Title: Look Deep into the Waters
StallionThunder - March 23, 2007 08:46 PM (GMT)
Stallion Thunder stood by the lakes edge and stared into the lake. It was cold but he couldn't really feel it he coudln't feel anything anymore except hunger. Its what drove him, he came here to escape that. The land here is so dark and quiet you don't have to think about feeding you could just be alone and think. He wasn't keen on thinking right now, he was trying to remember anything he could.
One day he just had woken up and was by himself with no memory or feeling, except a burning hunger. Maybe he had not fed in such a long time he suffered Amnesia? The only memory he has is that of a name, Stallion Thunder, and he wasn't even sure it was his.
He watched a stick float up to the shore. He spoke aloud to himself "Why can't I remember anything?" He sat down on the shore and stared farther into the lake.
Teh Crypt Keeper - March 23, 2007 09:46 PM (GMT)
Serenity sat watching this creature. She didn't really know why. She just waited, as if to see what he would do next. Usually, any member of her clan would walk right up to the person and start a conversation, and by the end have the person joining them for a drink of ale. She would not, for she was not like them. She decided to take her leave. She stood and went to leave when a twig snapped under her left foot, it was a sound that would not go unnoticed. "Damn." She muttered. Serenity was unsure of how he'd react, so her first instinct was to run. So, she did.
StallionThunder - March 24, 2007 12:10 AM (GMT)
A slight breeze blew, normally it would chill him to the bone but this time the breeze carried something more then just a cold, it carried a smell... of an undead. Stallion Thunder hears a loud snap and twisted around quickly. He saw a figure running away in another direction much faster then a human, or any other native creatures of the Underdark.
He got up quickly, and started running after the dark figure. She was fast, but he was faster, he began to catch up as he jumped over objects on the ground he had no time to slow down to see what he was jumping. He was sighted on this figure, he had only one place to be alone and she had ruined it for him. He was going to make her pay for disturbing him. He unsheathed his Two-Handed Sword and ran letting it drag on the ground. "Why did you Disturb me creature of the night?"
Teh Crypt Keeper - March 24, 2007 11:41 AM (GMT)
"I...I...." She had no idea what to say, her only instinct was to run but that wasn't possible, he was too fast. She drew an arrow out of it's place of rest in it's quiver and dodged to the right while doing a 180 degree turn, then stopped. She was facing him now, her aim fixed on his heart. She didn't care about the pain her feet felt, after all, she wore no protection on them so they were bloody and dirty from running across all the stones and twigs. Her hair was tossed by the wind, and her heart was weak from lack of blood. She had to face him though, she couldn't run anymore. "Take another step closer, and I promise, I will slaughter you! She needed to escape, she didn't think she could kill this one, he was different from the other undead she had come in contact with. For now though, she had to be ready to kill.
StallionThunder - March 24, 2007 02:34 PM (GMT)
His Eyes turned black and he lifted his two-handed sword with great ease. He grinned bearing his oversized fangs. "You are a Night Walker like me... Who am I, where am I from, why can't I remember anything?" He fell to his knees and dropped his sword to his side.
Teh Crypt Keeper - March 24, 2007 03:16 PM (GMT)
For a moment, nothing happened. A moment later, nothing continued to happen. Serenity pitied the man, she also envied him. To not remember, would be a gift for her, but for him, it was a cruel curse. maybe he'd be better off not knowing, maybe he wouldn't. She lowered her aim, and stepped closer. Kneeling beside him, Serenity placed a soft hand on his cheek. She lifted his chin until his eyes met hers, and spoke softly and sympathetically. "You poor thing. You don't even know who you really are. You have no known purpose, and lack knowledge of ever existing before the beginning of your conscious memory." Without another word, she stood, cast heal on her feet, and walked away.
StallionThunder - March 25, 2007 02:28 AM (GMT)
He had nothing left here, he was tired of the quiet. He decided to follow this creature of the night. He had nothing better to do, so he figured why not. He got to his feet and and picked up his sword. He sheathed it and began to follow her. He didn't care if she didn't want him to follow, she ruined his quiet so he sha'll ruin her lonelyness. He tapped the ground with his finger and a bright flash appeared as he cast 'Detect Undead' on her so he could sense her better.
