Title: Protein and Paranoia

Ohdi - April 20, 2007 09:27 PM (GMT)
Silence. Trees in every direction going on endlessly towards every horizon. And silence... Well, for the most part. The small patches of light that shined through the treetops woke the birds, causing them to sing their songs of morning. A few deer slowly walked through, looking for berry bushes or apples fallen from trees. And that was the only movement.
Quietly they walked, as if not wanting to disturb the other creatures of the forest. And they were so caught up in looking for something to nibble on, that they didn't even notice the small Halfling sitting against the trunk of a tree. But had they seen him by now, it would have been much too late.
The arrow made a whoosh as it cut through the wind, making its way towards its target. It pierced the fur and skin of the largest buck of the pack. The buck ran a few yards, before falling dead. This spontaneous movement of the buck caused all of the other deer to run as fast as they could in random directions.
Ohdi loved the sight of it all. The leader assassinated. Panic. Retreat. Disorder. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the next few days.
Beautiful, Ohdi thought as he ran towards his prey. When he finally made it, he knelt down beside the deer, and pulled the arrow out of its heart. He started from here. Due to lack of a knife, Ohdi used his fingers to pull back the deer's pelt. He wasn't careful about it, he wouldn't be selling it later or anything.
Blood covered his hands, this is just how he liked it, getting dirty and sweaty just to survive. He pulled the deer's guts and unwanted organs out and set them aside for a vulture or something to feast upon.
Feeling as if he were being watched, Ohdi glanced around, but didn't give it a second thought, and went back to work.
After having taken all of the meat he could, Ohdi made a nice little pile of it. He decided that since he had nothing to lug it around in, this would be his camping spot for a while. He'd have to guard the meat with his life, but for the time being, he needed do abandon his post to go fetch some firewood.
As he made his way farther and farther from the comfort of his food, Ohdi felt more and more as if he were being watched. He eventually pulled an arrow out of his quiver and put it to his bow, ready to shoot any predator that might come out at him.
"Who's there?" Ohdi shouted, with a quavering voice, "Show yourself!"

Stallion had been watching it all from a distance in a nearby tree. He wasn't quite sure why he was there, but the demon inside of him seemed to tell him to go places. Where ever it told him to go seemed to be turn into an adventure of some sort.
The rabbit Shadow in his bag moved unrestlessly for she had not been able to move outside of the bag for a while now. He smiled briefly, and said "Don't worry darling, you will have a share of some meat, and will get to eat soon."
He noticed the small man had seen him. He jumped from the tree and landed almost silently on the ground. He walked towards the man slowly, as not to startle him. He did not know what kind of creature was and didn't know how easy to scare he was.
Ohdi - April 21, 2007 02:20 AM (GMT)
Ohdi had not in fact seen the Vampyr until he turned around. When he did, he found himself face to face with the possessed being.
"Ahh!" Ohdi shouted, startled. He quickly jumped back, releasing the arrow from his bow. It flew high into the air, nowhere near the Vampyr, and came down, landing in the grass a few yards away from the two.
From jumping back, Ohdi had landed on his back, a few arrows from the quiver scattered about the ground. He looked nervously at the person before him, much taller, and much more powerful by the looks. Ohdi's mind blanked, he fumbled for words, but all that came off of his tongue was meaningless babbling. He quickly shut up, not wanting to waste his breath, and focused.
He snatched an arrow from the ground and pulled himself to his feet. Putting it to the bow, he pulled the arrow back. And while he did his best to look intimidating, he was still shaking in fear.
"W-Who are you?" Ohdi demanded, his eyes locked with those of the person before him.

Stallion smiled and laughed as the man fell to the ground. As he stood up and a readied his bow his smile faded. Even with the arrow pointing at him, he was not afraid of this tiny creature. "I... The one you see before you, am me. Now if what you want is a name, I'd like to know who and what was asking before I graced you with mine."
He walked slowly closer to the man, for this man to even hurt him he'd have to pierce his heart with the arrow. But at the rate the halfling was shaking he doubted he could even scrape him with an arrow.
The smell of the small creatures fear swept over Shadow, and made her unrestless. The smell of the dead deer effected them both, making them both hungry. Stallion eyes grew black, as the smell of the blood took its toll on him. With every step he took the man looked more and more scared. He smiled and laughed out loud, he finally broke his gaze with small man to look at the deer, the reason he was here. The blood had brought him, and he had wanted to feed his darling, Shadow.

