Shain Volgornd - May 4, 2007 01:32 AM (GMT)
Shain stood alone by the shores of the smooth, calm lake. It was well past nightfall, and there was a slight chill to the air. Shain ingnored the chill well, however. His cloak, boots, and shirt lie under a tree a ways off, protacted by a very much asleep umbra. Whyverin had been watching him during the daylight hours, but had given up keeping her weariness at bay when night came. Shain had decided to stay up, despite the rather frustrating day he had been having.

Shain had come to the lake, a place he had long ago found was peaceful and quiet, to try to train. He needed to since he had lost most of his fighting skills to Shorin, and was still left with a need to defend himself at times. He also needed to be able to confront his other half when they met again. However, he hadn't had much luck even getting started.

When he had first arrived here, around miday, Shain new that he would fist need a stance he would feel comfortable in. When he had been whole, he knew that this was when he was taught and twirling his knives. However, for some reason that just didn't feel right. He supposed it had somethig to do with being litteraly ripped in half. He had let his mind wander through a varitity of poss, yet he had found none that fit. He was now sweating in the chilly night air, and his daggers were stiching up from the gropund where he had thrown them dow quite a while before. Since then, he had been glaring out over the lake, feeling betrayed by everyone and everything, yet finding no reason why he felt like this.

Shain blinked, bringing him out of his glazed stare over the still waters. He needed to get back to his work, Shain looked down at his knives still sticking out of the ground. Perhaps a break first.

Fios - May 7, 2007 03:45 PM (GMT)
Silently, a figure stalked through the forest, towards the lake. He had been walking for nearly three hours, walking past a couple camps, but was never sure if it was bandits or not, so he kept walking. He needed some type of water, his waterskin was empty. Soon, he neared the lake, his footsteps making no noise as he walked on. Fios suddenly stopped, seeing the other moon elf. Shrugging to himself, he continued towards the lake, though stayed a long ways away from the other moon elf. When near the lake, he bent down, putting his hand in the water, then refilled his waterskin.

He stood up, straight, and head held high, though you couldn't see his face, he wore a cloak, with the hood up. He silently jumped to a rock that was sticking up from the water. All movements were graceful, since he was elven. He watched the other elf, a dull look in his eyes. The elf wasn't from where he was, Fios was from a faraway land, where other moon elves lived. He missed that land, where he trained as a knight, and after training sent to fight in a war, after he learned the truth about Sava. It was sad for him to find out that she was a dragon, but he always remembered that when she hid as a human there was something strange about her.

After a bit, he jumped from the rock to the ground once more, his footsteps not making really any sound.

"Vedui', elf." Fios said, his voice calm in elvish. "Lle quena i'lambe tel' Eldalie?" He asked, asking if the elf knew his own elvish language. Probably not... but, I won't know unless I ask... probably will be easier to just speak common... He thought, while looking over the other elf.

Shain Volgornd - May 8, 2007 01:32 AM (GMT)
Shain was surprised to hear anothers voice out here. he had passed a few camps on his way in, but most were far enough away that Shian expected privacy. Well, this did happen to be the only widly known place for water in the forest. Shain shouldn't be too surprised, but he wished Whyv would have warned him. unfortunately, she was still sleeping away the night.

Shain looked towards the source of the sound, eyes blank and void of emotion. He didn't recognize the speach, other than the fact that it was a dialect of elvish. Drow was the only other tongue he had ever known besides Common, and now that was lost to him as well. However, from the look of the fellow, Shain guessed he was being spoken to in the dialect moon elves used. Shain was at an ill position to give him an answer in the same tongue, though it did put the idea in his head that he should learn other forms of elvish. He was, after all, fully Moon Elf for the time being. No harm in learning what should be one of his native tongues.

"Sorry, but that tongue was not taught to me as a child, though it should have been. Are able to speak in Common?"

Fios - May 8, 2007 01:51 AM (GMT)
He smiled a little, a little amused, that a fellow moon elf wasn't able to speak his language, but it was possible, and he was not about to insult another without even knowing them. Slowly he removed his hood, showing raven black hair, dark blue eyes, and pointed ears. He wondered if the elf only knew common or does he know another, but, most likely not, but some do know more other then elvish.

"Yes, I speak common, I learned it as a child." He said with a laugh. "Mother was quite reluctant." He said, smiling a little, then it left as quickly as it had come. He turned his head, looking at the daggers that were sticking out of the ground, and thought a bit, before looking back at the other moon elf. "I am assuming that you are practicing..." He simply stated, as he thought a bit, about many different things. He was planning on asking the elf questions, about the main city, since he just arrived at Imythess, he had no idea exactly where he was, he just knew the land was called Imythess. He mostly came here to get away from the knights of his country, where they accused him falsely, he also came here to find someone, he heard that there was a dragon about, and he wanted to see if it was the right one.

"I have a simple question; what is the main city around here? I guess the capitol... I'm new, and I don't quite know the name of it... not even this forest." Fios said, shrugging lightly.

Shain Volgornd - May 8, 2007 02:38 PM (GMT)
Shain watched without passion as amusement crept onto the other elve's face. Probably due to Shain's lack of knowledge about what would seem to be his native language. At least he knew how to speak common, which would make this meeting a little easier on the both of them. Shain stayed silent as the other elf indicated his knives and noted that he was practicing, giving only a simple nod in return. It was farely obvious that he had been practicing, since he was shirtless and sweeting. Plus, his knives were out, even if they were plunged into the ground.