Teh Crypt Keeper - March 25, 2007 02:39 AM (GMT)
Serenity had no idea why she was apparently so interesting to follow. She stopped, if he was gonna be sticking around, they should at least figure out why eachother was there, but wouldn't be surprised if neither of them knew. "Well, in that case, come on up here and introduce yourself. There's no reason for you to stay that far back." She waited a moment, and finally remembered how thirsty she was. "What say you to a drink." Her fangs grew as she turned, and smirked in the general direction of her stalker.
StallionThunder - March 25, 2007 03:08 AM (GMT)
Stallion Thunder looked at her like a puppy, with wide eyes and he half skipped up to her. He looked at the ground and looked up at her. "I'm Stallion Thunder... I think, and about that drink...." He smiled and his eyes turned black, his face grew grotesque and gnarled. In a deep growling voice he finished his sentence,"I am very thirsty, and I'd like to know who I will be hunting with tonight." He grabbed the hilt of his sword and his smile grew twisted.
Serenity WolfStar - March 25, 2007 03:24 PM (GMT)
"My name, is Serenity WolfStar. It's nice to meet you.' Then Serenity thought to herself "Wouldn't the family be so proud." She flinched at the cruel sarcasm of that thought, after all her family......... her family was no longer around. She would often do that, well, her memories would. She hated when they ruined a nice night such as tonight, even more when they haunt her in her sleep. A series of flashbacks flashed through her mind, and she fell to the ground sobbing. She felt like a fool but she couldn't stop.
StallionThunder - March 26, 2007 02:11 AM (GMT)
Stallion looked at this sight, of the creature crying. He felt bad for her, he knew how it felt to be hurting without anyone to care. He kneeled down beside her only hoping for her to stop crying. He spoke softly, "Don't worry your not alone, I'm here." He didn't know what to do... but he did the only thing he could think of, but it was something he didn't ever think he would do, he gave her a hug.
Serenity WolfStar - March 26, 2007 07:37 PM (GMT)
Serenity stopped crying and sat there in shock. Was he really hugging her? Why? "Stallion, I'm sorry. A true vampire would never act this way." She hugged him back, she didn't know why, but maybe it was because she finally felt safe, and like she wasn't alone. "No!" She pushed him away and started running. "I can't do this, he'll just get hurt! She told herself. Serenity didn't want to make another friend just to have him die, just like everyone else who got close to her.
StallionThunder - March 27, 2007 10:30 PM (GMT)
He wondered at why he had hugged her, she was right it wasn't anything he should have done. But he didn't feel like he was a Vampire, he wasn't as hungry, he wasn't killed by the sun only slightly burned. Even if he wasn't as hungry as normal vampires, he was pretty damn hungry right now. Even though his hunting partner just left. That, that wasn't going to stop him from feeding tonight.
He stared at the open space as it widened as she ran away. He looked at her running away, he didn't chase after her again because he knew she had to leave this time. He stared at the ground for a little bit longer, then he turned around and headed back to the waters edge and stared in it. His only thought was "Maybe I am supposed to be alone, and what happens if I remember everything about me and then I wish I didn't?"
Serenity WolfStar - March 27, 2007 10:43 PM (GMT)
Serenity stopped, it felt rude for running off like that, he could be lost, and she offered to go hunting with him. She only ran because she was afraid he would get hurt, like everyone else she knew. Well, even if I do leave eventually, he at least deserves to know why I ran off like that. She turned and began to walk back in the direction from which she came, sniffing the air from time-to-time waiting to pick up Stallion's scent.
StallionThunder - March 27, 2007 11:24 PM (GMT)
He yet again stared at the water, and gazed upon his reflection. He kneeled down and touched his reflection. The ripples scattered across the lake and he watched as they disappeared from his sight. He didn't know whether or not he should keep waiting for a person to come to the waters edge, or if he should go find someone.
He waited for someone to come... He was very tired and thirsty and he was ready to head out. But he looked one more time into the water and watched as the water moved. He was always scared of water of the water he didn't know why.
