He had gotten here by flight, thanks to his angelic wings, and Rothardan landed perfectly upon the ground. He needed a place to think things through and Norwood Village was the perfect place to do it. It was quiet and nothing ever really happened here that was worth bothering about. The weather was dull, cloudy with a gray sky. It was not raining but it looked like it could do at any point during the day, and Rothardan was on the watch out for any tell-tale signs of rain getting ready to pour down.
The town itself was quiet, not many people walking around today. The shops were open but there was no bustling of footsteps from people, nor was there any shouting or screaming. Rothardan took in the sound of silence as he thought about how much things had changed in Imythess. Veronna was a mother, gods and goddesses had been removed from the pantheon of immortals... as a result they were now mere mortals. Wow... things had certainly changed in his absence.
"You know what else has changed?" asked the voice of Illuminis, the Solar Infused within Rothardan.
As usual, when the Solar talked, the apparation of a Solar appeared beside him. This apparation was not real, and only Rothardan could see him. Think of it like an invisible friend, only Rothardan could hear and talk to him. Beside Rothardan now was a see-through silver humanoid who was seven feet tall, with silver skin and glowing eyes and large angel wings.
"You've changed Rothardan, you've changed quite drastically..."
Rothardan didn't answer, for he knew the truth in Illuminis' words and knew he had changed from what had happened within Arda. But Illuminis wasn't finished, he still had a point to make:
"You ripped of Veronna's head for not knowing the answer, and I think she really was angry at you Rothardan,"
"I didn't rip her head off thank you very much," The Paladin retorted "I merley pointed out that a goddess not knowing the answer was not a good thing."
"You are dark and silent, mysterious and scathing towards people..."
"I'd rather keep my distance from people until I can figure out who or what is responsible for my dimensional mishaps."
"And you are far more vicious to evil now, coming to the point where you are behaving more like a barbarian."
"I fight evil, if I'm vicious it's because that I don't like evil. That's why I'm a Paladin."
"ROTHARDAN LOOK AT YOURSELF!!"
Rothardan stopped and got ready for the worst of it. Why couldn't Illuminis just get off his back and let Rothardan do his job of finding the person responsible for all of this?
"You're turning into something you once disliked. You are a Paladin of the Holy Order and a follower of Light. But I am glad for once that a god of light does not exist for if they did... I think they would have been ashamed of you."
Rothardan didn't say anything to that, he merley breathed in and out and tried to think straight. In the end he simply found a bench and sat down, Illuminis simply standing there. The two looked at each other before the Solar dissapeared and went back into Rothardan again. What had happened to them both? The two of them were like a fighting squad before, both of them fighting evil together. Now they were fighting all the time like an elderly couple.
Rothardan simply placed his hands in his head and wished that he had never gone to Arda, that none of this had happened... and that he was able to find out who did this.
Silently on a roof of a near by building Stallion sat and watched as the foolish creature seemed to converse with it self. "Foolish, creatures they are so unpredictable. Most are insane, insane or stupid." He spoke to himself, he rubbed his cheek and continued to watch this character with slight amusement. The kind a small child gets by burning ants with a magnifying glass and watching them twitch and turn to ash.
Stallion could just tell this creatures alignment by the slightest glance. It almost was enough to make him sick. Alas, for him, almost was not enough. For good shone over the dark... But thats what makes them so easy to find. He sat down on the roof making the shingles crumble and their pieces slide of the side to the ground where they landed quietly.
His eyes gazed beyond the creature to the rest of town, nothing was really happening so, the land was quiet and he enjoyed the peace. He enjoyed not having people bark orders at him without manners at all. Though not really enjoying adventuring under his own free will. For some reason he yearned to become a servant again. He couldn't get his eyes off his missing past, but his non-existant life will surely move on anyways.
He stood back to his feet to continue moving along when the roof's support gave way and he fell through the roof. As he fell his clothes tore and he cut his arms and legs. He lay on the ground searching the room for occupants. He quickly stood up and headed through the door to the outside.
