Hmmm... Amtyo glared at the few partiers in the streets of Balefire. For being a city of darkness, it sure didn't seem like one. There was hardly an unhappy face around, and the city seemed to actually light up in a way. Sure, it was some anniversary of something, but why bother? Even the bar, known for its quietness, was brimming with happiness. This is horrible! Amtyo thought. One week a year, the city forgets what it's known for, and completely falls apart!
It did seem like the city was falling apart. The lanterns, fed with extra fuel, were balls of fire in the air. Everywhere, people were yelling and screaming (Lousy drunkards, Amtyo thought), and the buildings were shaking with pain. The city was, indeed, falling apart.
If only there were some way to rid this noise from the city... He had come to this city to be rid of all of the insanity of Taras, his former home. Greeted with not the expected silence of Balefire, but instead a flying mouse smashed into his back, Amtyo was definitely on the move again. He stood up from his seat near the tavern, and thought. Where can I go? Back to Taras? Leave to another city? He had been to Kellen once, and knowing how bad it was during normal time, he wasn't likely to ever go back.
He suddenly knew what to do. To the one place where there would be no crowds and partying. The forest of Gloomwood.
He was off! Breaking into a sprint, he made it to the forest in no time. Yes, this was Gloomwood. The hellish trees, the utter darkness, and the scary shadows all pointed to that fact. I can still hear the city, he groaned. Farther in! I can still hear it! He started sprinting again, until he was sure that he would see or hear no one at all. He promptly sat down and fell asleep.
Hours later, he woke up and yawned. Better go back to town, he thought. He looked around. Wait a sec... He ran around a couple times. Oh No!
He was lost!

Loud crashing footsteps of a careless dragon walked on, towards Amtyo, but she had no idea, and did not care at all. As she recklessly walked through the trees, she hit them, and sometimes a tree fell down. She took no notice of the boy human, she was going to Taras, to enjoy the festivities and herself. It was a long while before she noticed him, and she stopped suddenly, and looked at him, her black green eyes cold, with annoyance. As she looked him over the fly dragon that was curled on her head took off, and flew around the humans head, and talking nonstop in telepathy to Sava, who merely grunted, and then mumbled a small word in magic, and a wind hurtled at the fly dragon, making it go into a tree then to the ground, then she turned her attention to the boy. He seemed lost.
"Hello, boy... what are you doing out here? Its not safe to wander in a woods at night." She said, calmly, though her gaze was still cold. I should eat him... it would be fun... but then... it wouldn't be a nice thing to do, I won't hurt humans for no reason, she thought to herself, but she still liked that idea, she had never eaten a human... well, when she was a younger dragon she had.
She dug her claws into the soft ground, while staring at the boy, her gaze never wavering. How would he react? She always loved to see peoples reactions, it was a fun little thing to do, just to wait and see. She wondered what he'd make of a black and green dragon.

Wow, Amtyo thought. He seemed to be frozen in fear. He had only seen a few dragons in Imythess before... Never one of this size or age. He silently scolded himself for being so stupid. Always getting lost! He took a small step back. He started to talk, but stopped again. He wasn't sure if this dragon was going to help him or eat him.
He looked from her scales, to her cold, dark eyes, and finally to her teeth, which looked able to eat him in one night. Well, he thought, I had two choices. Run away, and most likely get eaten, or stay and ask for help, which could also lead to a very bloody death for him. For the first time ever, he was scared for his life. Sure, he had been in fights, gotten hurt, attacked, but this had never happened to him before.
He cleared his throat. The dragon seemed to be waiting for something. "Erm," he began, "I seem to have, um, well..." his voice trailed off as he looked into the dragon's eyes, took a breath, and quietly continued "...gotten lost."
All of his confidence was gone, now. He just had to wait for the response, hoping that it would be good, praying for safety....
Once again, he looked up into the cold, dark eyes of the giant dragon.