Serenity WolfStar - March 27, 2007 11:39 PM (GMT)
Serenity walked up next to Stallion Thunder. What's his thing with lakes anyway? She crept beside him and looked into the waters, at the reflection that wasn't there. "Sorry I left, I just try to avoid getting attached to people, they tend to get hurt. However, if you still want to join me for a hunt, then we'd better get going soon." She stood and picked up a flat rock, looking at it before tossing it across the lakes' surface. It skipped six times before submerging completely. "So what do you say."
StallionThunder - March 28, 2007 04:12 PM (GMT)
He had listened to her walk up beside him and he smiled. He listened to her explanation of why she had left. He watched her pick up a rock and skip it across the lakes dark waters, six skips.
He looked over at her and stood up. He wiped off his clothes and looked in the water one more time. He looked over at her spoke quietly "I say... I say I'm thirsty." He smiled and he sniffed at the air...
He was ready to hunt.
Serenity WolfStar - March 28, 2007 07:38 PM (GMT)
Serenity smiled, it was a rare occasion when she met someone who was, like her, a vampire without ill intentions towards all other creatures. She picked up another rock and skipped it across the lake, as the ripples spread and collided with each other. She sighed. "As the ripples in these dismal waters collide, so do the swords of man. Trying to get as much as they can, overcoming each other to get what they want. Humans truly are heartless creatures, and so arrogant as well, ignorant of the fact that they are just cattle."
It's not that Serenity hated humans, or that she wanted to destroy them all, she just hated their nature. She believed that their determination could be put to better use, not just waging wars to fulfill their greedy and petty ambitions.
She looked at Stallion. "So where do you think we should head to hunt. I don't know the area too well." A breeze blew, tossing the ends of her clothes and hair hair to the right as she waited anxiously for a reply.
StallionThunder - March 28, 2007 11:37 PM (GMT)
He stared at the ripples gliding across the water as she spoke. The rock she skipped, skipped seven times. He suddenly felt a great urge in his chest it pulled at him it felt like something was trying to get out. His eyes averted to the side as he thought he saw something maybe it was just a hallucination... maybe not.
He looked around and the words came slightly out of his mouth "Umm... I'm lost, I've never been to this side of the Lake. I'm sure if we just walk along the edge of the lake we will find a familiar spot.
He began to walk away and he turned and stopped and looked at her. "You coming?"
Serenity WolfStar - March 29, 2007 07:41 PM (GMT)
Serenity nodded. It was good to know she had someone to be lost with. She had been wondering around aimlessly for so long, that she didn't even know how long she has been in that area. She directed her gaze at the cloudless sky above, as if it held the truth she longed for. Why? Why did I come back? Usually, I would've been long gone by now, leaving him with only a memory. I don't understand it at all. Serenity stepped beside him. Maybe I just don't want to be by myself in a place so unfamiliar, yes, that must be it. When I find out where I am, then I'll leave.
Part of her wasn't so sure, that same part was the part of her that didn't want to be alone. She grabbed Stallion's shoulder, and froze. "What is so different about you? Do you know anything about yourself at all?" She tightened her grasp, as if she was afraid he'd be the one to run away this time. Serenity hung her head and anticipated his reply.
StallionThunder - March 30, 2007 07:41 PM (GMT)
As her hand landed on his shoulder a surge ran through his body, it almost made him twitch. It was a weird feeling making him smile. He listened to her ask her question and he frowned.
He responded lightly, "I can't remember anything, and I don't think anything is different about me." Who looked down at the ground, and stared at a rock. It was a pretty rock. He then looked back up at Serenity, "Can we try to find out where we are now or do you still want to ask me something?" He asked this in a edgy voice because he was ready to feed.
Rona - March 30, 2007 08:07 PM (GMT)
Deep in the wilderness Rona was eager to run. Her legs were cramping up trying to live a human lifesyle. She was waiting for the dead of night so that no one can see her running. Her snow white pelt would stick out like a sore thumb. She was waiting patienly for her time to transform. Her heart was racing she could feel her spine begining to strech out. She slowly waltzed through the forest around. Atlast she was free of mortals. The moonlight was just starting to show trough. It was almost time. . .
