Title: Silence Broken
Description: private

Andin - May 12, 2007 07:16 AM (GMT)
Andin sat quietly in a remote corner of the library. He liked the silence that engulfed the halls, and the peace that it brought. A peace, which Andin had a hard time finding. It also allowed his mind to slow and relax.

He picked up the scroll he had been reading, walked over to the shelf and placed it in its proper place. He then picked up another from the same category and walked back to the wooden table. He laid down the scroll on the glossy finish of the table and began to read about architecture, modern architecture to be precise. An odd subject to be sure, but it had its uses. Engulfed in his reading he hardly noticed the guard that had walked up behind him. He felt a firm hand grab his shoulder.

“Come with me.”

His first impulse was to grab the hand and flip the man onto the table, but he couldn’t, not here. There were too many people watching, namely other guards. He knew this was either an imposter, or he had been bribed to do this. But, if he waited and went with the guard, he would be able to fight, and he might get some answers. He grudgingly left his seat.

“Lead the way.”

Xendral Solith - May 12, 2007 07:33 AM (GMT)
Silence was a good thing, yes, but it wasn't something Xendrel could ever had. Whatever happened in his life, he always had the voice, the whisper, the part of himself that was calm and serious and that held little to no regard for the rules of society.

Such as keeping Xendral quiet in a library.

You can read?

"Of course I can."

Oh. So you aren't stupid?

"Idiot!"

He got more then a few weird looks from, well, everyone surrounding him. But he tried to ignore them, realizing that he was shouting just a little too late, slapping a hand over his mouth and blushing a nice little shade of pink. A few patrons let loose some chuckles, but most just muttered something under their breath and returned to their original tasks. He had come here to read up a bit on the isles that apparently existed off the coast of Taras. He thought about taking a boat there to explore one day, but so far, no go on that particular adventure. He would have to start searching around for a boat captian soon though.

Suddenly, from somewhere else in the library, he heard a clattering of armor and of feet. Blinking, he turned his head in that direction to see what was going on, and turned right into the face of a guard that had arrested him on an earlier adventure, only to have Xendral escape from him.

"Bloody hell."

The prison guard grinned.

"Yeah."

Andin - May 12, 2007 08:15 AM (GMT)
Andin walked slowly through the library in front of the guard. He knew they were headed to the back door of the library because of his numerous trips and studies of the building. He wasn’t sure where things would go when they got there he only hoped answers would be there. As he continued to walk through the rows and rows of scrolls and books all he could hear was the patter of feet and the flipping of pages.

As Andin and the guard made their way to the rear of the building they passed another guard who had confronted a man, who seemed to know the guard. Then two words broke the eerie silence, “Bloody Hell.”

Obviously the man and guard were not on friendly terms. This merited more interest in the man. Andin looked over him. He was simple. And yet his eyes… They were, deep, yet there were bars. As if to keep something locked inside. He could tell only because the bars were not as alien as he would have liked. He knew what it was like to keep something locked inside of you. What it was like to fight something that was in your mind, no, in your very soul.

It was at that moment that the other surged forward, battering into his minds defensives. A fierce battle ensued, between Andin and the other. He had always held back these assaults. His mind was strong, but this time he was distracted. This time… it broke through. As Andin desperately fought the inevitable he felt he mind slip into darkness and the other take over.

To any onlooker he would appear normal. But to quick investigation you would see the brown eyes turn purple and the calm and collected voice become deep and fierce. You would realize this was not Andin. Then you would hear him speak.

“I Am Carthan!”

Xendral Solith - May 19, 2007 05:29 AM (GMT)
Xendral let out a groan as the voice in his head simply began to laugh at him, and he let himself be grabbed by the burly looking guard, trying his best to avoid getting punched or slapped around like he had last time.

The guard laughed as his meager attempts and simply started to tug the young thief along, not bothering to even check and see if his rather tight grip was hurting Xendral. If it did, the thief gave no true sign of it, simply going with the flow and ignoring the loud chuckles echoing in his head. the voice somehow found this funny, although the voice usually found everything that happened to Xendral funny. Or, at least everything that was bad.

Letting out a snort, Xendral started to think up a plan, only to get interrupted by some random guy yelling out his name.

Both Xendral and the guard stopped and blinked at Andin, or whoever he was, Xendral's mouth in particular dropping open. The guard let out a snort and dropped his hold on Xendral, going for a sword and heading toward the loud Andin. It was time to hand out a little justice, and the beefy guard didn't mind doing the handing out a bit.

Andin - May 19, 2007 06:00 AM (GMT)
Andin floated in the black abyss that surrounded him. Almost completely unaware of the world that he lived in. Unable to control his actions…, unable to control himself. This sensation felt alien.., yet, not so alien. Almost as I f this had happened before.

Andin, or Carthan, as he had now established, looked at the settings that surrounded him. He didn’t remember anything, just like the fool that was so desperately trying to regain control of his body. He didn’t care. This was his body now, so he might as well have some fun. He noticed the struggle taking place before him and decided to watch. The impudent human was being throttled by the larger human. It was quiet a humorous sight to behold.

That was until the larger human, apparently a guard, rushed towards him with sword drawn. He ducked quickly to the right, faking the guard, the reversed and went left under the guards raised arm. As the guard stumbled past Carthan raised he right arm and slammed his elbow into the back of the guards head. The guard face planted into the red carpet. Carthan let out a laugh. Now that, was funny.