Ohdi, trembling, stood in place as the tall pale being stepped forward. He listened as the man demanded Ohdi's name before giving his own, but Ohdi didn't respond immediately. The Vampyr's laugh only made Ohdi more upset, he couldn't quite find himself to be angry, as he was much too afraid. Ohdi was however, in the back of his mind, curious as to what this person could possibly want with a little halfling.
He quickly found out, as the Vampyr's head turned to face Ohdi's deer.
A new feeling overcame Ohdi, he quickly calmed, knowing now what this person was after. He straightened out, planted his feet, and stopped shaking, "My name's Ohdi," he said firmly, "and if you want that deer, you'll have to kill me first. Because if you take it, I'm as good as dead anyway."
Ohdi knew that he didn't know what he was up against, but he ignored that fact. He had to protect his food at all costs.

Stallion grinned evilly at these words "Well that's good... I was kind of planning on killing you by draining your blood anyways." He flipped his hand in the air as if dismissing what he had just said and continued. "Oh and since you've told me your name my name is, Stallion, Stallion Thunder."
As he said this a small squeak sounded from his back pack, as Shadow must've rolled over by accident in the bag.
His black eyes stared into the little halflings as the arrow pointed at his body. He pondered "If this creature is really going to be willing to fight me for this kill of his, maybe I should just let him have it." He sighed out loud and looked at the creature then at the food. A slight breeze blew, it picked up the smell of the deer and blew it towards him. He was hungry and he wanted this deer.
He took a few steps closer to the tiny creature. He reached over his right shoulder and unsheathed his sword. The demon inside of him itched to see blood spill. The thought etched into his head like it had so many times before.
Blood....

"Well that's good... I was kind of planning on killing you by draining your blood anyways."
Ohdi blinked at this. He'd never heard of one having their blood drained... He thought for a moment of his body, lying lifeless, dry and wrinkled like a prune. A sudden chill of realization came over him, Ohdi was nothing to this Stallion. He was certainly not bluffing.
He watched Stallion take a few steps closer. Ohdi was trembling again, not as much as before, but enough that it must have been obvious to Stallion. The Vampyr reached behind himself and had pulled out a sword.
"Wait!" Ohdi shouted, in high hopes the Vampyr would, "Wait. Why do you want my deer? Can you not hunt one on your own?" Ohdi took a step back just in case, and waited for Stallion to either respond or strike. He probably wasn't prepared for either.
StallionThunder - April 23, 2007 05:46 PM (GMT)
Stallion stared blindly at the halfling. He responded in a sort of monotone, "Maybe it's because I am to lazy to hunt for myself, or maybe it's because I am to hungry and weak to hunt for myself. Whatever the case may be, I am indeed hungry."
He smiled at the thought that this creature was so scared of him. "Maybe I should just mess around with this guy for a while. It'll be fun, I haven't been able to have fun in a while, and i might not get another chance soon." He looked at the deer and smiled, It wasn't going anywhere, so he could take his time.
He smiled a twisted smile and said slowly to the small man, "So how do you want to die. Decapitation, slow bleeding from a loss of arm or leg. Or howabout i just suck the blood out of you. Really how do you want to die?" He waited for the reply. He wanted to see the reaction, he loved to feed off of fear.

[OOC: Yikes! I've been really busy lately, sorry man]

Ignoring Stallion's question, Ohdi decided to try to summon up the courage to let loose a few words from his mouth, "Too weak to kill a deer," he began, with more curiosity than courage, "but strong enough to attack an armed halfling? Too lazy to hunt for a deer, yet you're wasting time with someone as little as me?"
Ohdi wasn't just curious, he was also attempting to buy time, though, it wasn't as if more time could save him. It was just Ohdi and Stallion in the middle of Norwood Forest. There was also, of course, the least bit of hope that he could convince the person to leave him alone. But this obviously wasn't too likely.