Serenity WolfStar - April 1, 2007 11:48 PM (GMT)
"No, there was nothing else." She felt strange but the feeling dissipated quickly as a strange scent was carried in a passing breeze. Serenity grasped her bow, she wasn't quite sure what it was, it was a little too faint. The fact that she didn't know what it was made her nervous. "Did you catch that? What was it? She awaited a response from Stallion as she retrieved an arrow from it's place in the quiver. She sniffed the air again, to see if she could gain another hint of what was nearby. She couldn't. So again, Serenity waited.
StallionThunder - April 3, 2007 04:36 AM (GMT)
Stallion Thunder watched in wonder as she grabbed for her bow. Her words then confused, but he quickly understood as the air carried a faint smell with it. It wasn't strong, but it was surely there.
He reached over his shoulder and grabbed the hilt of his sword. He unsheathed it slowly trying to make as little noise as he could. The wind blew across the trees leaves creating a low rustling, but it also carried the smell. The smell was undefinable, it was almost human but then, it wasn't. He was keen on finding on what the smell led to, maybe their first meal of the night. He smiled at Serenity and his eyes flashed black. "Think this could be our first meal of the night, little one?" He said quietly, as not to hint off their pray. He wondered if calling her 'little one' would offend her, but then again he didn't care.
The smell grew stronger, it was moving, moving towards them. "There might not be much work involved with this if it keeps coming towards us, dissapointing." He thought to himself, he always loved the hunt. But now he was hungry enough to go for anything. He positioned his sword in front and began to walk slowly towards the direction smell came from.
Serenity WolfStar - April 3, 2007 08:14 PM (GMT)
Aligning the end of her arrow with the bowstring, Serenity aimed in the direction the scent emanated from. The tension of the bow was nothing compared to the tension in the air as they awaited the arrival of whatever it was that headed so quickly towards them. Another breeze passed transporting a more distinctive scent to the place the two of them stood.
Serenity spoke in a soft whisper, for she did not wish to be heard. "Strange, its so fast, and that scent did not reek of mortality. What we are about to come face to face with is not just some human." Serenity stood unwavering, more-than-ready to face whatever came at them.
She looked at Stallion Thunder, and in the same soft whisper she made one last comment. "By the way, don't call me "little one" it makes me feel like i'm some defenseless three-year-old." And lets face it, even at the age of three, Serenity was far from defenseless.
Rona - April 3, 2007 09:30 PM (GMT)
Rona picked up a new smell. Well actually it was two new scents. "What is that peculiar scent. It seems to be comming my way. Heavens no I can never change in peace. Theres always somthing. What ever it is they're in for a big surprise." Rona sighed
The change was comming. Her body was preparing for the moment. She could not get over those scents though. What could they possibly be. Why i can't get over the fact that they're in the air. Rona thought. Rona was very alert waiting for unfamiliar company. Ah its comming more rapidly. a shot of pain ran through Rona.
She stumbled and leaned against a tree grabbing her ribs. Her rib cage was expanding. Rona could feel each individual rib bone shift and make a loud snaping noise. Her nail grew longer and had a black tint to them. It still was not time, but it was coming closer
StallionThunder - April 3, 2007 11:51 PM (GMT)
The smell seemed to be changing, it was the same but different. The smell had stopped approaching them. So he wondered what was happening to his potential prey. But he thought that the stopping of his prey showed that the hunt would happen again. This lead to more fun for him.
He looked at Serenity and spoke to her, "Hmm, Since the smell has stopped do you think we should goto it instead?"
Serenity WolfStar - April 4, 2007 08:14 PM (GMT)
Anticipation spewed from Serenity's face as she grinned. She was tired of waiting for the creature to come to her. "Sounds perfect, but we must be careful, we don't know what it is we're hunting yet, I wouldn't underestimate it." Serenity took one step closer in the prey's direction and stopped. "What if the creature knows about our presence, it could be a trap."
