Wide eyes surveyed the willowy trees as a soft morning breeze swayed their branches back and forth in a soft sort of lullaby. Silence was not broken as the women carefully made her way around the north side of the lake. With her back to the water, her brilliant green eyes watched for any signs that she might not be alone.
Her true height had been hidden but could now be seen as she stood tall and let down the crossbow which she had held at the ready. Letting out a short sigh, she relaxed against nearby willow, enjoying the start of a new day. Light glittered against the still surface of the lake through dark patches of shadow.
(go easy on me, I haven't done this in quite some time)
((OOC: Hope that's good enough for you. I'll try to take it easy even though I post a helluva lot more than that. =) ))
Streams of light broke through the thick foliage high above him, only to fall scattered across the darkened ground, but just enough to light the path before him. It had been a peaceful day to say the least, but it wasn’t quite yet silent as the up beat chirpings of the birds around him stirred the silence. Almost forbidding it from taking hold over the qualm within the forests binds. At least that’s what it had been until he initially stepped out into the blinding light of the sun at the lakes embankment. Straining to focus his eyes to change in light, they flickered slowly across the languid sparkling waters until they came to a rest upon a woman just beneath the shelter of a willow. From the looks of it she had been alone, but certainly not unarmed. Certainly she didn’t intend to be something of a victim, but who would even bother to bring a weapon to such a place? But then again…He should speak for himself.
Shooting a glance down to his left side, his eyes grazed across the wooden blade that graced his hip with its presence. Surely, it wasn’t something to be truly threatened by, but alone the thing could take someone’s life just as easy as any other form of weapon given it’s user. And that user was certainly capable of such a feat as that.
Taking his eyes from the blade, they returned themselves to the woman, before pressing towards her. Step by step he came closer and closer, but by no means did he make a motion to the blade at his sight. Instead, he lifted both of his hands up and off to either side of his head, “Don’t shoot, I promise I’m not here to hurt you…” His words came sincere, but his intentions would lie elsewhere for now.
Even though she had heard his approach, he still caught her by surprise and as she whirled to face him directly, her crossbow was aimed at his chest. With eyes focused on the man, who had appeared from out of nowhere, Lehona silently gauged how much of a threat he would be. Glancing down at the wooden weapon to his side and seeing no other weapons in plain view, she assessed that he could do her little harm.
"Fair enough, but you should be careful of slinking around in a forest and sneaking up on people. It does not quite give others the idea that you are up to good deeds." Lehona sounded irritated and she was, just not at the man. It bothered her a great bit that even though she had been looking for any signs of another being in the area, she had missed them all completely.
Shooting the human a stiff look, she slowly lowered her crossbow. Her narrowed eyes looked past him, searching the forest background for any other unexpected guests that might travel from his direction. A warm breeze teased the ends of her long, ginger colored hair as it passed them gently. Regardless of his intentions now, she would not trust him just yet.
When she swung her crossbow upwards and aimed it straight towards his chest, he instantly froze in place, not really wishing to push the issue. Then came her words of warning and with that she would lower the crossbow once more. But that would be her first mistake, because the second that she would he would then press his own plan into action.
Slowly his head tilted off to the left hand side and the second it would do so, he would shift all of his weight off onto his left foot, lifting his right up into the air to counterbalance the shift in weight. At first it would almost appear that he was simply drunk and would topple over at any minute, but that was the deception he was hoping for. To create a second where she would think, ‘The hell is he doing,’ and after that, she would be his.
It all took a matter of seconds as his muscles tensed and swung his right foot back down to the ground. Where he would rock all of his weight into the motion, so the second his foot would touch, enough momentum would be gained in order to toss him into an kamikaze like rush towards her. Though, if she were able to read his actions from the start, it wouldn’t be so simple to pinpoint exactly where he was or how fast he was exactly traveling for the matter, since his image seemed to blur into a few others, giving the illusion that there were indeed more than one of him.
Upon his approach, a single hand would instantaneously snake its way out to her crossbow to either knock it away from her, or grip it and hold it so she couldn’t use it against him. Whatever the result, he found himself staring into her eyes, as a few mere inches separated the two of them. (I’m going by the assumption she’s smaller than him, since he’s like 5’ 11”ish.) Paying little mind to anything her hands were doing, his eyes would bore themselves deep within her green hues, admiring the beauty which they held, before closing his own onyx orbs. Just at that instant though, his body would begin to shift, shape and morph itself into an identical version of Lehona. With a smug grin upon her lips, her eyes would slowly flutter open, only to find themselves looking dead on with the true Lehona.
Tilting her head to the side, the grin would slowly fade off into a solemn expression, before speaking up in a soft tone that only rivaled Lehona’s herself, “You should be careful of slinking around in a forest and sneaking up on people? You sound like my mother, and that’s not particularly a good thing. Now, why don’t we play a little game together? You as you, and I as you; now doesn’t that sound interesting? I bet it’s quite interesting to see yourself on the outside for a change, isn’t it? But at the same time, I’m sure you’re not too happy about me stealing your looks, but if it bothers you, then don’t be afraid to try and do something about it. I’m a good sport about it, and I’ll tell you what…If you can defeat me, then I will change back to the way I was, sound fair?”