When the other elf mentioned wanting to find the capitol, Shain thought for a moment, thinking. "I don't know if there is a real capitol. There are a couple cities, but if one is the capitol, then I have missed much. However, the center of the land, or at least the city of which most people know, would be Taras. I beleive that it is North of here, but I cannot say for sure. I don't go there often enough to know a deffinant route. When the sun comes out, I could lead you there. I know a couple ways that would set me on the right path."

Off to the side, Shian heard Whyverin yawn. Finally she had awoken, though a bit late. Shain would imagine that she wouldn't be too happy about letting someone past her.

Fios - May 8, 2007 03:58 PM (GMT)
Fios stood silently, looking over the woods, they almost reminded him of home, but he refused to think of it, after all, it was the people at his home who accused him. He looked back at the elf, as he talked. He smiled slightly, a smile of thanks. "Taras... never heard of the place, never heard of Imythess... Thank you for being willing to take me there... I bet I'd just get lost and wind up in one of the bandit camps out in the woods." He said. He hated bandits, when he was with his group of knights and captain, they had once destroy a bandit camp, because they were stealing from a town, but that was after the war his land was in.

When he heard the Umbra yawn, he looked up, a bit surprised, he hadn't noticed the feline creature until now. He looked at it, a bit curious. He never has before seen an Umbra. He mumbled something in elvish while he looked at the Umbra, before he looked back at the other moon elf.

"I'm Fios Armorsong." Fios said simply. Daylight isn't for hours, sadly, I'd love to get going, I'd love to have a place to stay, I'm sick of sleeping on the cold ground, he thought, a bit annoyed.

Shain Volgornd - May 10, 2007 02:39 PM (GMT)
"Well, if you're new here, I'd doubt you'd here of it," Shain said, responding to Fios' remark. "You'll eventually learn what city is what and so on though. that is, if you plan to stay." Whyverin was on her feet now, and eying Fios warrilly since he had been able to slip by her. Of course she wouldn't count it that she was asleep at the time, and Shain would let her be with her eying. She wouldn't do anything as long as Shain was getting along with him. Shain decided though, to make sure his company was at ease, to introduce them. "Fios, this is Whyverin, my umbra nad friend. Whyv, Fios. Don't eat him."

Shain returned his attention to the other elf. "Well, I don't believe many bandits like to camp close to the lake. It seems to be the only reliable drinking source around, and no doubt they would begin to steal from each other and killing. They usually go to the other end as well, so camping on this side is much safer."

Who was this guy, and why did he want to get to the capitol, thought Shain as he spoke. It was obvious he was from some different country, but it sounded as if he was on official buisness. the only problem with that was that if he was here on buisness, he would likely know where to go.

Fios - May 11, 2007 01:05 AM (GMT)
He nodded. "Hm... I guess I will stay here a while... as long as I can, then I'd have to move on..." Fios said, looking at the lake, wondering, wondering when he'd hopefully be able to meet Savarkael again, he wanted to ask her questions that had been nagging him on her journeys away from his homeland. He was angry when he found out Sava was a dragon, he feared dragons, ever since the war, when evil dragons were captured and used in the battles. He wondered how angry she would be, he knew she had a bad attitude, but he just wondered. He smiled a little, his eyes scanning over the water, before he turned to Shain again.

Fios glanced at Whyverin, eyes curious once more. "I have never seen an Umbra before, in my homeland, they were tales, of wild feline creatures." He said, after a bit he shook his head, and stood a little straighter.

"Anyway, daylight isn't for hours, sadly. Maybe, we could do a duel, after all, you were practicing, what do you say?" He asked, a slight smirk on his face. He loved to fight sometimes, though, in a war, it was frightening, but with his friends, he always had fun.

Shain Volgornd - May 17, 2007 11:40 AM (GMT)
Shain nodded as Fios decided to stay here for the night. Which was probably a very smart thing to do, considering the bandits. They were always on the look out for gold, and would take it no matter what the cost usually. Shain had had relatively few expiriences with them, and most of those he ended by killing all those attacking him because they wouldn't back down. Not the best thing to do, but the only opption he had at the time.

"I have never seen an Umbra before, in my homeland, they were tales, of wild feline creatures." Shain looked at Fios, then at Whyverin, who was now scrathcing her self on her kneck, but still watching Fios. "They are not so common here, only in the forest on the borders of Balefire. Gloomwood, it's called. I purchased her in the city, where umbra are raised and trained.

Whyverin took her eyes off of Fios to look at Shain. He smiled for the first time that night. She was trully his friend, one of the few. Three really. Whyverin, Kona, and Sava, though he had not seen Kona for some time now.

At the mention of a duel, Shian looked to his knives. There was no way he could possibly beat this man in his condition. He didn't even have a way to weild his knives yet. however, he did need a learning expirience, so he would. "I would be happy to duel." He heard Whyv growl behind him, but ignored her. He bent down to pick his blades out of the ground. They slid out farely easy, and he turned to face Fios. For a moment, he noticed that they knives felt right for once. He chanced a glnce down at them to see how he was holding them. The blades ran along his forearm. He was holding them opposite of what he normally did, with the back of the hilt at the bottom of his hand. he smild for the second time. "Whenever you are ready."