Whether is was or wasn't didn't matter too much, she'd still go. It it was she'd just take more caution though. Another breeze blew showing the creature still remained in the same place. Serenity's fangs begged for blood, so she drove them into her bottom lips to silence them. A stream of crimson ran down her chin, she didn't bother removing it, for she was far too anxious to care.
StallionThunder - April 5, 2007 01:14 PM (GMT)
Stallion Thunder agreed with Serenity. They must be careful they didn't know quite what they were up against. He started to head in the direction of the smell slowly. Every step he took the smell grew stronger. It made him smile that such a strong smell could be leading to his next feast.
He looked at his partner of the night and noticed a streak of blood down her chin. It only made him want blood more.
Rona - April 5, 2007 09:20 PM (GMT)
Rona could feel her body changing. Her femur was growing longer and it started to bend and started to look like the hind leg of a wolf. Her fingers were cracking and elongating. Rona could still smell her soon to be company getting closer. Where they going to atempt to kill her? What will happen when they get here. What will she do when the do arive? These were questions floating around in Rona's mind. The beautiful was shining so bright on the landscape. Every drop of mist and dew sparkled like diomonds in the moon light. Closer the moment came where she could let herself go. Before she could she had to make sure she is out of the way where mortals can not see or find her.
Serenity WolfStar - April 6, 2007 02:33 PM (GMT)
Serenity couldn't sit and just wait, she took off. The wind whipped past her as she nearly flew to get there. When she finally stopped she saw what had caused the scent, a lycan. "So, you're the one, well I was hoping to find a human. Anyway, my name is Serenity, who might you be?" I really don't feel like feeding on a lycan, but if this creature choses to fight me, then I will have little choice.
Serenity spread her black wings, she needed the stretch, and her fangs grew out along with her claws. She waited patiently and clouds began to roll over the sky. "Looks like we're in for some rain, I can smell it already." The first few drops fell and she stared intensely at the lycan. Prepared for any signs of attack.
Rona - April 6, 2007 03:07 PM (GMT)
"I am sorry that you came all the way here for nothing. Ahh . . . Sorry" Rona had another shot of pain run through her. Her spine streched further now. She could not long hold on to human form any longer. White fur was growing on her back and started to sprout on her calves. Her back was distorted and her face still had human features.
She looked up at Serenity and her jaw cracked and expanded. Her pearly white fangs lit up in the moonlight. "I must run tonight. I am not here to fight. There must be another one with you. I smelled two scents. You are one, but where is the other?" Rona grabed her side and winced. Here come the most painful ten seconds of my life again She thought as her bones were aligning and elongating further. She was on the ground at this point. Rona looked up at Serenity and more pain shoots through her whole body.
Her face was changing even more. Her jaws were clearly visible now. She looked once more up at Serenity and Rona's eyes flashed golden yellow. She let out a howl to sing to the moon and the night sky. She slowly stood up and looked at Serenity to see what her reaction was going to be.
Serenity WolfStar - April 7, 2007 04:52 PM (GMT)
Serenity gazed upon the lycan as she transformed. "Well if you would be so kind as to tell my companion, that is if he ever catches up, that I'll be back. I'm gonna try to find us a snack." She trusted herself vertically and flew high above the lycan. The cool night air filled her lungs and the moonlight danced upon her face. What a beautiful night, yes, a beautiful night indeed. Who was that lycan anyway? I didn't sense any hostility from her, so I do think there's any reason to worry about her.She flew above the trees surveying the area in search of mortals, and found them.
StallionThunder - April 8, 2007 02:04 AM (GMT)
Stallion Thunder walked up to the spot that Serenity had just left and he saw the female shapeshifting into her wolf form. He looked at the lycan then into the air as if her changing was nothing out of the ordinary. He spoke to himself but loud enough for her to hear him. "Hmm... I must have just missed her. He frowned at the lycan and kneeled down beside her. "Does it hurt? That must by the way you look." He spoke softly and sweetly to her. He felt something from her, he wasn't sure what it is, but he knew he did feel something.
