be a dragon, and then herself, trying to choose which one. She wanted to be human, but then, she wanted to be dragon, and she tried to choose being a dragon, but the temptations to be human grew stronger, not letting go.
She sighed silently, wishing the pain will leave, and the temptations, if they didn't leave, then she felt like she would go insane, trying to figure out what to do, its annoying to having to deal with these things.
Rothardan - July 13, 2007 12:02 PM (GMT)
Rothardan grinned when this person talked, there was something about her words that made him smile. Indeed, the tavern was full of drunks and rowdy people who were to over-excited for their own good. The bar-staff were rushing around delivering drinks and taking orders... it was one helluva day.
"Getting drunk is good for these people, but not for me," Rothardan said, "Alcohol slows the body down, and Paladins never get drunk. It's a thing we just don't do... a drunken Paladin is never a good one."
"Also, you seem quite dead. Whats with people these days? Never sleeping, but going around waving a sword around, acting as if no one needs sleep."
Rothardan could answer that question in one word.
"Nightmares,"
Taking a swig of his orange juice, Rothardan looked at his mug as if it held all the answers at the bottom of it's natural goodness. If it did find the answer, The Paladin couldn't find it and eventually he returned his attention to the young stranger.
"I can't sleep for more than a few hours at a stretch, and when I do... my dreams are plagued by past events. Nothing helps me get rid of them... nothing."
Nightwind - July 13, 2007 04:38 PM (GMT)
Sava silently listened to him, as he said alcohol slowed you down, but it never did to her, Savarkael has never been drunk, though, never tried, she didn't want to act like a idiot and then regret what she did, so she would never, ever try. So, his a paladin, hmm... I hate paladins.... some anyway, they're to good, she thought, leaning back in her chair, looking Rothardan over, a moment. He looks like one, that thought simply went through her head.
Then, he said nightmares, her eyes slightly dimmed at the thought, she had her own nightmares, that haunt her in dreams and when she is awake. She hated nightmares, but still, she managed to sleep, even if it grew uncomfortable, she would always tell herself, that they are not real, even if she was attacked by demons in the past.
"I also have nightmares of the past... of demons." She said simply, her voice a bit quieter, and she looked at a group of people who were playing with cards, and she stared at them, a moment, lost in thought. It was a moment or so, when she turned her gaze to the paladin. "Nightmares, are never fun to deal with... ever try a dream catcher?" She knew it sounded quite stupid, but she had one, it worked, though, she hardly used it.
Rothardan - July 18, 2007 12:43 PM (GMT)
((My apologies for the long wait, I am an idiot.))
Rothardan had tried a dreamcatcher before and nodded in response to the question. But it was no help whatsoever, it didn't filter the dreams and he still awoke panting with fear. Nope, nothing could stop these dreams and they were getting more and more weird and horrible. Sooner or later, Rothardan would crack under the pressure... when that happened, he would need to be alone for a few days.
"I'm sorry to hear you've been having nightmares as well..." Rothardan said, "It's no fun and there are better things you could do with your time than dream horrible things."
Finishing his drink, Rothardan looked around and decided whether it was worth his time to get something else. It wasn't, and Rothardan instead placed his cup to one side and leant back. He gazed upon this person and wondered what it was that was so... odd about her. It was something that Rothardan couldn't put his finger on.
You're not from around these parts are you?" he asked.
Nightwind - July 24, 2007 05:36 PM (GMT)
Sava nodded. There were better things to do then deal with nightmares, and she wished she could take them, though, the dream catcher she has helps, she doesn't really like to use it often, its an odd device. She looked into her wine for a very long time, wondering if there were cures for nightmares, though, she had never heard of one. She sighed and looked up.
"I agree that there are better things." She said, and sighed once more, leaning in her chair, and looking in her cup again, as it was nearly empty.
She shook her head. "I ma from around here, and then no, I travel and explore the land, I find it comforting to travel, I never stay in one place to long, but I always find myself back here. Taras is a nice city." She said, glancing at a window that looked out into the street, but turned her attention to Rothardan.
"I'm betting you are from around here, but then, I'm often wrong." She said, simply.
