The swamp was quiet as a figure hovered over a fallen beast. It was a pail elven shape, though garbed as if it wanted to be the night itself. A mask lay on the muddy ground beside it, face down. The man, for that is what it was, was looking at th corpse of a dead alligator. A huge gash along its midsection explained its death. This was not, however, what held the elve's attention. He was looking at the throat. Two silvery fangs hung over his lower lip. To any who saw this, the first word they would most likely think of would be vampire. They'd be right.
"You just had to die didn't you. Couldn't just barely hang on. I hate dead bloOd." Lynthaer growled. he had been stuck in this infernal swamp for two days now, without any fresh food, and now he had gone and killed the first thing he had found. Perfect.
Snarling, he dug into the beasts kneck..and quickly drew back, spitting out its fluids. "Disgusting. I hate animals." Without a choice, he slowly lowered his mouth back to its kneck, and began to drain the corpse.
Rising, he spat out the last of the alligator's liquids and wiped his mouth. His stomach was sated, for now. Looking around, he observed the swamp again, for the "n'th" time. He hated this place. not three days, and it already put him in a near rage. The twisted trees were topo close together for him to change, but still didn't provide enough shade for him to walk around without his protection. Oh yess, and nothing would burn. Oh, how he hated it.
Aranel walked with high spirits through the marsh. For reasons unknown to her, she was happy for the first time in the better part of a decade. She hadnt fed yet that night but was not hungry, at least she wasnt hungry for what she could find here. Animals curbed the hunger but left much to be desired. They seemed to leave a filmlike taste in her mouth, there for, she avoided feeding on animals.
She spun and laughed outloud. Her black dress spun out and her voice fell like silver rain, a sound and sight not heard or seen in the marsh, but she was still unconsurned about meeting anyone. For the most part she figured if she did meet anyone wanting to destroy her, she would be happy to die the way she was feeling now. But she doubted that would ever happen. People had tried but had failed.
She was a bit conserned about her mood however, but decided it best to enjoy the temperary joy she was feeling, even if she didnt know why she was feeling that way. SHe giggled like a school girl and started humming an unusual tune. She wasnt even sure where she had heard it before but she liked it. Humming and smiling she moved through the trees like a phantom ghost.
Lynthaer was till snarling at the land around him when he heard the laughing of someone obviously much happier than he was. His stomach growled at him, and he looked at the carcass. Well, he could probably use a little more to fill him up. Especially if it wasn't animal. This time he wouldn't go around swinging the sword or scythe. He wanted the blood fresh.
Listening for a second to discern the direction from which the noise came, he turned to his left and be gan to walk. He saw no need to be quiet. After all, if it was anothyer person, they might enjoy the company. Ar at least they might think they will. The main reason, though, was to make sure no animals came across his path. Three days in this rot hole made him a great hater of the stupid beasts around here. They tasted horrible, smelt even worse, and didn't scream like they were supposed to.
Lynthaer payed attention as he followed the luaghing and giggling, making sure he followed it correctly. He didn't feel like loosing the noise and trying to burn things that wouldn't burn. He had done that thrice already. Each time he had been rewarded with a horrible, damp, woody smell. He had left nothing but odd scorche marks that attested to the wetness of the place.
Lynthaer began to slow down, and walk calmly as he decided that he was close enough to be heard now. Calling out, he attempted a friendly tone, but only succeeded halfway. It resulted in a fake, cheary voice.
"Hello there. Is anyone else here?"