Serenity WolfStar - April 8, 2007 02:37 AM (GMT)
Serenity swooped on the crowd of humans, clearly a bunch of traveling merchants and preformers. She dug her elongated claws into the necks of two and used her feet to pick up two others by the backs of their shirts and carried them high above their commrads. "I wouldn't struggle it I were you two. I don't think you'll like the feeling of falling a mile down and into the trees. I'd better hurry, or these two will die before I get there."'
They just called out the usual "Please don't kill us!" and "I'm too young to die" "The world is chaotic, be glad to die young." She found the spot where she first took off and dove downwards landing lightly and standing on the two she had carried with her feet the ones in her hands still fighting to get away. Serenity held a man in her right grasp closer to her teeth and dove them into his neck. When she withdrew for a moment her mouth and chin were drenched in blood. "Diner is served."
Rona - April 9, 2007 03:46 AM (GMT)
Rona looked up at the male vampire standing before her. She pushed herself off the ground and stood on her hind legs and shook the dirt and leaves out of her snow white pelt. "Yes it does hurt more then you know." Rona stared directly into his eyes. She felt a weird feeling when she looked into his soul. "If you are looking for Serenity she just left to get somthing to eat. And the only down side of being a lycan, as a mortal you don't have a very good back. It aches and burns like fire often."
Rona smiled at him as his faced looked confused about somthing for a split moment. She looked down when he looked back at her. Rona also heard panic in peoples voices off in the distance. "What is gonig on?" Rona's ear twiched towards the noise and she put her nose in the air and all she could pick up was fear and blood. Her curiosity was getting the best of her. "Well my name is Rona. Whats your stranger? She said with a sweet tone. " I hear chaos I wonder whats going on. Hey do you want to go check it out with me. I think Serenity is there. I can still smell her."
Rona thought quickly I will have to becarful because people are involved and they are all panicky dumb animals. I also can get a good run in. Ah if only this vampire could keep up with her. Rona laughed knowing that he probably could very well keep up with her.
StallionThunder - April 11, 2007 06:03 PM (GMT)
Stallion Thunder smiled as he listened to her curiosity of the lycan about what was going on. He knew more then anything what was going on. He sighed and spoke to the lycan in a calm voice "Thats just Serenity getting our food." He stared back into her eyes as she stared at him.
He broke eye contact with her and looked into the direction of the noise and screams. He looked back at her and looked back at her face."But if we must go and see, I guess we can save Serenity the trip back. His eyes twitched as he spoke.
For some reason he tried to think of his past. He let his mind wander to see if he could remember anything as he waited for this lycans response.
Rona - April 12, 2007 07:58 PM (GMT)
"Ok lets go. I mean only if yo want to ya know to meet Serenity." Rona yipped like a puppy and wagged her tail slighlty. Rona licked her chops at the idea of food. Her appetite was ravaging. She watched Stallion Thunder for a sign to run. Her legs were uncramping and ready to fly. Her golden yellow eyes pierced the night air. Her legs would no long obey. Rona bolted and looked back to see if he was comming and the whole time she was running she was smiling because she was free at last. No one was goign to hold her back tonight
StallionThunder - April 13, 2007 12:51 AM (GMT)
Unhappy that he couldn't seem to remember anything except for his name. He thought "Well maybe if I feed I could remember more..."
Stallion Thunder smiled as the lycan sped off in the direction of the ruckus. He watched as her body moved. Her movement was so smooth and elegant. He began to walk slowly and then began to speed up to a fast walk. He then picked his right foot up high and began to run after her he moved so quick it was like he was a blur. He caught up to her rather quickly and smiled at her. "You must be eager to run and feed aren't you?"
Rona - April 13, 2007 04:16 PM (GMT)
Rona srtared at Stallion Thunder as he said that. She could feel herself smile evily "Why yes now that you mention it I am famished. Rona's teeth glowed in the moonlight. Her heart was pounded from running to find Serenity. While she was running she kept her eye out for prey or somthing to toy with. Her sleek white pelt swayed with the night air. They were getting closer she could smell fear and chaos in the mortals heart. she let out a howl of joy and ust for fun. Somtimes she would stalk and scare mortals for fun. Their reaction was a game to her. Her new game was about to begin. As she ran her hunger was eating away at her.
